  1. I like serious Lawler promos a lot. He gets a little too wrapped up in his own clever insults when he's burying people.
  2. I just can't help thinking that Sherri is one of the lost highlights of late 80s/early 90s wrestling. The Rose/Somers stuff in AWA and this put her on the Heenan level of managers around this time for me.
  3. Loved this! Kerry slamming Borne onto the hood of the el Camino (TWICE!) had me popping. Don't even care that it was a DCO because what came after was sooooo damn worth it. And come to think of it, what came before was right up there too.
  4. Lowrance forgetting what mace was called stood out. Jeannie is really out to get Adams, must be all kinds of bitter after the divorce.
  5. Tatum, Dundee and Tessa play their roles perfectly here. Not sure I buy into the Southern "that ain't no lady" idea behind this kind of stuff, but it works for the fans. In wrestling it's the babyfaces who do the sexual assaulting. Says something for the industry doesn't it?
  6. One of the few times I have enjoyed Kerry. He really brought the hate here in a way that translates well to...reality? Which is pretty strange for Kerry at this point. It's like a Warrior promo that makes sense.
  7. Borne is such a fucking PRICK here after he starts whupping on Chris von Erich. Hopefully Chris knew how to bump before coming into this because he had to learn pretty damn fast if he didn't.
  8. Travis works completely different, but just as effectively as a face. I'll echo him as a lost worker. Fun tag and I get that Gossett is big. But let's lay off him getting so involved.
  9. For not having a true rudo team this match sure had a lot of hate. Satanico and Cruz getting into it was great. Atlantis with the blind twisting senton for a fall was fucking nuts. Azteca and Dandy get into it a little bit, but not as much as I expect they will going forward.
  10. It's incredible how everyone is treating Robocop like some real thing. I'm trying to figure if it's a good kind of incredible or bad kind.
  11. Post-match was incredible. Sting should probably stay away from the Horsemen until his knee is better. He's proving to be just as dumb as Chris Champion in the USWA.
  12. Not much to like about the 'Birds at this point even with a fired up Michael Hayes. You just know there's going to be a match and Garvin is going to be involved. Cornette sucking up to the RnRs was absolute gold.
  13. Wrestling needs way, WAY more stuff like this. Send a guy out with some class and dignity who has done a lot for the promotion. And he is sill pushing all of the current angles and urging fans to continue showing up over taking the limelight. You will be missed Mr. Lowrance.
  14. Really good trios. I was waiting for the dive section of the match and they threw me with Dandy accidentally backdropping Charles onto Atlantis right into the finish. MS1 vs. Satanico looks like a feud I could really get into.
  15. Tatum really lays on the creepiness with Tessa. Tessa is allll kinds of trashy hair metal hot. And she manages to look empty-headed pretty well, then does a good job of being scared of Tatum as the match progresses. Tony Falk needs to stop getting in the way. Some good punch exchanges between Tatum and Dundee.
  16. One of his less out there promos. I mean, it's still out there, but you kind of get what he's going for anyway.
  17. Flair's ponytail is incredible. Great promo too, but that ponytail....
  18. Jake cuts a good promo again. My question is whether or not Vince knew he could stick Jake in garbage angles and he'd get them at least somewhat over.
  19. Damnit Cox. Now you have me thinking how incredible it would be for Atlas to come in as a heel in the Memphis side of USWA. Christ, him working a lengthy program with a babyface Lawler would be ludicrously good.
  20. Martel kills it here. Even if the matches suffer from him being a heel, the promos get a huge boost.
  21. Valiant and Lawler carry off their roles perfectly, but the crowd still won't boo him. Loved Valiant's "Go fish!" line.
  22. Valiant can't even keep Lawler a heel, which is making Lawler's heel run seem like it's got a short shelf-life. Fun stuff from Valiant though.
  23. I'm not entirely alone in thinking Lawler was getting a little too over for his own good here then. He's going to need to turn soon. There's no way we can pretend he's a heel very much longer like this. I knew as soon as they mentioned the 10 minute time limit we'd see overtime. But they executed it well and it gets across what needs to be gotten across.
  24. Seriously?!? The Pillman match hyped here is not on tape??? Well, we can imagine how amazing it was anyway. Good promo and Woman in 1990 is absolutely stunning. She still looks good in 1998-9, but you could see how the industry had worn her down a little bit. Here she is just gorgeous.
