The Cancellation of Jim Cornette
Bet you wouldn't think so if someone you didn't like - Seth Rollins, Ultimate Warrior, etc. - said it. This kind of hypocritical apologist behavior is sometimes rampant on PWO. "Jim Cornette's real good at the rasslin', so Jim Cornette can do no wrong. Jim Cornette once fell off a scaffold for my entertainment, so he can say whatever he wants." As much of a garbage heap as wrestling has historically been, and wrestling fans still are, Cornette has run out of free passes IMO. He's had one for way too long, and I blame sycophantic wrestling fans and promoters on that as much as anyone else. The ugly truth is, neither of them should have been in TNA at that point, because they were both complete liabilities with outdated booking styles and sensibilities - Russo (1990s) and/or Cornette (1980s) in TNA (mid-2000s) was never, ever going to work, just like Heyman has been a complete and utter abysmal failure on Raw, despite no one wanted to admit that because he's still popular.

WWE TV 11/11 - 11/17 Dark days indeed
Speaking of releases, I'm surprised no one is talking about this... In-character post? I assume so, but who knows. Either way, he's the definition of underutilized. No matter how much you personally enjoy 205 Live, being on that show is a death sentence and not something you should ever wish on your favorite wrestlers.

WWE TV 11/11 - 11/17 Dark days indeed
And therein lies the problem... He's been in developmental purgatory and 205 Live hell for four years. Yeah, yeah, NXT is "main roster" now, but has he even been on the show since it jumped to USA? Can't really blame the guy for wanting to cut bait and seek his fortunes elsewhere. It's a shame there was such a huge disconnect between his awesome Twitter personality and his bland TV personality. Hopefully the two can merge if and when he goes elsewhere.

Agreed. I get that they want to be inclusive and have a woman (or person of color, or whatever it is), and that's great and I agree, but forcing three people in a booth to do it is not the answer. You realize I didn't know you 20 years ago, right? And that part of my post wasn't directed at you specifically (even if I was quoting you) - just more toward a trend I see sometimes on PWO.

J.R. one of the best of all time, period, even if PWO does sometimes like to shit on sacred cows to seem more "intellectual." Joey Styles was great during the heyday of ECW, but I honestly have no idea how well his shtick would age with a re-watch. I like the idea @sek69 posted about Mauro having the entire booth to himself. Three-person booths don't work, even when it's the great Mauro leading them. Even the AEW booth is too crowded IMO.

Newsflash: J.R. had catchphrases too. He knew how to get himself and the talent over. Mauro does the same.

The Cancellation of Jim Cornette
I'm not a huge fan of Joey Ryan's dick flip stupidity, but I like the character otherwise. Anyway, he has a great point here.

The Cancellation of Jim Cornette
Jim Cornette made an unbelievably disgusting comment about Justin Roberts. https://www.webisjericho.com/jim-cornette-makes-distasteful-comment-about-justin-roberts/ Jim's a trainwreck and liability, and unless the NWA cuts bait soon, he will be the reason they don't get a TV deal, monetized on YouTube, or whatever their endgame is.

AEW Dynamite Week 7 - 13th November 2019
My initial instinct was to go with Io vs. Yim because of the superior wrestling quality and car crash Ladder Match stipulation, so why did I stick with AEW? Because I was curious why Jericho and Sammy were getting Tag Title shots and I wanted to see what would happen. In this case, story quality and starpower won the day - and because of NXT's bizarre and pointless WCW-like overrun, I knew I'd be able to catch the last 5-10 minutes anyway, which is always the best part of any NXT match. BTW, speaking of NXT, did anyone notice the way Roderick Strong was fawning over Adam Cole? "Don't you know who this is? This is Adam Cole! He's the NXT Champion. He's the best!" (I am probably wildly misquoting it, but that was the general sentiment.) I felt so embarrassed for Roddy. What a lapdog.

Please... There is no gravity here. There is nothing even remotely resembling quality. Heyman has to know that. If he doesn't, ECW died at the right time and he should be Bischoffed out of a WWE position immediately. Lana clearly knows it though, and she's doing the absolute best job she can possibly do with a script and storyline so hamfisted and illiterate that there is literally no other way to approach the material.

AEW Dynamite Week 7 - 13th November 2019
It is eerie how closely this monitors my viewing habits. All of the segments that lost viewers were the ones I switched to NXT for, and all of the segments that gained viewers were the ones that kept me hooked on AEW and unable to change the channel.

WWE TV 11/11 - 11/17 Dark days indeed
Finally watched this... As you can imagine, it wasn't exactly a priority. I won't defend the storyline or absolutely dreadful scripting, but I will defend Lana's delivery. It was hilarious, over-the-top, and a hoot to watch her work. This is bad, she knows it's bad, and she does an absolutely perfect job with it. Her emphasis on the most unnatural and hamfisted parts of this - "sex" and "Bobby Lashley" (because everyone refers to their lover by their full name) - was amazing. Lana knows she's in a storyline that makes even the worst soap opera look like "Casablanca," and she has enough acting chops to know exactly how this WrestleCrap material should be handled.

AEW Dynamite Week 7 - 13th November 2019
Marko really does look like a baby - a 13-year-old child at most - so in a way, I understand why AEW would want to capitalize on his "youth" while it's still there. Age eventually catches up to all of us, and Marko probably only has a few more years before he looks like a weathered X-Pac type.

AEW Dynamite Week 7 - 13th November 2019
I was going to defend PWO, but then I remembered the poster who had a meltdown because of a few of us dared to say that Kassius Ohno doesn't look good in basketball shorts. On the flipside, Jim Cornette can say the most vile things and he'll still have his defenders here. If Seth Rollins said the same exact things, those same exact posters would be tripping over themselves to vilify him.

I have no idea who or what you're referencing with the Volk Han quote, but if you don't like my posts, feel free to make use of the ignore feature. To be fair, Luchasaurus's injury kind of forced the issue with Stunt. If that hadn't happened, I suspect he would've been in a Jake Hager role (lol at the irony) where he didn't wrestle at all for the first few months or only sporadically wrestled.

NXT is so ice cold that I'm choosing to watch this match instead of a surely superior women's ladder match.

Sonny Kiss is awesome. Shame he's so underutilized. Very disappointing.

Spears is awesome, but even I tuned out to watch NXT because of this Librarians shit.

AEW Dynamite Week 7 - 13th November 2019
I still think Spears was a better hire than PAC, but woof at Tully being anywhere near this goofy-ass Librarians gimmick.
