Tag promotion = lots of use of tag finishers when I can. Have to drive it home every way I can.

Heh, most of my roster I didn't know much about before this project. I just took what little Montreal results I could find and pieced together where the guys I got would fit, then added in all the new guys. Also spent a few hours looking for footage just to get an idea of how as many guys worked as possible. Lafon was just a rookie and you probably know the Tonga John/King Tonga team as Barbarian and Meng. I'm pretty sure I'm anachronistic on some things with Lafon and Tonga John. I'm working in aspects of the Montreal promotion with my original idea of a tag team heavy promotion and gradually working the new guys & my favorites of the Montreal crew up the card at this point.

JYD & Dibiase feuding seems right on the button. The Fantastics working together is awesome, I'm a huge Fantastics fan.

Flair against Sheik and the Freebirds vs. the Russians are great feuds.

I'm liking Bob & Dutch going at it so far.

Jacques, Sr. talks about the problems Armand Rougeau has had with the Midnight Express and Mad Dog Lefebvre. Their opponents, Ettiene Bergeron and Frederic Tremblay are awaiting them in the ring. Armand Rougeau & Rene Goulet vs. Ettiene Bergeron & Frederic Tremblay Rougeau and Goulet dominate from the start, working together well. They put away Tremblay when Armand hits a diving fist drop after tagging Goulet and Goulet follows with his scorpion claw hold. Rene Goulet over Frederic Tremblay by submission with a scorpion claw hold 4:26 The camera cuts to Jacques, Sr. and he goes over the remaining matches on the card after praising Rougeau and Goulet for their teamwork. I talk with Dennis and Randy a lot and they haven’t once mentioned to me being scared. It seems like you don’t like to talk about anything involving your precious sons and their belts. The masked team the Invaders makes their way to the ring to a mixed reaction from the crowd as the Gerrard Brothers wait in the ring. The Invaders vs. The Gerrard Brothers The Invaders take this time to showcase their in-ring skill with a little offense by the Kays peppered in. The camera cuts to the ring as Richard Charland and Dan Johnson walk out of the back to boos. Jacques, Sr. notes the Quebec Heavyweight Title around Charland’s waist and the dishonest way he won it. Louis Laurence and Tony Ricco come through the curtain and the crowd begins cheering. Jacques, Sr. talks about Laurence being robbed in the Montreal Forum. Charland taunts Laurence with the belt and refuses to let the referee take it for around a minute while pushing it in Laurence’s face and pointing at it. Louis Laurence & Tony Ricco vs. Richard Charland & Dan Johnson Johnson and Ricco start, Ricco taking control and tagging in Laurence. Several quick tags later Laurence tosses Johnson into Charland’s corner and demanding a tag. Charland drops off the apron and stays just out of Laurence’s reach on the floor. Johnson takes the opportunity to hit Laurence in the shoulders with a few forearms and start working him over. Charland is quickly back up on the apron to take the tag and the champ and his partner work Laurence’s neck over with clubs, chinlocks, stomps and chokes. Laurence finally tags Ricco, who comes in swinging. Ricco ducks a clothesline by Johnson and rolls him up with a surprise schoolboy for the three. Charland jaws with Laurence from ringside post-match, well out of reach. These two young men will be sharing the ring tonight with Mad Dog Vachon as they take on the Tongan Terrors and Mad Dog Lefebvre. Any thoughts on tonight’s match gentlemen? Brunzell: We’re going to take care of business tonight, Jacques, Sr. After what the Tongans did to me two weeks ago I’m ready to tear King Tonga apart! Lafon: Lou Albano better hope that we don’t take his “monsters” out of the equation tonight. If we do, there’s a good chance he ends up being the one bleeding tonight. The crowd pops. Jacques, Sr.: Well, I am no fan of Mr. Albano, but I don’t know if I wish that on him either. I can understand where you’re coming from though, after what happened. Lafon: The Tongan Terrors and Albano both deserve any kind of punishment that comes their way. Jim and I mean to dish out as much of that as we can. Brunzell: We were talking to Mad Dog Vachon earlier and he’s got the same idea as we do. In fact, let’s bring the man out now. Mad Dog Vachon comes out to a HUGE pop. Brunzell and Lafon shake hands with the original Mad Dog after he enters the ring. Vachon: We’re not here to win a match tonight. We’re here to put down a few rabid dogs! The crowd again pops big, cheering until Mad Dog Lefebvre