  1. Wasn't sure if I should just put this in the "Comments That Don't Warrant a Thread" thread, but I ultimately decided that this was newsworthy enough to warrant its own thread (if it's true, that is). Footage: Quote from 2016: “But you never know, I could pop up here and there. Let me explain that to you even better. It’s not going to even be televised, it’s going to be me in a ninja f–king outfit wrestling one of my buddies and nobody’s ever going to know. It’s going to be very ‘Monty Python’ so to speak.” Confirmation? https://wrestlingnews.co/other/it-looks-like-cm-punk-returned-to-wrestling-under-a-mask-last-night/ There's supposedly an Instagram picture of Punk in the same outfit, sans the mask, but someone else will have to sleuth that out.
  2. C.S. replied to goodhelmet's topic in AEW
Now that you mention it, I kinda remember that now. I guess I just took him at face value. Was he at WrestleMania in the Andre Battle Royal? I thought he was, but I could be wrong. If he wasn't, I'm surprised that didn't lead to any speculation.

    Is this it?

If there was talk of Dustin leaving WWE for AEW, I completely missed it. I mean, I expected it eventually, but I thought he was still in WWE. I am genuinely blindsided by this news, in a good way. Should be a great match! Someone else just posted - probably about this, lol - as I was composing my own message, but here's the official announcement and graphic:
  5. Speaking of which, what happened to Pete Rosenberg? He was the only one of these amateur "fan" types I actually liked.
  6. I don't quite understand the gimmick either, but if the purpose is to shine a spotlight on Biana Belair, Dana Brooke, etc. and generate sympathy for them, it's kind of working. Belair at least has proven Sam wrong so far - her match and performance at that very TakeOver was pretty decent.
  7. This episode was as bad as the first one was good. 20 minutes of Russo and Cornette blathering on about each other. They need to get the fuck over themselves more than Bret and Shawn did. What was the “big revelation”? That Cornette and Russo came up with it together and/or Cornette did based on some 1930s incident with Strangler Lewis? Consider me officially underwhelmed. Scott Hall sounded looney tunes, but if the documentary had to give voice to the conspiracy theorists, I’m glad it was at least dealt with quickly. Maybe it’s just me, but I thought Bruce added nothing of interest to this installment.
  8. You're absurd. If this were Charlotte, the reactions would be exactly the same. Edit: On this board. I can't speak for redneck neckbeard Twitter.
  9. Indeed two of the finest knights who ever lived... But I have no idea why you're bringing race into this. If Charlotte acted this way, the posts would be the same. Okay, but I don't think any of that is happening in this thread. Plus, Sasha is about as well-liked as Harper and Ambrose around these parts, and certainly by me. I actually considered Sasha the best of the "women's evolution" wrestlers when they were all first called up, and she's still one of the best today (even if the Boss 'n Hug team oddly lacked chemistry).
  10. Something disturbing about a fake white knight pulling a catchy sounding "issue" out of his ass so he sounds "woke" or whatever. Especially since no one in this thread actually said or implied any of the things you're suggesting. Your post is the first "hot take" ridiculous enough that I actively considered looking for a "block" button on this site. And lord knows I've certainly populated this board with enough strange (to others) "hot takes" of my own. (Even the guy who screamed about everyone "fat shaming" Kassius Ohno because a couple of people mentioned that wearing weird basketball gear to the ring wasn't the best look for him didn't sound nearly as outrageous as your post does.)
  11. Because Sasha's posts are believably from her. Lana posting a random sex clip is so obviously not something she'd actually do, no matter how badly she wants to be fired (or not). Plus, if she really did post it, she would've been canned long before most people were even aware of the post's existence. Damn, now you're making me really want this. But we both know WWE "creative" is too inept to ever give us a storyline with this level of thought and depth.
  12. It turns out Lana was hacked. Why you'd think anything else is a mystery to me. Yes, she has seemingly been trying to get fired for months now, but this is above and beyond even that.
  13. But no one had that reaction when Harper, Tye Dillinger, etc. decided to leave. For the most part, people were very supportive of them.
  14. True, but the difference is, most peope's posts are only seeing by family, friends, and "Mr. Burns." Sasha's are seen by millions. Total apples and oranges situation, and a one size fits all approach cannot realistically apply to the Average Joe or Jane's social media accounts vs. Sasha's. Let's take Sasha out of the equation for a second, @Charles (Loss), and use ourselves as an example... Hypothetical social media post: "ProWrestlingOnly.com is the best and www.f4wonline.com fucking sucks!!!" If I post that, who cares? If you post that, it's more of an issue. The same applies to Sasha on a much bigger scale.
  15. Except, there are plenty of Hollywood celebrities - far bigger stars than Sasha Banks is or ever will be - who manage to maintain a relative degree of privacy. For example, what do we really know about the private lives of, say, Tom Hanks, Mark Ruffalo, or Christian Bale? (Or Molly Ringwald? ) Not much.
  16. I agree it's not our business, but when you post something on social media as Sasha does, it's public and therefore becomes "everyone's business." Right or wrong, that's the reality of social media. She could have easily kept her issues private, as Harper (mostly) did. No one was forcing her to air her issues and face the inevitable judgment and backlash that comes along with it. Even though I think Sasha is probably the best overall wrestler of the women, I would push Alexa Bliss over her every single time. 1. Alexa can cut a promo. Sasha still struggles with this. Can you imagine Sasha with her own talk segment like Bliss has? I can't. 2. Alexa can play face or heel. Sasha has been a mediocre-at-best face, and that's being kind. 3. Alexa seems like she gets the media stuff, ambassador stuff, etc. far more than Sasha. She also doesn't continually embarrass herself or the company on social media.
  17. Well, the reason why people are reacting differently to Sasha than Harper is probably because: 1. Harper doesn't post a bunch of cryptic "look at me" attention-seeking tweets. 2. Sasha has had a much bigger push and many more opportunities (as @SirEdger pointed out), even if we can all agree that she hasn't been pushed as much or as strongly as we'd like. (Join the club, Sasha - you're not in rare company there.) With that said, it doesn't mean Sasha is entirely wrong (she isn't) or doesn't have legitimate grievances (she does).
  18. I don't get the Cattie hate on this board. Yes, I intentionally spelled it Cattie.
  19. C.S. replied to FMKK's topic in WWE
And he doesn't help his case by openly denying that his tweet implied that they threw tantrums, which is exactly what it implies.
  20. This may sound like "bubble" talk, but Gable is someone they could've popped the live crowd with. I'm glad his team with geek Roode is over. Even though WWE probably thinks Roode is the star, Gable has far, FAR, FAR more upside. Update: Heavy Machinery too. https://www.wwe.com/shows/raw/article/superstar-shake-up-2019-results
  21. Yeah, I'll cop to an awful take about Bryan and AJ. Their previous feud was so forgettable that I literally forgot about it. I wasn't a fan of Bryan vs. Roman though. Both of them have had far better matches against others. Although, you're right, the booking didn't help matters anyway. That part, at least, won't be a concern this time around. Edit: I'm not saying it was a bad match or anything - it just didn't strike me as particularly memorable compared to the many better matches they've both had against other opponents. Quoting this because I take peculiar pleasure in @KawadaSmile calling other posters bubba.
  22. I have zero desire to see Bryan vs. Roman in any capacity. People quickly forget how middling their last encounter was. Bryan vs. AJ is the money feud here. Roman is better suited feuding with other opponents. I assume a PPV squash victory over Elias is first on the docket.
  23. The irony is, he'd definitely be on Raw or Smackdown by now. Instead, he's back to using a name even worse than (Adrian) Neville - PAC.
