AEW TV 5/18-5/23
Whatever happened, it was a clunky mismatch from the start. Slow Mo Joe vs. Johnny "Should've Been Called Dynamite" Elite was a clash of styles, to say the least.

Where is @MoS with the new thread? I'd start it but that seems like his thing.

WWE TV 05/16 - 05/22 I have jinxed the Phoenix Suns
It was an exaggerated response to your silly post minimizing Sasha's role in Mandalorian because she had "2-3 lines." That alone still makes more famous and relevant than even the top WWE names, period. Star Wars is a worldwide phenomenon. WWE is a niche with a cult following that depletes more and more every year.

WWE TV 05/16 - 05/22 I have jinxed the Phoenix Suns
The Mandalorian and the Star Wars universe are a million times bigger than WWE is or ever will be, so even if she was a background extra with no lines, that would still make her instantly more famous and culturally relevant than any top WWE wrestler.

WWE TV 05/16 - 05/22 I have jinxed the Phoenix Suns
I'm late to the party with Raw tonight, but can't wait to finally sit down and watch my two favorite wrestlers in the whole world - Sasha Banks and Naomi - put on a banger in the main event!

AEW TV - May 11/13 2022
I feel the same way. Unless something ramps up quickly, it will be an easy miss for me. Will AEW still deliver a banger of a PPV? I'm sure. But I'm also sure I can save my $50 and feel fine about it.

WWE TV 5/9-5/15 The Backlash to the Backlash
Cody Rhodes proving once again why he's the best wrestler in the world with a banger against Theory - until Rollins (predictably) ruined the party.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4
Tessa Blanchard... ...but I really hope he's smarter than that. Everyone thinks they're going to be the one to rein in Teddy Hart/Austin Aries/Low-Ki/Tessa Blanchard/fill-in-the-blank, but it always backfires.

Wrestlemania Backlash
Did you smoke some of Riddle's stash, Bubba? This match had zero importance, zero stakes, zero reason to exist. The winners and losers literally did not matter.

Wrestlemania Backlash
How quickly the tide turns. I was widely ridiculed when one of my posts was misinterpreted as me calling Moss a great worker.

I'm beyond tired of fake ECW matches. Is it just me?

Wrestlemania Backlash
Nah, it's a million times better and more coherent than the abysmal House of Black - and I say that as someone who doesn't even love Edge's version.

What's a fucking choice is to run a rematch no one wanted or asked for. Then again, that's the M.O. of WrestleMania Backlash.

Wrestlemania Backlash
Cody reminds me of one of those guys who does okay in NXT but is the kind of wrestler/has the kind of character that blossoms on main roster WWE. Not that I'm comparing NXT to AEW - I'm not - but the step-up in the glitz and glamour of WWE is obvious in both cases.

Wrestlemania Backlash
Cody probably told Randy it's a tribute to him.

The video packages are so damn long I was able to defrost and season my steak before they were done.

Wrestlemania Backlash
I'm not in the least bit interested in this show - no stories, no stakes, it doesn't matter who wins or loses - but I have nothing else to do, so I'll watch anyway with sub-zero expectations and hope for the best. At least this gives me an excuse to cook a nice steak.

WWE Network... It's Here
The Broken Skull Sessions with Cody Rhodes hit the Peacock Network today. AEW gets surprisingly more airtime than I ever would have expected - at least a good 20 minutes or so - but of course don't expect anything controversial, but Cody does provide some interesting insights into the balancing act between being a wrestler and being an EVP.

WWE TV 05/02 - 05/08 I miss Persia Pirotta
Bubba might be right. From Cageside Seats: Samantha Irvin was in the ring announcing her arrival and made sure to say that Evans requested everyone in the crowd show the proper respect and stand up and applaud her as she came out. The fans reacted by falling in line and cheered her like a returning hero, but it seemed at odds with the entire presentation of her in the stories leading up to this. Perhaps she’s still every bit the character she was in the past and we’re going to see that soon enough? Wouldn’t that be something?

I think it should be crystal clear by now that TK never had any interest in keeping the people who were champs before ROH was bought over, either because they're already signed elsewhere or because he wants to remake ROH in his own vision (which is fair enough since it's his money).

All Elite Wrestling
To be fair, they did try with Enzo. Before you say, "But Enzo couldn't work, brrrrrrother," maybe not, but he was still a bigger star than the rest of the 205 Live roster combined.

Triplemania XXX 4/30/22 (Part 1of 3)
Right, he didn't, which is why I asked. Using Adam Scherr, period, doesn't make any sense right now - but NJPW doesn't seem to mind working with assholes and #speakingout cases - and as a big hoss, he would've been attractive to them a few years ago, so who knows.
