WWE Network... It's Here
You should watch some shoot clips of Al Snow on YouTube, if you haven't already. Completely changed my opinion of him. What a bitter, disgruntled, unhappy little man - and he throws around the "r" word like it's going out of style. Not a good look in today's climate.

WWE Payback
It's not unheard of for an NXT wrestler to go from face to heel, but I don't see it happening. Finn is far too entrenched as a face. If they're planning a main roster run for him as a heel, I expect him to be a heel for a few months in NXT first.

WWE Payback
Predictions: US Title: Kalisto vs. Ryback: This is the pre-show, so the face usually wins. Plus, this match is specifically on the pre-show to punish Ryback for his comments IMO. Winner: Kalisto Dolph Ziggler vs. Baron Corbin: End of Days for Job Jobbler. Winner: Baron Corbin Intercontinental Title: The Miz vs. Cesaro: As much as I love Cesaro, this should have been Ryder's match and spot. 50/50 in my mind, but I'll go with the champ retaining by nefarious means (DQ, countout, etc.), leading to a rematch at the next PPV. Winner: The Miz Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens: Another 50/50 in my mind. Zayn needs the win more, but I expect Owens to get it by underhanded means. Zayn is the "Ultimate Underdog" so he'll live to fight another day. Winner: Kevins Owens Dean Ambrose vs. Chris Jericho: The only reason, IMO, that Alcoholic Lame Dad beat AJ last month was to make this a more credible victory for Deano, who needs a win even more than Zayn. Winner: Dean Ambrose Tag Team #1 Contenders Tournament Final: Enzo Amore & Big Cass vs. The Vaudevillains: Enzo/Cass vs. New Day would be too entertaining. Therefore... Winners: The Vaudevillains WWE Women's Title: Charlotte vs. Natalya: Probably a crazy prediction, but I can see Natalya getting this as sort of lifetime achievement recognition for all she's done. Plus, why trot out grumpy ass Bret only to watch his niece lose again? Not to mention, Flair's bad behavior has to be punished somehow, and Charlotte is the only one who can realistically be "Triple H'd" for that. Winner: Natalya WWE WHC: Roman Reigns vs. AJ Styles: The Gallows/Anderson "intrigue" has been a nice little distraction, but storylines like that in WWE have never amounted to anything major or shocking. Expect the status quo to remain. Winner: Not a good guy, not a bad guy, just THE guy, Roman Reigns, because you're crazy if you think a Southern TNA 'rassler is gonna vanquish The Roman Empire!

What the hell does Arn have to be bitter about? I love Double A, but come on, he massively overachieved in his career.

Bryan Clark and Brian Adams
I'd take Adams. Unlike Clarke, Crush was fairly over and had decent undercard runs on both the face and heel side. In contrast, were either Adam Bomb or Wrath even remotely over? No, not really. Plus, when Adams showed up in WCW, a friend's kid brother went nuts. This was during the Nitro era when much bigger names were showing up every week. Fun little memory.

Fair enough, but no one cares about Graves' character anymore - he's no longer a wrestler and it's not about him. I am all for consistency too, but the commentary was a complete distraction IMO and took away from the match. As for the ragtag aspect (lol), Graves would get the door slammed in his face equally as hard as Drifter if either of them showed up to date someone's daughter.

Same here, LOL. But what was with the abysmal commentary in the main event, with both of the commentators being against Samson? Especially Graves with his JBL-levels of burying. Just brutally bad commentary and a complete distraction during the match. I usually love Phillips and Graves together, but not during the Swagsuke/Drifter match.

Ric Flair (sigh)
I mean, yeah, he probably was drunk, but I wouldn't call those photos compelling evidence... In them, he just looks like a tired old man - which he is.

Wrestling T-shirts
I don't own this one, unfortunately, but it's hard to beat it: Fun little piece: http://whatculture.com/wwe/30-coolest-wrestling-t-shirts-ever I also really like the shirt WWE made for Jushin Liger. It's one of the rare few shirts they've put out that's actually good and cool. (Most modern WWE shirts are are terrible and look like lazy hack jobs put together in an hour by an unpaid intern.) http://shop.wwe.com/jushin-liger-thunder-authentic-t-shirt/W10234.html

Not sure, but if you have Hulu, you can see the entire run there.

So over Stardust. Lamest, most tired act in all of wrestling. There's a reason he's a JTTS now. Bring back Cody ASAP. I hope that promo from Apollo referencing Cody and Dusty was the beginning of the end of Stardust and the return of Cody Rhodes.

Me neither re: Anderson and Gallows, but this has been a pretty decent show so far. For once, every match and segment has seemed to "matter" in some way.

"The Unpredictable" Johnny Rodz (aka The Jobber Thread)
Wasn't aware that his stellar wrestling training included bullying outside reporters for no reason whatsoever, not to mention talking bad about the trainees lining his pockets behind their backs. Nothing wrong with being a tough disciplinarian, but that isn't what I was criticizing at all. His hypocrisy and lack of class are complete embarrassments IMO. Okay, some of it is because he's from a different era, didn't have much formal education, etc., but those excuses only go so far. Yeah, he's a great trainer with a great track record of talent, and like everything else in 'rasslin, those skills give him a free pass with the fans.

RIP Chyna
Were Waltman and Chyna even on friendly terms? I always heard they had a very bad relationship and breakup because of both of their substance abuse and mental issues.

NWA-TNA 2003 aka a passive-agressive way to deal with depression
My thoughts on a couple of things: - SEX = Sports Entertainment Xtreme, right? I wonder why WWE never copyrighted the term "sports-entertainment," as they invented it (although Meltzer says he originally coined the term "athletic entertainment"). - Jarrett was stale and past the point of no return as champion, but even then, I understood the reluctance to switch it over to Raven, who was probably perceived as being one relapse away from being unreliable again. 'Course, why push someone like that to the top of the card in the first place? Lack of better options, I suppose?

Turns out there's nothing to the Swagger rumors after all. He was just tweeting about the last day of the tour. But I agree: he'd go over gangbusters in Japan. Even looks like one of those Street Fighter/Saturday Night Slam Masters characters.

Memphis wrestling question
I have no idea what happened in Memphis, but I remember Bubba Monroe showing up in the GWF for at least one match, and the commentator (can't remember if it was Doyle King by then) constantly referring to him as Sputnik and then apologizing for his confusion because the resemblance was so strong. This would've been '92 or '93 maybe.
