2:00 eastern, isn't it?

Wrestle Kingdom 9
I read on the F4W Board a lot of issues people were having with Flipps. I'd advise buying through your cable or satellite provider.

Dolph Ziggler
The whole meta aspect of his character is what I hate. I used to be a very big fan back in late '11 / early '12 when Punk was beating him all the time. He had Vicki with him and was able to get more heat. Now, a lot of his heat seems to be more of the "we are sad that you're being booked to lose" variety than anything else, and I just despise that. I'm not a huge fan of his work, either, but that's not is biggest issue (and my tastes have changed to where I'm not a big fan of guys taking huge bumps for no reason). The biggest problem is the character, or lack thereof.

Shoots Review and Preview thread
It's the same old shit every single interview he does. He certainly knows his audience, though.

Wrestle Kingdom 9
I'll probably just download and watch UFC on Sunday. The commercials are well-produced but I still think that fight is a one-sided beating, so I'm just going to skip it. I'll be buying Anderson's comeback fight, though.

Are current matches just not as memorable or up to par as previous decades?
The thing I love about watching stuff from the past is that I don't have to wait to see what happens next. I can just keep going. I don't know whether that means that I think matches are not as memorable today. I think it's just human nature. I don't think the stars are as big, but it's partly nostaligia, I'm sure. That's why nothing really feels like a "big fight" to me. I just have a colder relationship with current wrestling. There's more of it, and it's more readily available and easily disposable.

Current WWE
Yeah, if there's one time where his WWE sources go out of their way to work the sheets, it's Mania season. It also seems pretty obvious that they love trolling the biggest Daniel Bryan fans.

Dave Meltzer stuff
I don't know what a gamergate is.

<Split> NJPW World - their version of the WWE Network
I'm up in the air about which I will order. I'll probably wait to make sure they don't get an app out for Roku or PS3 before I order. If they don't, I'll get the English version.

Current WWE
Clearly, The Vigilante Sting will make it all better.

Dave Meltzer stuff
Or if the commentary was bad. Would he "bury" himself or Jim Ross? Now he can get all his "Matt Striker sucks" points written out in advance. Just an odd decision to even disclose it. Will be difficult to look at his analysis of the broadcast and not think it has been colored by him being passed over.

Dave Meltzer stuff
When Ross was first announced, I really was expecting Jarett to be chasing that smark money hard and have Dave providing instant star ratings during the broadcast. As much as Striker sucks, I think Dave would have been a terrible idea. Whatever happened to Josh Barnett? Wasn't he the original rumor?

Charlotte or Sasha Banks opinions
I know it's the cliche answer, but of course Dave is pushing Flair's daughter over Sasha or anyone else. I'm pretty much of the Sasha is better now/Charlotte has high upside (though that doesn't mean she has more than Sasha) opinion.

Wrestler Snapshot (Which nominees to focus on?)
I second this one.

Current WWE
I would sort if agree with this, but there were a bunch of morons chanting "MARKING OUT!" that were so fucking lame. It was during the Balor stuff (which I already thought was silly/awful), so maybe that tainted it for me. Other than that stuff, I thought it was a good show.

CM Punk on Colt Cabana's Art of Wrestling
That's going to be a non-issue for anyone under the UFC banner, unless something is amiss with his physical. They have buddied up to the AC's all over the country. It's not a fly by night promotion like I assume the one you referenced was (though I may certainly be wrong).

Punk to UFC
I'm... Slightly lapsed? I used to watch every piece of MMA there was back when there were more promotions (Dream, Stikeforce, WEC, Pride of course, etc.) but have really had my interest wane since UFC put everyone out of business. I still watch about 80% of the PPV's, but usually the next morning after downloading it. I can't remember the last time I spent $. Maybe the first Silva/Weidman fight? I pretty much never watch the free shows anymore, and you couldn't pay me to watch a season of The Ultimate Fighter. Combination of things led to me falling out, probably similar to the ones that make people care less about wrestling: old favorites moving on, being oversaturated, not feeling any attachment to the current crop of fighters, and stuff like that. It's just been a really cold product for a while because they have no huge stars, aside from Ronda Rousey, and she's going to move on soon enough, herself.

Punk to UFC
If he makes it to the second round, that would be a pretty huge accomplishment. It's not easy to last 5:00 against someone attempting to cause great bodily harm to you. I expect him to get thumped in short order, but I can't wait to watch it. So, UFC is off to a great start here (though I am admittedly already a fan and have been for several years).

Punk to UFC
Then it's the issue of "why is this 1-0 fighter in the UFC," too. They certainly have hired tomato cans before, though. Eddie Sanchez and Joey Beltran come to mind. In the case of Beltran, he turned out to be much more than one after he beat Rolles Gracie (who was expected to choke Beltran out). I basically view this similar to James Toney. Except James Toney was legit, just old, out of shape, and broke.

[1991-02-26-FMW] Atsushi Onita vs Tarzan Goto
Thought this was good. The headbutts were gnarly. Even if they didn't blow the finish, it certainly felt blown to me, which is all that matters for me with the language barrier. Also can't say that I love no-selling a piledriver onto a table. That stuff keeps me from saying this is great or my MOTY or anything.

The Ross Report
He's usually a great interview. Was great with Dave/Bryan, as well as Wade/Bruce.
