Yawn. I'd rather Hangman vs. Christian.

    Christian wins or I riot!

I'd argue what drew was the novelty of curiosity factor of this being ROH's first show after the AEW buyout, but we'll never know for sure, so there's no point debating it. Plus, interesting theory on Reddit: I think we're seeing the Briscoes tonight - not because of this but just because it makes sense.

This is what it comes down to. Those people, at least in wrestling, are proven draws or people who are believed can be draws. The Briscoes don't and never have fallen into that category. Let's face facts: ROH went out of business with them in prominent positions. With a Turner higher-up making a stink, Tony Khan probably (rightfully) thinks they aren't worth the headache - and they probably aren't.
  5. True, but to be fair, I don't consider the current NWA Title to be the same one Dusty won. They're not even in the same ballpark, no matter what the company and its fans may claim.
  6. There's drama about everything on Twitter, no matter what.
  7. It's a new company though. WWE has this weird contradictory philosophy where they assume no one in their audience has ever seen AEW and yet Cody was brought back with his AEW character fully intact.
  8. It's pro wrestling. They're actors. Everyone else gets a free pass for this shit, but because it's Cody and not an in-ring darling like Bryan Danielson, it's suddenly a grievous sin for a pro wrestler to cut a pro wrestling promo and try to capture the emotions of the fans. The crowd ate it up last night. That's all that matters. Like @sek69 said, let's see where he is in six months. That could go either way, knowing WWE.
  9. This is the latest in a rollercoaster of tweets all weekend from Kimber Lee about MSK's Nash Carter.
  10. LOL...
  11. Based on this promo, looks like the rumors are true that they're going to be called The Grand Jury based on a recent WWE trademark filing.
  12. Agreed. But I do love Priest's new look, and I'm excited for the overall potential of their alliance/stable.
  13. Edge > Black by a mile, and I'm not even a huge Edge fan. (Christian was the better member of that team!)
  14. Not sure why MVP would turn on the winner and side with the loser, but I don't mind.
  15. Bron Breakker should come out with Rikk and Skkott Breakker.
  16. Cody had one of the first truly great matches in AEW - if not the first - and it's still a top five or ten match in the company's history.
  17. Sincerity mixed with over-the-top wrestling bluster is the best kind of promo possible. He's leagues ahead of most on the mic, which isn't something I would've said six years ago or even three years ago.
  18. I'll take Cody's sincerity over Omega and Bucks' wink and nod too cool for the room speaking style that's grating at the best of times.
  19. If you love Cody, you love this promo. If you don't, you don't. I do. Either way, we can all agree that we don't want a three-month Rollins feud. Update: Wasn't expecting a handshake. Awesome!
  20. The fans are chanting. Sounds pretty enthusiastic to me.
  21. McAfee with the best Stunner sell ever, spitting out beer on the way down!
  22. First we got Gable vs. Gable. Now Austin vs. Austin!
  23. How the hell was Theory-McAfee better than Edge vs. AJ? I don't know, but it was. Wish this had more time and that less time.
  24. THIS is a decent use of those silly cheerleaders.
  25. Odd take. Theory is pretty good himself. Remember, Bubba, he's only 24 years old. He hasn't even entered his prime yet.
