Wrestlemania Weekend 2018
Gage vs Thatcher at Bloodsport. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I think it might be hard to top the first show of the weekend for me.

Wrestler's Political Affiliations
There seems to be an odd phenomenon on some parts of the American right where 'government' is somehow distinct from its coercive institutions. So people somehow manage to simultaneously argue that 'Big Government' is bad but having a gigantic military budget beyond anyone else in the world is good and necessary. For sure. Even more troubling has been the emergence over the past 13 months of the part of the nominal “left” (or hashtag resistance, rather) that, aside from offering no opposition to runaway military expansion and imperialism, loves to lick the boots of other sectors of the military/police apparatus like the FBI, the Woke CIA, and the NSA as part of a hope that a retired FBI director is going to save the world and take us back to the magical time before 11/8/16. A time when everything was terrific and that oddly had no bearing on what happened that day.

WWE TV 02/13 - 02/19
That segment was just so good. Those are my two favorite dudes.

Has wrestling gone overboard with the various streaming services?
What the fuck. Fortunately there is no shortage of services to subscribe to.

Dave Meltzer stuff
I like him a lot more as Prince Puma. I think he wrestles at least somewhat differently in that role. Granted, the matches that all stand out the most are the Muertes matches and that might just be a case of him having a base to work with instead of someone with a similar style to force a lot of overall excess. I liked his match with Rey in what, 2016? But that was Rey. I do think he might hit another level in NXT as they streamline what he does a bit more. He has a lot of tools. He had a good match with Rey in 2017, too. As Ricochet instead of Puma. I’m a huge believer in Ricochet.

Current New Japan
I was reading the Voices of Wrestling Best Matches of 2017 list and was just shocked to see the Kushida/Ospreay BOSJ match wind up at like #8. Obviously it’s just my bias but there’s no way I could make a serious MOTY list and include an Ospreay match on it. I even liked that match (preferred the 1/4/17 one, actually) but it definitely made me realize that I am out of touch, as well (though I know VoW mainly is a NJPW-centric site).

Booker T hates Corey Graves now? Is this a real thing?
I'm not. I don't care at all. But I do wonder what the logic behind it was, because it does nothing positive for Booker T or Corey Graves. I guess it's just "boys will be boys" and "boys having fun" but it seems completely pointless to me from a business standpoint - assuming Booker even cares about building his radio show and either of them care about their credibility. Maybe they don't. If so, more power to 'em - "ha! ha!" they sure "got" us. “I’m not owned! I’m not owned!”

Agreed with all these points. Especially Becky. Unfortunately the good things on the list get a lot less time than the bad ones.

I love the Trent match from Power Struggle as my under-the-radar pick.

WWE TV 05/02 - 11/02
I just finished this weeks show. Other than Usos and Rusev Day, its a generally unwatchable show week-to-week.

2018 pro wrestling is insanely interesting
Yeah, I have the Hulu no commercial plan and it’s just a solid 90 minute show. It’s usually just got really minor stuff edited out (seems like this week it was the Balor Club/Revival segment), sometimes shortened entrances, etc. I usually wind up finding out what was edited out when I listen to one of the review podcasts about the show. I pretty much have to psych myself up to watch an 80 minute Smackdown episode right now, though.

I actually think Raw is super-easy to watch if you watch the Hulu version, at least over the past few months.

Indy shoot-style matches
I can’t wait to see how it goes. All I know is Nick F’N Gage will probably be there and that made my front row purchase worth it.

WWE TV 05/02 - 11/02
Awesome. (Pun not intended) That said, after last night I really want to see Cena/Braun at Mania. I’m sure Miz/Braun would be hot but just personal preference and hope of not seeing Taker.

Aren’t they still doing Asuka/Charlotte, or did I miss something?

Team Booker vs Team Graves at Mania in a 10 man tag.

Heyman to manage Rousey?
Paul Heyman is most likely the source of this “rumor,” if I were to guess.

It's like having a master satellite dish in 1983 that let you watch all the territory TV and big shows whenever you wanted! It's such a crazy time. And that's without going into how easily accessible so much great old-school stuff is now, but that's off-topic. I had said to a friend recently that if this stuff was this accessible when I was a kid, I would have never gone to school. It’s amazing.

ROH announces details for their streaming service
There’s a lot of copyrighted music on those shows, so I’d bet that would be one of the roadblocks.
-
Current New Japan
I’m guessing it won’t because of Bate/Seven being in it.

ROH announces details for their streaming service
I would say there’s still time. I think after the Floslam debacle, people are going to be less likely to drop a lump sum with such a limited archive. To me, that’s the obvious key to the whole thing. Especially when there are a handful of great services already available at the same price point. They only have Omega for a few dates a year so it’s pretty much going to draw based on the Young Bucks, I guess. And the one guy that was a really big Rhett Titus and Mike Bennett fan or wants to relive the glory days of the Cornette era.
