  1. I've seen a lot of this as I have done these types of projects. The best advice I give is to plan an event in 6 months and then work backwards. I think you have done that with the whole WTBS stuff, now it is about finding another event that is important to get to. For me... I have the big return of Ted Dibiase this week which is a major point, the next is the tag tournament, and then going from moment to moment and building up things from there.
  2. {Power Pro Wrestling opens showcasing the top talent in Mid South as we cut to the studio and see Vince McMahon standing by.} Vince McMahon: Welcome everyone to Power Pro Wrestling. I am Vince McMahon and fans we have got a great series of events to go through this evening. We will highlight the 48-hour journey towards the television championship that saw a twenty man battle royal turn into a one on one contest. Tonight we will show you those matches in full… let us begin with the big twenty-man battle royal. Let’s go to footage from this past week’s Mid South Wrestling! MID SOUTH TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP NUMBER ONE CONTENDER BATTLE ROYAL Don Muraco, Wahoo McDaniel, Rick Rude, Jim Duggan, Krusher Kruschev Magnum TA, King Kong Bundy, Scott Casey, Gino Hernandez, The Executioner SD Jones, Jose Lothario, Ivan Putski, Lord Humungous, Brady Boone Norville Austin, Omar Atlas, Dominic DeNucci, Black Shadow, White Shadow -No better way to start the show than with twenty of the top wrestlers in Mid South. We see the debut of Norville Austin who has some name value and Jim Ross puts it over. We also see the return of the Executioner who looks to be pretty ripped and spent some time in the gym. He pales in comparison to Humungous though; this guy is an absolute monster. The bell rings and we get under way. We get some real hard hitting action to kick things off but the biggest event happens when Humungous and the Executioner go on a tear and rip through some of the lower named guys. We see the Shadows, DeNucci, Atlas, and Boone go flying out of the ring in moments as both of these guys are tearing it up and then they come to blow with one another and the crowd pops! In an even bigger moment, we see Hacksaw Duggan and Ivan Putski walk over and lift both men’s legs and throw them over the top to the floor! This battle isn’t over though as the Executioner and Humungous continue to brawl outside the ring! We will be right back! *COMMERCIAL* -We return to MSW and Ross puts over some of the eliminations that happened during the break as Norville Austin, Jose Lothario, and SD Jones were all eliminated and we are down to our final10. One of the underlying stories throughout this match has been Rude and Bundy teaming up and we see that when they eliminate Ivan Putski. Don Muraco throws out Scott Casey but then Rude and Bundy throw him out! On the other side of the ring, Duggan looks like he’s about to eliminate Hernandez but here comes Kruschev and he tosses out Duggan! We’ve got six men in the ring remaining and what an interesting pairing as we see Kruschev team up with Bundy and Rude on Wahoo but as Krusher hits the ropes, Duggan pulls it down and Kruschev goes flying to the floor! These two guys continue to brawl! Inside the ring, we’ve got five men remaining and Wahoo and Magnum have got the crowd going wild. Wrestling II says he is looking forward to whomever wins. It is a tornado tag team match for all intensive purposes right now with Gino Hernandez playing cat and mouse. The big finish comes with Wahoo and Bundy near the ropes and then Rick Rude runs over and he picks up Wahoo but he tangles with Bundy as they fly over the top to the floor. Jimmy Hart is wondering what Rude has just done but here comes Magnum TA with a nasty dropkick to Rude’s back and his neck whiplashes and then goes over the top to the floor! It is Magnum and Gino but Gino comes with a low blow! He then turns and tosses Magnum over the top and to the floor! Gino Hernandez has won it! Gino will face Wrestling II this Friday night for the title! *COMMERCIAL* -Power Pro returns with Vince McMahon putting this over in a big way. He talks about the challenger, Gino Hernandez and how he faired against Wrestling II who is wrestling his first match since February the 4th. He talks about how the team of Gino and Tully has foretold their future thus far… but now we see if they speak truth. We head to the ring for footage from this past week in Houston, Texas. MID SOUTH TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP Mr. Wrestling II © vs Gino Hernandez -This is a white hot contest from the get go as Mr. Wrestling II is back and he’s in prime form. He looks good out there but you can tell he isn’t in the prime of his career. Gino however, is just on fire from the word go. He gets some great early heat from Wrestling II and he’s got the crowd in the palm of his hand. We then see Wrestling II get his offense going and Gino bumps around for him like crazy and makes him look like a million dollars. Vince McMahon is solo on the voiceover here and he doesn’t quite do the match justice but gives it a good go ahead. As things start to wind down, we see Gino working over the knee of Wrestling II ad setting him up with a nasty figure four leg lock. Wrestling II is able to get to the ropes but he is in a bad way! Gino is looking to finish but II has got something else up his sleeve as he gets control. He is looking to finish with the big knee but Gino moves. Wrestling II is struggling right now and Gino grabs him and kicks the knee before hitting a DDT! 1….2….3!! GINO HERNANDEZ IS THE NEW TELEVISION CHAMPION! He works the crowd as Tully comes out and celebrates with him! The Houston crowd is HOT! *COMMERCIAL* -Power Pro returns with Vince McMahon putting Gino Hernandez over in a big way. He talks about the television title win and how this is the momentum that Tully Blanchard may need to win the title this week on MSW against Ted Dibiase. Vince puts over that big title match and we close the show with words from both men regarding the big showdown this week from Shreveport! Tully Blanchard: You people just saw history made. Gino Hernandez is the new television champion and lemme tell ya… he deserved it in every way! It was the first fall in a blizzard that is going to take over Mid South Wrestling. We said it when we arrived but now it is time… now it is time for me to fulfill my destiny! Ted Dibiase… you’ve been gone but not forgotten pal. This week, it all comes together and let me tell you something right now… if you’re a gambling man, but every single dime you’ve got on Tully Blanchard because there’s no way on this world I am not walking out with that title! Ted Dibiase: The winds of change are definitely swirling here in Mid South and it was evident just this past week in Houston. It has been evident since Tully Blanchard and Gino Hernandez came to Mid South. Well boys… let me explain it to you as simply as I can… I am the North American champion for a reason and there is nothing you can do about it. I don’t have very many friends, but that happens when you go to the top like I did. That’s what happens when you do what I did to get this title. But don’t forget… it is my title and there’s no way you are going to be able to take it from me! MSW Preview for 3/21! Ted Dibiase defend the North American Championship against Tully Blanchard! Magnum TA & Wahoo McDaniel take on King Kong Bundy and Rick Rude! The Mid South Tag Team Champion Fantastics take on The Killer Bees! Plus Ivan Koloff and Krusher Kruschev are going to be in the arena and they may have some choice things to say about the All Americans!

