  2. I meant Hit Man... but I don't doubt that Savage may show up out of nowhere and lay claim to the tournament victory.
  3. Anxiously awaiting to see how the Macho Man and Cowboy Bob finish up... Jimmy Hart has a lot invested in this tournament.
  4. Yeah, my argument for Spivey would be to have him work for one more year. He is old and beat up at this point but could still work tags. That's all I'd ask for him to be available is until December of 1996. I am good either way though.
  5. ROUND 1 Butch Reed over Volkoff Savage over Morton Tom Pritchard over Perez Gordy over Embry Ray Rougeau over Lane Tito over Graham Don Muraco over Bret (even though I am pulling for him) Jacques over Buddy Windham over Slater - MATCH OF THE NIGHT FIRST ROUND! Rhodes over Idol - SLEEPER MATCH Von Erich over Steele Larry Z over Jay (I need to check my booking on him, should be fine) Martel over Jaggers Garvin over Sawyer Orton over Flame Gibson over Mike Davis ROUND 2 Savage over Reed - LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS! Gordy over Pritchard Ray Rougeau over Tito - THIS IS A GREAT MATCH UP Muraco over Jacques - GET SOME HEAT! Windham vs Rhodes - HAS TO BE A DRAW RIGHT? Kerry over Larry Z Martel over Garvin - THIS SHOULD BE FUN Orton over Gibson ROUND 3 Savage over Gory - MACHO MAN GOING WILD! Ray Rougeau over Muraco - REVENGE OF THE ROUGEAUS! Von Erich moves on due to the Windham/Rhodes DRAW Martel over Orton ROUND 4 Savage over Rougeau - IT HAS TO HAPPEN! Martel over Von Erich - AMAZBALLS! FINALS Obviously I want Savage but this is Martel's to lose. He is in a prime spot and he will take the win... it is going to be bonkers!
  6. Got a chance to sit down and get back into reading. Lutte continues to impress and personalizes itself apart from the competition. I like how all things build towards the tournament but you still have some big stuff going back on homebase. I like the use of the managers and the slow rise of Hotstuff. I see him being a big part of Lutte's future.
  7. You have got MACW down with the right movements right now. I like the house show circuits and the dark match main events. It is something I would like to utilize but just don't find time to do. Interesting to see Backlund here and it is inevitable before he and Flair really heat up. All the while we have this Magnum TA guy who is ready to explode onto the world... good stuff to come.
  8. I like seeing the growth of the AWA and with the 2nd show, things will get bigger. With names like Wahoo and Rude freshening things up you can still call back to your Patera and Steamboat stalwarts. I still think there is a lot of potential in Mr. Wonderful around these parts and I really look forward to what Bad News Allen could become.
  9. Some friggen huge matches coming up... love Dusty vs Harley and the Von Erichs vs Freebirds... but I am really excited to see the Hacksaw Reed vs JYD contest. Continued success from the USWA!
  10. In perhaps the most shocking news in the world of Japanese Wrestling, Genichiro Tenryu has reportedly signed with All Japan for the upcoming tour! This is one of the biggest comeback stories in professional wrestling and many thought that Baba would never allow the signing. It came through that Misawa and Kawada were the ones who brokered the deal with Tenryu who was recently looking for a fill time job. No word on if he will return to the ring or just have a position in the company and there is still some turmoil between Tenryu and Baba.We will see if cooler heads prevail as everyone knows that Tenryu will be an asset to the company but will egos prevail? In regards to the Junior division of All Japan, Misawa has put together an eight man PURE tournament for the All Japan Jr. Heavyweight Championship. It is said to be a PURE tournament, meaning that there will be a true champion. It will be double elimination and held throughout the tour. Names like Black Tiger, Ultimo Dragon, Tsuyoshi Kikuchi, Akira Nogami, Osamu Nishimura, and Yoshinari Ogawa have already been announced. With two more spaces available, we will see who will be involved in this special tour feature. Stan Hansen was one of the few Gaijin who stayed around after the Misawa booking move. He and Misawa have a good relationship and we will see how Hansen handles the change as he is loyal to Baba. Hansen for all intensive purposes is in the twilight of his career but he feels still as though he has got something to prove to the new regime.
  11. Danny Spivey's in ring career is over in October but All Japan can get some use out of him until then... unless we want to act like he never got injured by Diesel...
