  1. I came on here last night to read about the two shows this week (as the go home to a PPV) only to find this thread as dead as an Evolve crowd. I see Smackdown hit a record low viewership so it isn't just PWO. Stuff is sad Edit: there was a time I when I would have lost it to hear Rey and Cesaro had had a match. That is a massive dream match for me. But now I am completely apathetic.
  2. There is that Rey/Orton match from 2004/5(?) that absolutely rules. His best performance by a long shot. Why we can't get that Orton I'll never understand. He has been a huge waste of potential his entire career. Really don't expect AJ/Orton to deliver anything special. Here's to a flying forearm into RKO FOR THE WIN~! TM
  3. Where does the Stunner now sit in presentation, though? If Cena was hitting springboard stunners to 2-counts why would KO get a win?

I think they're definitely worthy of consideration, though I don't think any of them are actual locks. ArRival gets touted as their best match, but it would be a great injustice to just jump in cold. They have a lot of great spots that play off of each other in their feud. Plus, Zayn is the only guy I recall ever trying to get out of the Cesaro swing mid-move (everyone else took it like a funfair ride). Dude looked like a rat caught in a trap.
  5. I'm honestly more annoyed at how this left Mascarita Dorada (El Torito). He went from building a case as the best mini wrestler to WWE purgatory to all-but disappearing off of the Earth once released.
  6. With full disclosure that I haven't seen him cut a promo or explain what he means, "based" is a term that means you don't care what others think - you just do you. "Based God" is a term from the rapper Lil B, so dropping the D could avoid gimmick infringement.
  7. I only remember two things about Lethal * His promo with Flair *That awful match in PWG against Eddie Edward's. In comparison to the length and highs of his push, has there been anyone in the 2000s more forgettable?
  8. I suggest people rather use the ignore function than continue responding. This isn't a great look for anyone nor the forum for anyone coming in via the main page or Google. This site is great for the knowledge it has, can we keep it that way, please?
  9. "Corey Graves mentions Brock Lesnar. Brock Lesnar is not there"
  10. MLW is running the second PCO/Park match tonight - falls count anywhere. Pretty psyched.
  11. Trying to source dates/video on the following two matches. Been looking for years so I'm starting to think I dreamt these 1) Vader fought wrestlers' minis. The one match he fought Mini Vader and got DQ'd for excessive violence. He proceeded to continually Vader Splash the poor guy. 2) I think this one was a boiler room brawl between Mankind and Undertaker. Mankind runs into a dark room but walks into a bear trap and can be heard screaming from behind the door.
  12. Between this and Mike Tenay's Bandcamp, I don't think I need my Deezer sub anymore. https://miketenay.bandcamp.com/
  13. It's on this episode, 4 20:0
  14. How much of a draw is Okada, though? Will he move tickets relative to a main event level? Apparently Matt Tavern is a great draw so who knows with the local fans. Not sure what else they could do here. An Okada singles would most likely stink with the exception of a couple names. They're definitely not having him pin Rush (Rush may have got the win on Nakamura back in 2013 but I don't see that happening twice with someone as high as Okada). Exhibition trios lets Okada hit all his cool spots and get the pin on Valiente (most likely with Mistico/Caristico shenanigans) so everyone wins by means of everyone really losing.
  15. That's been the NJPW style for at least the last 6 years. Inconsequential or slow (re boring) first half and a crazily exquisite finishing stretch. Those last ten minutes kinda make you forget/downplay the rest of an otherwise mediocre match.

Tyler Bate is 21. Authors of Pain are 24 and 25. Wouldn't the change in age be due to a shift in what WWE look for in talent? Let's be honest, that has changed a lot since the 2000s. Before, it was about making stars and ensuring they didn't become big stars out of their "universe". Now, they seem to favour taking in already produced stars, shipping them around the NXT loop and then bringing them up once they've run their course. There are the odd exceptions (The Shield were 28/29 when they got their push in 2013), but a lot of the current WWE "stars" all started at the same time as the current crop of Indy talent, yet had a much faster track into the main events.
  17. Even then Gable was wrestling before hitting up WWE, though I'm unsure for how long. Wasn't there a former footballer (?) A couple years back that seemed to be doing well? I remember watching some form of NXT behind the curtain type show and it followed him around his day. He was well dressed, had the height/look and spoke eloquently. Wonder where he got to.
  18. The house show matches for Joe/Styles have been quite decent. Nothing earth shattering but there is a nice Muscle Buster/Styles Clash to Forearm counter sequence to close. Will be nice to see it at all in HD and in landscape view. Bryan/Miz though was fantastic. There was a thread recently comparing Bryan to Styles and these two house show pairs would be my go to as to why Styles isn't in the same conversation. Bryan/Miz was super over and Bryan invested the crowd into his spots, milking each moment and playing things up rather than two wrestlers going at it in a vacuum (Styles/Joe). Miz/Bryan is going to be by far and away the best match on the card if their live matches are anything to go by.
  19. Some from me: Hype Manual Crab Snorkel Sterile Mum Erotica Duo Art by Clerk Arena's cogs Each pair is linked in some way. Perhaps as a nemesis, feud, tag team etc
  20. Batista Mockery Gordi, what was your anagram? I never got it. Wrestling something?
  21. I was watching a cologne recommendation video by Cubaknow (as I collect them) when he described number one as " a diamond, its glorious, it makes me want to wear rings on each finger... it's the motherfucking Ric Flair of perfume woooo" 8:54
  22. Pentagon joined with CMLL and now seems to be feuding with Caristico while Terrible & Rush want his blood. Wagner Jr's said his time with AAA is up and he'll gladly jump to CMLL if they call. CMLL is becoming quite the dream match promotion.
  23. OVW 1999, 2003, 2005 Quite a bit of Stampede Early 2000s American indies (+Rev Pro circa 2004) Boatload of NWA Wildside etc etc https://www.youtube.com/user/123SEANWWF/videos
  24. I lost a bet a couple years back and as a result was "forced" to find, watch and rate 50 Kelly Kelly matches. I thought I'd dread it but I was honestly surprised by KK. I won't say she's great but she certainly did do the basics just as well (or even better) than the smark favourites of the time (AJ etc)