  6. Mid South Wrestling is coming to you on its Fox Affiliates throughout Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. Action is coming to you tonight from the Civic Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Jim Ross: Welcome everyone to Mid South Wrestling! I am Jim Ross and fans what a night of action we have in store for you this evening. You can see the ring is filling up as we speak. Twenty of the top wrestlers in Mid South are about to step into the ring for the chance of a lifetime this Friday night against Mr. Wrestling II in Houston, Texas as he returns to the ring to defend that television championship. I want to welcome in the champion right now, welcome to the broadcast. Mr. Wrestling II: It is good to be here Jim. I am happy to say that I am back to 100% and come Friday night, I am going to show the world why I am the rightful champion and why I’ve held this title for as long as I have. Jim Ross: When we look at all the competitors here tonight, you’ve got twenty big names, who do you see as potential threats? Wrestling II: To be honest with you Jim, I will wrestle anyone, anytime. The way I see it… you’ve got some tough competitors but no one I wouldn’t be afraid to step into the ring with. Jim Ross: How about Magnum TA? Wahoo McDaniel? Friends of yours? Wrestling II: People say blood is thicker than water… but lemme tell you Jim… gold is thicker than anything when it comes to this sport. If I have to throw hands with either man, I will throw hands! Jim Ross: It will be interesting to see how that goes down, fans we have some supplementary matches including the Mid South tag team champions and another showdown with the Russians and the All-Americans. It is time to find out who will face Mr. Wrestling II this Friday night… let’s head to the ring! MID SOUTH TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP NUMBER ONE CONTENDER BATTLE ROYAL Don Muraco, Wahoo McDaniel, Rick Rude, Jim Duggan, Krusher Kruschev Magnum TA, King Kong Bundy, Scott Casey, Gino Hernandez, The Executioner SD Jones, Jose Lothario, Ivan Putski, Lord Humungous, Brady Boone Norville Austin, Omar Atlas, Dominic DeNucci, Black Shadow, White Shadow -No better way to start the show than with twenty of the top wrestlers in Mid South. One of the underlying stories throughout this match has been Rude and Bundy teaming up and we see that when they eliminate Ivan Putski. It is Magnum and Gino but Gino comes with a low blow! He then turns and tosses Magnum over the top and to the floor! Gino Hernandez has won it! Gino will face Wrestling II this Friday night for the title! -Ross and Wrestling II put this over in a big way. We hear Wrestling II say that Hernandez is dangerous and someone to be reckoned with. Ross says he has got all the momentum in the world and it could spell trouble for Wrestling II. Ross puts this over one more time, as we will see the Mid South Tag Team Champions when we come back! *COMMERCIAL* -MSW returns with Jim Ross, Gino Hernandez, and Tully Blanchard at the announce table. Jim Ross asks Tully what his plan is for Ted Dibiase next week… Tully Blanchard: Let me tell you something right now Jim Ross and I want the people of Mid South to know that in one week, the future of this company will look completely different. In one week, Gino Hernandez is going to be the television champion of Mid South and in one week, I am going to defeat Ted Dibiase and become the North American Champion. I am putting everyone on notice right now… when we came to Mid South… Gino and I said the titles would be ours… and if you hold the gold you are on the dotted line. -The crowd then pops as Bobby Fulton and Tommy Rogers come out with the tag team titles… they tell Tully and Gino that their hopes and dreams of gold are just hopes and dreams and they are reality! Gino and Tully smile and walk off as we’ve got tag team action with the champions right now. The Fantastics vs the Killer Bees (Blair and Brunzell under hoods) -This one is a fun little contest as Ross puts over the Bees as some up and comers. Much like the Conquistadors, the Bees put together a damn good match with the Fantastics. They go about 8-minutes and it is a sprint from start to finish. Ross can’t tell which Bee is which but it doesn’t make too much difference. The end of the contest is a little chaotic but we see one of the Bees go flying into the ring post. Rogers then dropkicks the other right on the chin and he goes backwards into Fulton who gets him with the crucifix for the 1….2…3! The Champions are the winners here and this is a hard fought battle. The crowd gives the Bees their due as the Fantastics shake their hands. Ross puts it over in a big way and puts over the big main event when we come back! *COMMERCIAL* -MSW returns with Jim Ross being joined by Bill Watts. They put over Mid South Wrestling and Watts talks about the future of the company. He talks about reaching out to fans all over the country. He says that next week will be a huge week of Mid South Wrestling when we see Tully Blanchard vs Ted Dibiase. He says that people from all over the country will be tuning in to see who walks out with the gold. He then puts over the big $200,000 tag team tournament in Houston. He says that Mid South will be sending some big time teams and we will hear the seedings in the coming days for that tournament and who will get byes for the first round. Ross and Watts then turn their attention to the big Russian vs USA issue going on. Watts says he doesn’t know about Ivan Koloff and what his intentions are… Ross says we will probably find out sooner than later. Mike Rotundo & Steve Williams vs Alexis Smirnoff & Chris Markoff -A fun little main event here as Kruschev is nowhere to be see and Duggan has jumped on to put over American and his All-Americans here. The crowd is really behind Williams and Rotundo who are putting together one heck of a tag team in the early going on their run. Markoff and Smirnoff are off the mark and you can see it from the word go. It isn’t the best looking match but Rotundo and Williams are really something special. We see a big Oklahoma Stampede from Williams on Markoff for the 1…2…3! Duggan joins his men as they celebrate out of the arena. The crowd then stirs when Krusher Kruschev walks out and he is joined by Ivan Koloff! They walk down to the ring as Markoff and Smirnoff are trying to regroup. Ivan then nods his head and Krusher Kruschev destroys Smirnoff with the Russian Chain! Markoff gets up and then Krusher hits him with another huge clothesline and he falls out of the ring. Ivan and Krusher shake hands… is this the new Russian contingent? This could get interesting for Duggan and company. We’ll see you next week!
  7. Paul Boesch presents… the $200,000 Tag Team Grand Prix! Live on April the 6th and the 7th from the Sam Houston Coliseum in Houston, Texas. The top 24 teams in the world will be in Houston for one of the biggest prizes in the history of professional wrestling. Sam Houston: Lemme tell you something Terry… this is the biggest chance we’ve ever had man. You are talking about $200,000 on the line and anything could happen! Terry Taylor: That’s right Sam… I mean you’re talking about fighting for two days… and we know that we’re going to have to go through five matches. Sam Houston: Hey man, underdogs have done it before… Terry Taylor: And if you ask me… this is going to be a story of us underdogs doing it one more time! Gino Hernandez: The blatant disrespect given to myself and my partner Tully Blanchard is beyond reprehensible. Paul Boesch, you and you little conglomerate of individuals who feel as though they make decisions have made the worst decision of a lifetime… you’ve made the two of us angry. Tully Blanchard: Paul Boesch… the seeding of this tournament stinks of controversy and blatant thievery. We were robbed of that first round bye… but Gino, you and I both know there’s a chance for us to get that spot… Gino Hernandez: That’s right Tully… Bobby Fulton and Tommy Rogers… we’ve got you on our mind and we want those tag titles and that seed… you are looking at two men who are going to be $200,000 richer… Tully Blanchard: And there’s nothing you can do about it! Rick Rude: Promises, promises. You look at the top 24 tag teams in all of professional wrestling and you look at the top billed team… the number one draw… King Kong Bundy and Rick Rude. Now we didn’t get the seed but we know Paul Boesch is too afraid do something like that. He puts us in there against the Windhams. Well Barry… you better call your daddy and your momma and tell them goodbye because you won’t be coming back from Houston! King Kong Bundy: HAHA! The Windhams… a rich family with history throughout Texas. Well I know your daddy and I’ve beat him just like I am goin to beat the two of you. Texas won’t be prepared for the AVALANCHE I AM BRINGING! Dick Slater: Right here brother… tag team titles. This is what it is all about on most counts… but not on April the 6th and 7th. Bob Orton: That’s right Dick. You are talking $200,000. We could stretch that a long way don’t you think? Dick Slater: Haha… I think we could make some serious friends and put away some serious enemies with that kind of money. Bob Orton: Without a doubt… and whoever is in our way… you better know we are going to be bringing the fight and we are bringing it double tough! Michael Hayes: I can already hear Freebird blaring through the arena. The Sam Houston Coliseum is going to be rocking and rolling with the Freebirds daddy and you are looking at two bad dudes from Badstreet USA! Terry Gordy: Michael… we know what tag team wrassling is all about and come the tournament, you and I are going to be PRIMED AND READY for WAR! WAR! WAR! Michael Hayes: That’s right Terry… there’s no stop signs and no speed limits to that $200,000 prize and you are looking at two bad dudes with bad attitudes who want it all for themselves! ALSO SIGNED FOR THE CARD. NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION, RIC FLAIR DEFENDS HIS CHAMPIONSHIP AGAINST RICKY THE DRAGON STEAMBOAT! Ricky Steamboat: I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have eagles in my stomach thinking about this chance to face Ric Flair in the great wrestling town of Houston. That NWA World Title is the most prestigious title in this sport. Ric Flair… you wrestling 7 nights a week, 365 days a year. You are a fighting champion. Now I don’t respect who you are as a person… but as an athlete you are one of the best in the world… but I am going to show you that I am better. I have never had the chance to win the title in such an event and I am going do it… it is my destiny! Ric Flair: You wanna talk about character Ricky Steamboat? Huh? You are looking at a $600 suit… $15,000 Rolex watch… $300 alligator shoes… and right here… $25,000 of pure gold… right here around my waist. You wanna talk about my character… ha… you are looking at the highest paid athlete in this sport. You are looking at the biggest box office attraction in the sport pal! I go 7 nights a week! I go 365 days a year! Ricky Steamboat… you call yourself the dragon, but I am going to have you breathing fire pal. I am the world champion for a reason and you’re going to find out why! DON’T FORGET TO TUNE IN FANS RIGHT HERE ON FOX HOUSTON FOR COVERAGE OF THIS HUGE EVENT!
