AEW Dynamite Week 3 - 16 October 2019
Rey finally looks like an adult now. It was always different with him anyway because of the colorful masks/costumes and flashy lucha style.

I'm not saying otherwise, but that is the main reason he's being criticized.

I thought Marko did an awesome job in his match and was booked very well, but I'm not so sure I agree with this... The fuss isn't only because Marko is 5'2 (or whatever he is) - it is because he still literally looks like a 13-year-old child.

According to scuttlebutt, Foxy is now a free agent. No idea if true or not, but if it is... 1. Is she someone AEW would take a chance on? 2. Is she someone AEW should take a chance on? The "rasslin' movez" fans will react with buffoonish snobbery at the idea, but I remember her being a pretty fun character. That's something currently missing from the AEW women's division - plenty of potential with Britt Baker and others in that dept., but nothing concrete yet - so could Foxy fill a void?

Paul E had zilch to do with his fun WWE run though.

Everything you said about Riho applies doubly to Spike Dudley though - he knew how to get over, stay over, and was massively over (much more so than Riho, I'd argue). I'm not saying giving Riho the title was a bad move or anything - she is probably the best option they have right now - but yeah, it definitely feels like a "plans changed" situation.

Riho hasn't impressed me at all. The women's division in AEW is the shits right now. Part of that is definitely because the obvious Dentist/Smiley Kylie direction had to be changed at the last minute after whatever happened with Kylie (insert Twitter conspiracy theories here). Marko Stunt, however, made me a believer. That match was fucking fun. What more do you want? And it's not like he did anything illogical or was portrayed as a world-beater. Far from it. He was used exactly the way he should have been. The Spike Dudley comparisons above are apt.

Is WWE redeemable?
What a difference a few years makes... NXT was once seen as the hip alternative, and it was! Now it's the same old shit. It doesn't help that today's NXT roster pales in comparison to past rosters from the Network era, which means the current NXT "stars" will be mishandled even worse when they're eventually shuffled over to Raw and Smackdown. Balor jumping back to NXT already feels like a non-event, and his title reigns there sucked anyway. Raw and Smackdown are more boring than ever. WWE's longstanding problems can be summed up in two words: Shorty Gable.

Agreed, but in wrestling, such logic rarely wins the day. I hope it does in this case though. BTW, I love your username!

With the bolded text being the key phrase. I don't buy this guy as a cowboy for even a split second.

Because he looks like a WWF/WCW midcarder, circa 1995. John Hawk Bradshaw and Bobby Duncam Jr. want to have a word with their lawyers. Page needs to seriously overhaul his look and gimmick. Maybe being "The Hangman" worked when he was the outlaw cowboy of The Bullet Club or whatever, but it absolutely does not work outside that context. Not even a little bit. Imagine if they had put the title on this goof.

I have a feeling the MJF turn will happen at Full Gear (even though it's too soon IMO because barely anything has been established on TV) and he'll join The Inner Circle.

Unique spot with the tape.

Pac is a channel-changer for me. I actually think Spears and Hager were much smarter WWE castoff hires.

If I were the Khans, I would get Billy on the phone and chew him the fuck out because his employee is an embarrassment who is now reflecting badly on the NWA. Now that Cornette has an NWA commentary gig, he's no longer speaking for only himself.

I think so. To me, it's obvious that The Dentist vs. Smiley Kylie was meant to be the first AEW Women's Title Match.

I'd love that too.

Even though everyone loves dentists, I do think Dr. Britt Baker, M.M.D. should be a heel act.

Is that sort of thing a first for wrestling? Smart if they're actually getting money from that.

What was the product placement? I missed that.

I'm watching AEW this week, but I envy all of you getting to enjoy Mauro's amazing commentary on NXT!

That makes perfect sense! Carry on, gents.

Surprised by the lack of posts... Did John Cena Roman Reigns Rusev Drew Gulak jump to NXT and win the title or something?

AEW Dynamite Week 3 - 16 October 2019
That's unfortunate for Luchasaurus. But yeah, Jungle Boy and Stunt shouldn't be winning. Not every title needs to go to an established vet. They did that with the World Title. With Luchasaurus out, Private Party should probably win.

There's nothing wrong with Alexa being traded, per se (I'd take her over Sasha Banks seven days a week and twice on Sundays). What's wrong is how underwhelming and ultimately useless the "blockbuster announcement" was. Okay, so Smackdown gets Sasha and Nikki. What's next? Who does Raw get? Oh, they can get someone down the road. There was nothing blockbuster about it.
