Dave Meltzer stuff
Interested in getting the tone of the room: has Something to Wrestle With changed how you think about Dave for anybody here?

WWE's "Unseen Matches" DVD
Weird seeing Warrior run down through the Neon entrance. Will be checking this out in due time.

Have you ever cried watching wrestling?
Yup, when Nailz did a number on Bossman and they showed Bossman all banged up a few weeks later. That upset young me.

WWE's "Unseen Matches" DVD
Would be nice to see Kurt Angle vs Owen Hart.

WWE Payback
Just watched the show. Awful, awful show. I don't care for Bray in the slightest, and that "match" was embarrassing. Like a lame movie fight scene. I am open minded about this stuff - but it wasn't entertaining at all.

Greatest Match in Wrestlemania History?
Apart from the obvious answers, I've always had a oft spot for Vince vs Hulk at 19. Significant opponents, it felt big, very animated match, Piper return out of left field. Just a really fun spectacle all round. Even the finger up on the stretcher job - it was fantastic.

Wrestlers or Acts You Hated But Turned The Corner On
Hate is a strong word, but I certainly wouldn't look forward to watching John Cena matches. Sometime around 2009 he started to win me over.

NXT TakeOver Toronto/WWE Survivor Series Weekend
I have no issue at all with the match outcome, none. Having sat through the original Goldberg run as it happened, I'm a big fan of the man. I've defended him plenty of times here and spoken about some of the great matches and angles he has had. The man is believable and in terms of the TV persona: he was the unstoppable monster. Brock Lesnar was designed in many ways (2002) to be their answer to Brock - the man received Goldberg chants for quite a while. On TV they will probably play up the fact Brock hesitated to go on the offense once he had him in the corner. I found the outcome to be dynamic, fun, shocking and it now opens many other doors. The one thing I have issue with: why did his lad go topless!? In the spirit of Ultimate Warrior wearing the baseball cap on Raw that one time: it just makes you stop and go, huh?

Speculation on the WrestleMania 33 card
Sunday will go a long way into determining whether we see Goldberg on the card. I hope Sunday is a huge success for him personally. I do not want to see Hulk Hogan back in any capacity.

Vader Claims he has two years to live
Will pretty much just echo this, hope the big man pulls through.

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?
That's like my dog needing put down and me not letting the vet do it though.

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?
When this thread is locked one day, can the final post simply read; "Yes", to answer the question in the topic title.

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?
For an empty arena match...

The greatest cons in wrestling history
Blaustein was already filming with the WWF in 1997 though. I posted the Nine Legends Expansion Pack trailer here the other day and have since checked it out: both Blaustein of Beyond the Mat and Paul Jay of Wrestling with Shadows are on it. In it Blaustein says he was planning Beyond the Mat from 1994. Also worth noting Beyond the Mat came out AFTER Wrestling with Shadows, which certainly wasn't quietly launched: it was on mainstream TV channels across the world. That kind of blows your theory to hell. In the Nine Legends Expansion Pack (such a shit gimmicky title for what is basically an audio commentary track, albeit a good one) Paul Jay goes into deep detail about the problems between he and Vince after Montreal and how WCW got involved in the picture.

Shoots Review and Preview thread
There's a new pack of Nine Legend interviews out. The film itself was really well made and a great watch so I'll probably end up checking this out as there are some interesting names (apparently Robin Leach talks 80's WWF) but I think it's safe to say these are only audio interviews over the phone, and the "fancy" trailer is to compensate for there being no new video footage. I think box in box video footage could have been nice, even if it were Skype. The website says "commentary track" so that's what I'm expecting.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4
Poor Mark Madden lol

Paige and all that
Which is the problem, and the line that contradicts, or rather exposes your argument of "chill out" as not only simplistic and lame, but stupid and backwards. I hate drug culture. I'm aware of the pockets of people who do them which can be wide ranging and I never wanted a part of it. Being "young" does not mean snorting lines of coke by a toilet and getting a dry vagina. When you have the world at your feet, or even if you are just trying to find your footing, it's a stupid decision in my opinion.

Was bringing back the Cruiserweight division a mistake?
Saw this interesting quote from Dave back in the summer of 95:

Was bringing back the Cruiserweight division a mistake?
I don't think it's PR? I don't think they would invest all this time and money to appease a few fans who wanted a CW division (the world wasn't exactly crying for it). I think it is just a case of trying to add some variety to a massively long show. Will it last? I predict not, for reasons already set out in this topic elsewhere. I enjoyed the CWC a lot, but they haven't upheld the pace / style from that and the presentation certainly does not benefit from a larger (and at time indifferent) crowd. I wish them all luck and hopefully some guys can get to live out some dreams and make some money, but I'd say enjoy it whilst you can.

Daniel Bryan vs The Bear, finally released!
God I love Daniel Bryan.

Shoots Review and Preview thread
That Todd Gordon interview looks like it could be fantastic.

Wrestling books that need sequels
Bret has spoken about releasing a book of random chapters / stories from the original draft. I'd settle for that. Easily, my favourite wrestling book of all time was his.

The Jim Ross Is A Grouchy Hateful Vile Human Being thread
Has anyone here ever heard his old WCW sponsored radio show gig? I remember trying hard to find the one where Vince appeared to make an announcement right at the very end of its run but never had any luck. Surely Ross must have each episode, I'd love a "Christmas Special" or something where they are re-aired instead of his podcast.

Wrestling and the "shared universe" concept
Was never too big a fan of SS, because so many of the falls would result in DQ's and countout finishes in order to protect many.

Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard
Lining up to get to this soon and I'm very excited because I have loved previous Prichard content and the late 80's / early 90's WWF is the era I find the most interesting.