  8. {Power Pro Wrestling opens showcasing the top talent in Mid South as we cut to the studio and see Vince McMahon standing by.} Vince McMahon: Welcome everyone to Power Pro Wrestling. I am Vince McMahon and we’ve got a great night of action lined up for you fans. We are just days away from the big showdown in Oklahoma City in which 20 of the top wrestlers in Mid South will step into the ring and fight for the chance to face Mr. Wrestling II in Houston this Friday night! Also on the card, we will see a tag team encounter between Alexis Smirnoff and Chris Markoff taking on the impressive tag team of Mike Rotundo and Steve Williams. These two are All-American athletes and they have the college credentials to prove it. They will no doubt be a team who could challenge the Mid South Tag Team Champions, the Fantastics down the line. Fulton and Rogers are in action tonight and they will be this week on MSW… let’s see them in action. The Fantastics defeated Los Conquistadors -A fun way to kick off the broadcast with the Fantastics really looking good here tonight. Ross and McMahon put over their recent issues with the Guerreros. They talk about how the Fantastics are looking at Gino Hernandez and Tully Blanchard and would like to show them a thing about respect. Here tonight, we see the Rocket Launcher for the 1…2…3 and the Fantastics look good tonight and continue their momentum as Mid South Tag Team Champions. *COMMERCIAL* Ivan Putski defeated Brady Boone -Polish Power looks bigger than ever and Ross and McMahon put him over with his allegiance to Don Muraco. They talk about them trying to get into the big $200,000 tag team tournament in Houston. Putski with the huge double axe handle smash and then the bear hug and Boone has no choice but to tap out. What does the future hold for Polish Power? -Power Pro is back and McMahon is putting over Ivan Putski in a big way. He talks about his strength and how it may be second to none. He turns his attention to the Executioner who is returning to Mid South after some injuries sustained by Andre the Giant during their contest in the Superdome last month. He says that Executioner has bulked up and he has put his attention on Ivan Putski… let’s see him in action. The Executioner defeated Omar Atlas -The Executioner is back and he looks to big just a little big bigger and a whole lot badder. He handles Omar pretty easily and hammers down on him with some dangerous blows. We see the Executioner hoist up Atlas and unlike Putski, he shakes Omar violently and he is motionless. He looks strong here and a showdown with Putski is likely to happen sooner than later. *COMMERCIAL* Rick Rude w/ Jimmy Hart defeated Jose Lothario -Rick Rude has really come into his own over the past couple of weeks. Jimmy Hart jumps on commentary to put him through the roof. Here tonight, he handles Jose Lothario pretty easily. Rude is really polishing his in ring skills as he works the neck and the back before hitting the big Rude Awakening for the 1…2…3! Hart says that Rick Rude is eyeing that television championship and if you were a betting man, he is the one to put your money on BABY! -McMahon really puts Rude over in a big way. He talks about Jimmy Hart’s influence and how far Rude has come in the past couple of months. He puts him over as a big contender for the Television Championship but wonders if Magnum TA or Wahoo McDaniel will let that happen. He then turns his attention to Lord Humungous and says his reign of terror has only begun here in Mid South. He puts over his presence in the battle royal this week on television and wonders if he can be defeated. He is in action tonight as we head to the ring. Lord Humungous w/ Tully Blanchard defeated Jose Louis Rivera -If the carnage wasn’t enough from this past week’s MSW, tonight it is even worse. Humungous is in the ring for about 90-seconds and in that time he looks to possibly break Rivera’s neck. The choke hold and then the spinebuster ends things for Mr. Rivera and the 1…2..3 is all she wrote. Tully raises his arm as Humungous stares him down. What is to make of this relationship? *COMMERCIAL* -Power Pro is back and Vince is putting over all the action we’ve seen. He highlights the big battle royal this week on Mid South television saying that the future of one man could be changed forever. He says that in our main event, two men will fight tonight but one of them could change their life forever this week on MSW. SD Jones vs Gino Hernandez -A nice main event with Gino and SD doing some decent work. Ross and McMahon put over Hernandez as a favorite in the bit TV title Battle Royal. We get a decent 8-minute match with Jones getting in some small offense but it is Hernandez who is the star. He is able to hit a slick double arm DDT. He steps up to the middle rope and a falling backwards elbow drop for the 1…2…3! Gino makes the sign for the title and it may just be days away before he gets his hands on the gold!
