  1. Lawler/Embry in Memphis is a great, great matchup. Free from the constraints on blood and violence they really beat the shit out of each other.
  2. Eddie's punches right off the bat were absolute gold. Then of course he gets beaten into a bloody pulp. I liked that he was still crawling after Embry and co. as we go to commercial.
  3. JC Ice predictably double crosses Billy. And then Uncle Dave won't stop letting him know how disappointed and disgusted he is with this behavior. No wonder JC keeps acting out!
  4. Piper and Savage leaving in disgust was a nice touch. Ted worked a nice squash here with some crisp offense.
  5. Owen with some generic agility stuff, but I would agree that you don't want him doing too much too soon. Odd that the thing that really made Pillman stand out was his intensity and Owen stood out for his execution. Yet WCW wanted to push them for their amazing aerial attacks. Okay, not odd. What is the word I am looking for? Oh, it's very WCW that they did that.
  6. Great segment, Eddie getting fired up is always a treat and Embry is just so low down and dirty. Edit: Is this late 90s WCW ref Mickey Jay?
  7. I would echo the above statements for this. It's good, but given the participants that is the starting point and there is no reason this wasn't far, far better even if the feud had to continue.
  8. USWA Texas is even more reliant than Memphis side on the traditional Memphis nonsense. Must have something to do with being on ESPN and having to tone down the violence/no blood. Either way, great work that gets drowned out (again) by shit booking to continue the feud.
  9. I don't worry about whether I think the 90 match or this one are better. I think they are both incredible and wish they had made Pillman a big time challenger for Flair so we got matches throughout the 90s. Top notch work from both and it's hard for me to think that nobody in the WCW offices took notice of how amazing Pillman has been when given the chance.
  10. Great beatdown by Satanico. Not a lot more to say really.
  11. Morton and Flair always deliver when paired off. Barry is really coming on strong of late. As mentioned above, the booking kills this, but fun while it lasts.
  12. They are two for two this week on cage matches. Really strong roster right now means they don't have to rely on gimmicky stuff as much. Even if they do the patented Memphis heel beatdown afterwards as well as throw in ref bumps.
  13. This here looked like an incredible cage match. Both guys throwing awesome, violent strikes, Embry bleeding, those chairshots looked brutal. I am with soup, this would be the one MSC match I would want in full that I've seen so far.
  14. Man, if they weren't going to do anything real with Pillman, they should have not kept giving him chances to shine like this. Because both Pillman and Windham deliver and it makes for a great TV segment.
  15. Embry attacking Lawler's neck after the DDT was absolute gold. As was Lawler's comeback. I have to agree that the cage was all kinds of wrong and distracting.
  16. Love this matchup. Jumbo is so good at making a lesser guy like Kawada looks like he has a glimmer of a chance. Then slamming the door shut with enough authority that you know Jumbo is still The Man.
  17. Hogan when he is more subdued comes across as human. Not entirely, but enough that you can really get behind him as a babyface. Great interview.
  18. I am all for no more Brother Love, despite some very high points of the segment. But having your top babyface beat the crap out of a completely defenseless interviewer, no matter how much of an asshole he may be, seems a bit over the top.
  19. Once Kitao realized Tenta was onto him, he didn't get anywhere near where the big guy could grab him. Probably smart given Tenta's Greco-Roman background.
  20. Hogan really looks good. Crowd was NOT buying into Yatsu one bit.
  21. Kobashi was always great working a side headlock. Definitely better than Misawa working any kind of hold for any amount of time. Just not a strength of Misawa's and I'm pretty sure he knew that given how often he didn't do it. But how else do you wear down an up-and-coming stablemate like Kobashi without looking like a complete prick?
  22. Good beginning for bearer's interview segment. I like that just the idea of the Undertaker is scary to most of the wrestlers.
  23. Why did they not put the number you needed to all for tax advice on the screen?
