  1. I didn't mind the post-match promo. It set Sting apart from Flair. Sting is a humble guy who will give credit where it is due (regardless of face/heel). Flair would have gone on and on about how Sting couldn't get the job done. It makes sense. Match is perfectly fine, but they rushed Sting back to get the strap on him so I get it being short.
  2. Really good little brawl and then we set up Hansen returning to Japan. This was a lot of fun and I'm glad I watched it.
  3. Fuchi and Kikuchi is tough to go wrong with. Fuchi is still actually kind of nice to Kikuchi here, so that's kind of weird.
  4. I thought it was a much better match than the crowd did. Doom's power offense looked really good against the RnRs. Not as flashy as the MX vs RnR, but still effective.
  5. I think it was mentioned in another thread involving this build. WCW needed to assure their fans that there would be no screwy Horsemen interference ending here. So much so that they forgot to hype the actual match. That was pretty much left to Flair and Sting. Sting seemed more interested in being a good company man and hyping the stips more than the match.
  6. Anyone else notice the Midnights get some face heat both in their entrance and the FIP? And that finishing sequences was so damn good. All three were viable nearfalls in a Southern tag, so it works so well.
  7. Very good match for two guys as seasoned as they are. Harley's neckbreaker was about as picture perfect as it gets. Tommy selling the piledriver was a lot of fun.
  8. Better match than expected from Callous. Both get to look good and the crowd eats it up. Strange this is happening in WCW.
  9. Iceman having the fan support he did was counterproductive. Jarrett does what he can with it, but this was poorly thought out.
  10. Tatum with a new way of looking at the whole situation. Dundee can never get past being so short can he? Especially with how tall Tatum is. Dundee gets fired up, but can't quite compare with Tatum's promo.
  11. Craig really needs to go. Jeannie is so great at being a total bitch, but she could use some gloating over helping to injure Toni. Austin is a monster in this promo, really showing what he could (and did) become.
  12. Gaylord going along with the chant was hilarious. I really like how all of the segments of this show connect.
  13. Looked like a half-assed execution of a karate form. But for wrestling it will work. Don't know that I would condemn Vince for this. It would show a shocking grasp of contemporary pop culture for Vince. He always seems stuck at least 5 to 10 years behind.
  14. Dundee and Lawler together again. Everything is right in Memphis, TN. Eddie Gilbert is pretty amazing in this also.
  15. This is another in the great tradition of Memphis studio interactions. Some of my favorite things about American pro wrestling happen in this studio. Gilbert refusing to help was incredible.
  16. The crowd totally makes this worthwhile. Their anger is palpable a few minutes in and they just continue to pelt the ring with garbage the rest of the way. Zeus has the worst looking strikes of any wrestler ever.
  17. Kawada still seems like he's trying to break the juniors mold here. He's got more heavyweight things he can do, but ends up going back to his juniors highspots against Jumbo down the stretch because they are what he has left to do. It ends up costing him the match, which may or may not be good booking. More likely it's just Kawada didn't have what he needed yet to carry off a finishing sequence without going back to where he had been. Misawa is still half Tiger Mask. He's got some of the signature Misawa traits, but he also seems like he's trying to figure out how to go about distinguishing himself from the mask. I liked the later part of the match where he goes wholesale into using elbows to stop Jumbo's comebacks. You can see he's finding something there. Jumbo is great, letting Misawa and Kawada have enough to look good, but giving back in spades when it's his time. Yatsu is just....there. He doesn't seem to want to let Kawada do much at all besides hit him a few times. Kawada seems like he gets a little pissed off about it.
  18. Post-match blows away the actual match. The chinlock killed pretty much everything early and the women didn't get near enough time to make the premise work.
  19. That kick to the back of Tessa's head was extremely well-executed. And highly uncomfortable. Tatum continues to be the biggest douche of 1990, which is quite the accomplishment. Oh yeah, I even said verbally (despite being the only one in the room) "there is no need for a ref bump, let alone two."
  20. Owen screwed up big time setting Mutoh down for the moonsault. Then Mutoh didn't have enough time to move before he had to stop. Brilliant. Either way, some nice suplexes by Owen to go along with a meandering match.
  21. I'm pretty sure Valentine was wearing sunglasses so he could hide the fact that he was almost in tears. Jimmy seemed to be getting into it though.
  22. I second getting rid of Craig. That guy irritated me from the instant he replaced Marc Lowrance. Great promo by both Austin and Jeannie.
  23. Pringle does well, but it's jarring after him being the PBP guy last week. I know the promotion was on a budget, but really? You couldn't hire a guy to announce for one week? Bring somebody from Memphis side?