  9. Well the big thing with Stampede... you've got all the Harts... even Owen... and the Bulldogs... and some other great names not to mention all the Samoans... so the Samoans vs Harts would be a helluva feud... No real rhyme or reason to take those pieces out of that puzzle in my book. 60 day mark will be coming up around april... so we'll wait it out until then and see what goes down.
  10. Pwsony hasn't been logged in in over a month, so we may have to begin some discussions on what we want to do with Stampede. Perfectly Straightedge is someone I have worked with in the past who has joined the board and is interested in writing. All in all, we have to try and figure out what we want to do for the future with it.
  11. -Seedings and pairings for the big Paul Boesch $200,000 invitational tournament have been released. In some late breaking news, Bill Watts was trying to close a deal to get the Von Erichs and Dusty Rhodes on the show, but ended up with no call backs from Florida. It is believe that Graham has plans for his men outside of those dates and with the death of David Von Erich still looming, there are other priorities for the Florida based promotion. -Expect to see some changes in the pairings even as they were just released. Watts tried to get all the promoters to act as he is with teams losing their seeds if they lose their titles or lose to someone in a lower seed. Boesch says it is an asinine idea but will adhere to it with the Mid South teams... which only one of them was seeded. -Adrian Adonis and Dick Murdoch are finishing up a tour of Japan on the 22nd of March and should be on light duty when the tournament rolls around. They are expected to be a sleeper pick to go far. -Bill Watts is doing everything in his power to get Bruiser Brody out of the tournament, even threatening to pull out of Houston all together and leave Boesch to find another promotion to run there. While that wouldn't be a problem for Mr. Boesch, he may have to make a decision on Brody sooner than later as he is in high demand and would want to be paid accordingly. Additionally, with that story, Stan Hansen would be left in the dark and needing someone to partner with. Some said he would pull someone from Japan since they would be off tour or he could even no show the tournament the day of leaving Boesch and Watts in a bad way, but that wouldn't be smart business for Hansen, who is used quite regularly by both men and makes quite a bit of money when he is around. - In other news, Vince McMahon Jr was off the road this week as he was up in New York visiting with Gorilla Monsoon and his father Vince Sr. Vince Sr. has expressed some interest in reopening the WWF and Gorilla was excited about the opportunity but Vince Jr says he is locked in with Mid South and balked the talks. - Ted Dibiase's return to Mid South on the 21st is expected to garner a big rating and should open the show. Watts is hoping that Dibiase will be 100% on return and that the match against Blanchard will be one of the highlights for Mid South Wrestling in 1984.
  12. Might as well go with Mascaras on the 6th and 7th if that works too. It is Houston and he'll find his way on the card.
  13. Paul Boesch: I want to thank everyone for joining me here today for this big announcement. I want to thank all those promotions that are participating in this huge 2-day grand prix tag team tournament event for $200,000! We are hoping to make this a weekend long event with a very special night starting on Friday April the 6th The doors will open at 3:30 with the first match starting at 5:30pm. In that time before the event, we will have a special photograph and autograph session with Houston favorites, the Junkyard Dog and Ricky the Dragon Steamboat! They will be here to sign autographs and take pictures with the fans as we head into the tournament. Now I know everyone has been waiting and I am going to release the seeding for the tournament. This was part of a discussion with the promoters involved and the various accolades of the wrestlers as a team. Without further ado, let me give you the top 8 seeds. 1st Seed – NWA World Tag Team Champions – Chavo & Mando Guerrero 2nd Seed – Big Time Tag Team Champions – Bob Orton & Dick Slater 3rd Seed – USWA National Tag Team Champions – The Sheephearders 4th Seed – NWA United States Tag Team Champions – The Moondogs 5th Seed – Mid South Tag Team Champions – The Fantastics 6th Seed – The Midnight Express 7th Seed – The Fabulous Freebirds (Michael Hayes & Terry Gordy) 8th Seed – Adrian Adonis & Dick Murdoch Paul Boesch: Again, these teams were seeded on various different categories and I believe that some of the pairings from the random draw we are about to have will prove to create some entertaining matches for the first two rounds. As a reminder, first round matches will have a 15-minute time limit, second round will have a 20-minute, third round will have a 30-minute, semi-finals will have a 60-minute, and in the finals, there must be a winner with no time limit. We will enforce count outs and disqualifications. Teams can advance via pinfall, submission, count out, or disqualification. If there is a double count out, double disqualification, or a time limit draw, neither team moves forward and the subsequent team in front of them will receive a bye. We have 