1990s NJPW Recommendations
Done. I'll post each year separately to make it easier to reply with additional matches or any other thoughts...

Jushin "Thunder" Liger
Any recommendations for Liger matches in the 2010s? He's been talked about as great for so long, and in the 90s that was absolutely the case, but did his career just quietly roll along for the last few years? Happy to be - actually, hoping to be - proven wrong here!

Great Sasuke vs. Wild Pegasus (New Japan 4/16/94 – J-Cup Finals) I worked my way through all the big All Japan 1990s matches in the last few years, and I'm keen to do something similar with New Japan. I know the DVDVR list above - I'm looking for additional matches. The later years of the decade don't seem as well represented there. Thank you.

How much stock do you place in your memories as a fan?
Even at that, do you trust your database from, say, 2013-16? You said yourself in your podcast that your list will be radically different from 2016.

Ric Flair
I've heard people complain that Okada starts his matches with slow, dull matwork - that's something you could complain about as it's happening. My point is that the beginning of Flair's matches are exciting.

How much stock do you place in your memories as a fan?
I'll use myself as an example. I've been a fan since 1991. I found pwo in 2013, finally signed in the following year. Followed GWE 2016 closely but ultimately didn't vote. I'd say I 'trust' my opinions on wrestling back to about 2012 (as in, anything I watched before that I'd be uncomfortable assuming I'd feel the same way about now without a rewatch). Even at that I've watched (and rewatched) a good load since 2012. The idea of trying to squeeze my 2012-2026 viewing into a top 100 without recency bias playing a part is daunting....

Barry Windham
Just a real comfort food wrestler to me. I became a fan in 1991, and loved his work in '92. Sometimes I think I'm overrating him based on too little top tier work, but he did finish in the top 20 in 2016..
-
Ric Flair
Yeah, I think when I hear complaints about Flair's matches being too long - or padded out - it's from after the fact. Not many complain about the beginning of the match during the beginning of the match.
-
Ric Flair
Come on, Matt. Is that sarcasm? What do you mean?

Time to throw the cat among the pigeons... Has there been any new footage unearth since 2016 that might change anyone's opinion here?
-
Samoa Joe
Looks like we can put a bow on his entire career at this stage. Hell of a comeback from 2015-17, and some interesting stuff here and there after that.

AJ Styles
Interesting to think back to April 2016 - he was off to a shaky start in WWE in matches with Jericho but that changed very drastically, very quickly. I'd argue the Owens feud in 207 was the first sign of him slipping, but he's kept a very high standard, pulling out really great performances when absolutely needed until now.

Politely requesting recommendations from @el-p (and others) for his best TNA matches

Undertaker
How does 2016-20 help or hurt him? Only positives that come to mind for me are vs Reigns and vs Styles at WrestleMania, and a tag match in a July 2019 PPV...
-
Brock Lesnar
I'll be curious to see what everyone makes of his April 2016 to April 2020 (he hasn't worked since, right?) work. Interesting work with Balor, Bryan, Styles, Joe and Goldberg. Less successful results with Rollins, Reigns and Stroman. Oh, and Rumble 2020.....
-
Daniel Bryan
Could someone recommend his best matches since WrestleMania 35 (I fell off watching regularly after that)?

Pro Wrestling Love Is Now A PTBN Podcast Series
Just finished the last of the shoot style series and although it's a world I've very little knowledge of I really enjoyed it. What's next, Marty? Don't stop now!

Conrad Thompson set to expand his podcast schedule with new shows
I second all that. Angle comes across as a decent guy in the first two episodes I’ve listened to. Looking forward to more.

The grand and pathetic journey of the Undertaker at WrestleMania
In HHH's defense, going in to Wrestlemania 27 he did seem like the biggest possible opponent for Undertaker. They had wrestled in 2002, and then not touched until a Smackdown in autumn 2008, then worked the finishing stretch at Elimination Chamber 2009. That's very little interaction between two of the biggest names of the 2000s.
