NXT TakeOver Portland
Roderick Strong has so little ring presence and charisma that I honestly thought he was a fan at first. (I actually like him, but he comes across as more of a science teacher than a wrestler.)

NXT TakeOver Portland
Because on the 50th anniversary of Howard Cosell's famous call during Frasier vs. Ellis - "Down Goes Ellis! Down Goes Ellis! He is beaten!" - Mauro has scored a knockout punch of his own with his amazing commentary at NXT TakeOver: Portland.

I'm not sure, but I hope it did.

NXT TakeOver Portland
Way to give away the finish, Mauro, by pointing out that Adam Cole is so close to breaking Finn Balor's record reign. (But Mauro is still the best in the business and the GOAT!) I assume this means Cole vs. Balor is next *groan* - along with a Cole face turn.

NXT TakeOver Portland
Belair wasn't involved in the post-match at all, so I think that closes the book on her participation in the Mania NXT title match.

NXT TakeOver Portland
I think we can safely rule it out now. :\

NXT TakeOver Portland
Are you saying WWE is racist? But yeah, I don't see Charlotte vs. Belair happening - even though it would be the far more interesting match. Belair losing to Charlotte so quickly after winning the title really wouldn't help her though.

NXT TakeOver Portland
I honestly wouldn't mind if Belair loses and gets called up after WrestleMania. She's light years ahead of the other NXT women when it comes to character and presentation.

NXT TakeOver Portland
I don't follow... How does Belair's gear portend the finish?

NXT TakeOver Portland
This match would be much more interesting if the result wasn't such a foregone conclusion.

NXT TakeOver Portland
My eyes glazed over for most of this. If it was a classic, I wouldn't know it. I somehow doubt it was though.

NXT TakeOver Portland
Glad I'm not the only one. Heel Balor is just as dull to me as face Balor, and Johnny Gargano feels like the rare example of someone whose main event potential was never fully realized in NXT.

Demi Moore? No, I have no idea either.

NXT TakeOver Portland
This has been fun, but does anyone else wish a Street Fight would actually, ya know, take place on the streets?

Vince: Remember Kamala, pal? Kim Chee is going to come back and put the mask on you. It will possess you, goddamnit, and you'll become the NEW Kamala. That'll be some good shit!!!

I also forgot about his involvement, but his entrance pumped me up like Reebok Pumps!

AEW Dynamite February 12
Also Yul. Ironically, I'm not even familiar with most of these people... My friend has been trying to get me to watch Survivor for ten years now, but she finally got with me with David vs. Goliath because John Hennigan was on it. Wish I had started much sooner! Still, I lucked out with what was apparently an all-time great season for my first one. It was certainly better than the seasons since then have been.

AEW Dynamite February 12
I watched Survivor instead of wrestling - neither card looked compelling to me on paper - so it worked on at least one viewer.

Under-the-radar wrestling book recommendations
I finally read this. A fun read. Some highlights (SPOILERS): - Kofi and Hawkins were Swoggle's best friends in WWE. - Bob Holly and JBL are *gasp* not bullies - according to Swoggle anyway. - CM Punk is a cranky unprofessional bitch. Swoggle got a new phone and lost all of his numbers, so he asked Punk for his number and the number of a musician (?) who was a mutual friend. This set Punk off, who called Swoggle a "user" and even taunted him about being on a future cut list. What a dick! Swoggle later apologized (even though he wasn't in the wrong) and Punk accepted that. However, Punk was eventually standoffish again. Punk has always struck me as someone who has no concept of friendship and doesn't value loyalty. Sad! - Heath Slater once complained about having to get beat up by a midget. Dash Wilder was boo-boo-facing about being eliminated from a battle royal at one of the SaudiMania shows by Swoggle (maybe the Greatest Royal Rumble). Stuff like this confirms my suspicions that The Revival are really their own worst enemy at times. - Khali was lazy and wanted to make as much money doing as little as possible. - WeeLC got a standing ovation from everyone in the back, including Vince. IMO, it's the greatest PPV pre-show match of all time and one of the top ten matches of the decade. Yes, really. - Swoggle's Wellness Violation was because he couldn't piss in a cup in time, not because of any drug failure. Yet, WWE refused to specify that Swoggle did not actually test dirty for drugs. This and other frustrations really paint WWE as a really shitty place to work IMO. Still, Swoggle is grateful overall for his career and getting to live his dream. It's a really compelling read in general, because he goes into what it's like to be a midget (his word, which he says he doesn't mind).

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4
His last name isn’t even Hart though. I like way it’s done in Mexico, where a famous family name has to be earned - such as Colibri eventually becoming Rey Misterio Jr. Teddy “Hart” hasn’t earned shit.

Bret should have banned him from using the Hart name two decades ago. He never made it anywhere and has a rap sheet a mile long.

Is Impact* the best wrestling promotion in history? *(Now TNA again, 2024)
*Groan* This is really a tweet by an official account? Yes, yes it is.