16-matches scheduled for the first night which is why we are opening the start time at 5:30 and we will go till all matches are complete. {We have a gentleman then bring out a bingo style tumbler} Paul Boesch: Inside this tumbler, we have the names of all 16 teams who did not get seeded. I am going to randomly draw them out for their first round pairings. We will fill in the bracket behind me as we go forward and show you the final pairings upon completion. We will start from top to bottom. The matches will go as follows… Rick Rude & King Kong Bundy vs Barry & Kendall Windham Tully Blanchard & Gino Hernandez vs The Zumbie Express Ivan Putski & Don Muraco vs Tiger Chung Lee & Pro. Tanaka Sam Houston & Terry Taylor vs Lord Humungous & The Executioner Andre the Giant & Tony Atlas vs The Grapplers Bruiser Brody & Stan Hansen vs Mark & Jay Youngblood Krusher Kruschev & Alexis Smirnoff vs Steve Williams & Mike Rotundo Magnum TA & Wahoo McDaniel vs Killer Khan & Abdullah the Butcher Paul Boesch: Some really fun pairings there, I am interested to see who will be moving on. I do want to reiterate that these pairings can change due to injury and other circumstances. I know Bill Watts from Mid South said that if the Fantastics lose the Mid South Tag Titles, they would lose their seed to whomever beat them, and if that team wasn’t in the tournament, they would be removed. We will see just who has what it takes to survive through this huge two-day tournament. Let’s take a look at the bracket and how these teams fall with the seedings. Rick Rude & King Kong Bundy vs Barry & Kendall Windham Winner will face (1) Mando & Chavo Guerrero Tully Blanchard & Gino Hernandez vs The Zumbie Express Winner will face (8) Adrian Adonis & Dick Murdoch Ivan Putski & Don Muraco vs Tiger Chung Lee & Pro. Tanaka Winner will face (4) Moondogs Sam Houston & Terry Taylor vs Lord Humungous & The Executioner Winner will face (5) The Fantastics Andre the Giant & Tony Atlas vs The Grapplers Winner will face (2) Bob Orton & Dick Slater Bruiser Brody & Stan Hansen vs Mark & Jay Youngblood Winner will face (7) The Fabulous Freebirds (Hayes & Gordy) Krusher Kruschev & Alexis Smirnoff vs Steve Williams & Mike Rotundo Winner will face (3) Sheephearders Magnum TA & Wahoo McDaniel vs Killer Khan & Abdullah the Butcher Winner will face (6) Midnight Express Paul Boesch: There is the bracket folks. Continue to tune in as we will have special messages from the participants, up to date news, and the official contract signing of Ric Flair & Ricky Steamboat right here.

  18. Mid South Wrestling is coming to you on its Fox Affiliates throughout Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. Action is coming to you tonight from the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas. Jim Ross – Welcome everyone to Mid South Wrestling! I am Jim Ross and fans we have got a great night of action ahead of us. On the card tonight, we will reveal the 20-men who will be in the big battle royal right here next week on MSW. Plus we will see a big one on one match between Don Muraco and Scott Casey. Casey has really been on a tear as of late and with Muraco dumping Paul Jones, he has been a man on his own and fighting with a purpose! Also tonight, we will see the demonic Lord Humungous in action and it is going to be the pre-party to a celebration by Tully Blanchard and Gino Hernandez who have said they have something big planned. Plus tonight, we will have a huge six-man main event when the All-Americans and the Russians do battle. Fans this is Mid South Wrestling and it is time to head to the ring! Magnum TA & Wahoo McDaniel vs Dominic DeNucci & Omar Atlas - Mr. Wrestling II comes down with Wahoo and Magnum and joins commentary. He puts over his recent training and the big 20-man battle royal next week. He and Ross talk about how a no namer, a man who never would get a shot could walk away with the chance of a lifetime. Wrestling II is kind of heelish but nothing major as he puts over Magnum and Wahoo in a big way. We see Wahoo with a big overhand chop on Omar setting him up for a huge belly-to-belly suplex by Magnum for the 1…2…3! They work the crowd as Wrestling II joins them. Next week these guys will be in the ring together with the chance of a lifetime! *COMMERCIAL* -MSW returns with Jimmy Hart out with Rick Rude and King Kong Bundy. Hart is really putting his guys over and he says there is no way in the world we will see Magnum TA or Wahoo McDaniel survive next week. He says he will have something special in store for them just to show them where they rank in the scheme of things! Ross asks Hart if he is going to sign Scott Casey to a contract and he balks. He wants to see how he does here tonight! Ross sends it to the ring for our next big contest! Don Muraco vs Scott Casey -Hart stays on commentary with Ross as they put the match over in a big way. We see Rude and Bundy get involved. They are tripping up Muraco every chance they get as he is taken out of the mental game here. The crowd then pops when we see Ivan Putski come out to help him! The crowd is going full boar for Polish Power here as this one nears the 9-minute mark. We see both men get some offense and just as Muraco looks to finish, we see Rude jump up on the apron and distract him leading to Casey nailing him with a huge double