  1. That dastardly Paul Roma! Great angle there. Bret took a few for the team and Davey capitalized on the opportunity. I wonder if there will be dissension after that. Atlas and the Rockers are a good pairing. Janetty and Michaels make up for what Atlas can't bring to the table and the other way around. Great way to end Prime Time, hyping up all the big main event feuds.
  2. I go Jetlag last week and have seen nothing yet. I can pair up with Microstatics. No worries on watching a few matches if need be.
  3. Shorter format again, with a highlight and some big stuff in there. Original Airdate June 20th, 1986 The show opens with the announcement that Carlitos Colon has been cleared to wrestle and his training has begun for the big rematch with Abdullah the Butcher. Los Super Medicos beat Mr. X & Y with an assisted senton (Medico 1, slamming 2 on top of Mr. Y). Ricky Santana came out with a Jos LeDuc in a lumberjack outfit. Jacques Rougeau had recommended this man, Santana said, if any kind of trouble with big men came up. Since Owen Hart was going to rely on Chicky Starr to supply muscle, Santana went to Canada to find his muscle. LeDuc said he was impressed with Tamba's agility, but wondered if it would be enough to beat a bigger, stronger, more experienced wrestler. And if Chicky Starr would have the guts to sign the match. Santana went to the ring with LeDuc backing him up at ringside. Ricky Santana beat Armandito Salgado with a flying crossbody and no sign of Owen Hart or Abdullah Tamba was seen. (Sports Shop) The Sports Shop intro plays and we cut to Victor the Bodyguard and Abdullah Tamba on the Sports Shop set. A voice-over by Hugo Savinovich plays. Hugo: Welcome, ladies and gentlemen to the most watched wrestling program in Puerto Rico!! This is Chicky's Sports Shop and I'm pleased to announce your host, the most charismatic, best dressed man in Puerto Rico today, Chicky Starr!! Chicky walks in wearing his custom suit and his WWC Caribbean Tag Team Title over his shoulder. He picks up a microphone and sits down. Chicky: Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the most watched program in Puerto Rico, Chicky Starr's Sports Shop. I know my fans are waiting for me to give them news about a certain match being signed, but this week my guest is a man I respect very much. A man who taught me a lot, Dutch Mantell. Dutch walks out in a button-up shirt and cowboy hat. Chicky Starr offers his hand and Dutch hesitates, but shakes. Dutch sits and picks up a microphone. Chicky (English): Dirty Dutch Mantell! It's an honor to have you in my Sports Shop. Dutch: Can't say I understand. You know damn well what Bobby Jaggers done to me and you were buddies with him last week. Chicky: Bobby and I are friends. I know the two of you are fighting and you've got your reasons. I respect that. I don't need to be involved. Dutch: My recollection is you wanted him to join yer...what'd you call it...corporation? Chicky: The Starr Corporation, yes. And I would gladly have both of you, but that's not going to happen. Dutch: Damn right it ain't. Chicky: I just want you to know that I will not come after you, nor will I send anyone to hurt you. Dutch: And I want you to know that if we end up on opposite sides of the ring, you get no special treatment because of it. Chicky: I wouldn't expect any. Now that we have established that I in no way want a fight with you, I want to go back a few years. I had just broken away from Invader 1 and was very unsure of myself. You were around and you took me under your wing. Dutch: I don't know that it went that far. But you were a young kid and showing you the ropes as much as I could seemed like the right thing to do. Chicky: And you never kept me away from anyone just so you could steal all the glory. Dutch: You were too big for yer britches, I'll give you that. I'm not convinced you ain't still a little too big for yer britches. But a man's got to learn that on his own. Ain't my job to hold yer hand. Chicky: I always liked that about you. You were honest even when it might come across as mean. Another thing I always liked, you do what it takes to win. Dutch: That's the name of the game. End of the day it don't matter how you get there. Chicky: Exactly! Something the Invader 1s and Carlitos Colons of the world won't tell you no matter how much they are willing to live by it! It's one of the reasons I've always respected you. Dutch: Y'know, I've been watchin' how you handle yourself since I came back. You have learned a lot for sure. But I can't help but think you didn't learn the most important lesson of all. Chicky: Which is? Dutch: You paid the Rock'n'Roll RPMs for something them other