I watched the doc about him back when it came out and yeah he was a terrible guy. Looking forward to watching this episode.

This show was a really fun watch.

They did the definitive chronicle of the Von Erichs story (their "Lamentable Tragedy of World Class" series) as well. So much so that Holt McCallany listened to it before he played Fritz in Iron Claw. They (or at least Jack) were also consultants for the Dark Side ep about the steroid trial, which they also did a huge series on. IMO they are the best podcast in the biz at the moment and have been for a long time. I don't necessarily agree on their takes on actual ring work but that's really not what I listen to their show to hear them talk about. I'm much more interested in their massive historical journeys.

Fascinating is correct. Definitely the best episode of the season to this point.

Both nights when it got to the main event, I said “already?” That’s pretty unbelievable when it comes to big WWE events.

Absolutely. Loved that he had to mope around the ring and watch it.

Felt the same way about the reaction to the main. I think most of the people who really hated it had formed that opinion long before it ever happened. It wasn’t great by any means but there was far too much “worst match ever” hyperbole.

I can’t stand Punk or Tony so I’m amused by this somehow still being a thing.

I enjoyed the show. I don’t really pay attention to the TV or anything at the moment (I believe the only thing I have seen was when Rock beat up Cody in back and said fuck a bunch of times and talked about Mama Rhodes). Sami/Gunther was pretty easily my favorite thing - especially Sami’s montage and entrance and whole Rocky story. I thought Rock was looking and moving way better than he did in the Cena matches and that the main was fine.

They seriously just signed a contract extension like two months ago.

As someone who prefers to watch AEW over WWE, I hope so.

I kept waiting for someone in AEW to have one that really clicked with her but for whatever reason it never happened. I agree with everyone who said she’ll be better off in WWE.

They should do the TNA gimmick of filming a month of TV in front of a hot UK crowd.

He’s also one of those guys who is like 5’10” and looks like a monster in AEW but wouldn’t look like anything special (aside from the muscle mass) in the land of the giants. Obviously there are many more smaller guys now but not that Cage would really be able to keep up with. Back when he was in PWG and he was “Mr Get My Shit In” he was pretty fun as a bodybuilder who can do flips and feats of strength but in the big picture he’s not built for being a top guy.

Well it’s AEW and half the show is ironic callbacks and stuff at this point.

Cage was signed many moons ago.

I’m an unironic Christian fan, too. This run has been amazing. Even his performance in the “press conference” was hilarious.

I was going to go to Collision for the hell of it last weekend in Chicago but a $20 ticket became over $40 with fees so we said fuck it and stayed in the hotel and watched Payback.