axe handle and then rolling him up with a hand full of tights for the 1….2…3!! Rude and Bundy then charge in the ring and we’ve got a 3 on 2 beatdown but here comes Putski to help fight them off. We get the officials to come down and break it up but Casey leaves with Hart’s First Family as they work the crowd. *COMMERCIAL* -MSW returns with footage from Power Pro this past weekend and Tully Blanchard defeated Terry Gordy to earn the shot at Ted Dibiase in 2 weeks. He puts over the big 8-man tournament and the arrival of Lord Humungous and how he affected the tournament. He puts over the big six-man Badstreet match from Houston last week and the beating he put down on the Freebirds. We then see Humungous come down to the ring and he looks bigger and meaner than before! ThunderBolt Patterson vs Lord Humungous -This one isn’t pretty. Humungous just DESTROYS ThunderBolt in the middle of the ring. He does a neck ringer move that cripples him, as he is motionless in the ring. Humungous picks him up and then hits a spinebuster that shakes the ring! It is a 1…2…3 as the crowd is in shock! -The crowd then hears Sharp Dressed Man hit the PA and out walks Gino Hernandez and Tully Blanchard. They are dressed in tuxedos and they are passing out balloons to the fans who are letting them loose. They are booing up a storm as we see medics come out and carry off ThunderBolt Patterson. He seems to be in serious condition as Ross puts his injuries over. We see Blanchard and Gino in the ring as they grab microphones… Gino: Ladies and gentlemen… I am here to announce that this is the man who in two weeks will walk into Shreveport, Louisiana, on Mid South Wrestling and he is going to TAKE the North American title from that good for nothing paper champion… Ted Dibiase! Tully: Ladies and gentlemen… I am here to announce that this is the man who next week will talk into Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on Mid South Wrestling and he is going to take down the top 19-wrestlers in Mid South and then walk into his home of Houston, Texas and put that good for nothing paper champion Mr. Wrestling II out to pasture. Gino: And let us both introduce the man, who single handedly destroyed the Freebirds… he is the man of the hour, the man with the power… the ayatollah of Rock N Rolla… he is LORD HUMUNGOUS! Tully: Right here ladies and gentlemen is the triangle of terror in the sport of professional wrestling. We’ve got the size… we’ve got the speed… and we’ve got the strength! Gino: In just a matter of weeks… we are going to have ALL THE GOLD! -Gino and Tully continue to work the fans and boy they have got some heat. The fans are really throwing it at them here as they work the crowd and leave the arena. *COMMERCIAL* -MSW returns with Ross putting over the last segment and the triangle of terror as they call themselves. He wonders just how long Gino and Tully will keep their grasp on Humungous and the extent of his power. The fans then begin to stir as we hear the Russians make their way down to the ring. They jump in and start to sing the Russian National Anthem before we hear Hacksaw Duggan lead his men to the ring. They step inside and we are about to see the war to settle the score right here! All-Americans (Duggan, Rotundo, & Williams) vs Russians (Kruschev, Markoff, & Smirnoff) -This one gets about 15-minutes of television time remaining. These guys work the fans from the word go with the Russians really getting some great heat. Krusher Kruschev has come into his own in a big way. Rotundo is the star of this segment as he is without a doubt the best “wrestler” in the match but Duggan is the true star. He works the fans from beginning to end and when all is said and done it is Duggan who sets up the big finish. We see Rotundo and Kruschev fighting outside the ring. Williams with a huge bodyslam on Smirnoff while Duggan lines up and nails a huge leaping clothesline putting Markoff down and out for the 1….2….3!! Duggan, Williams, and Rotundo then get on the microphone and lead the Pledge of Allegiance one more time. The camera then catches the entrance way as we see Kruschev talking to someone… what in the world… THAT’S IVAN KOLOFF! FANS MORE ON THESE DEVELOPMENTS ON POWER PRO THIS WEEK!
  19. http://lowblowbookingpodcast.podbean.com/e/low-blow-booking-podcast-ep-24-tournament-edition/ Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the Low Blow Booking Podcast! Join Derek Cornett, Dave Hall, and Patrick Fenton as they take on a very special tournament edition of the Low Blow Booking Podcast. The three put together 4 tournaments, only using matches that happened in real life, and using the individuals who won to move the tournament forward. Let's run down the rules... TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT - This was a 16 team tournament in which every tag team match happened in real life and the next round match had to have happened. INTERCONTINENTAL, WCW, AND WWE CHAMPIONSHIP - For these three tournaments, the matches had to have been for the title and the next round matches had to have happened and been title matches. This is without a doubt one of the most creative and innovate ideas that the Low Blow Booking Podcast has put together. Let us know what you think as you sit back and enjoy the Low Blow Booking Podcast; Tournament Edition!
