Carlos Colon vs. Abdullah the Butcher (9/20/86)
These two really know how to up the ante. A weapon shot to the junk is something new and probably something you will only ever see in PR. Colon monkey flipping Abby and then suplexing him was pretty sweet too. I've seen Abby matches before and didn't mind what he brought to the table. But it seems like Abby really gives 110% when he's up against Colon. The matches are usually pretty great for it too.

Carlos Colon vs. Terry Funk (9/21/86)
So Funk's pre-match interview is the stuff of legends. He notices Hugo doesn't like getting spit on, so he stops talking and just flat out spits on him. And chases him down to continue the interview as Hugo just wants to get away. Then just when you think it's over he says he knows how to speak a foreign language. Oink Oink. The fans at ringside were just rabid for Terry and I think security wishes he's stayed more to the safe confines of the ring. You could see them getting a little worried at points. I enjoyed the sleeper with the hair pull bit, even if it didn't quite fit. Loved the finish, it works so well off of Terry's headbutts.

Invader I vs. Ron Starr (Street Fight) (8/17/86)
In addition to the lady who had to get held back when they went into the stands, there is an older gentleman in white who has to be held back as they near the end of their time in the stands. And he is arguing with one of the security guys that he belongs on the field after they leave the stands! Tremendous. Great match, if you would call it that, and I don't know how a guy as talented as Ron Starr wasn't a major player somewhere Stateside. Some of those belt whips got picked up by the camera mic, which is seriously insane.

Gino Dellaserra & Pierre Martel vs. Los Mercenarios (11/27/82)
Really good TV tag. I too love the evil Castro minion tag team gimmick. I think Martel had to leave so he didn't lose WAY too much blood. When he came back the bandage was already pretty soaked through and they hustled him out of there once it was over.

Carlos Colon vs. Tully Blanchard (1983)
Good brawl with Tully being such a little shit. Loved him running back in to knock Colon down after putting him over the barrier.

Hercules Ayala vs. Killer Tim Brooks (Taped Fist Cage Match) (October 1985)
I liked the bit with Brooks covering up as well. They again worked the gimmick, which may have detracted from how pretty the match was. But I am always a fan of guys actually working a gimmick match like it was THAT gimmick match.

Mat Work
El Dandy vs. Angel Azteca 6/1/90 was an amazing lucha matwork match as well.

The Invaders vs. Los Pastores (Barbed Wire Match) (9/21/85)
Good, bloody brawl with little else to it. I almost think they are on the right track for a barbed wire match. Pretending it is anything but trying to avoid the wire and send your opponent into it seems like you're not using the stip. It's not pretty or anything that's going to win awards for great wrestling psychology, but it just fits.

The Invaders vs. Chicky Starr & Ron Starr (3/29/86)
Invader 1 practically begging Chicky Starr to tag in is incredible. The heat on 3 was damn good, Invader 1's hot tag was definitely great. The ending, less that brain buster lifting DDT, was meh. I also really liked Invader 3's reversal second rope splash. Most of the time when guys do that it takes so long it looks bad, but this one was really well done.

Rock n Roll RPM's vs. The Crusher & Eric Embry (3/29/86)
Embry was gold here. Crusher was good enough as a big man, wasn't buying the RPMs that much.

Invader I vs. Eric Embry (June 1986)
I loved that old lady in the crowd giving Embry the death stare and kicking at him. Great brawl, both guys sell the beating they get as well as dish it out. Also, lots of blood.

1986 Fresh Face
WWC should be on there now.

Carlos Colon vs. Abdullah the Butcher (March 1986)
That ref went the extra mile this match. Taking the fork from Abby after a ridiculously long struggle. Then that absurd looking bump to the floor. Only to be back up quicker than most refs after a wrestler merely runs into them. Great strike exchanges throughout and I love this matchup.

Los Pastores vs. The Invaders (8/2/86)
I thought Miller's blade job was pretty good given the circumstances. I dug both the heel in peril and face in peril sections. That flag shot looked brutal post-match.
-
Invader III vs. Eric Embry (1/6/86)
Great match with Embry being the sleaziest stalling heel you ever saw. That bullet tope by Invader 3 was awesome! I do wish they'd shown us how Embry got cut.

Invader I vs. Chicky Starr (1/6/86)
Hugo's commentary is over the house mic. Invader 1 with some great selling even when he's on offense. I will second the love for the Chicky's Sport Shop set. So well done.

WWF on Tour November 1985
Man, Heenan selling the title rematch to Hart and rigging it in the end against the guys who beat his team is such a freaking Heenan thing to do. Great stuff. The 'tastics vs. Sheepherders is a match I would go back in time and pay to see anywhere.

WWF on Tour October 1985
SNME was really good. I liked the intro a lot, seemed like a very SNME way of doing things. Your tag team division is so freaking big right now. The Hart Foundation stuff is good, will they or won't they stay with Jimmy? Hogan vs. Money Inc. looks like a great feud. I agree that everyone would expect OMG to lose to Hogan. But he's fodder, a good way to extend things out on the way to the eventual DiBiase match.

NWA Lutte Internationale November 1985
This BR stuff is starting to get the Sensationals in a lot of trouble. Is Sherri really helping them at this point or are they better without her? I like how the Creatchman family is the target of so many people. Luckily the guy has a big brain on him! jacques and Black Bart is definitely heating up both promotions.

World Class Championship Wrestling: November 1985
Mike taking even Jimmy Garvin to a 10 minute draw stretches the limits of beleivability. But it IS Texas after all and he is a von Erich. A 20 minute (almost) main with the two Bam Bams would have been incredible on free TV in 85.

World Class Championship Wrestling: Sept-Oct 1985
A little much on the Jimmy Garvin for my tastes, but it all seems very Texas to me. The von Erichs getting the best of things every time was still a huge deal at this point, so that is pretty spot on as well.
