  1. I got the basic idea of the story, and the whole 2 count turned into a 3 count deal kind of preserves it. Not a great match for me, but The tension boiling over at the end was well done.
  2. Joshi is not really my thing, but Aja vs. Bull has become one of my favorite joshi feuds. Crazy match for sure and one of my favorite joshi matches.
  3. I was kind of annoyed around this time of year with how Arn's music changed so much between shows. Good match though, Arn really excelled in the 10 minute TV match format.
  4. I do not like Kendo. He does a fine job of what he does. It's just not what I want to see a wrestler do. Porky is awesome and we definitely need MORE footage of Super Porky.
  5. I like the more toned down Hansen character here as well. I'm pretty sure Japan was his main focus at this point and it would have taken a big commitment from one of the Big 2 to get him away from that.
  6. Love the random craziness here. Breaks up the wrestling and promos very nicely.
  7. I'm all for Eddie as promo man of the year. He's been killing it since he got back to Memphis.
  8. Loved this. Lawler vs. Gilbert in a barbed wire match and there is no footage??!? So wrong.
  9. Great, great TV match that makes me wonder how many very good to great workers just never got their shot. Rogers should have been used so much better.
  10. Gilbert really does rise to the occasion here. It could just be Gilbert is more of a natural heel and Lawler is a natural babyface. Loved getting the full match for sure!
  11. This was a Hell of a lot of fun. Heenan and Brother Love really make this work by going as far over the top as they can to sell the obvious lies.
  12. I am not a fan of putting the belt on Funk if he isn't around full-time. I would agree that Funk and Gilbert should be reversed in this situation.
  13. I don't mind Ted not pressing for the win until late. It plays perfectly into how cocky he had to be going into a match against a rookie like Dustin. Great Stuff.
  14. I'm pretty sure this matchup will never go wrong with me. Hash getting most of the offense works because Choshu's offense is ALWAYS better in short, violent bursts.
  15. Good match, but even a well-executed spotfest is going to rank pretty low for me. For what it was, there in't going to be a much better match out there.
  16. I thought this was a good, fun tag. I'm not sure if it's more the point Childs made, my connection to the wrestlers in AJPW is stronger, or the one G. badger made, this didn't have the underlying direction it needed, that make me think it's not overly great.
  17. I'd definitely be interested in a Doc/Orndorff PPV match. I think the whole thing with the finishes is more because of the massive shift in pro wrestling during the late 90s. We went from mostly non-finishes in the marquee matchups to everything having a finish to keep the fans watching. Where we are at in 1990, it's very much an 80s atmosphere from a booking standpoint. Keep the TV matches non-decisive to make the house shows (or PPVs) a big deal.
  18. Billy is one nutty dude. Portland was such a perfect place for guys like him.
  19. Given the pattern of 1990, if you are under the radar and deliver on a consistent basis you are gone. So how long until Sherri hits the road?
  20. Long match that was not bad, but seemed a little half-hearted by all of the participants for a good portion of it. I was not impressed.
