  1. Poor Snuka, he is just a simple savage from the jungles, he didn't do a damn thing! *He probably did though.
  2. I think I've only ever watched it once and it didn't live up to years of hype as the greatest thing ever. Not bad though, just not amazing. The post match interview with Douglas and Funk was EXCELLENT though. When Terry slapped Shane, fuck knows how he didn't go down like a sack for real...
  3. Your avatar sums that period up so well to me also! The match was incredible and still holds up today. The addition of Shamrock added to the realism I felt, also.
  4. Morale in TNA must be so shit right now.
  5. Was good to see RVD so over, let's hope that keeps up...
  6. I prefer Jacques work with PCO to be honest - now THEY had some great squash matches!
  7. He wasn't booked as a big star in early 98 though which was kind of the beauty. He was boiling under the surface and that's why people got behind him. When he knocked off Raven (another amazing match) and slowly started climbing the cards, by the time he was nosing up with Hogan, the huge establish star, people had completely suspended their disbelief and wanted this unstoppable rookie to be the one to knock the mighty Hollywood Hogan off his perch. It was like seeing a young Mike Tyson destroy Michael Spinks...
  8. I have a lot of love for Goldberg. One of my biggest pet peeves is when some goof says he was the "Ultimate Warrior" of the modern era, that is to say he had an amazing look, but couldn't go. Frankly I couldn't disagree more. Goldberg vs DDP at HH98 is one of my favourite ever matches, as is Goldberg vs Scott Steiner at Fall Brawl 2000. The latter may even crack my top 10. His ladder match with Scott Hall was brilliant too. He had heated scraps with Nash, Bret, Hogan... the fact is Goldberg could go, he had serious chops, and with the right person he could create magic.
  9. I can recall only one time - at the HOF itself. You will not find any reference to Bret talking about a HOF at any point in 99.
  10. If he ever wrote a proper book, that should be the title.
  11. Man, that shit was super over. From the raised cheering when he'd realise shit was abou to go down, to the W O R M from the crowd, followed by them going, "Huuugh, huuuugh, huuuuggh" with every arm thrust, to popping on the move... Is anything in WWE that over today moreso than a 2000 mid card act?
  12. But this didn't happen, not the way you've just layed out anyway. The meeting was in a park, not a funeral. Bret was advised by lawyers not to talk about Owen or the case at all. Bret asked Vince why he screwed him and seeing as they were friends for years and hadn't spoken since that day in person, seems like a logical thing to come out with... what do you expect one to say to the other, "Hey, do you like cake?" There has never been a report of any HOF mention (HOF wasn't rebooted 'till 2004) and the talk of use of archives came about when Vince pleaded with Bret to return to the WWF to finish up his career. Also worth noting that Bret refused this meeting several times, and finally accepted reluctantly.
  13. Out of KC, Highsports and RF, KC wins hands down. The host seems to get on well with his guests, he appears well researched and the video quality is better. Highspots is the dog shit worst, just beyond awful really, they don't have a clue what they are doing.
  14. Dutch is perhaps my favourite quoteable wrestler ever.
  15. I used the like Kishi walking away from his opponents and then realising they have dropped to the position by the pop of the crowd, followed by a slow turn. It was proper panto!
  16. Sidebottom replied to Smack2k's topic in WWE
I know what you mean Sorrow, hard to believe he has been on WWF shows since 1998.
  17. She really is on here ass isn't she? She pretty much has no options left in wrestling, she really did fuck a lot up. Still, some hilarious photos will be hitting the net soon then, I smell gold.
  18. Dynamite Kid and Shawn Michaels came to mind - incidentally two guys who messed up their backs. The height they used to get was mental.
  19. Don't forget Robert Gibson!
  20. That reminds me of the WWA PPV where he says he likes to have sex with prostitutes when they're in Vegas. Wasn't that the league whose commentary was echoed through the arena speakers? Ensuring every single parent with child would feel deadly uncomfortable at that point? Yeah. Come to think of it, a lot of the WWA crew winded up in TNA. From lowly wrestlers like Joe Legend to the top names like Sting and Steiner. I've always thought it odd that Bret Hart never appeared in TNA also.
  21. All the networks make a killing off the NFL, especially ESPN. None of them are losing money, or even coming close to "don't really make anything at all." I was going to say, that didn't sound right
  22. Mick McManus, to an extent. As well known as the faces from the era...
  23. Edge & Christian, Hardy Boys and Dudley Boyz did a fantastic job of making tag team wrestling interesting early last decade with great characters and great matches that will stand the test of time. British Bulldogs were my #1 team growing up mostly watching wrestling on tapes. The original Hart Foundation were fantastic as well.
  24. I actually found that above trailer nauseating. Like it actually made me feel sea sick listening to random heads and stupid colours praise anonymous people for God know howl ong, I had to switch off after a minute.
