  1. That is a pretty awesome idea, even if it would've only led to Austin destroying them both on a random December PPV or something.
  2. Cornette is wildly overrated as as a booker and always has been. He gets way too much goodwill because he managed the Midnight Express. Agreed about Bart Gunn. As stupid and misguided as the Brawl for All was, knocking out Doc and winning the dumb thing really felt like a star-making moment and gave him an aura he never had before. So, of course, WWE had to fuck that up and put him on ice for months. Let's not even get started on WrestleMania, where they proceeded to embarrass Bart against Butterbean, who never stepped foot in the company again after that. Then again, I think that was Bart's swan song too. What a waste of time and talent.

Speaking of Dave Marquez and being blocked on Twitter...oof! Wonder what the hell really happened here... I suspect we'll never find out, and it's probably not all that interesting anyway, but still.
  4. I don't know... WWE's jobbers had actual characters and personality - Brooklyn Brawler, Barry Horowitz, Jim Powers, Duane Gill and Barry Hardy, Jim Brunzell (who was a bottom of the barrel job guy by the early '90s), etc. As for the WCW job guys, I always thought Mike Thor would get more of a push. He seemed to have "the look." I never understood why Rip Rogers was a WCW jobber either. With all of that said, the one awesome thing WCW did was that Battle of the Underdogs series on WCW Saturday Night. Bob Cook was pretty great. Mustafa Saed was also in it.
  5. If this isn't proof that Mauro is the true star, draw, and selling point of this PPV, I don't know what is.
  6. An old man shouldn't "get" entertainment presumably geared toward attracting a younger demographic. Explains why WWE hasn't been able to do that successfully in a long time.
  7. Now former co-worker. I wonder if she knew it was coming and had no fucks left to give. BTW, yeah, that NXT logo is a hot mess. Really hope it's a prototype for the next TakeOver. It's still shitty, but as a once-off for a themed PPV, I can tolerate it.
  8. One of the biggest appearances in the history of Impact Wrestling! Mauro Ranallo To Call Kenny Omega vs. Rich Swann Match At IMPACT Rebellion (WrestleZone) Rebellion is now an instant must-watch. MAMMA MIA!
  9. No more GronkMania, I guess.
  10. NXT releases were announced on a different day last year, so here's hoping Velveteen Dream, Jordan Devlin, Drew Wuertz, etc. aren't far behind. Feels callous to actively wish for people to lose their jobs, but it's also impossible at this point to see Dream, etc. without feeling utter disdain and nausea.
  11. Last year's releases fell on exactly the same day too - April 15th. Wonder if it's a tax thing?
  12. Wonder how many of these ladies were released so they could pay Johnny Ace's daughters-in-law enough to come back.
  13. I updated my original post. Samoa Joe is a huge WTF. Bo Dallas was expected but still sad.
  14. THIS FUCKING COMPANY! https://www.wwe.com/article/billie-kay-mickie-james-samoa-joe-mojo-rawley-peyton-royce-chelsea-green-kalisto-tucker-bo-dallas-wesley-blake-released (UPDATED LINK)

I was about to post this, but wasn't sure where. Here are the tweets:
  16. The only way Roddy gets a lifeline is if Daniel Bryan specifically requested a program with him. Even then, he'd be back to catering/Main Event as soon as it's over (see: Gulak, Drew).

Was confused and wondering when Jimmy Jacobs ever worked there. Then I realized you meant Jimmy Havoc. Shame about Ivelisse, but being the female Low-Ki/Austin Aries is not a sustainable career path.
  19. I agree with you, but how is it an upgrade from the Diamond Cutter? Okay, I'll grant you, it's been a while since I've seen DDP pull off one of those in his heyday, but they seem like the same move to me. Do you mean just in terms of the whole "outta nowhere" aspect of the move? DDP did some of that, but Randy definitely took it to the next level.

Doubtful. Miz is a super babyface on Miz and Mrs., no matter what his alignment on WWE TV is.

I like it for things like presenting a graphic of the wrestler's name at cool angles. Birds shooting out of Riddle's ass - not so much. But I think they have the right idea with this. It makes for an impressive, dynamic presentation. Just needs a few tweaks.
  22. Awesome, awesome interview with Jericho. Would I listen to his advice or take him seriously about politics or basically any aspect of the real world? Not a chance! But he has an elite mind for wrestling. The youngsters in AEW are lucky to be under his learning tree. Question: There was news or a clip that Jericho mentioned Sammy Guevara on the show, but I don't remember seeing that on the actual episode. Was it cut or did I just miss it?

Okay, yeah, when people start with the name-calling, that's when I stop bothering to engage. Go to town on me loving Mauro, Christian, etc. too much - I can do that all day long - but this? What is your point? Seriously, what is your point? There is none, from what I can see. Someone quoted a tweet, and I responded with my opinion. Kind of what a message board is all about. You're free to disagree, but don't tell me I'm wrong or "overreacting" for feeling how I feel about something. You saw the humor in that dumb tweet? Cool. I had a different take on it. Look, you obviously don't like my posts and/or me for whatever reason - I'm not sure why - but I won't lose an ounce of sleep over it either. I have no ill-will toward you whatsoever, so I'll end this on a peaceful note by wishing you a hearty mamma mia and I hope you have a nice day.

Well, he is known for his cheap pops. It is the title of one of his books, after all. Fun fact: My original avatar was Flair, but I changed it when I realized someone else - I can't remember who - was using it. Whoever that was, thank you. I think the Mankind smiley face avatar perfectly suits the rounded avatars used by this forum. I think you really underestimate the selfishness and stupidity of many Americans. I'm sure you're right that the audience wasn't quite as national/international as usual, but I think the lower crowd capacity had more of an effect on that than any concerns about the pandemic itself. Just look at all the maskless people in the crowd both nights. Now, maybe most of them were vaccinated, but I really, REALLY, REALLY doubt it. I had a friend drive in from the midwest, so there were definitely some out-of-towners. I hope he'll be okay. I also hope he's vaccinated, but I know better than to ask questions I don't really want the answer to.
