AEW Dynamite Week 3 - 16 October 2019
As cool as the Private Party elevation was, Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus is the team that needs to be going all the way. I'd be very disappointed if the Lucha Bros advance tonight and end up winning. IMO, the tournament is a lot more interesting without the super-teams in it. Bucks were eliminated last week and it would be nice if the Bros can follow them out the door.

Anyone else watching WWE Backstage? Amazing set, and...that's it. The Alexa-Nikki non-news was a waste of time, and the fact that they've confirmed that Raw can take their picks down the road confirms that this is already going to be another hot mess. I've already tapped out. I think I'm just thoroughly burned out on the stale, ice cold, skews to the over 50 demographic WWE product.

EB is pure class. BTW, did anyone catch the amusing Bix-Satin fight on Twitter last night about writing teams? I think Bix won handily, but that's just me.

This is the conventional wisdom, but how come three-hour PPVs were never a slog back in the day? A good three-hour show, while never ideal, is attainable.

Heyman has been fucking abysmal too so far, if the quality of RAW is any indication. The show still sucks and feels like a torturous slog to get through. Yes, you can point to little things - Cedric Alexander's push, the Kanellis cuck storyline, etc. - but it all gets dropped after a few weeks. So, either Heyman has ADD or the Hand of Vince is still all over the show.

Didn't Bischoff move his entire family to Stamford for this? Wow. Poor guy...

So, uh, Bischoff out and Yes-Man Prichard in. WTF???

That's not the impression I or anyone else came away with, and that definitely isn't how it looked or was presented on TV. If that was Tyson's intent, he didn't convey it to anyone other than himself.

I was hoping for a Cattie-Lacey victory, but excellent match.

Great match so far... Cattie has carried Asuka to her best match on the main roster. Okay, I don't really mean that second part.

Trade prediction? I don't think Bray Wyatt is long for Smackdown, so who from Raw can be traded for him?

Here's hopin' Cattie and Lacey take the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles, baby!!!

"Blockbuster trade." Who could this be?

It's a pointless Saudi Blood Money show. Another fuck finish won't matter in the slightest.

If Fiend doesn't win the title on Halloween, all hope is lost. I don't care about "The Gypsy King," his useless nickname, and his inability to break a pen. Even Asuka or Drew Gulak would've been able to break that pen with ease. Mauro would've snapped that pen in half while coming up with a witty reference about Bic ballpoint pens.

Joe, Miz, and Corbin being drafted so late is genuinely shocking.

Did, er, Tyson Fury try to break a pen three times and fail miserably on live television? Get these useless sports goofs off my TV already!

Yeah, no. Bennett is not and never has been over. Shawn Spears was massively over in NXT, still somewhat over in WWE, and has managed to get over again in AEW. Spears was a much smarter pickup, Cody's friend or not.

Fair enough. I don't trust The Usos or Jeff Hardy either. But I don't put Kanellis in the same category. Painkiller addiction is something else entirely.

I actually think he'd be a good fit for the NWA. Certainly an upgrade over the Eli Drakes of the world. Not sure Bennetts should be in plural though. There's no indication that Maria has also asked for her release. I'm guessing she hasn't, and they plan on living off her income so he can go be a "starving artist" on the independent circuit. AEW really has no room or use for this guy, and I hope they resist the temptation. Then I hope you don't trust The Usos (who are practically orgasmed about on PWO - undeservedly so, I might add), Jeff Hardy, or the hundreds of other addicts in wrestling. At least this guy has gotten clean and seems committed to staying that way for the sake of his family. That doesn't make him an awesome wrestler or hot free agent - he's neither, and I do think his alternative options are realistically limited - so while AEW and NJPW are probably not open to him, the NWA, Impact, and ROH likely are.

Mike Kanellis has requested his release from WWE. I was wondering why his cuck storyline was replaced by Rusev's.

And like I said earlier in the thread, I do.

Correction: Orton was written to win a lot of championships. Brady presumably won them legitimately (not counting the DeflateGate theories, of which I have admittedly very little knowledge of or interest in). Truthfully, the only football I care about comes from the jokes made about the Jacksonville Jaguars on The Good Place. I'm sad that's ending, because you know they would've had amazing AEW jokes too (same owner for both).