and the Tongan Terrors along with Lou Albano start down to the ring. Jacques, Sr. is back at the announce table in time to run down the Tongan Terrors actions so far that have gotten them removed from the building for the next week. The Can Am Express & Mad Dog Vachon vs. The Tongan Terrors & Mad Dog Lefebvre The Mad Dogs are in first, brawling, back raking and biting each other back and forth wildly. Lefebvre tags out to King Tonga and the brawl is on with Vachon again. Vachon is visibly tiring when he tags in Brunzell, who comes in on fire against King Tonga. Tonga seems like he is getting the better of the brawl until Brunzell hits a running elbow smash after being whipped to the ropes and following up with European uppercuts. King Tonga tags in Tonga John, who brawls with Brunzell and then Lafon. The match starts to break down with 4, 5 and 6 wrestlers in the ring as head referee Adrian Desbois does his best to keep order. Things settle down, if Lefebvre and Vachon brawling across the ring and biting one another can be described as that. Lafebvre goes down and comes up bleeding before mounting a comeback and biting Vachon in the corner before beating him down. Vachon comes up bloody and both stagger to their corners to tag out. Lafon runs into a standing big boot by Tonga John to set up a short beating at the hands of all three members of the other team. Brunzell takes the tag and takes care of both Tongans while Vachon makes a beeline for Lefebvre. The Mad Dogs brawl around ringside with Desbois trying to get them back on the apron while paying attention to the other wrestlers. King Tonga is the victim of several double teams by the Can Am express, but they can’t quite put him away. Vachon is tagged in and he waits for King Tonga to tag in Lefebvre to attack. The Mad Dogs brawl, bleed and bite around the ring while the Tongan Terrors and Can Am Express brawl around ringside. The ringside brawl spills into the crowd after a clothesline from Tonga John to Brunzell and Desbois has finally had enough and calls for the bell. Mad Dog Vachon over Mad Dog Lefebvre by pinfall with a piledriver 16:30 Vachon keeps biting Lefebvre in the ring and Lefebvre manages to slide under the ropes, but Vachon won’t let go! Lefebvre staggers into the railing to break the bite and Vachon continues attacking a bleeding Lefebvre with forearms and punches. The other four continue to brawl , clearing out three rows of fans. Desbois and the other two referees come out with security and several lower card wrestlers to try and get things under control. The Mad Dogs are again on even footing after Lefebvre rams Vachon’s back into the apron and the two brawl towards the back. The Can Am Express and Tongan Terrors are finally separated, Lafon and Brunzell agreeing to leave ringside. Many of the fans around ringside are taunting the Terrors and Albano points at one particularly vocal fan, who gets decked by King Tonga and drops like a ton of bricks! The fans anywhere near the big Tongan wrestlers immediately back off and one of the referees attends to the fan while everyone else left out in the arena begin to remove the Tongans, who fight every step of the way, from the vicinity of the crowd. Jacques Sr. Spends this entire time frantically trying to call the action until the King’s punch is thrown. The broadcast ends with Jacques, Sr. condemning Albano and the Tongans for their actions as they are pushed back into ringside.

Hansen has said that the way he wrestled was he would go at guys and see how they reacted, then wrestle accordingly. I always appreciate that about Hansen, he doesn't necessarily have one or two structures he likes, he wrestles everybody different because everyone reacts different when he goes at them.

I think everyone has made great points in this thread, but Loss going off really takes it for me. Great stuff! He touched on something I had noticed for months but nobody else seemed to pick up on. WWE tropes slowly but surely making their way into the NXT booking as Vince & co. took more interest in it. Sure the wrestling in some of the matches is better and has some meaning, but watch NXT from 8 months ago and compare it to now. Tell me that they haven't tried to homogenize it more and more to where it looks like an hour long version of Raw or SD.

Rene Goulet vs. Tonga John Even watch with Goulet countering John's brawling with technical wrestling until he couldn't take it anymore and started brawling with the big Tongan. Gilles Poisson vs. Dave Kochen The bigger Poisson was quickly subdued by punches from Kochen, but used his weight to elan on Kochen and force a rope break that Poisson took advantage of.
