  1. So, anyone else already feeling nostalgic for the criticisms of Cornette in this thread, which already seem so minor in comparison?
  2. The ExposeWrestling account? Good intentions, but absolutely disorganized and haphazard execution.
  3. Yeah, but his career is dead and he's lost everyone's respect.
  4. Is this the account? Exposed with a D leads to nothing. https://twitter.com/ExposeWrestling BTW, @Loss @goodhelmet, can all of this be split off into its own post? Thanks!
  5. Dave Lagana now... He always struck me as incredibly stupid and weird but I never imagined anything like this.
  6. So, does anyone have any detailed sources for any of this stuff? Not questioning the validity, just asking where I can get concrete info. All I'm seeing on Twitter is random lists made by random people. Twitter is a pain in the ass to search on.
  7. GWF Just for starters: - The infamous Bungee Match between Steven Dane and Chaz: Not a great artistic success, but no overview of the promotion should be without it. - The rise of The Patriot: Winning the title but refusing to take it because his opponent's foot was under the ropes, his championship reign, feud with Dark Patriot. - The rise of the Ebony Experience (the future Harlem Heat - Booker T and Stevie Ray): Their angle with Gary Hart, Tag Title reign, and Booker T's eventual singles run. Lightning Kid vs. Jerry Lynn has already been mentioned, and is of course essential.
  8. Good article about Hyatte: (But honestly not as good as @The Thread Killer's original post.) https://prowrestlingstories.com/pro-wrestling-stories/chris-hyatte-wrestling/
  9. Joss Whedon was the king of this. What a fraud he turned out to be. (Not to this extent, obviously, but he wasn't exactly the "woke feminist" he portrayed himself as.)
  10. All it takes is one prominent tweet and suddenly everyone will care. Then more stories of her racism (and her dad's racism) will surface. Can't argue with any of this!
  11. You must have missed the tweetstorm from wrestlers going on the record about Tessa's n-bomb usage a few months ago. No shock there, as nothing about Impact is considered relevant and newsworthy. Like I said, Impact may have good wrestlers, may be a fun show, but it absolutely does not matter and does not influence anything in the grand scheme of things. Not anymore, anyway. That ship finally burned to the ground for the final time when Matt Hardy and Billy Corbin were driven out of the company. What did Charlotte say? Whatever it is, it will come back to bite WWE in the ass hard when a Dana Brooke type finally gets tired of being "held back" and blames protected wrestlers like "The Queen" for her plight.
  12. This is the definition of "the wrestling bubble" - where everything is wrestling. Anyone who uses phrases like "big work" to describe a real-life event really should recoil in extreme embarrassment. It shows such a profound lack of intellect, common sense, and maturity. A lot of wrestlers have really never had to grow up.
  13. Impact isn't relevant. Not at all. May be a good product. May be fun to watch. All of that is well and good, but nothing it does matters and nothing it does affects or influences the wrestling business at large. Those days are gone, probably forever. The fact that the openly racist Tessa Blanchard is champion, and absolutely no one cares - in this climate! - tells you all you need to know about Impact's *ahem* impact. More than half of this thread has nothing to do with his podcast whatsoever though. I've never even listened to it, and I likely never will.
  14. Where is this from, Bubba? But yeah, AJ seems like a special kind of stupid, so it wouldn't surprise me. In all likelihood, it's probably a useless Jaxson Ryker type that no one would ever think of because no one cares about him.
  15. All of this talk of Taker taking on side hustles to make extra money leads me to believe that the Blue Line clothing he wears throughout this doc is simply an endorsement deal - because he's sporting that line 99% of the time, which isn't natural unless it's a paid promotion. If WWE let Taker's contract run out after he told Vince he was done at Extreme Rules, that is sort of semi-understandable. I can only assume Vince was really confident Taker would never join AEW. I guess the Starrcast deal jolted Vince out of that way of thinking, even if Taker had no intentions of ever working outside WWE. I'll even buy that Taker is in the bubble to such an extent that he didn't know what AEW was. Plus, Conrad had recently been on the WWE Network, so there was still somewhat of a relationship there at the time. I assume that's over and done with now, even with Uncle Brucie being #2 and Conrad being a Flair. This Starrcast stuff must be a big moneymaker for Conrad to burn his bridge with WWE, or maybe he was naive enough to think everyone could be friends? Taker forgetting his gear for Mania makes me wonder if the Elias spot was originally going to happen there. With the finale being next week, I wonder if we're going to get a surprise retirement announcement at the end of the documentary, either with the AJ match being his swan song or next year's Mania match and a HOF induction being announced as the Undertaker's last ride.
  16. Even then, it’s going to be business as usual.
  17. I'd take it!
  18. Heyman has been wildly overrated for so long now.
  19. If he hadn't blocked me on Twitter, I would enthusiastically recommend The Criterion Channel to him. Since I can't recommend it to him, I'll recommend it to all of you instead!
  20. The greatest wrestling match ever? I don't even need to answer that. But the greatest WWE match of the year? Easily.
  21. Chops and Flying Crossbody have to be purposeful nods to Flair and Steamboat.
  22. Not sure why all of you are so distracted by the hokey marketing - the match has been very good and I've found it very easy to enjoy it on its own terms.
  23. This is the match they should've had at WrestleMania.
  24. Probably also helps that he has a decade of legitimate acting under his belt.
