What are you watching?
I have fond memories of that match, and that whole time period as a fan really. Ki vs Red (I believe it was the show before this, could be wrong) I watched a lot. I wonder how well that holds up?

Only if they started throwing up.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3
Great question, I too am interested by things like this. I still frequent old RSPW posts from time to time. I used to post to the group via my 56K modem with pride.

Guys you "should" like but don't?
He was a solid hand at a time of huge inconsistency in WCW. All the Kanyon Cutter stuff was great television, where he'd run in out of nowhere dropping random people, trolling DDP, it was great. He had solid matches with Mike Awesome, DDP and a host of others in 2000. Nobody thinks he was Bret Hart, but he was a solid hand.

Dynamite Kid suffers stroke...
F4W are reporting that Dynamite Kid has suffered a stroke in England. One of the all time greats, hope he makes a good recovery. I guess it depends on how severe the stroke was... but no news is available.

Bret Hart's sharpshooter. A finisher which finished matches, looked cool, looked painful and lord knows was put on my friends enough times back in school.

I like Dana Whie, but he does come across like a dick at times.

Best Three Consecutive PPVs?
All down to personal taste but Backlash 2000 and Judgement Day 2000 were two blinding PPV's in a row. KOTR after that was a huge let down, and WM2000 prior was a let down also, despite the amazing triangle ladder match and the main event had its moments. The card did have a big time feel however, so you could argue that April - June period. Summerslam 95 is still one of my favourite WWF PPV's, followed by a wonderful Survivor Series with the wild card match, strong undercard and the blinding Diesel / Hart match. Then we had Royal Rumble 96 with a strong Undertaker / Bret match, star packed Rumble and Goldust and Razor going at it.

WWE Midcard Purges
Natalya being some sort of super worker is one of those things where somebody has said it once upon a time, and it gets said enough people actually believe it. Not saying she is bad, by any stretch, but because of her last name people have associated her with something great where the fact is she hasn't exactly carved out an excellent video library for herself. It works both ways: wrestlers get he "can't work" tag or "shit" label because enough people say something without giving it too much thought.

Most boring wrestler of all time?
That is classic.

Ric Flair (sigh)
Came in looking forward to a new drunk Flair video. Left sad.

White knighting is an annoying phrase. Sorry, playing catch up with the previous page.

Interview with a Coliseum Video producer
The leaked King of the Ring 99 cover with the tag "Big Show goes through 7 to become King of the Ring" or whatever it was to that effect, can I see a picture of it? If not, why?

The ass-kickingest matches ever
Vader vs Shamrock in portions. They both seemed to get a little carried away.

Guys who got away with being bad
Trish Stratus got away with being rotten in the ring for a long, long time because she was hot as hell. I'm not complaining.

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?
Because she is a money mark.

mookie revealing sadistic tendencies ITT El Giante had a pretty good match in Japan with Vader. True story.

WWE Midcard Purges
The biggest problem with the WWE midcard is that everybody beats everybody on any given week. Nothing matters! You watch a match and you have zero interest in the outcome as you know it doesn't matter, and chances are there will be a rematch on Smackdown which will be as equally redundant.

Current WWE
Getting a strong John Goodman at the end of Barton Fink vibe from Kane right now which is great.

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?
Odd strategy that, highlighting that you're legit shit, making anyone who bought the hype in the past feel like a dick and breaking consumer confidence on one swoop...

True times a thousand. Rosa's Spanish gave me nightmares at the time. Her valet work was cringeworthy. Meh, hot though. I liked her little wiggle on the ring apron.

Terry Funk
Although over rates, the Sabu / Douglas / Funk match is still excellent and Douglas selflessly credited the success of this to Funk structuring everything.