  20. {Power Pro Wrestling opens showcasing the top talent in Mid South as we cut to the studio and see Vince McMahon standing by.} Vince McMahon: Welcome everyone to Power Pro Wrestling, I am Vince McMahon and it is great to be coming to you fans tonight with all the best from Mid South Wrestling. Fans we want to announce the final ruling from this past week’s MSW and the big World Tag Team Championship 2/3 falls match… -We see the big finish from the match with the Fantastics winning the 3rd fall via DQ. Vince McMahon: The official ruling was that the Fantastics won the third and deciding fall, but since it was via DQ, the titles did not change hands. We can only hope to see a rematch down the line, perhaps when both teams are in Houston for the big $200,000 tag team tournament. Tonight we will also see the finals of the North American Championship tournament with the winner going on to face Ted Dibiase in a mere number of weeks on MSW. That contest will feature Terry Gordy taking on Tully Blanchard and what a war these two men had just two nights ago in Houston, Texas. A six-man Badstreet contest where anything goes and anything went. It was Tully Blanchard’s henchman, Lord Humungous that made the biggest impact. We have the big man in action here tonight, fans this guy is an absolute monster… let’s see him in the ring. Lord Humungous defeated Tracy Smothers -Gino Hernandez is out with Humungous and he’s just an absolute BEAST! Ross and McMahon put him over as the most dangerous man in professional wrestling. He nails Smothers with a spinebuster that shakes the ring and puts him down for the 1…2…3! Gino is the perfect partner who gloats the whole time. Who can touch this guy? *COMMERCIAL* Don Muraco defeated Dominic DeNucci -Muraco is really coming into his own against a familiar foe here tonight. Ross and McMahon say he is one of the guys who will be entering that big 20-man battle royal to earn a shot at Wrestling II, but first this week he will have to face Scott Casey on MSW. They put over that contest as we see Muraco finish DeNucci with a tombstone and the 1…2..3! -Power Pro returns with Vince McMahon putting over the 20-man battle royal for the Mid South Television Championship shot. We then cut to footage of the debut of Mike Rotundo and his teaming up with Duggan and Williams. We get to see them in the ring tonight for the first time… we cut to the ring. Mike Rotundo & Steve Williams defeated The Shadows -Rotundo and Williams come out to a great pop from the crowd. They have got little American Flags and their letter coats which pop the young fans. Inside the ring, they put it all together with some great tag team work. We see fluid tags and teamwork that leads to Williams tossing White Shadow into the turnbuckle and then a big splash with Rotundo coming out of the ropes and nailing him with a flying forearm for the 1….2…3!! They work the fans as Ross and McMahon really put them through the roof. *COMMERCIAL* -We return with McMahon showing some of the highlights of the semi-finals from this past week on MSW. We see all the chaos of the two matches, the debut of Humungous, and then the final pairing of Gordy and Blanchard. He says this is the premiere match between two of the top contenders. The winner goes on to face Ted Dibiase on the 21st of March… who will it be? FINALS Terry Gordy vs Tully Blanchard -Tully looks to be in decent condition coming out here tonight but Gordy has got taped ribs. Ross and McMahon put this over in the biggest way. They talk about how both men match up with Dibiase and what a great contest that will be. This one goes about 14-minutes. Tully works the ribs and the back as Gordy is doing everything he can to stay in the fight. We get a moment in which Gino and Humungous walk out but here comes Hayes and Roberts and they fight to the back. It is going to be a one on one sprint here in the final moments. 21. 3/3/1984 - Mid South Wrestling Live – Baton Rouge, Louisiana – River City Arena Scott Hall defeated Johnny Rodz Brian Blair & Jim Brunzell defeated The Shadows Mike Rotundo & Steve Williams defeated Chris Markoff & Alexis Smirnoff Magnum TA defeated Scott Casey The Executioner defeated Don Muraco Lord Humungous defeated Ivan Putski MID SOUTH TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP The Fantastics © defeated King Kong Bundy & Rick Rude w/ Jimmy Hart via DQ Hacksaw Jim Duggan defeated Gino Hernandez MAIN EVENT Tully Blanchard defeated Wahoo McDaniel
  22. -A very interesting week out of Mid South as the doors were closed for a one on one verbal clash between Bill Watts and Vince McMahon. It appears as though both men have different ideas on the Junkyard Dog and the handling of his contract in the future. Watts wanted to bring him back sooner than later with the injuries to Ted Dibiase, but McMahon is hoping to create new fresh faces out of Magnum TA, Wahoo McDaniel, and the Fantastics. The Freebirds came in for a cup of coffee and helped matters along with the Guerreros but it appears as though there are no future bookings for either of those groups in the month of March in which the tour has been labeled the March for the Gold. The big matches they are leading to are the big television title match in which we will see the return of Mr. Wrestling II on March 16th in Houston and then the return of Ted Dibiase and the defense of the North American Championship on March the 21st in Shreveport. - There has been quite a bit of dissension over the production of Power Pro and Bill Watts was moments away from pulling the plug all together. It is McMahon and Jim Ross who have been on the side of keeping the production on Wednesday nights and taping it after MSW. Joel and Bill Watts don't like how the same fans are shown on MSW and on Power Pro. We could see a change in the coming weeks if the show even survives through the month of March. -The Fantastics vs Guerreros was a great draw for Mid South over the past month and there was a great group of time limit draw matches and then the instant classic from the Feb. 29th episode of MSW. There was even talks of a title switch for a quick swap over the month but NWA officials couldn't be persuaded by Watts. The Fantastics are still high on the NWA's top ten tag teams and a powerful showing at the big $200,000 tournament could put them in place for a title reign. -The Executioner will be returning to Mid South over the next couple of weeks on television. McMahon would like to utilize him in a different manner but Watts doesn't see that being a draw and wants to keep him as is. -Lord Humongous debuted to a huge rating on MSW this week. He is coming in with a lot of hype after his debut and his alignment with Tully Blanchard and Gino Hernandez is said to be the key to his success and foreseeable future in Mid South.
  23. Couple of fun house shows here on the loop. I like the 8-man 2/3 falls matches. I also like how I brought the Birds in as faces and you've used them as heels. It adds the territorial feel to how we're doing things.
  24. I haven't had a chance to full chime in on USWA publicly but I have to say that you have done a very good job thus far. Your talent roster is just incredible and you've done a good job putting some people in top spots to show their legitimacy. Your two shows here have got showcases from some of the top talent and you even bring in guys who add to the show. I have to make my picks and I think Reed is the man of the hour here but Tony Atlas has got the future of this company on his back. With these guys, then you've got Piper and Lawler all fighting to get the top spot from Austin Idol... it is going to be a crazy go and then you throw in Buzz Sawyer and you can guarantee all bets are off. I just hope you don't get bogged down and can continue what you've started and be one of if not the premiere organization in 1984.
