  1. The rolling cradle off the bat took me right out of the match. Had trouble getting into it after that and the stretch run kind of brought me back. Manami Toyota is not my favorite wrestler.
  2. Takako took a Hellacious beating and at the very least kept coming back. I wish she'd been more aggressive in trying her offense when Kyoko wasn't around though. Kyoko looks great trying to do the impossible here.
  3. I am with Pete in the sentiment that this is a welcome respite from the joshi need for highspots on top of highspots. I also agree that this was really disjointed and dragged a lot in spots. I liked it regardless and it is insane how hard these two tag partners go after each other.
  4. I think a lot of people miss the cheating by Rude on the roll-up. I swear he had a handful of tights. The selling by both is amazing, the way Rude uses the (wtf is your problem Bill Watts?) illegal top rope move as a gamble and it pays off is awesome. Steamer's comebacks are incredible, easily one of the best WCW matches ever.
  5. In regards to the complaints about this being last, I would say Watts put that angle in there so this match had to go last, the match was not put last because of the angle. Watts wants Doc & Gordy headlining, simple as that. The match was kinda puzzling in the way that garretta mentioned. The MVC can do crazy, hectic finishes really well too, so I don't get why it went the way it went.
  6. I question the need for all these bumps on the concrete. That kind of thing can shorten careers. Was this match at least partially booked to highlight just that? Jesse makes a completely valid point that Sting is an idiot for being in a match like this as champ. All my quibbles aside, fun proto-hardcore match with lots of actual logical transitions and counters.
  7. I liked Arn telling Dusty off as well. We had heard the rest before.
  8. Don't know that babyfaces bullying women (even heel women) is ever really okay. Good enough interview from Nikita that pretty much guarantees Steamer never gets the title off Rude. Hooray?
  9. Hall does carry himself remarkably well for not really having been in the limelight at this level before. One of the highlights of the WWF for the year so far.
  10. I thought it was pretty good for a guy who had just recently changed character so much. He got across the narcissism well and kind of set up a feud with Bret.
  11. Maybe the toupee was there as a kind of different thing in a very similar (but always fun) act that had been going on a long time. These promos are all so good it's hard to pick out this one from most of them. I'd say the one where they trashed Beckley, West Virginia was the only one that really stands out in terms of content. Not that they aren't really good and they probably contributed to the company's success (or what they had), just they tend to be pretty samey.
  12. The joke about the half price tickets to Memphis was....something. So the Moondogs DO stil wrestle in Memphis. Booking seems really all-over-the-place with Eddie's return and this while the Moondogs are still around.
  13. I was wondering how much this would expose the whole Brian Christopher thing. Second point of ridiculousness here is the ludicrous idea that Lawler would have kids in New York. Somewhere in there Coraluzzo ends up referencing the whole Global belt deal too. Either way, I was not impressed with Coraluzzo at all.
  14. I liked how they built to the first belly-to-belly suplex so well and it made it such a huge deal. And they went back to the belly-to-belly throughout as a highspot, which was great. Both teams best match that I have seen ever.
  15. I was wondering whether somebody booking this tournament had any idea bout Watts' new rules. Was it a mystery to the staff that these guys liked to fly?? Anyway, spotfest as already mentioned with Wellington twice sandbagging Liger noticeably. Fun parts but not much to speak of as a whole.
  16. This was a great promo from Sting. More and more I am seeing that he could have been "The Man" for WCW the way Hogan was for WWF if he had been booked better.
  17. I liked the match as a fun TV match. I would agree with garretta that the WCW booking in the past months has been atrocious outside of some good DA stuff. The finish was a little off for me and takes away from the match quite a bit. I thought Fonzie had a pretty good view of it for sure.
  18. Loved seeing Lance Russell. My favorite ever announcer. I thought this was really well done and got the idea across that the tournament was a big deal.
  19. Rude hasn't been to sleep since 1972. For sleeping purposes. Great stuff.
  20. I guess this could be a fun way to meet other fans of WCW. Not sure meeting your favorite wrestler and then getting to see them hanging around for a while on the cruise would be helpful for staying a fan though.
  21. Was not a big fan of the content. I love both of these guys and how they presented it. Just can't get behind either idea, the ref is supposed to count the count and enforce the rules. Ole will take attention away from the wrestlers. And the mat thing seems like it is more likely to get wrestlers hurt than any other outcome.
  22. I think a part of the problem is that they don't have strong enough babyfaces to contend with the likes of Orndorff, DWB & The Bodies. Who on the roster is going to conceivably come out and make a dent in any of those guys?
  23. That line about Bobby Fulton being impotent was sure something. As is the toupee.
  24. He is Dutch Mantel and we are not. What a line! I thought this was good, but was Dutch ignoring Barry's record in Global?
