AEW TV 8/17 - 8/23 House of the Dragon
Those quotes are a year old and are being regurgitated as new now.

AEW TV 8/17 - 8/23 House of the Dragon
I do, and I cannot believe everyone else on PWO is actually falling for it. Punk mentioned both Hangman and Eddie Kingston in his promo - people he's feuded with in the past - with both rivalries still having plenty of juice left for them to pick right back up where they left off. Plus, the Punk heel turn has been building for months now, with none of the top babyfaces trusting his sincerity. This all part of the longform storytelling AEW really excels at.

I like the idea of pinstripe pants in general, but they look sloppy on him IMO. Omega being wrapped in foil practically is the look I should have commented on. I can't believe he'd really come back if he was still that banged up, so I have to believe (and hope) they're telling a story with his gear. Next week's show is going to be a banger! I can think of one match that would be bigger. Punk vs. MJF II Doesn't necessarily need the title either (although I'd prefer it with the title) - Mox could easily win and unify the titles after MJF interferes.

Idolo's baseball pants are the shits and totally kills the cool factor of his mask during his entrance.

Workers who never had their best match
Except in terms of in-ring talent, charisma, credibility, aesthetics, believability, and just about every other metric, sure. I'd rather see Rhino throw a potted plant into the wall again than throw Janela across the ring.

Workers who never had their best match
Wha...? Eddie Gilbert had more talent and charisma in his pinkie finger than Joey Janela has in his entire body. The first time I saw Eddie Gilbert, I was glued to the screen because he had presence. The first time I saw Joey Janela, I wondered when time travel became possible and how a 1980s preliminary bum was able to use the technology to show up in 2020s AEW. Actually, scratch that - '80s and '90s jobbers had more personality than Janela.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4
Smart business sense, for Rock and everyone else. What makes more sense? Combining Shazam and Black Adam into one bloated movie where nothing gets time, or getting three major movies (Shazam, Black Adam, Crossover Movie) out of it. Ditto for expanding the Fast universe. Plus, Vin Diesel is a major candy ass who's impossible to work with, so there's that.

WWE TV 08/08 - 08/14 It's the Summer of Karrion Krok
Because in a world where Vince actually liked Hit Row, AJ Francis (Top Dolla) would've supplanted Swerve as the leader within weeks - and rightfully so IMO. Swerve comes across as an indie, good in the ring, good hand, ROH type. Francis, with seasoning and experience, can actually become a star.

WWE is doing a WrestleMania Launch Party with live (?) matches right now.

I'm amazed @The Thread Killer didn't actually kill the thread after posting whatever...that was.

WWE TV 08/08 - 08/14 It's the Summer of Karrion Krok
BULLSHIT! Unsatisfying finish after Ciampa dedicated the match to Harley Race. Are we sure Vince isn't still running things?

WWE TV 08/08 - 08/14 It's the Summer of Karrion Krok
I was hoping the 20-minute opening promos were a thing of the past. They're as stale as can be, formatting-wise. (Even if this one has been pretty decent.)

WWE Network... It's Here
H's recent comment that Vince took wrestling out of smoky bars says otherwise.

Except for... I've heard that some addicts replace one addiction with another. I guess Road Dogg and Drake Wuertz are now addicted to being idiots.

AEW TV - August 3/5, 2022
Orange Cassidy is a future pillar for the company and future AEW World Champion. Jay Lethal's ceiling is career midcarder - and he's a sex pest to boot. Lethal beating Cassidy should never, ever happen. Pretty clear why that's bad booking. Now, if Christian had beaten Cassidy, that would've been brilliant.

Billy Gunn? No. He's never even been the best member of his own team. Christian always is.

I feel your pain. And when it goes grey, you'll have three shades to contend with instead of just two.

WWE TV 8/1-8/7 - Needs more tractors
His new character is basically The Joker, but I agree that the laugh is brutal.

WWE TV 8/1-8/7 - Needs more tractors
Wanted Ali to win, but he doesn't make sense as a Lashley opponent and it's time to heat AJ back up after he's been relegated to a nothing role for months now.

Ric Flair (sigh)
I was half-considering ordering it, but I decided against it. Conrad hiding the roast and other stuff behind an overpriced bundle kind of soured me a bit. We can debate the morality of a 73-year-old man with a pacemaker and drinking problem who hasn't talked to his doctor in months being promoted by his starstruck son-in-law for a final match a full decade after his last one, but I'm of the mind that Flair is a grown man who can make his own decisions - good or bad.

WWE SummerSlam 2022
Awesome show. I feel the highs of Mania were higher, but SummerSlam was far more consistent overall.