boys did. You still got that debt out there. A man pays his debts, Chicky Starr. Bobby Jaggers come out here and tells me he had somethin' to do with breakin' my arm. So I'm gonna take it out of his hide before I do anything else. And if that yellow coward Austin Idol shows his face I'll be makin' damn sure he pays too. And just so you know, those buddies of yours, los Mercenarios, they get theirs too. I ain't comin after you 'cause yer associated with 'em. Always remember that. A man pays his debts. And you got some unpaid debts that you don't know much about yet, but one day you'll figure it out. G'day. Dutch gets up and walks off after tipping his hat to Chicky. Chicky looks thoughtful and gets a dark look on his face. Chicky: Oh, I mean to repay my debts. With interest. Well fans, you're welcome for another great edition of Chicky's Sports Shop! It was a real treat for me to catch up with one of my first real mentors. Next week I'll be talking about the most recent challenge I received and my guest will be none other than Abdullah Tamba. I want to address the news that Carlitos Colon has been cleared to wrestle and the rematch with Abdullah the Butcher is official. I am in no way responsible for whatever might happen to Carlitos Colon in this match. He goes in knowing that Abdullah the Butcher intends to maim him in whatever way possible and take Carlitos Colon out of wrestling. That's all for the Sports Shop this week, please don't be too disappointed by the rest of the show. (End Sports Shop) The Caribbean Express beat los Assassins with a Perez suplex/Castillo crossbody off the top combo. Barrabas was at the desk talking about how Boyd and the Crusher were firing on all cylinders and the Batten Twins couldn't hope to beat a team that good. Rickin questioned whether or not Barrabas might be underestimating the Battens. Barrabas then proceeded to tell Rickin how much he hated the disrespectful tone he was spoken to in interviews before storming off. Abdullah Tamba destroyed Tejano 1 before winning by countout after a tope in just over 2 minutes. Owen Hart and Bobby Jaggers stopped by the desk to talk about how Dutch Mantell was a crybaby and Ricky Santana was a coward who needed to hide behind a 280 pound lumberjack. Both went on to describe themselves as "the toughest man ever to wrestle in Puerto Rico" (Jaggers) and "the best technical wrestler in Puerto Rico today" (Owen). Hart, Jaggers and TNT with El Profe were on one side of the main event with Ricky Santana, Gama Singh and Dutch Mantell on the other. Profe handed Owen something early on and he went after Dutch with it, which led to Santana hitting the ring and a 6-man brawl breaking out. Referee Victor Quinonez was close to calling the match when TNT and Gama Singh ended up back in the ring. The brawl continued on in the ring with all six men tagging in and out. Owen and Santana ended up in the ring and traded a few nearfalls on roll-ups. Santana, who had slammed Owen on the outside to great reaction earlier, hit a dropkick and was setting up a fisherman's suplex. Owen got an inside cradle with a generous handful of tights for the 3 count. Owen, Jaggers and TNT all left ringside without any further fighting. Jaggers held up Owen's arm in victory in the aisle as Santana fumed in the ring, Dutch trying to calm him down.
  4. Keith going over in Alberta is a great choice. Andre has been a good addition to your TV of late. Brian Adias and Sunny War Cloud have a nice undercard feud going. Mid-Atlantic showcase would have been a fun babyface match. MS-1 is on a roll of late. Let's hope Satanico doesn't catch up with him. Big main that would have had the Saddledome rocking.
  5. I disagree about Lawler. Some of his outfits are absolutely horrendous. And some of those sweaters he wore in the studio...
  6. I liked the build-up show a lot. Benoit has a big head of steam going into his last match. I will second SST vs. the Fabs being an awesome match. Why do I think MS-1 has something lined up for Kernodle? Kokina comes off big on this TV. Martel taking on Abby is crazy. Good build for Goto and Saito so far. Loving Creatchman and those dastardly Nightmares. Borne vs. Brunzell is a real great match on paper.
  7. Great card and I liked the style you did it in. It reads exactly like an old school card hype segment.
  8. Baby Doll vs. Gilbert is an interesting matchup possibility. HTM is really pushing his luck. Oooh, LLT tag match! I could see either team going somewhere else. Haku and Superstar may not be the foregone conclusion we all think it is. Good way to build the Hollywood Blondes before their title match. JYD as the mystery partner is a great, great choice.
