World Class Championship Wrestling: April 1986
Garvin and Embry start the TV off right. Good setup for a big night of action in Fort Worth and a main event that saw the Roadies get their real win. With Bubba making his point. Iceman as TV champ and a heel should be great. DWBs have their hands in everything right now. Studd and Lawler is reaching a conclusion that makes me think Studd may not be as much of a bad guy as we think.

Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling April 86
Great post-Clash TV. Oliver and Rheingans both get over as heels and Jones gets a new tag team t the expense of the Duo. Everybody seems ready for the Cup as well. I liked the babyface revenge theme in Greenville. Not sure Kirchner will like it though. Finishing off with DiBiase going over strong is the right choice. Rheingans using the Backlund heel gimmick on Backlund is pretty rich. Duggan vs Singh is incredible and I can hope that's a feud.

AWA results for March 1986
I'm way behind on this, but the way you use your roster and mix in the young guys with the veterans is always great to see. I will echo the love for the team of Martel and Furnas. There is a lot for Martel to teach Furnas because they are pretty similar. Pillman having success always warms my heart. I like seeing Sullivan finally get the Varsity club (mostly) his way. Piper vs. Dundee would be a match I always wanted to see. Vader under the tutelage of Sarge is definitely a great pairing too.

I'm behind on this, but I thought the TV was really good at building to everything. Wright's crew getting the Roadies, Nightmares and RnRs and of course Magnum picking Ole as his partner. I wonder what that finish means for Ole and Magnum. I like the direction I think this Nation angle is going. Rich beating Gilbert to continue the war is a good use of a non-clean finish that the heel had coming. I'm sure JR would have loved the NWA tag title match. The triple threat was right out of the MXE playbook. Loved the finish for Slater/Windham.

WWF on Tour April 1986
My recollection is Tito was a very early Flair opponent in MSG in late 1991. I thought he fit the Flair formula match really well. Sherri and Woman would easily make my top 3 valets so I'm thinking the Horsemen got the right women on their side. Brainbusters and Rockers is definitely a match worth seeing. Bulldogs & Demo should be a hot feud too. Wahoo as Tito's backup definitely works.

Big Time Wrestling (San Francisco) May 86
I like the idea of international stars flocking back to San Fran to take part in the revival. Puts it over as something big right off the bat.

Adonis challenging for the LHW title is great. Main would have been a wild brawl. Jacques and Owen have a nice rivalry going.

I am liking the heel turn of Iceman and the rise of Steve Doll. Bossman as Embry and Garvin's bodyguard (let's be honest here) is a great use of Traylor. The Funks as Super Ds angle should be awesome going forward.

Satanico standing by while Creatchman and Paul E.'s goons beat up Martel is good. Good save by the Roadies on that. Floyd & Paul feuding should be fun. Roadies going over in the main is good booking.

Missing Link getting frustrated is good. Hall is a really good developmental champ in 86.

Always ready. You look like you are well-versed in WCW, so I won't go there. Any weak spots you need to address?

1983 Project General Chatter Thread
I run Wednesdays and a Saturday (rarely a Sunday) every 2 or 3 months. I don't really post house shows so I tend to act like they don't exist when loaning out wrestlers. I can spare you Bobby Jaggers and Dutch Mantell (two name guys that should be over just about everywhere) on non-Wednesdays and not on July 5th. The Rock 'n' Roll RPMs, Jonathan Boyd and Rip Morgan are also available on those days. Anyone on the roster really, but I went with guys who would be more of a fit for the area you'd be running. Boyd & Morgan I am not sure how long I have plans for. Jaggers and Mantell ould probably never be full members of any roster but PR as long as I am around . They were PR regulars. I have Steve Strong, who I truly have no room for right now and Brad and Bart Batten who fit that same bill. Strong is kind of like a Jim Powers with slightly more attitude. The Battens I would want to do a trade with the RPMs for down the road as they had a good run in PR. Thing is they only ran one babyface foreginer team. It went from Mark & Jay Youngblood to the RPMs to the Battens if I remember the order of it right. So I'll have the RPMs finish out their run and then swap them for the Battens if you want them. I'd honestly say the RPMs are an upgrade as babyfaces. If you work the dates out with rainmakerr you can bring in Bigelow and the Sheepherders as featured acts too.

Japan Wrestling Association April 1986
All of the young gaijin get a chance to look good. I loved the Yamada/Owen match with a heel Owen. Liger was always better paying back a dickish heel than in any other mode. The 10 man elimination tag was indeed great and lived up to the hype. Facekickers getting the win is great because Kawada/Fuchi is one of those teams I wish we had gotten about a thousand more matches from IRL.

Cooley and Johnson with a big win. I'm looking forward to Rheingans/Backlund too. Will it make Rheingans at the expense of Backlund or rejuvenate his career? Harley and Orndorff did not disappoint. Martel and Taylor cap off a great show with a show of respect after a great match. American Made is coming apart at the seams. St. Clair with a big win over Robinson but I think Robinson will have more to say about it. Rip Oliver coming to Paul Jones' aid is certainly a surprise for Valiant. Loved the main event and it's great to see Ted in a feud with Duggan right off the bat.

Reviewing Low Ki vs. Hotstuff Hernandez from IWA Midsouth 2004: I liked the opening with Ki establishing his strengths (quickness and the kicks) and then Hernandez catching him and going to his strength (power). It sets a really good tone that they carry through the match. I've read that Ki isn't big on selling, but he seems to keep the damage done to his back in mind most of the time as the match progresses. Good comeback by Low Ki but I thought the Kobashi chops were a little much. They get a little cute with the athletic spot exchange, but it stays within the confines of the story they are telling. Finish is a little odd to me. Was Ki really finishing with that running front dropkick at the time? Not my cup of tea, but they told a good story and stuck to it pretty well. It's a match I'd cal fun and watch again. RicheyEdwards I'll give you a match that you should enjoy. Akira Maeda vs. Tatsumi Fujinami from 1986 NJPW. If you have seen it I can certainly find another. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x4u0xnm

I liked the Freebirds/Devastation match a lot. Midnights and RnRs!! Armstrong will not be happy with Fuller. I would agree Reed needs some backup. Baby Doll Is playing with fire. Magnum saving Martel from the cheap victory by the Russians would have sent the fans home happy.

Savage's interview was a real highlight for me. Really well done. Bad News and Sika making headlines is a good way to get some midcard talent over. The Harts should have a good run as tag champs regardless of opponent.

NWA Lutte Internationale/International Wrestling April 1986
Leduc is looking really tough. Owen is up to his tricks even in Lutte. Sammartino getting the title shot should be entertaining. Oh my, the Killer Bees. Brunzell makes his return to Lutte.

Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling April 86
I hope American Made can keep things together if they don't win that match. Race vs. Orndorff and Taylor vs. Martel should both be great matches. Johnson and Cooley have their hands full with the Stud Stable. St. Clair and Robinson has been a great feud and I expect it to stay that way. Snuka and Mulligan will settle their differences but I don't think it will be in Philly. Speaking of Philly, they get my favorite match of the bunch, Hansen vs. Duggan.

Midnights/RnRs for the titles?!? Count me in!! I am a sucker for anything those two teams do. Everything else was great, especially the Magnum/Martel/Koloffs staredown. Just that tag match is my number three pairing of all time.
