  1. Sid's reading of the letter was enough. It was really good and got the point across. Whippleman was completely unnecessary. The post-match attack seemed designed to make Sid look like a dick, which might be due to his former popularity. Regardless, it really doesn't tie into his purpose (getting back at Hogan for the very real favoritism he received) despite the attempt.
  2. I was wondering how this hadn't come out far, far earlier given Hogan's famous line. As it is, yeah, too late and this had to have been a huge bomb with any parents who were paying attention.
  3. I thought Perfect stayed out of the way really well here. He did enough to make you remember he was there, but not so much that he took away from Flair. Okerlund did a great job as the upstanding citizen interviewer. Flair really knocked it out of the park. He kept from going over the top but still had this sense of joy to him. He really looked like a guy who was enjoying rubbing this in Savage's face.
  4. I wonder if Dusty will make it to the Bash or retire...
  5. I'm guessing countout on the Dr. D win. Morgan and Lane for 26 minutes sounds like a crazy fun match. Honestly I'm not sure I want to see a Roadies match longer than 30 minutes. Or Gang for that matter. Probably not Kernodle either.
  6. I like this response. It's the most constructive way to handle the situation and yes, it certainly does challenge you to scrap half of your feuds. Also, very much a reality-based decision if dirt sheets had been a factor at the time.
  7. I liked the hot start, but Hansen feeding Misawa a rest front facelock seems really out of place. Hansen stiffed Misawa around the right ear pretty early on and it got sold for a while. Hansen showing Misawa enough respect to work over the neck was a nice touch. I loved Hansen's setup for the first lariat. He basically gave Misawa a very common situation he knew the Misawa counter for and anticipated it. Very much a veteran kind of move and I love seeing it in this kind of match. It puts over why Hansen still has Misawa's number at the same time it shows a lot of respect to Misawa. If Misawa was a lesser opponent, Hansen wouldn't have to do that. He'd just kill him with the lariat. Misawa's toughness down the stretch was great. The double pin off the facelock was too much. It's Hansen, once he kicks out of that first try you spent that nickel. Still a lot in the arsenal to attempt before getting desperate to put Hansen away with the facelock no matter how hot the move is. I did like how this match put MIsawa over and my memory of later matches tells me they built off of a lot of the themes here. I still agree with jdw that at least one match of 15 minutes with no attempt to break the other guy down besides beating the fuck out of him up until the finishing stretch would have blown everything else these two did in singles matches out of the water.
  8. I disliked the New 52 run of Justice League and tolerated all of the nonsense in the Flash series because I like the character of Barry Allen a lot. The Rebirth Flash is better for the story, but I am lukewarm at best to it. It took me a while to warm up to 1990s Justice League, but it is miles better than the New 52. The 2 Brad Meltzer Justice League novels and Identity Crisis rank among my favorite comics. I loved the entire Geoff Johns run of Green Lantern. Such great storytelling throughout that the artist of the next iteration immediately took a shit on. The follow-ups to that have been okay to good, but I can't get into them as much. I will say that I enjoyed the Sinestro and Atrocitus/Red Lanterns spinoff far more than the Green Lantern stuff that came out later in the New 52 and wish that more of that kind of thing were popular. I've read one volume of the Green Lantern/Green Arrow Hard Traveling Heroes graphic novels and look forward to the second a lot. Some of the dialogue is very dated, so get ready for Native Americans calling white people paleface, but overall it is an incredible look at how Dennis O'Neill viewed American society at the time. I've started in on the X-O Man'O'War books by Robert Venditti and the original Hellblazer (Vertigo) series. Both show a ton of promise. My favorite comic has to be Kingdom Come. Identity Crisis, All Star Superman and the Killing Joke have to be up there too. Justice is really, really good as a kind of precursor to Kingdom Come.
  9. Buy the shirt! Wait, there isn't a shirt yet...
  10. Pillman and Burke are having a very nice feud. Can Ams and Bullies is a very good feud if you give it a few years! Guerreros coming up aces in Ann Arbor. I bet Chavo and Scorpio put on a Hell of a show. Dundee and Douglas are becoming a well-oiled machine as a unit. Steel vs. Black Irish! Spivey continues his great run.
  11. Patera getting a pin on Spivey is huge. Herders vs. Death Sentence is a good feud for the young guys. Tanaka and Steamer continue to impress. British Steel finally get a title win over their rivals! Please say the feud continues. White goes over big two nights in a row. Three Guerreros beat two of Jake's Snakepit. I wonder if this leads to anything. DeBeers hurting his arm is going to have an effect on that feud. Larry Z & Saito continue their run of good tag matches. Piper and Steamboat hooking it up in San Francisco is a big, big match.
