Except, it wouldn't really be the "true main event." It would be in the middle of the show and therefore seem less important and like "just another match" - e.g. Triple H vs. Booker T and most of the Smackdown World Title matches during the last brand split. Still, it's not a bad idea - I wouldn't jump for joy over seeing those two paired together in a World Title match, but I wouldn't necessarily mind it either. What I could really do without is a Triple H match, unless it's Triple H vs. Shane McMahon - as Ric Flair suggested. If those two are going to have matches, I'd rather it be against each other, thereby occupying one spot on the card instead of two. Yes, Trips vs. Rollins is a lingering issue, but: 1. No one cares. 2. Rollins has been a bust as a babyface. 3. There's actual interest in whatever "issues" Shane and H supposedly have.

This Enzo-Lana storyline is so ass-backward and the perfect example of why wrestling is still so dated and embarrassing.
  4. To be fair, the "Vince being afraid Bret would show up with the belt" narrative was around in 1997 too.
  5. Alundra was never really a big deal, but it's Bizarro World to think that Vince reinstated the Women's division in 1994-95 (or whatever year it was), centered the entire division around the former Madusa, and brought in a bunch of Japanese killers for her to feud with. All of that goes so against the grain of what WWE has ever been about. Like I said before, Alundra was miscast as a babyface. She was far more interesting as a heel and a rare example of someone WCW used better (in 1991-92 anyway), even if she rarely wrestled then.
  6. Vince "didn't know" that Bischoff supposedly never would have had Bret throw the belt in the trash because of the lawsuit.
  7. No, I mean the timeline between her first WCW stint ('91-'92 Dangerous Alliance) and Alundra Blayze. She claims she was homeless before joining the WWF. They actually addressed that too. JBL: "Vince didn't know that." Whether that's bullshit or not, who knows, but I am inclined to believe that Vince would at least be paranoid enough to think Bischoff would try something. After all, Bischoff/WCW was already being sued anyway. The problem was, she was miscast from the start as a happy-go-lucky babyface. Anyone who saw her in WCW as Madusa (granted, that was probably a small fraction of the WWF audience) could never buy her as the face of the Women's division - I know I couldn't. I wanted the badass Madusa back (even with a new name). There was a lot of that in the WWF at the time - "Made in the USA" Lex Luger never worked for the same reasons.
  8. The Madusa episode of Legends With JBL was pretty good: - Was Madusa homeless between her WCW and WWF stints? The timeline on that confused me. I don't remember there being such a gap between her time in WCW and her arrival in the WWF as Alundra Blayze, but it has been decades since I've watched any of that stuff. - Excellent point that the Montreal Screwjob might not have ever happened if Madusa hadn't trashed the belt. - WOW at her saying Trish wasn't a great wrestler. Such a refreshing change from the "official" WWE talking point that Trish was the best ever and the pioneer and savior of women's wrestling.

Do you think we'll see James Ellsworth traded to Raw? I can't see where else he can go after the inevitable loss to AJ, unless they milk that storyline with AJ vs. Ambrose vs. Ellsworth at the Royal Rumble.
  10. What a disgrace. There's no way in any era or promotion that a massive megastar like Randy Savage should ever be putting over someone as marginal as Rick Steiner in a singles match. Yes, The Steiner Brothers were a "legendary" (albeit wildly overrated) tag team, but Rick never had nearly the same impact on his own.

First I've heard of that. Not disputing you, just pointing out that the sensational headline got all the attention - like with most stories - and the follow-up and clarification barely registered a blip. It wouldn't surprise me if the majority of smark fans still believe Hero got fired because of his weight - I know I did. So, in light of that, I don't think it's an outrageous first thing to point out.
  12. C.S. replied to Woof's topic in WWE
Why? That was reportedly the reason he was fired in the first place. In this particular instance, it's a relevant topic to bring up. Looks like he's not signed anyway (unless he's swerving everyone with his tweet), so moot point. If he is signed, I can't see him returning as KO, for obvious reasons. Hopefully they'd let him be Chris Hero this time.
  13. C.S. replied to Woof's topic in WWE
I'm surprised Hero is coming back, but I'm always happy to see someone get a second chance.
  14. If Roman doesn't have a spot, I could see him winning the Andre Royal.
  15. True, Undertaker is on Smackdown and Reigns is on Raw, but that's never stopped WWE before - especially at WrestleMania.
  16. Reigns vs. Undertaker?
  17. Ric Flair suggested the following WM matches on his podcast: - Charlotte vs. Ronda Rousey - Triple H vs. Shane McMahon I actually like the second one. There's a genuine issue there (maybe), and because they're against each other, they both take up one spot on the card instead of two. I have no interest in seeing either of them against anyone else on the roster. Even Triple H vs. Seth Rollins holds no appeal for me. The turn was convoluted and pointless, and Rollins has flopped hard as a babyface.
  18. C.S. replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
Ironically, he was a fantastic face before The Shield turn, to the point where most people were questioning if he could ever be an effective heel. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case this time. His entire turn has been bungled so badly, starting with his return where he got a massive face reaction only to heel the crowd right away. He lost everyone for good after that. It reminds me of the terrible Miz and Del Rio face turns. In all three cases, the timing was bad, the motivation for the turn was spotty, and their characters could never "flip the switch." For whatever reason, Seth is still playing the post-Shield version of his character, but as a face. That doesn't work at all. Only Stone Cold could get away with that, and Seth Rollins is no Stone Cold.
  19. C.S. replied to Coffey's topic in WWE
Didn't he kill his parents though? Or was that Kane? Seriously though, the KO example is a perfect one. Everything he does, he does for his family. It's not unreasonable that Alexa Bliss is also more complicated than "total bitch." Shouldn't we be happy that WWE has progressed beyond "catty" as a personality trait for every single female? With that said, yeah, she broke kayfabe, and yeah, it was jarring. But Bryan and Renee encouraged her, so that's obviously what they wanted. When it came time for her to turn her game-face back on, she did just that and heeled it up with relish.
  20. C.S. replied to Coffey's topic in WWE
Alexa Bliss is someone who seems like she was initially meant to be a throwaway challenger, but through hard work and sheer personality over the past few months, she elevated herself. Great stuff.
  21. C.S. replied to Coffey's topic in WWE
Agreed. The match was a snoozefest at first - anyone who doesn't see that, I don't know what to tell you - but the final 10 minutes were a damn great stretch.
