Greatest Upsets In Professional Wrestling?
I'd certainly put forth an argument for a top 5 on that one.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3
My big reservation with running a best of month is that it may highlight how lacking the current (or most recent rather) product is in comparison.

Greatest Upsets In Professional Wrestling?
Muto's 2000 was such a mess. From his awful look with beyond dodgy hair, injuries mounting effecting his performances - his stock was at his lowest. Then from out of nowhere he rebounds, reinvents and has an incredible 2001.

PPV/Shows you Unapologetically Love
It was advertised on television a fair bit as well... I remember they had a video screen back and forth on Prime Time as well, frankly one of the only times I remember video for Davey with the IC belt apart from the time he won and lost it.

PPV/Shows you Unapologetically Love
Wrestlemania 9 for me. For all the hate it gets, I refuse to look at it objectively. To me it will always be one of my favourite ever events and I'll continue to watch it through the eyes of when I was a kid watching it and anticipating it for the first time. Even seeing photos from the event makes me feel warm and fuzzy. Something about early 90's WWF always struck a chord with me and this event encapsulates those feelings. It's also fitting that I grew up to have some amazing nights in Caesars Palace,

Dynamite Kid
Well the one that comes to mind straight away is the 84 WWF Jr heavyweight title match where Dynamite won the vacant belt. Although the matches they had have a pretty strong resemblance to the Tiger mask / Dynamite ones and for the most part follow a similar formula (hey, if it ain't broke...), Cobra was nowhere near as smooth as Tiger Mask and it actually added a grittier element to the matches. Sometimes I think wrestling is better off when it's slightly rough around the edges.

Dynamite Kid
Matches with George Takano for example.

Dynamite Kid
I loved pretty much everything he did with Buddy Rose in Portland (Buddy initially was a mouth piece of sorts for Dyno who obviously very much needed one). Dynamite was in PRIME condition during his stints here, and of course you have the Curt Hennig tags (I don't think they ever worked a singles - if they did I certainly haven't seen it) however I'm pretty sure he mentions in his book he didn't enjoy his time there and he felt the work was sub par. On the whole I rate Dynamite very highly. Of course it's easy to go the Tiger Mask matches straight away (which I certainly don't feel have aged badly as others have stated here), but I find when you go through his lesser known matches in New Japan via various comps is where you find his true talents and consistency. Easily one of my top 10.

JR has announced that Dixie Carter will be appearing on his Podcast soon. It will be very interesting to see if Jim softballs her; sadly I imagine he will.

Dave Meltzer stuff
This has actually been a long term fear of mine. It's a matter of time before some indy show feels they are being revolutionary by having a shoot announce team... "This is great selling of the ankle..."

WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders, & Chairs
No no, Michael clearly stated short circuit, so I believe we have Dean's Royal Rumble opponent figured...

The European Title
Not entirely true. When Shawn beat Davey for the belt it was initially treated as a big deal and more importantly it felt like a big deal. Shawn would go on to refer to the belt as a joke though and although there were a few more highlights that come to mind, it never reached those highs again. But I'd put forth the argument that Shawn taking the belt from Davey meant more than if Shawn had simply beat Davey. It was the image of Shawn being carried off holding that belt in the air being covered in litter which stuck in most minds...

Punk to UFC
You say that, but somebody I know entered his first MMA fight a few months back and in 9 seconds was knocked out cold and fractured his jaw in the process. Unless you were being literal of course...

Punk to UFC
Good luck to him I say. Anybody who has the balls and the guts to publicly chase a goal in an honorable manner gets a high five from me any day.

Current WWE
A WWE Monopoly game? Is WCW in the Old Kent Road spot?

Could your favorite wrestling company ever offend you to the point that you..
Not a chance of being offended. There have been many times I take a break when I'm not enjoying the product, but never due to offence.

Vince McMahon on Stone Cold Podcast
I didn't enjoy this as much as others seem to have. It was a fun watch but nothing ground breaking IMO. I must say though, I think my heart stopped a little when Austin mentioned Savage as I honestly thought he would follow up with the oft discussed questions of why he isn't already in the HOF and why he is essentially blackballed. But alas...

WWE Network... It's Here
Managed to find it on Daily Motion: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xxdf06_the-mania-of-wrestlemania_sport (Some of the interview is at 14.30). The watermark dates issue is inconsistent but as a general rule a date is inserted when a dead wrestler is speaking or if the footage looks very old / not up to standard so a viewer doesn't think it's their current output standard. The Kurt Angle footage looks as if it were shot on film rather than video tape, or even the "early" digital HD formats Phantom Menace was filmed on. It may explain why they didn't insert a watermark as you can play with that footage to make it look high end.

<Split> The decline of Vince McMahon
Ill? A man who is 70 in a few months who had a childlike energy coming to the ring on these last few appearances? Can't say I noticed it. Does he look like he is ready to burst out of skin like in the 90's? No. But ill is a stretch.

WWE Network... It's Here
This was from the excellent Mania of Wrestlemania documentary looking at WM19 weekend (put out on the WM20 DVD). I really hope this finds its way onto the Network with the original music intact as I haven't seen it in years.

ITT: WWE Scenarios We'd Like To See
Posted elsewhere today: I could do without the GM's / Authority Figures for a while. I think that would be a breathe of fresh air.
-
Current WWE
WWE may be missing a great opportunity to run shows without the GM / Commissioner model which has been worn out.

CM Punk on Colt Cabana's Art of Wrestling
I don't know, I think the unfocused points where Punk would steer off into different directions was OK as it didn't feel as though he was leaving important details out anywhere. It really was like he had been holding his breathe all that time and he frantically needed to get things off his chest. I've listened to it twice now, and Colt really does just sit back on this: which was the right thing to do I think.

CM Punk on Colt Cabana's Art of Wrestling
I found myself rolling my eyes when he spoke of the sponsored ring gear deal. Sure, it would have resulted in more money for guys: but I never want to see the day when costumes become advertising space. We all know the story with Brock so comparisons shouldn't be made. But on the whole I found it fun to listen to, the guy is effortlessly easy to sit back and sip a coffee to.
