Under-the-radar wrestling book recommendations
Jimmy Korderas's book is now $5 on Kindle. Likely a temporary sale price, but it's been that price a few times before according to ereaderiq.com. That site's price-tracker alerted me, so I bought it this time. The Wrestling Journeyman: Life and Times of an Indy Wrestler: From History MAKER to History Teacher by Dusty Wolfe is currently FREE on Kindle. This is a full-length book, not one of the weird 10-page articles he sells a bunch of on the Kindle store.

NXT TakeOver Chicago II
I'm in the minority: I liked the finish. No, the stuff with the ref was not the best, but I can kinda see how he'd think he had to stay out of the way in the midst of all that confusion. No blood sucks though. I can't believe I didn't recognize Corino.

NXT TakeOver Chicago II
These "suits" have to be NXT developmental workers, right?

NXT TakeOver Chicago II
Same here. But the last two TakeOver main events have been really special. That streak had to end eventually. I think we'll look back at this one and fondly remember all of the fun moments it had (the wedding ring spot, etc.).

NXT TakeOver Chicago II
I think the match has improved as it's gone on. As good as the last two TakeOver mains? No. An all-time classic like their previous encounter? No. But I'm enjoying it.

NXT TakeOver Chicago II
Well, I've never seen this before.

NXT TakeOver Chicago II
So far, this is good, but not as good as the last two TakeOver main events. I'm kind of burned out on PG street fights though.

NXT TakeOver Chicago II
Aleister Black and Lars Sullivan are both talented, have presence, etc. Neither one of them does a damn thing for me. :\

NXT TakeOver Chicago II
I hope Lorcan and Burch get a rematch and win.

NXT TakeOver Chicago II
Could see a show with NO title changes? I don't see Shayna or Black losing this quickly.

NXT TakeOver Chicago II
I think Dream will do well on the main roster, as long as everyone's expectations are tempered. I don't expect him to ever be a multiple-time World Champion, but I could see him as a major fixture in general. I hate O'Reilly and his worked MMA shit. Always have and I think I always will. I'm cool with Cole and Strong though. Cole bores me to tears, but I like Strong.

NXT TakeOver Chicago II
Got locked out of the board temporarily, but I'm back now. Thanks for your help, Loss! Been kind of distracted, but this has been great so far.

NXT TakeOver Chicago II
Hot Take? Velveteen Dream should win.

NXT TakeOver Chicago II
The Network was acting up. I had to restart after the finish. When I got back on, Lorcan and Burch were still in the ring. Did I miss anything important?

NXT TakeOver Chicago II
Great match. I don't see what everyone else does in the Undisputed Geeks (except maybe Roddy, who is a "good hand"). I was hoping against hope that Lorcan and Burch would win. I've liked Burch for a while now.

NXT TakeOver Chicago II
I didn't get home until 7:50. Was Pat McAfee that lobster-faced dork? Who the hell is he?

NXT TakeOver Chicago II
Figured I may as well start this thread... Here's the lineup: - Johnny Gargano vs. Tommaso Ciampa (Chicago Street Fight) - NXT Championship -- Aleister Black © vs. Lars Sullivan - NXT Women's Championship -- Shayna Baszler vs. Nikki Cross - NXT Tag Team Championship -- Undisputed Era © vs. Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch - Ricochet vs. Velveteen Dream Should be a great show!

WWE TV 06/11 - 06/17 IHOB is Bloods for life
Anyone watching Undercover Boss tonight? That's the show where Big Show doesn't recognize Stephanie McMahon, whom he's known for 20 years, simply because she's wearing a really bad disguise.

WWE Network... It's Here
Which makes them both smarter than Sabu. Seriously though, I watched the clip Thread Killer posted and actually found myself agreeing with Sabu. One clip led to another, and I gotta ask, what the fuck is with Sean Oliver? He always looks like he's ready to fall asleep.

Or Kenny Omega. (I think he'll sign eventually, but certainly not anytime soon.)

Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard
Pretty good episode of the Prichard podcast this week, clocking in at a tight 77 minutes, about AJ Styles in TNA. Yes, there was footage of TNA. Yes, the Global Wrestling Network got a plug at the end (talk about an identity crisis - their streaming serviced is named after a failed cash-for-gold promotion - and the words Impact or TNA are included nowhere in it). I don't believe this was ever covered on the regular podcast, so it should be all new content. All of the news was new - to me, at least, as following TNA was something I could never stomach for long. The show covers only Prichard's time in TNA - from 2010 to a couple of years later - so it's that time period and AJ's departure that are mainly focused on. They talk about the office's perception of AJ at the time Bruce came in, some of the booking decisions, and go into his contract and exit in great detail. They also cover some of the non-AJ stuff going on in TNA at the time, such as Flair showing up to the WWE Hall of Fame while still under contract to TNA. Maybe it's just me, but Conrad seemed pissed off in a non-working way this week. Maybe a big mortgage fell through? Overall, I thought it was a fun listen.

UFC 203: Because CM Punk is finally fighting
Daniel Bryan is a fucking idiot! (Daniel Bryan Says He Could Beat Mike Jackson “On the Ground” in UFC Fight) Even if that's true, he's a goddamned fool for even thinking it. Hello, did he suddenly forget about his brain and concussion issues?

See the bolded for what differentiates him from Alberto.

UFC 203: Because CM Punk is finally fighting
Especially now that Del Rio is putting God knows what up his nose.
