Dark Side of the Ring
If anything, I think the documentary skewed in favor of Moolah. Yes, she still came across as an asshole, but the only people calling her a pimp were the family of Sweet Georgia Brown. Even Princess Victoria said at the end that Moolah never pimped her out, despite describing a scenario earlier in the documentary that would imply the exact opposite. Very strange. Wendy Richter acting like she had no idea Moolah was Spider-Lady seems to fly in the face of all logic, so either she's telling tall tales or her comments were edited a certain way to add drama. I'm in the minority in that I thought Bambi and the daughter came across fine, if perhaps a bit too naive. Bambi admitting she was never a star in wrestling, while not making the connection that Moolah holding her back might've been the reason why, made her seem a bit too trusting to me - a rarity in the wrestling business, I would imagine. The Moolah fan was a big WTF inclusion. Who the hell is this weirdo, and why should we care? On a purely business level, you could argue that Moolah should have stepped aside far sooner, but you could also make the case that ladies' wrestling stuck around because she housed, trained, and booked so many women. You could also defend Moolah by pointing that that she had be ruthless as "a woman in a man's world." Plus, regardless of what Moolah has or hasn't done, she still was 1/2 of that equation with Wendi Richter at the age of 60, which is impressive for such a cosmetic industry. As always, the truth is complicated - she could've still made positive contributions to wrestling while also being an asshole or worse. (Of course, there is no defending the pimping allegations, if true.) One thing I will agree with is that a lot of this should have come out when she was alive. Perhaps some of it did, and that's just a false talking point her defenders use? I don't know. But it is true that most of this didn't really come to the forefront until after her death. Maybe this has been detailed in the Observer over the years? But that isn't the same as mainstream publicity.

Why? He's an experienced ref, and one of the very few who is recognizable and has a degree of "star power." Unless they're overpaying him (and who cares if they are), it seems like a solid addition to me. My only concern is that he'd be too old for the job. (Note: The picture in that tweet is at least 10-15 years old. Watch the VICELAND show on the Montreal Screwjob to see what he looks like now.) Maybe that sounds ageist, but referees are required to bump and react.

WWE TV 5/13 - 5/19: Raw is Megaman
No thoughts on that insane Firefly Fun House? Yowie wowie!

MLW Fusion, anyone watching it?
Aries and Low Ki as a tag team, where they're both written to have massive egos and try to upstage each other at every turn, would be fun.

I read the spoilers and will not be tuning in. I'll check out Firefly Fun House later.

You might have a point. Teddy Hart too. While the jury is still out on Austin Aries, maybe Court Bauer has a magic touch with this type of personality?

Austin Aries is MLW bound. Whether this is a good signing for them, I'll leave for others to debate. Speaking for myself, I personally don't bother getting excited for anything he or Low Ki do anymore, because they never last anywhere.

Absolutely coincidental. The benevolent Mistah MACMahon would never step on anyone's toes.

So much for this being any kind of "draw" for Starrcast...

Dark Side of the Ring
There may be something to this, as I thought the Gino episode was superb, BUT I didn't know much about his story going in. The only drawback, for me, was that it went into conspiracy theories a little too much for my liking. I don't even mean the murder theory, but the crazier speculation that he may have faked his own death, etc. The murder theory is not new to this, BTW - Michael Hayes brought it up a few years ago on WWE Network's Legends With JBL show, and I doubt the idea originated with him. Hayes's reasoning for believing an alternate theory - "Gino could handle his coke" - was absurd. In case anyone is wondering why Jeanie Clarke (AKA Lady Blossom, AKA the ex-Mrs. Austin) was featured so heavily, she, Gino, and a bunch of other wrestlers actually lived in the same apartment complex and were all very close. In her book, she goes into detail about Gino's paranoia toward the end. (She also paints a very dark picture of Steve Austin.) My heart broke for Gino's poor, grieving, paranoid mother who thought someone was out to get her too for 30 years. Not being all that familiar with Gino, it really struck me what a tremendous Horseman he would've made. Had he lived, I think that's where he would've ended up.

WWE TV 05/06 - 05/13: Let's just cut 30% of all federal universities' budget
The Revival is selling the hell out of this, embracing it, and turning a negative into as much of a positive as possible. Meanwhile, the Usos look like creepy, perverted jock-asses. Nothing much they can do to redeem their role in this storyline, because all WWE babyfaces have to be as obnoxious and unlikable as possible, I guess.

The right team won. The Usos are DOA as an act. Bad look, bad catchphrases, you name it. I'd rather listen to a Seth Rollins promo. (In-ring, The Usos are still fine.) Remember the rumor that The Usos wanted their release too? Wonder if there's something to that, because as bad as The Revival looks in this storyline, The Usos look worse.

WWE TV 05/06 - 05/13: Let's just cut 30% of all federal universities' budget
They were overselling the hell out of it last night. Is it horrible to admit that I'm enjoying seeing them make the most of awful booking and make themselves look better in the process? Usos look awful through all of this (and I feel for them too, because this is a no-win situation all around). I hope Dash and Dawson come out and blind them with ass cream tonight.

Watching the last few minutes of SVU before Smackdown starts, and man, I forgot what a depressing, fucked up show this is. WWE would kill to have this level of writing and character quality though. I haven't watched SVU in years, only caught the tail-end, and I already care more about everyone and everything on this show than years of bad WWE programming.- Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard
Yes, it was amazing for completely the wrong reasons. But as a viewer, I knew something was up because it felt so much more memorable and hard-hitting than most APA matches (or matches in general). As it turns out, that's because APA was really potatoing the hell out of Public Enemy. Want to hear something even more fucked up? When The Dudleys came in, their first matches were with APA. Of course, APA had to "test" the new ECW guys to make sure they weren't Public Enemy 2.0. They beat the hell out of The Dudleys every night. Bubba Ray and D-Von's response: "Thank you very much." "Respect" in the wrestling business is such a weird and fucked up thing. What was Uncle Brucie's explanation for the Public Enemy match? And yeah, we already know Bradshaw isn't as tough as he thinks. The Brawl for All was proof of that. So was the alleged Joey Styles incident (if it actually happened).- WWE TV 05/06 - 05/13: Let's just cut 30% of all federal universities' budget
Has there ever been a more unselfish top guy than Bryan? He takes a clean loss in a RAW rematch and isn't even on the PPV (as of yet).- WWE TV 05/06 - 05/13: Let's just cut 30% of all federal universities' budget
Wouldn't surprise me if Bryan switches to RAW by the end of the night... ...naaaah! I'm giving WWE too much credit. Edit: Elias was also on the show tonight, and he's a Smackdown guy, so the "rule" is already out the window.- WWE TV 05/06 - 05/13: Let's just cut 30% of all federal universities' budget
Give The Revival credit though for doing this red icy hot garbage with gusto. You can't say they aren't team players. They're embracing this shit 110%.- WWE TV 05/06 - 05/13: Let's just cut 30% of all federal universities' budget
