  1. You're missing the point. NOBODY is trying to say he was a great in ring wrestler or super duper top draw. They are saying he was a larger than life personality who entertained a generation at a special time in wrestling, which isn't a rewrite, it's accurate.
  2. Benoit had such an excellent 1999, that him entering the WWF climate in 2000 was a zenith for me in terms of anticipation of a debuting talent.
  3. Agree with Sean. As long as the lines are clear in who the good and bad guys are and you're emotionally invested, it's all good. Heat is one of my favourite films. I understand the DeNiro was he bad guy and Pacino was the good guy. I knew where the lines were drawn, but hell, I got a kick of out of both characters as I was completely invested. Things don't have to be so black and white.
  4. RE Ditches post from PWI, basically the psychology is similar to this then.

You could use that bad boy as a ruler.
  6. Dibiase to his credit has always stuck to his opinions over the years. You never hear Ted go about face on a subject. That said, he is a respectful guy. He isn't going to go out there and start bashing the Warrior in death. This is one of those things where the importance of wrestling is put into perspective: it pales to comparison of life. In time, I'm sure when mentioned he will speak about the nature of his ring work and views of his conduct again, but this will be the wrong time and place, Dibiase is too smart to come across as an asshole and I don't believe he is one.
  7. True story: I remember ordering a Pizza Hut the day I watched HHH vs Steiner. The pizza was the best thing about the match.
  8. Watching the David Benoit video interview which is kicking around the Internet. What a weird watch listening to Benoit's son trash Dixie Carter, speak about how he never received is Dad's final pay cheque, relationship with Jericho, trashing Raw... just odd. He seems like a proper smarky little weirdo. He supports his Fathers legacy quite strongly. It's not my place to comment on this as obviously (and thankfully) I can't relate to his situation. But I can comment on his face... it's creepy.

Because some parent can't afford two belts? And decide what's the point in just getting one so scrap the whole idea and buy a lame Kofi Kingston face T Shirt instead? Seriously though, the two belts thing wont be sticking around forever and we all know it. They might as well use one belt now as to not make the current seem "old" soon enough. There should be one symbol of excellence everybody fights over... not two.
  10. Sad news if this happens. She's like a sexy Sean Mooney to me
  11. I think he is rated just fine. He is recognised at his peak of being an awesome wrestler who could go with just about anybody. He wasn't the best on the mic, but was far from the worst. His summer of 1999 stuff with Kane / Undertaker really allowed him some good time on the mic and he fit into his role perfectly. If anything, he was underrated as being a viscous little shit in the ring when he was heeling it up and laying his stuff in.
  12. I've long wished this was used more in tag wrestling. It would really increase the drama of the need for a tag if emphasis was put on the geometry of a ring and the positioning of the wrestlers.
  13. Agreed. The copycat booking is really obvious and silly but it is cool to see Young with the title. I've always enjoyed him, even at his most ridiculous. Yeah, he can be fun. But that doesn't mean he should be world champion. For the most part of his TNA decade he has been presented and booked as comedy relief. How can anybody take him seriously coming out of nowhere to win the World title? It's absurd booking from TNA, as per norm.
  14. A lot of people rate this match. I do highly. It stole the show, nobody thought that would be happening at the time.
  15. I haven't watched TNA in months due to how shit the show got. Reading the news that Eric Young is world champion isn't going to make me rush back in a hurry. Jesus Christ TNA...
  16. Totally agree with Dave's points about Nancy Grace. Jim Ross said the same thing in the form of 140 characters.

This is how I feel as well. The "silent foreign menace" gimmick is far out of touch with the culture today. He just seems like a boring performer. I don't watch NXT so I've seen nothing of him there, maybe I'll be proved wrong.
  18. I love Bret, I'm noted in saying he is my GOAT, so I'm not trying to dump on him. I'm just saying he has bashed Warrior for years, seemingly now with an admission it was for no reason which is a huge shame.
  19. Doink beating Crush was a shocker...
  20. For the people who say the Liger vs Muta rematch was better than the original, I just don't see it at all.
  21. Bret just posted on Facebook about how Warrior was not actually a bad guy on reflection and never did any harm to him ever. It's sad so many for so many years were cruel to Warrior only to change their tune now.
  22. Not just saying this to be topical, but it may very well be the ending to Undertaker / Brock at the weekend. That seriously played on my brain for 24 hours. I felt like I had been kicked in the nuts. I'm such a mark
  23. It would still be huge, just the selling point wouldn't be that of the streak (which was a huge mistake in my opinion). I outlined possible avenues above.
