That Hornswoggle bump in the MITB made me a fan for life, regardless of all the nonsense he's been involved in.

I haven't seen much of his ECW/ROH stuff, but I've seen him work live twice. Once in an armory in '98 with Jerry Lynn. The card was made up of barely trained indy kids and a couple of names like Sid and Sheik. They went out and had a great 30 minute match, and I really thought he'd be picked up by WWF or WCW in no time. I saw him again last December at an Extreme Rising show, where he was the mystery challenger for Stevie Richard's title. He cut a terrific heel promo on Stevie, and I thought we would see a great brawl. Instead they had a 5 minute match built around thumb-to-the-butt heat segments. It was still one of the best matches on the card since it was Extreme Rising.

Sting/Shawn was the dream match brought up a lot in Apter mags. I guess Sting/Taker was always a thing too, but a lot people became fixated on it after the streak became a big deal. Maybe Russo recycling schlocky Taker angles during the Sting/Vampiro feud made people associate them.

He'd probably look too much like Dolph.

One of Foley's books mentions his relationship with HHH soured during Mick's program with Orton. I think he was under the impression that HHH wanted Orton to squash him.

I would run a number one contender tournament after Extreme Rules, and have Wade Barrett, fresh off winning the IC title, get wins over the usual suspects. Have him go over Sheamus again in the finals. That's two solid months of Barrett steamrolling dudes when you include the IC tourney. Have him knock out Bryan with the Bull Hammer during an encounter on TV. Then he jobs to Bryan in a highly competitive match at the next PPV. Sheamus brutally attacks Bryan afterwards, finally snapping from being isolated from the title scene. Then run Sheamus, Cesaro, and Brock concurrently the following months.

If there's heat it's because it didn't end with the Bryan stuff. Foley has been publicly complaining about his video game payoffs this week.

When Cody first came in he looked like he was 12. He definitely had that bland style from the developmental system at the time, but that moonsault was already a thing of beauty. He's grown a lot, and I've really warmed to him the last year or so. They showed that they can get an audience behind him with the firing storyline, and he showed he didn't look out of place with guys like Orton. It could just be a matter of time for a resurgence like Barrett's currently getting. I don't know what his ceiling is; during the brand split era he probably might've gotten a Smackdown title run.

Poor Dolph. I bet 80% of his interactions with people at signings is getting called Nicky or being asked what Amy Schumer's like.

All it takes to get Sting over with new fans is a really strong video package. I agree going beyond one match is probably asking a lot.

Based on Smackdown spoilers we might see a Heyman/Zeb match at some point, which would make me so happy.

There's some nice symmetry in Kane being Bryan's first challenger. Their friendship was part of the foundation of Bryan's Yes Movement run. Bryan spent months telling Kane to ditch the corporate gig and become the Big Red Machine again, and when Kane finally does he decides he's going to destroy Bryan. It has a different dynamic than their series from a couple of months ago, and as long as the gimmick they get stuck with allows, it's going to be a good match.

Who would be the best guy on the roster to stick RVD in a tag team with? Someone that can carry the workload or somebody he could help get over? There has to be a way to utilize the goodwill he still has with fans but keep him out of the way.

Umaga had offense that actually looked painful, and he was tremendous at playing a feral asskicker without it being campy.

It sounded like HHH came down with a bad case of Laurinaitis.

I loved Sheamus/Barrett. Hopefully they'll refresh Sheamus with a heel turn and make him a monster again, but at least Barrett's on the right track finally.

Once the Bryan feud is over, maybe they can run Kane/Torito, mask versus mask.

The only time Steamboat and HBK shared a ring was during a battle royal in '91.

HBK/Eddie was a tentative match for Mania 22 before Eddie's death.

Punk and Flair tagged together once on Raw and they got physical at the Slammys a couple of years ago when Ric returned from TNA, but no proper singles match.

I don't know if Vis was a giant mark for himself, or if he made more money on the indies with it, which would be genius.

I don't think a promotion's ever done it like the Fox deal Heyman mentioned. I think it would be fun to have a syndicated afternoon show for a half hour each day that resembled old studio shows.
