What Happened When with Tony Schiavone
Really? I like him alright, but Conrad takes the show in undesirable directions imo. The Uncensored 1995 episode, for example. I'd love to see what Cornette, Last or a multitude of other podcasters could get out of Tony. Conrad seems such a waste.

Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard
The WWECW episode was a drastic improvement on recent ones. Conrad did his research and Prichard had plenty to say. When it's good, it's good.

Oh God, you two haven't met, have you?

The Steve Austin Show
Bumping this to mention the Shane McMahon interview this week. Quite enjoyable, especially a bit when Shane refers to the territories 'starting to dry up' in the late 80's and Austin smirks....

Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard
Do you disagree? I love the show. One of my favorite podcasts. I just find it puzzling that the same people bash it every week yet continue to listen. Must love punishment Have you noticed a change in the presentation over time? It's become a lot more schtick, box of gimmicks etc and a lot less insightful as time has gone on.

Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard
The show is close to unlistenable for me now. The judgment day episode consisted of endless ads and tiresome impressions. Conrad's really running this into the ground.

Jeff Learns Wrestling
20 minutes in to this. You're doing good, Justin. Really daunting prospect, for both you and Jeff. I'd have no idea where to start with a novice.

Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard
The recent Love To Know episode is a hard listen. Lots of absolutely terrible chicken salad/box of gimmicks etc questions. And Conrad gets to be more of an asshole. They're catering to their audience, I suppose. But their audience is terrible.

Schiavone and Cornette's blind spots as fans
What about when performers he does like, such as Arn, Tully and Flair go up north? Is the presentation that different that he cannot enjoy their work there? I think this is the heart of what I'm getting at. Even within the first year that I started watching, in 1990, I was a fan of what I considered 'good matches' and 'good wrestlers'. Where they plied their trade didn't matter that much to me. Does that put me in the minority?

Schiavone and Cornette's blind spots as fans
Thats just wrong. Both statements are incorrect. Like just about everything, its not that black and white. In many fields there are likely countless anecdotes suggesting that performers are not fans, and others suggesting they very much are. But people like big, loud statements and aren't on board with exceptions or contrary evidence that adds any kind of nuance to such discussions. Thanks Wingedeagle. Generalisations and absolutes don't help in this particular discussion.

Schiavone and Cornette's blind spots as fans
I agree with that. What I find curious about Schiavone though, is that he's been away for 15 years, has always been a JCP and particularly Flair fan and never filled in that gap.

Mauro and JBL
The only issue here is that I truly believe all JBL hazing is at the behest of Vince. If Vince wanted someone left alone, he would be left alone. If JBL gets fired, it's an empty gesture, and another person will just step up to fill the role. Has HHH any reputation for this sort of thing?

Schiavone and Cornette's blind spots as fans
I'm not sure why, but I found it fascinating that Schiavone said he'd never watched the Flair-Steamboat trilogy. Around the time of Warrior's passing, Cornette said he didn't watch any WWF in the late 80s, despite taping and keeping up with most other groups. Is it that that generation looked at it as work, even though they'd grown up as fans, and didn't really bother to plug the gaps on highly-touted stuff? Do younger on-air staff make more of an effort to keep up? I'm not sure what else to say about all this yet, hoping to get some good replies to steer this a bit.
