  1. Something about a blowjob babyface video about Jeff Jarrett strikes me as very wrong. It's not bad, but I have such an anti-Jarrett bias I couldn't really enjoy it.
  2. Brown and Lawler both knock this out of the park. Imagine if the USWA had some real money behind it.
  3. Wasn't sure this should have been booked 12 days before the Clash, but the finish is right for the build. Crowd is amazing and I'm pretty sure they should have stopped in Johnson City way more often than they did. I will also echo the Buzz Sawyer praise. He's been incredible so far.
  4. I think Sting's comment about "the little Stingers" does more than just tell you why he's not going to be a Horseman long. It also tells you why he reacts to women the way he does. He _can't_ be a guy who goes all in on the ladies the way the Horsemen do. Sting's the guy all the kiddies love and he's going to have to have a much less adult reaction when confronted with a beautiful woman to keep that status. Great stuff with tension being hinted at by the rest of the Horsemen interrupting at the right time. I'm guessing the Gilbert match, as much as I'd like to see it, didn't make it for lack of inclusion in the overall narrative.
  5. After the BJT stuff, I was not expecting Fuller to be such a competent musician and singer. Great segment and a lot of fun.
  6. Have to echo the love for Vince as a hype man. I strangely want to see this show despite knowing better.
  7. There's something to be said for being able to turn Jake the Snake into a beloved babyface without sacrificing key elements of the character. Jake made it look easy, but it seems to me that would have been a challenge.
  8. I think we can amend something here. Bobby Eaton - great worker. No need to put "tag team" between great and worker. Flair as a face could have carried WCW much farther than heel Flair at this point for sure.
  9. I can't disagree with any of the above. Honestly it's a shame the Rockers had to implode the way they did. Michaels the tag team specialist is so much better than Michaels the singles wrestler.
  10. I liked this a lot. The pinfall attempts take away from it for sure. But it is a hyper-intense war with both guys beating each other senseless, so maybe that explains the pins.
  11. Hogan tagging himself in was 100% in character and it's a great setup for the feud, especially after the Rumble incident. Otherwise, Perfect makes this match.
  12. I wanted to love this match. But Liger needed to have more offense sprinkled in through the beatdown. Sano was on top for way too long to not put him away if that was going to happen.
  13. Good promo from Dusty, but no surprise there. Somewhere to stick it is some kind of way to end a promo. Especially after the whole "year of the woman, Rick Rude has been treating women bad" stuff.
  14. Dudes needed to not be here. Douglas murdered the ending and didn't really impress with anything. Ace didn't fare any better. Freebirds seemed like they were looking for face reactions, odd. Jimmy Garvin was thankfully not overly involved. Midnights/RnRs stuff was good, but too much bullshit around that to really impress.
  15. Nothing really new to add, but that airplane spin by Savage was incredible. As was the tumble. For two guys in midcard Hell, they put on a pretty good show.
  16. I'm no huge fan of "hide the chain" Lawler, but it had to be done. There was no way he could have worked an actual wrestling match as long as this went on with JYD otherwise. You work with what you've got.
  17. Was not a fan of this. Long stretches of not much interesting at all happening killed it for me.
  18. I would count myself as a Marc Lowrance fan. Also, after a few things on this set I am a Billy Joe Travis fan. The guy is a stellar heel. Ending angle is all kinds of awesome. This ranks only behind Tenryu's meltdowns so far for me on the set.
  19. I _love_ Tenryu in this match. Whatever Takagi did to piss Tenryu off, don't ever do that. Tenryu goes after Takagi like a maniac and makes another throwaway tag something special. Oh and he also goes after everyone at ringside not wearing a Revolution jacket. God damn I love Tenryu!
  20. Tenryu is really the only reason to watch this. He seems like he's finally finding that "Tenryu" character and beginning to explore it where in 89 he was still just "the guy chasing Jumbo who is slightly angry about it".
  21. i'd agree that the match could have lost 5 minutes and been much better. It was a perfectly good match for being a set-up to the 6-man match though. And we get a beleivable false finish to go with some incredible spots towards the finish. Works for me.
  22. I thought it was a really good TV match. I don't think the point was to have a blow-you-away great match, so what they did was just right. I agree that we could have used a little more Arn comeback at the end, but that's quibbling.
  23. So can someone describe to me why Brutus was ever considered a babyface or over with the fans? Not seeing it.
  24. I thought Heenan was brilliant here. Slick and Sherri did really well also. Hart didn't sound real convincing, but that would have been hard and I've never been much of a Fuji fan.
