Current WWE
On top of the shaky cam, Dunn appears to be a huge fan of cuts between cameras, particularly when any major move occurs. Pretty much always on finishers.

PWO FEEDBACK
I'd say PWO has a definite contrarian streak compared to more mainstream views in wrestling forums, like the usual take on Shawn Michaels and Kurt Angle compared here to elsewhere. There's lots of nuance and difference in opinion here, but there are lots of (more) common opinions that cut against the grain. It was pretty jarring when I first started lurking here about a year and a half ago.

Modern Indie Wrestling
There's been a real influx in the last year or so of intergender matches. Haven't seen enough to comment, but the wow factor of a man vs. woman doesn't appeal to me.

Do "Standards change" in wrestling?
I've been watching the late 80s Crockett/WCW shows and how they treat the piledriver for Funk's return is very weird. It breaks Flair's neck (because it's on a table and Flair is exhausted?) but Steamboat kicks out at two in Funk's match against him. It's not talked about as a killer move.

Current WWE
Dollars to donuts they can't do anything about him working in Mexico. But if ADR wants to work in America, it's a bigger issue. Same with Brock or anyone else who tries to forego the non-compete.

Current WWE
What if he doesn't have a non-compete though, or what if it doesn't apply outside the U.S.? These tweets are from an AAA announcer. Why would AAA's (I assume) equivalent of Jim Ross post blatantly false information? I'm almost certain WWE owns the name though. Personally, I'd rename him Alberto Don Caras (assuming they can get away with even that). I don't know Mexican court's take on injunctions and non-competes, but there's a good chance it wouldn't apply outside the US, at least effectively.

Current WWE
Yeah the rising up to beat the latest monster shtick is pretty tired, but Cena's crushed it in his last few promos and if the match is half as good as the last one I'll be happy.

How'd the attendance look?

Current WWE
From the sound of it, yeah, but you can't exactly keep ADR around if he made things physical.

Who's that even meant for, Jones-Cormier?

If you're a WWE employer, now's probably a really bad time to act out in any way if you want to keep that employment.

Titans of Wrestling #32: WWWF at Madison Square Garden, March 17th 1975
No way the AWA can stand up to the numbers of the (W)WWF, but it's the closest comparison I can think of for hitting major cities and buildings over a broad geographic area. A quick look at cagematch says AWA shows were run more in stadiums nearing 10,000 rather than the 16,000+ for WWF. Chicago shows for AWA usually were at the International Amphitheater, which sat about 10,000, though they did run Comiskey Park a handful of times for the really big shows with mixed draws. And the UIC Pavilion in '88, which is another 10,000 seater or so. WWF had the major benefit of being in that megalopolis while the AWA had far greater distances to travel. Nothing/no one from that territory matches Bruno in his runs but it's a nice comparison.

G-1 Climax
If Dave, in his vast experience of watching wrestling, thinks this is the best tournament ever, that's one thing. His matter-of-fact statement that it is the best ever is excruciating.

Current WWE
Maybe I'm in a great mood or something, but tonight's Raw has been excellent so far. RVD-Rollins is hanging around in the future like a dark cloud, but no real complaints otherwise.

Famous fans
It helps too that "nerd culture is mainstream." I hate that phrase and thinking, but pro wrestling falls into that category now.

Current WWE
Cesaro and Paul confirmed as broken up tonight, but still friends. That's the kind of kayfabe continuity I'm fine with.

WWE Network... It's Here
On a related note to what JNLister just said, there's the issue of a lot of their polls being sent to current fans/subscribers. If you want to increase the network, look for lapsed fans and fans that never took to the WWE, which territorial and older content is more likely to pull in. Someone growing up watching Georgia might be interested in getting the network if they can relive that even if they have zero interest in $10 PPVs.

Dave Meltzer stuff
I'd put them in over Victoria or Mickie James. They might have been awful wrestlers, but a lot of angles and TV time centered around them in the early/mid 2000s.

Impact Cancelled
So who are the lucky, improbable winners of the TNA death pool with 2014? Never thought it'd go this long.

Rekindling the spark
There are certain things I like that I've loved for years, but it waivers between loving them but not having the time to really follow and centering my free time on them. Boxing and pro wrestling are those. Certain things, usually a different sport each year or so, I'll get super into then follow not so much for a few years then get really back into it. There have been a couple of multi-year stretches where I basically never watched pro wrestling and that might happen in the future, though as I get older (relatively, being only 25 and all) I do find my interests stabilizing compared to as a teen or when I was an undergrad. Free time becomes more and more limited so I hone it down to 2-3 things that I'm super into and leave it at that. I can hold a conversation on basically any of the major American sports (including soccer) but whenever people talk about new movies I might as well be my 80 year old Polish grandma. Same with non-sports TV. Except for a few bands, new albums are Greek to me. Right now pro-wrestling is on a two year hot streak after about 3 years of boxing being king. Who knows, maybe next year I'll watch almost no wrestling, but I can't imagine it'll go away forever.

WWE Network... It's Here
I think those stats are bit misleading. Except for SNME in the last few weeks, the original content has been pushed way, way harder. Things like Legends House have weekly airings designed to draw viewers. When you put up 30 Clash of the Champions at once, they're gonna get a scatter shot of viewers. Some of us start at one, some people might watch the ones they are interested in or remember, others might just go with the Monday Night War era. Same thing with the old ECW, WCCW, etc.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3
Pitchfork liking something Chikara related sure seems right.
