  1. I really, really liked this match. Everything works from a character standpoint and Arn's destruction of Eaton's leg is on point. Problem being the crowd was completely worn out after the last match and this one needed 5 more minutes to really develop into something great. Put this on right after Gigante/Sid and I think the crowd eats it up.
  2. Fun match that did pick up the crowd from earlier in the show. I will agree that Scott absolutely destroys any chance this is remembered as a great match and that Ricky is all kinds of incredible in it.
  3. Hope Hansen at least got paid well for his time. J.R. and Dusty getting a chuckle out of this is certainly a nice moment for wrestling.
  4. Good match despite nobody caring. Of course, following Gigante and Sid, anything would have looked good. I agree that Doom should have been around much longer than they were.
  5. Good for how long it lasted. Could have used more taped fist shots to get the stip across.
  6. I did love Wilkins "poking the bear" as it were. And then Fujiwara's absolute delight in playing Wilkins' own game put an even bigger smile on my face. The more Fujiwara I see, the more I love the guy.
  7. Went more than a little long for my tastes, but the match was really, really good. Shamrock is surprisingly good at pro wrestling early on.
  8. Here's the thing for me about MVC. They were good to absolutely great at putting together memorable finishes. After watching as much 1990-1993 AJPW as I did, they just draaaag that middle of the match out laying in restholds and not really giving the opponent chances to fight back. If the opponent doesn't get their bursts of hope that look like they mean something, nobody is going to give a shit. It is to their credit that they can pick up dead crowds with their finishing runs, but the fact that they are repeatedly responsible for killing the crowd in the first place irritates the fuck out of me.
  9. Good promo for the match. Really makes you want to see Pillman knock the arrogance right out of Windham.
  10. Nice crazed promo by Embry, but he's clearly got way too much going on.
  11. This segment is pretty ridiculous. I suppose that's what happens when the wrong guy gets the book and pretty much botches the whole thing to make himself look good.
  12. I HATED the announcing for these matches, but Waltman and Lynn really got what wrestling is about. It's just too bad neither of them get the career they truly deserve after seeing these matches.
  13. Gilbert and DWB brawling all over the studio is great. I'm also surprised all of Memphis didn't know Brian Christopher was Lawler's kid after seeing him for 5 seconds.
  14. I'm 100% on board with the Santo dropkick that started caida 2 and the Casas low blow in between 2 and 3 as incredible moments. The matwork was really intense and well-done. Finish works great for the body of the match, which is too often not the case in wrestling. I hope Casas had some safe transportation out of the arena after that.
  15. Dundee doesn't look like the best ref for the King. I like the battle of the Hacksaws. Jimmy Golden finally getting something back on DWB is a good thing. The new U.S. tag champs have their work cut out for them.
  16. Hmm, i wonder if Martel will keep his promise. Hell of a main event tag for sure. Some foreshadowing by the Rockers maybe?
  17. I'll echo the love for Atlantis and especially Super Porky. Both other Brazos busted out some good stuff as well though.
  18. Jake absolutely kills it in every promo I've seen from him. You can see the start of a "new" Jake, you get the sense of loss and how it's messing with him.
  19. Funny stuff with the pregnant lady and Bobby making cracks that the crowd was not too pleased with. I'd have been laughing anyway.
  20. Horrible segment. I was pretty sure as soon as 'Quake mentioned he was a chef I knew where they were going. I hoped not, but there it is.
  21. I liked IRS actually naming wrestlers. Kind of ties him into, you know, EVERYTHING ELSE. Savage's line about Piper is classic. Who knew Savage was so good as an announcer? Bossman feuding with the Mountie may be good, but it's got a lot of potential pitfalls as well.
  22. Gilbert cuts another amazing promo. That was as close to a perfect I-used-to-be-a-heel fired up babyface promo as you can get. I'd agree that the bait-and-switch was completely unnecessary can could have been avoided.
  23. Finish is....way too familiar. Not sure why the whole tabloid Warrior story got brought up unless Hellwig somehow pissed Embry off somewhere along the line.
