Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?
XPW was just something of its time. When you factor in that their Zenith was an American contract signing between Onita / Sabu for a match which didn't even happen, it sums up what potential it had to be a viable player in the wrestling world. An alternative payday for Indy wrestlers who couldn't find work in the big leagues was all it ever was IMO.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3
He's mentioned many times he has the rights to sell the whole ECW library, that's why he can still sell all of the DVDs on his website and has created new comps. I just question what was it about this lost tape which I 'think' was from late 2000.

About a year or so ago, I believe Tommy Dreamer found a tape of a show from the ECW arena (?), late 2000. I think a trailer of it went up but the WWE took it down. Is this accurate? I thought RF (who put the trailer up) had rights to the ECW library due to a deal he made with Heyman years ago.

WWE Network finally happening
I don't see this as being an issue whatsoever. Of the 99% of their audience who have zero clue that indy groups made a pigs ear of iPPV, that other 1% is smart enough to know we are talking apples and dog shit here.

WWE Hall of Fame 2014
If we're talking Hogan / Nash / Hall as the NWO, Bischoff could induct. Yeah he was a part of them when the angle got running, but nobody would care. It would make sense.

WWE Hall of Fame 2014
Well they worked together every day for another 18 months after that, and as far as can be ascertained they are still on friendly terms, so I doubt it would really be an issue. Yeah, remember, they had already broken up by the time they became an on-screen couple. Having said that, it should be Trish Stratus. I mentioned this in a BR article this week, but remember: They feuded or teamed off and on for pretty much their entire WWE careers. Their first big PPV match was against each other (Fully Loaded intergender trios match in 2000), they were partners for the "She's All That" knockoff story and the tag against Christian and Jericho, they main evented Raw against each other in a famous match, Lita was Trish's retirement match opponent, etc. I defy anybody to watch that Fully Loaded and tell me Trish ever looked hotter than that. Anyway, both Edge and Trish are good shouts. Even Matt and Jeff if it were possible. All four were strongly associated with her over the years. The safe money is on Trish though. Outside bet: Danny Doring and Roadkill.

Outsiders were Hall and Nash. Syxx would wear their shirts though on tapings, like they would wear Syxx shirts on occasion.

Bret Hart vs. Ric Flair
Nah, it deserves to hang around forever. Like a bad smell you kind of really like. It's such a subjective argument Jerry, I wouldn't get worked up about it mate. To me this thread often reads that a lot of people are basing their opinions on 90's Bret vs 90's Flair, not 80's Flair. I think its safe to say there are still a number of people out there who haven't seen a lot of Flair in his prime. Regardless, I'm still pro Bret in this argument. Again, it's subjective, and I just prefer his work

Dixie Carter is such a goof. This image to be represents how much of an out of touch idiot she is in every sense of the word. Dixie Carter is basically the Herb Abrams of a new generation. Only with saggy tits, a wonky eye, less cocaine and more money.

What is bad wrestling?
To me, bad wrestling is the stuff of no significance - pro or con. Orton vs Cena at the Royal Rumble this year wasn't "bad wrestling" because I'll always remember it. Perhaps for the wrong reasons, but that's part of the fun, right? Lesnar vs Goldberg was wrestling at its best in many ways. Carny bull shit you'll never forget. Yes please! Far more memorable than a bog standard match they could of had. Now if they had a Goldberg / Steiner Fall Brawlesque classic, that obviously would have been the ideal situation. But I'll take dog shit over mediocre any day of the week. Bad wrestling = forgettable wrestling.

Which WCW/ECW performer was most negatively effected by their companies closing?
"Sup Terra?" would have been legendary. "Jean Paul! You look jacked! What happened to your accent?" Then slapped Steph on the ass. Buff would still be making money off the retelling of that story in many shoot interview incarnations if this happened.

WWE Hall of Fame 2014
Summer Rae was seeking out Kyoko Inoue videos on her own in developmental. That's cool, didn't know that. I know there was a story about her wanting to study Missy Hyatt not too long ago. I watched the Lita video again, it wasn't as bad, no one called her a "pioneer". Just hope Steph doesn't induct her. Don't need her corporate robot speech she did with Trish last year. I know DDP inducting Jake (if it happens) will work out, but I'm not sure how many casual fans know of their connection. More than a few will wonder why the "diamond cutter guy" is doing the speech. True. But any such worry will be put to bed in a matter of minutes, with DDP explaining why he is doing it.

Which WCW/ECW performer was most negatively effected by their companies closing?
I'll go with Jerry Lynn. A great in ring worker and a decent little interview on occasion. In short, had enough attributes on his trump card to warrant the fans attention. He was on top of ECW, had entered a storyline where he would only be working the main event or not at all which would have been interesting to see had we made it to Living Dangerously 2001. Enters WWE and wins the light heavyweight title on his debut in a stupid move as it telegraphed that he had nowhere to go from there. With the WCW boys coming in, Jerry was utterly left in the shuffle. Had he entered the WWE a year prior, things could have been different. He stated on AOW that JR was high on him and kept in contact stemming from 1997 shots. I just think things could have been different, and he really would have benefited from working with Malenko, Scotty and of course RVD when he came in. In a more carefully structured environment that the WWE was in the year 2000, things could have been different. The real end for Jerry was when the Alliance formed with the ECW guys in the Summer of 2001 and they all got in the ring together... Jerry was nowhere to be seen. As a former World champion of the group and a mainstay for over the last five years, that was a huge slap in the face. Still, he went on to have some blinding matches n the early days of TNA.

Your favorite surprises/swerves/heel turns.
X Pac said in one of his shoots that the ladder match went on too long, and that Savage verbally laid into Michaels backstage.

WWE Hall of Fame 2014
Piss right of with that attitude, she was huge at one point, not to mention fantastic in her roles. She's done a hell of a lot in the WWE to warrant a nod in the fictional Hall of Fame.

Your favorite surprises/swerves/heel turns.
It was great, not least because it was done on the quick due to the Warrior fiasco in 1992. It was as well executed and received as possible for Curt.

John Tenta
I have just watched this and I agree with you that it was a fun match and easily one of the top 4 on the show. Maybe they were so over due to people in the UK liking fat men aka Big Daddy Probably a lot of truth in that actually.
