So, Jim Ross and Alex Marvez only work the big shows, or does the pre-show have different commentators? I can't remember if that was the case for Double or Nothing.
  2. C.S. replied to goodhelmet's topic in AEW
Okay, so no point watching this on my new bedroom Roku Ultra then. Thanks. I hope there's a way for B/R Live to monitor these types of issues and correct them in real time.
  3. C.S. replied to goodhelmet's topic in AEW
Is the feed pixelating every 30 seconds or a minute for you guys? I'm watching on my old living room Roku 3 which is a bit long in the tooth but still works.
  4. I think The Usos should have been fired and belong in prison for attempted murder, but that's a whole other debate. Of course WWE is going to be hypocritical and turn a blind eye to certain people while bringing down the guillotine on others like Swann. That's unfortunately the way the world at large works. To be fair though, WWE supposedly does have a zero tolerance policy now when it comes to domestic disputes. Even when Kevin Nash had a domestic incident (with his son, I believe), he was immediately suspended pending an investigation - and that's Triple H's boy we're talking about. As for Swann, I am not really sure what happened there. Keep in mind that there was apparently some incident with Drew and his wife years back, and no one is quick to label him. By all means we should take domestic incidents seriously - I would never want to excuse anything like that away - but I don't know enough about the Swann and Drew situations to offer an informed opinion, so all I can say is I hope the women involved are okay and not stuck in an abusive relationship (whatever happened with Drew and his girlfriend/wife, they're no longer together at least).
  5. It isn't just you. I can't stand Callihan. (I freely admit I haven't watched his Impact run though.) As for Swann, does this make him more attractive to WWE for another run there? Better yet, would he even want to go back and be stuck in 205 purgatory again? Or does his past as a domestic abuser, or whatever happened in that car with his wife, make him Kryptonite to major companies?
  6. Or maybe Heyman was the second choice (which makes a lot more sense to me), and Bischoff was originally going to be asked to take the position for Raw (which also makes sense, given his history on Monday nights).
  7. Link: Wrestling Inc.: Fans Advised To Get Tested For HIV And Hepatitis C After Extreme Indie Event, Promoter Comments You can read the full details above. Basically, fans may have been exposed to blood at an "extreme" indie wrestling event, which featured a "Fans Bring the Weapons" match, a thumbtack match, and a "Panes of Glass" match. The Health Department of Floyd County, Indiana is encouraging everyone to get tested for Hepatitis C and HIV. The promoter responded on Facebook: WOW! This really calls for the CM Punk "Yeah. Ok, pal" gif. I will admit to not being familiar with this wrestling organization or promoter, but it sounds like he's full of shit to me. First of all, do most indies regularly test guys? I doubt it. Secondly, this was their "re-debut" show, so when exactly would these guys have been tested if they haven't been around for a while. I hope everyone is fine, but I'm not buying this promoter's BS for a second. If even one person was infected because of his shit show, I hope he spends the rest of his life in prison for murder.
  8. Jimmy Jacobs and Dave Lagana don't make for a sexy headline though, and that's really what this is all about. Don't fool yourself into thinking there will actually be substantial changes here. Not when the buck still stops with Vince.
  9. Remember that fan who got dragged backstage and unprofessionally dressed down by Bubba Ray? (He's lucky he didn't get the shit sued out of him! Ditto for ROH.) KO invited him to Smackdown, and there were no incidents of any kind. I wonder if KO felt embarrassed by how far his former fed has fallen. http://www.prowrestlingsheet.com/kevin-owens-fan-roh-bully-ray-wwe/
  10. I wonder if Becky is giving Seth Twitter pointers now, but because it's Seth, it comes across as whiny, obnoxious, and sad instead of funny, charming, and biting like Becky. Except, there was wrestling during at least one of the commercials tonight on Smackdown.
  11. "That Indian Guy" was a more interesting champ than Seth is in his current reign.
  12. Crippling insecurity? What are you referring to exactly? I think, though, that this was in response to Seth saying he has the most matches at the highest level because he's in the biggest company vs. those indy schmucks who just wrestle on the weekend and therefore can't compare to Seth "stealing the show" every single night and twice on Sundays...dawg.
  13. Yeah, absolutely no reason to have this match now. It could've been saved for the PPV, where it would've felt like something new and special. Don't get me wrong: I'm glad we got a cool match tonight, but non-title scenarios are lazy storytelling and a complete waste of time.
  14. If that's true, Vince has officially lost it.
  15. Do they really stop wrestling in the arena too?
  16. It doesn't count until it happens in Saudi Arabia.
  17. It sounds like it will be - unless *shudder* Baron and Lacey win.
  18. Nah DAWG, let me dial it up on this boring ass show, DAWG.
  19. I didn't watch this shitbox of a PPV (I don't even have the Network anymore). I'm just chiming in to wish @The Thread Killer all the best.
  20. You guys definitely know more about Deathmatches, Onita, CZW, etc. than I do. It's not a style I've ever sought out, to be honest. In CZW's defense, I was impressed by the storyboarding and architectural designs that went into the Danny Havoc "Viking Funeral" match. That's a lot more planning and - let's face it - thought than I was expecting. I watched the fifth episode - Powerful Women - about female wrestlers, domestic abuse, the Fighting Cholitas, etc. (The sixth episode - The Next Wave of Luchadores - dropped when this one did, but I'll watch it later.) Maybe it was the downbeat subject matter, but I could not get into this episode as much. Still, don't let my mood discourage you, because there's lots of good stuff. A couple of notes: - While never specifically stated in the documentary, JAY RIOS is the USELESS PIECE OF SHIT who abused Mia Yim. His name should be blasted in neon lights, because fuck him, and fuck all of her "friends" who sided with him, didn't believe her, and/or wanted her keep quiet. - Here's the HuffPo article about Mia Yim mentioned in the episode: https://www.huffpost.com/entry/this-popular-female-wrest_b_11269074 - If you're interesting in the Fighting Cholitas, there's a full-length documentary about them called Mamachas Del Ring. I bought it on VUDU a while back with credits, but I still haven't watched it. It's now free on VUDU - with ads. https://www.vudu.com/content/movies/details/Mamachas-Del-Ring/277503
  21. This, good sir, was anything but a disaster!
  22. C.S. replied to FMKK's topic in WWE
Lars will be the answer to a trivia question in five years. WWE wrestlers with as many setbacks as he's had rarely get pushed to the same heights afterward. KENTA/Hideo Itami is the most recent example, but even Dolph Ziggler never sniffed the World Title again after his concussion (unless we get a surprise victory over Kofi on Sunday, which wouldn't shock me as much as most).
  23. C.S. replied to FMKK's topic in WWE
Is it sad that I think the most interesting feud on Smackdown is the one between Sonya/Mandy and Ember over video games and donuts?
  24. Before I post this, I want to acknowledge the great posts and discussion by @The Thread Killer and @El-P. People like them are why I love this board so much. We can agree to disagree, while still having a civil and quite frankly kickass debate where we acknowledge each other's valid points along the way. (BTW, Savio Vega rules! Met him and Miguel Perez at an airport once, and they couldn't have been nicer. I actually glanced up, noticed someone with massive back hair, and said to myself "that looks like Miguel Perez" before I even saw his face. Sure enough, it was.) Anyway, it looks like there's another controversy brewing for MLW. Click on the tweet because there are more comments below.