  9. OMG has been such a great addition to your roster. Satanico against Danny Davis is probably workrate match of the night. Martel definitely needs some time off, but I doubt he'll take it. Kernodle has hishands full of late with both Kirchner and Jacques. Main would have been a fun match even if Borne and Lawler's styles couldn't be more opposite.
  10. Sorry guys, didn't get this done the weekend before and last weekend filled up fast. Original Airdate: June 13th, 1986 TNT beat Armandito Salgado with the cobra dinamita (cobra clutch). Los Super Medicos came out to the desk and talked about taking the Caribbean Tag Titles away from the Starrs for the fans. Jonathan Boyd and the Crusher beat los Tejanos when Boyd hit his three point clothesline whle the Crusher held Tejano 1. Bobby Jaggers stopped by the Sports Shop and had a lighthearted conversation with Chicky Starr about helping injure Dutch Mantell, the way money can change things for the better and the possibility of joining the Starr Corporation. Chicky Starr also dismissed the chances of los Super Medicos beating him and his cousin Ronnie. Gama Singh beat Mr. X with a camel clutch while El Profe and TNT watched from the entrance. No post-match activities. Hercules Ayala came to the desk and talked about respecting Bam Bam Bigelow's actions towards Barrabas. Ayala also talked about the challenges of facing Bam Bam Bigelow when Bigelow didn't have a manager he was disagreeing with distracting him. Ayala beat El Vikingo with the figure four. Dutch Mantell came to the desk and talked about Bobby Jaggers being a coward. Dutch talked about Jaggers trying to use Owen Hart to attack him with a foreign object in a match. He knew Jaggers had something planned for July 5th but vowed to be ready for it. In the main, Owen Hart and los Mercenarios took on Ricky Santana and the Caribbean Express. Santana, Castillo and Perez were hot right away, but Owen went to the eyes and tossed Santana to the floor where los Mercenarios were in their element. Santana eventually got the tag to Castillo, who also got roughed up. Perez got the same after some heel shenanigans, but Santana took the big hot tag and cleared the ring. Santana had Mercenario 2 down with the flying crossbody when Owen and Merc 1 hit the ring and a 6-man brawl started. Abdullah Tamba came to the ring and attacked Santana, leading to a DQ. Santana was clearly the target of the attack, but Invaders 1, 2 and 3 as well as Hercules Ayala were out to make the save.
  11. I recommend The Carnies vs. Hysteria from last years Dynamite Cup. I thought this started out good. The Carnies are clearly the heels and give a decent enough shine. The dorky looking guy from Hysteria was the right choice as the FIP. I didn't care for the hot tag as having to take time cutting down the big man takes a lot away from any energy it might have brought. Said big man's bumping needs some work too. He doesn't fall over and doesn't fall over, but when he does it's this ridiculous Curt Hennig style bump. Once we get past that we get to all of the cutesy stuff that I can't stand in modern wrestling. And not two guys exchanging strikes, but four and on their knees, YAY! I hope the sarcasm comes across. Poor execution throughout and a waste of a good enough Southern tag start make this one a dud for me.

We lost a legend and easily one of the top 3 400+ pound workers ever. RIP Vader.
  13. That TV was great. Loved Hayes and DiBiase 's exchange. Giving Garvin and Embry their belts back is great, but that next title match... Loved the cliffhanger at the end. Is it REALLY Dusty?? We may never know. 1st round of the tourney seemed like the right guys won. Houston and Price was the only one in question. Garvin had a rough night and it looks like Traylor has not found his morals yet. Funk's win in round 2 was perfect. A guy on a horse would distract me at a wrestling show too, so I can't blame Gordy. I wonder who that might have been. Much like with the Real American Machine in Japan, we may never know. People have to watch that damn piledriver on the floor with Terry. Funk is such a better choice as champ. Kevin never once did anything for me as a wrestler. Great, great job of switching gears and immediately having hot feuds. Really impressive work.
  14. I liked that Greenville got a heel heavy show to begin with, then Snuka gets one over on Kernodle with an assist from Kirchner. DiBiase and Backlund would have torn the house down. Rip Oliver is proving to be a lot of trouble for Paul Jones. Fernandez and Rude with a good showing. Graham came this close, but just didn't have enough left to put Bundy away. Barn burner of a 6-man tag should have had the crowd ready for the main. Crazy end to the Norfolk show, Singh vs. Orndorff feud in the future?? Count me in!!