  12. (26.08.1995) AJPW Summer Action Series II 1995 - Tag 6 @ Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan Singles Match Mighty Inoue defeats Maunakea Mossman Singles Match Tsuyoshi Kikuchi defeats Kentaro Shiga Singles Match Bobby Fulton defeats Satoru Asako Six Man Tag Team Match Giant Baba, Joel Deaton & Mitsuo Momota defeat Haruka Eigen, Masanobu Fuchi & Ryukaku Izumida Six Man Tag Team Match Dan Kroffat, Doug Furnas & Lacrosse defeat Abdullah The Butcher, Giant Kimala & Tommy Rogers Tag Team Match Johnny Ace & Richard Slinger defeat Takao Omori & Tamon Honda Tag Team Match Bobby Duncum Jr. & Stan Hansen defeat The Eagle & The Patriot Six Man Tag Team Match Holy Demon Army (Akira Taue, Toshiaki Kawada & Yoshinari Ogawa) defeat Jun Akiyama, Kenta Kobashi & Mitsuharu Misawa (24:43) This show was held last night in front of a Korakuen Hall crowd. It was after the event that things changed. Giant Baba struggled physcially after the match and got medical attention. It was during this time that Baba decided to relinquish his booking duties to Mitsuhara Misawa for the foreseeable future! Misawa, the current Triple Crown Champion, is said to be very excited about the possibility of turning things around for All Japan and made that clear on his first night when he sent many of the Gaijin home after the event. Furnas, Kroffat, and the Fantastics were some of the main names gone and some were surprised when Williams and Ace were also sent home. Misawa is going to be giving the boys a break for the next couple of days before coming back on September 2nd with a special television episode and the introduction of some very exciting Junior Heavyweights. Misawa is going to look at some of the talent from around Japan and the world and possibly cause some heads to turn on the way All Japan is perceived for the foreseeable future. One of the major names to be brought in was New Japan's Black Tiger, aka Eddie Guerrero. This shake up has shocked the Japanese wrestling world and there are a lot of eyes on Misawa as he begins his session in September to try and put All Japan on top of the wrestling world.
  13. I think it was just a market type thing. Typically you wouldn't see Houston stuff in New York outside of a long distance phone call... but I definitely see the issue at hand. Made the change for tonight's show in LA as there could be national press on the event.

Vince: That’s right, plus we have action from the tag team of Tony Atlas and Rocky Johnson along with The Barbarian! Jesse: The Barbarian is a man alone… and he may just be more dangerous than ever… Vince: You have got that right Jesse… right now it is time to head to the ring for our opening contest… let’s see the All-American from Syracuse… Mike Rotundo! Mike Rotundo defeated Omar Atlas -A nice singles showcase for Rotundo who is on his own now. Vince and Jesse talk about how Williams was hurt at the hands of Orton and Slater and how Rotundo is looking to avenge his fallen partner. Inside the ring tonight, we see Rotundo hit a nice middle rope clothesline for the 1…2….3! He gets a nice pop from the crowd as he looks to set out on this singles journey in the WWF. *COMMERCIAL* -Superstars is back with Jesse and Vince putting over Rotundo’s chances as a singles star and say he may be on the look out for a new tag team partner down the line. Slaughter taking out Lord Alfred last week and ending his career. They put over Barb and talk about what he could do in the ring as we cut to him in action… The Barbarian defeated Mr. Wrestling II -Speaking of big changes, here is the Barbarian all by himself and he is a monster. Who is going to be able to control this guy? *COMMERCIAL* -We are back with Vince and Jesse putting over the team of Tony Atlas and Rocky Johnson. He is going off at the mouth about everything and talks about Hulk Hogan’s appearance on wrestling challenge… Roddy Piper: Yeah, you know I heard Hogan is going to be on Wrestling Challenge next week… guys a comedian you know… always telling jokes… like him being a World Champion. Lemme tell you something Hukster… you haven’t been champion till you put the Rowdy One down and no one can do that pal. You wanna talk Masked Superstar… that guys gonna rip you apart bud and then I am gonna come get whatever is left! Now I am out here to talk about the SUPERFLY… no not Rick James… I am talking Jimmy Snuka. This Savage… nothing more than a shade away from a monkey comes out here… WHOO WHOO WHOO…. I have a special guest this week… he is a little step above Snuka… he can actually say a couple of things… let’s bring him out… -Piper then welcomes out The Tonga Kid who makes his WWF debut. The crowd gives him some love before Piper just goes on a tirade and rips him apart. Tonga doesn’t take too kindly to it before challenge Piper who just cold cocks him in the eye! Tonga goes down before Piper reaches under the table and he grabs a banana! He opens it up and shoves it right in Tonga’s face! He starts to lay the boots to him before officials come out and Piper starts winging at them! Piper throws the microphone down as the crowd is letting him have it! *COMMERCIAL* -Jesse and Vince are back with McMahon apologizing continually for Piper’s actions while Ventura says it was what was needed. Much like Ventura… Piper is one of the few men who speaks the truth and the truth should be heard! McMahon is appalled at all of this as we cut to the ring for our main event! MAIN EVENT Randy Savage w/ Elizabeth vs Hector Guerrero -A nice little main event with the Macho Man showing off some skills. The main issue during this contest is when Gino Hernandez walks down to the ring with the IC title and tries to talk to Elizabeth! Jesse and Vince are going nuts over this as Hernandez puts his hands on Elizabeth and here comes Savage! Officials and agents come down to break this one up as Savage is irate! Hernandez backs off and smiles up the aisle way as Savage looks HOT! He gets back in the ring and gives Hector a little time to shine before coming back and nailing the flying elbow for the 1….2….3!
