  1. I respect the attempt, even if I'm not a fan of the "meta booking" aspect of it. If the late 90s proved anything it's that competition breeds new ideas, good and bad. Vince could use some competition at some point, seems to bring out the best in him.
  2. Muta was fine here, but it seemed like Invader was carrying most of the match to me. Muta didn't bring a lot that was really going to stand out from the rest of Invader's opponents, which is why I think this comes up short despite being good.
  3. I loved how the crowd was reacting to the RnRs even in Puerto Rico. That's just awesome.
  4. Dutch's comeback with the whip was all kinds of fun. Chicky Starr outside the ring egging Abby on after the DQ was almost as great as Abby continuing to choke Dutch out. It's crazy how much wrestlers can consistently get out of matches this short in Puerto Rico.
  5. Dory actually did a nice bump later on in the match that reminded me of shit Terry did. Good start with a highly disappointing finish.
  6. Imagine that. A match based around Invader's selling and blood loss is really good. Muta feels the need to top Invader's blade job, which also works in the match's favor.
  7. Skinner is an interesting choice for Keirns. I'm waiting to figure out if I like it or not.
  8. Ref bump did look pretty gnarly. One thing to add. The fans we see post-match had these little metal batons to hit the railing with and make noise. If I'm a heel and I know this, fuck going anywhere near the railing.
  9. Medico was great here, Ayala seems like a guy who is over enough that he can get away with being fairly bland on offense. Especially as a heel. I will say his Arn Anderson elbow to the back of the head to counter a backdrop was pretty good though. Those Medico punch flurries are all kinds of insanely awesome and HOW has somebody not ripped that off? The crowd was nuclear for this, anytime Medico makes a comeback it is such a huge deal. The other takeaway I have from this match is that Chicky Starr has an awesome purple sport coat and he doesn't want to sully it by becoming physically involved. And who would?
  10. That bump by Kroffat was THE highlight of this. Good whipping and general brawling, choking, etc. going on with the straps. Six minutes of big dudes beating each other up works for me.
  11. So what we are saying is that daddy issues can cause the next generation to go through daddy issues? Shocking.
  12. I'll echo the thoughts on Muta. The guy just has a completely different way of doing just about everything and it works. I also liked the comparison of junior heavyweight body types. Muta is average height and skinny but built. Invader 3 is only a junior heavyweight due to being short. If he was 2 or 3 inches taller he'd be heavyweight for sure. Agile as Hell for what he looks like though.
  13. Too cluttered, like late stage Rumbles. Except with weapons. Different, but not that much better.
  14. Jaggers is great here as the stooging/stalling heel early on then turns into a complete badass when it's time for the heat. Santana delivers when he has to, but Jaggers really makes this with the way he handles working from underneath and on top. Second straight match Jaggers has hung Santana.
  15. TNT using superkicks while Funk was hung up in the ropes was pretty great. The scaffold climbing after the match by Terry was fun, as was TNT's dogged pursuit and kicking him off of the other side.
  16. Hell of a bold project here. The Inoki mixed styles matches should be different than anything else in the project. Hell of a juniors division. Tenryu, Fujinami, Choshu and Flair all in the mix for main events should be all kinds of fun. Oh and Volk Freaking Han!! Love that guy.
  17. Loved these 2 beating the shit out of each other. Jaggers really shines in matches like these. The cowbell was used in all kinds of hurty ways and both guys bleed buckets. What more can you ask for?
  18. Pretty nothing match after the shine, I'd have to agree. Commentary didn't help.
  19. You do understand Victator that really what kids want is to feel like their parents love them and want to spend time with them. The food and clothes mean nothing to them. Toys are great, but without parents who give loving attention the kids are going to be miserable. I can tell you this because I see it happening within my own family and we all do our best to make up for what the kid isn't getting from her mom.
  20. Yeah the fire was incredible. That had to be a seriously hot environment to work in. Loved Colon getting his hair singed by the fire. Crazy bastard. The figure 4 by Colon after the bell was great, as was the crowd still throwing garbage at Ayala after he had been beaten. Ayala crawling over to try and get his hands on Colon one last time was pretty great too.
  21. I liked this, but I felt like it needed more FIP time from Perez. The offense that Kroffat and Jaggers got was good, but there needed to be more, put some hope spots and cutoffs in there too. Perez's powerslam was really good as well.
  22. Not much besides a brawl. It's not bad in any way, but it doesn't really stand out either.
  23. Yeah that pre-match footage was all kinds of gruesome in a way only Puerto Rico can deliver. Chicky is attacked with a wooden axe handle and bleeding at the opening bell, which is a perfect way to start this. Both Invader 3 and Chicky play their roles perfectly. Chicky is so great at putting over how much a babyface is destroying him. I also love how his comebacks pretty much come off of dirty tactics right up until the last one. The camera work of Invader 3 punching Chicky on the outside is all kinds of awesome. You can see the blood smeared all over Invader 3's fist! I dug the finish, I really love how some of these finishes don't involve a finisher but make perfect sense. Invader definitely took a good shot to the back of his head and Chicky, with his one non-cheating comeback, takes advantage to get the pin and escape the wrath of Invader 3. When you think about it, Invader 3 losing due to hitting the back of his head really hard is an incredible finish in the meta for this match given the pre-match footage as well. Amazing stuff and I really love Chicky Starr. Invader 3 too, but Chicky makes this.
  24. I love the idea of the characters being main event draws. Imagine the western perception of that as it happened.
  25. The comedy match with the women taking turns beating up on the one man on the opposite team is a funny idea. Then if you look at some of the darker reasons for watching joshi it gets a little more twisted.... Anyway, having Super Porky in a match designed to get the doll characters over seems a little counterproductive. THAT guy can and will steal just about any show. Those first 3 you listed would all be incredible. One thing though, if you're in japan wouldn't you list the names from least prominence to most?
