I'd love to hear some discussion about the use of music in WWF from 1985-93. At the beginning, having music made a wrestler stand out. By the end of that period, anyone without music seemed really weird.

He wanted to fight. He did. Win or lose, 99.9999999% of the population can't say that. That's ballsy for someone who really isn't a natural athlete. I respect him. And lol at the HHH reaction, a guy who probably has never been in a "real" fight in his life what did HHH say?

Well, yeah. Power Slam (and even it's predecessor, Superstars of Wrestling) was my gateway to everything beyond WWF. In 1994, I got in touch with a tape trader advertised in there. Among the first things I ordered were the 1989 trilogy and the Flair-Funk matches. Sampled bits of All Japan, New Japan, Sabu and most 80's US territories too.

Had you not watched much NWA prior to the Flair DVD? I've mentioned this before, but I'd love to get a sense of when and how your fandom developed.

I've listened to the Montreal episode today. Maybe it's listening to so many so quickly, but Conrad's investigative reportor stance and Prichard's coy responses are getting a little tiresome.

Really impressed with the way Conrad cuts through the bullshit on the Warrior episode. He lets Prichard away with absolutely nothing.

Really enjoyable show - great chemistry between you two.

Really liked the bit at the start on wrestling fandom. I'm in a similar jaded position with WWE - I don't like everything that goes on, but I've bigger fish to fry.

Now that you've started me on this nostalgia kick, I remember WCW first taking on a Saturday afternoon slot in Northern Ireland sometime in the autumn of 1990. Lance Russell commentated, it was almost entirely squashes. The biggest match I remember from then was Flair v Scott Steiner, with Flair pinning him after Scott had come agonisingly close to victory. Another thing that sticks out was Nasty Boys and Steiners constantly trying to interfere in each others squashes, but officials came out and they never, ever got to lay a finger on each other. Infuriated the life out of me.

Watched this a whie ago, isn't there something funny about the editing on the finish? As though they re-did it or something.