  15. I love how your shows stay so close to what the UWF was. Great hype for all of the big matches. Ole and Magnum sign a double chain match against the Russians on the same show that Bullet Bob admits teaming with Fuller was a mistake. Hmm. Honky trying to chase down Lawler can only make the eventual payoff better. Bullet Bob coming back for the win at the end is a great way to end the show and set up a Ron Wright/Fuller hissy fit next week.
  16. Cactus and Sabu are putting together a Hell of a feud. Zenk gets a big win and Adams gets one with meaning. Great match for Death Sentence to be in for their style. Pillman and Burke continue to be very entertaining. Slaughter knocking DeBeers out of the ring would have been satisfying for the fans. Zbysko and Kabuki would be a sneaky good match. White is becoming an absolute beast. Tanaka and Finlay would have been a fun match.
  17. Billy Graham should lend a lot of legitimacy to the 10,000 dollar challenge. Tiger Jeet Singh continues his madness and we can only hope Inoki and St. Clair are up for the match. Orndorff is looking ready for his rematch with Race and I think you need a no-DQ for where the feud is now. Davey Baby and Riddle had a great exchange, better than normal even. Hot 6-man to build heat for both feuds. DiBiase is putting the heat on Duggan big time. I can't wait to see Duggan's response.
  18. BIG 8 man tag next week that looks really entertaining. I like continuing the feud with Michaels and Herc even if Roma is injured. Jesse offering to take Tully's place if he wins is a nice touch. Hennig pulling out the win despite the worked-over knee is such a great bit of babyface booking.
  19. If I don't have one given to me by tomorrow I'll jump on one of the other matches given out.
  20. St. Clair proves his skill by lasting 15 with OMG. Wayne over Lane = Nightmares/Fabs feuding? If so, Hell yes! Big win for Benoit to send him to Japan. Jacques with a solid win over Mark. Paul E. finally gets a portion of the just desserts he has coming.
  21. AWA is such a strong territory on every level. You freaking opened with Adams vs. a Guerrero! Burke/Pillman has been a blast to see play out. Then you go and top that match with the Can Am tag match. I seriously need to see Kabuki in some kind of team to take on the 6-man champs now. Scorpio could probably drag something good out of Zenk. On a card full of dream matches, Ronnie Garvin vs. Buzz Sawyer...great work there! World tag title match would have been really good, but the rest of this card overshadows it for me. Crazy great main with the unexpected team of Steamer, Sarge and White! Speaking of teams that could challenge for the 6-man titles....
  22. Six man tag with the Neighborhood was a good way to warm the fans up after the opener. White going nuts definitely has some implications for Rose and Somers that they should be scared of. I wonder how long Nord lasts as a Snake ally. Great, GREAT tag match, but I was more interested in the Adams story. Which is saying something. Spivey continues to shine despite the injury. I wonder who takes advantage eventually. Seriously? That 6-man title is your second match?? Your roster is too stacked my friend. Sabu and Cactus is a perfect change of pace follow-up match for that. Patera and Blackwell with a really big tag win. Jake is back with a vengeance and I'm not sure I would want to be in his way. British Steel continues to roll and I love seeing them get that exposure this early. Two excellent title matches with complete opposite endings, very nice. Bigelow showing up in the main was awesome. I love how you are using him.
  23. OMG resorting to trickery shows a lot of respect for Jacques. Borne is a really fascinating character and I am looking forward to where you go with him. Brian Adias had some terrible luck on that date. I'm thinking he is the heel here. Great main with Paul E. crashing the post-match.
  24. Embry's look is super sleazy now and I love it. I did like Embry's insinuation that Tanaka is not truly against foreign objects being brought into a match. Heels should have some truth to what they say and there is enough there, just twisted around to Embry's way of thinking, that it makes a good basis for the promo. I did think the golf club was going a little far, but up until that point I was with Embry on the foreign objects. Really good promo that stops just short of great.
  25. Great brawling after the Kamala interference. As a wrestling fan I am not overly fond of bullshit finishes, but Memphis does them better than just about anyplace. I have hopes that Kamala becomes a part of this feud, but I'm not sure they have any basis in reality.