  12. Robinson walking out on Sammartino is not a good sign for Greatness. Oliver and Jones are having their issues, or they want somebody to think they are. I keep thinking that "one more" ends up being Bundy's eventual downfall. I would add Hot Property to Mark Youngblood as really well-used young talents that seem to be going places. Crazy 6-man with Kernodle showing his devious side for the finish. Main would have had the house rocking and I can't help but agree on Prichard. He's been a consistent highlight since the Horsemen left.
  13. Dana White took a massive verbal shit all over Mike Jackson after the last fight. Something about not trying to end the fight at all and never being in the UFC again.
  14. Ladd making Garvin and Embry instant babyfaces despite their false claims is great. Nasties and Southern Boys (or any team from the south that like to brawl, bonus if they are from Texas) is such a great feud in Texas. Why do I want to think Rhodes isn't done yet? Poor 'Birds, the NWA might take all of their hard-earned money! Kerry over Kamala but not the right way. Looking forward to the Kerry vs. Nikita match for the Bash tour! I like Kamala's new partner. The Revolution is really making it's presence felt quickly. Kerry as National Champ should play very well in Texas.
  15. Loved the St. Clair/Singh stuff going on in Greensboro. Very heel heavy on the winning side for the first two thirds of the show. Idol going over despite the injury is the right call. Haku makes sure to leave an impression despite a DCO. Main would have torn the house down.
  16. Loved the AWA show, LeDuc and Garvin would have been an incredible brawl. Martel and Zenk in the main was a nice booking choice. Borne as a half Killer Bee was fun. Tommy Lane going the distance against Kokina is something big!
  17. DiBiase's promo was perfect. Love seeing los Infernales succeed in the NWA. Kernodle putting over his allies is a nice bit of heel camraderie. Fuller really busted Idol up and I can see a feud coming out of that. So you replaced Brody with Haku...what a GREAT substitution! Now my match of the night even over Ted vs. Duggan. Great debut for Rude and Fernandez. I wonder if they are biting off more than they can chew. I loved having Duggan come out to answer right before the end of the show. It puts over the importance of that match even while other stuff is going on. As far as the main, what a way to come into a territory! Rich is an instant hit and has a ready-made hot feud. All around great booking on thisone.
  18. As a Kabuki fan I love what you are doing with him. White seems unfocused, something must be on his mind. Sullivan is transforming into devil worshipper Sullivan and that can only be a good thing. Taylor and Garvin beating each other up sounds like a lot of fun. Regal getting a singles win is definitely a big deal. You had to know that Blackwell would get involved if he was at ringside.
  19. Nice return for Atlas. Studd is a really good opponent for him. Perfect vs. Tully is a Hell of a matchup that we never got on a big stage.I'll agree on the tag scene, very good work there. Loved the Horsemen promos. Flair's was a great way to wrap things up and put the focus on Hogan.
  20. Flair vs. Wahoo around the horn is a great matchup. I was wondering exactly _how_ that turnbuckle pad came off myself. Ganter and OMG trying to kill one another is a nice way to keep both over. I only know 3 matches from the Shea card, but my ticket was bought as soon as I saw them.
  21. I loved Ivan complaining about the "cheating Americans". Such a great heel promo. Brad bit off more than he could chew, but he gave as good as he got. Saving Armstrong (Bob that is) until the very end was a great choice.
  22. Inoki as the mystery partner is a great choice for sure. Steamboat vs. Blackwell added to the card as well! The Bash is shaping up to be a HUGE event.
  23. Sounds like a great idea to me! I'm on board 100% and if you need anything just ask.
  24. That is one Hell of an 8-man tag. Satanico going 14 against Kokina and winning a battle royal in one night is quite a feat. I'm guessing a DQ win for Fatu. Ramblers put on a good showing against the Roadies lasting almost 17 minutes. I am a Borne fan myself and like seeing him getting the push he always deserved.
  25. Cornette and Watts could have 10 minute interviews with each other weekly and i wouldn't complain. Missy biting off more than she could chew is a great way to set up that match. I wonder if we get some good old fashioned heel male on babyface woman violence to ratchet up the heat. Honky randomly attacking people with the guitar is a great way to build him up. Tatum as a Hollywood Blonde is such a great choice. Adorable Adrian as the partner for Street is going to be hard to top.
