Memphis: CWA WRESTLING
Memphis continues to move forward here this week with another exciting edition of the show. I said it a couple of weeks ago, the formatting needed some work and you put forth a great effort since then. Now it is not my particular cup of tea, but I am not big on numbering the segments, but to each their own. I know it can help with organization and such. Overall though, I'd say your finding some clarity with your show and the usage of your top guys and finding spots. I am fearful of Lawler's future with so many around him, but he is the King and time will tell.

Southeastern Championship Wrestling - Event Centre 1984
Continued consistency from Southeastern. You have, since day one, built up your guys with an influx here and there. Namely, the Fabs who look to be getting into their element here. On paper the show may not match up with the star power of others in people's eyes, but your home grown stars are a force to be reckoned with.
-
Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling Events
I talked with you earlier about the shows. You've got a a very strong formula building here from your start. We discussed your house shows being superb with your television needing some work, and while it may be minor, nothing wrong with making your money on the circuit building up to those televisions and your big show in a month.
-
Big Time Wrestling
BIG TIME! I know your on a little break and no harm there. Nothing wrong with taking a small break to recharge the batteries due to life's circumstances... could be worked into the overall story of your promotion with Detroit running on its own. Looking forward to the comeback... even though you were never really gone.
-
Championship Wrestling from Florida
I know that today is the ominous day in our world and you're a little behind. You put a TON of effort into your stuff and it shows in the shows, I am interested to see how DVE plays out in Florida and what happens.

American Wrestling Association results
Good to see the Hulkster regain the gold... surprised Hansen didn't misplace the title along the way. A lot of star power here in the AWA and you are using it the right way.
-
WWA results 1984
Solid stuff from WWA. I said it earlier, but Chris Adams has got star power written all over him. You've got that big card on the 18th and it looks to be pretty big with the series of match. Keep doing work man.

Mid South Wrestling on Tour Feb. 1984
Mid South Wrestling is coming to you on its Fox Affiliates throughout Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. Action is coming to you tonight from the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas. Jim Ross: Welcome everyone to Mid South Wrestling! I am Jim Ross and fans, we have got a huge night of action coming up. We are just days removed from the Battle of New Orleans in the Superdome. A night in which we saw Ted Dibiase defeated the Junkyard Dog in one of the hardest fought, bloodiest, and most emotional battles I have ever seen. It was blood, sweat, and tears for close to 30-minutes and Ted Dibiase did stand tall at the end but he was stretchered out. He will be here to address the fans tonight. The Junkard Dog left Mid South a beaten man in the ring but a champion in the eyes of the people. I don’t know when we will see him back here in Mid South… he is gone for a year so that is the timeline. Regadless of who is gone, fans coming in tonight we have got the NWA World Tag Team Champions, the Guerreros and the former champions, The Fabulous Freebirds in the building tonight. Plus tonight, we will see a big contest with Don Muraco and Masked Superstar. If Muraco wins, he gets a match with Paul Jones… that is our main event tonight, right now let’s head to the ring for our opening contest! Dominic DeNucci vs Rick Rude w/ Jimmy Hart -A nice little opening contest with Rick Rude getting some great heat from the crowd. He has got the boa from Superstar Graham around his neck and he’s working the crowd. Jim Ross puts over how Graham has been under medical care since the match. Tonight, Rude looks amazing and works over Dominic something awful before hitting the Rude Awakening for the 1…2…3! Rude works the crowd as we see Jim Ross talking with Mr. Wrestling II… -Wrestling II and Ross put over the television championship. Wrestling II has got a knee brace on right now and says that his knee is not in good shape and may need to get scope surgery that would put him out for a while. We see Rick Rude and Jimmy Hart walk over. Rude says that the television championship would be his if Wrestling II had the stones to step into the ring. He says he is going to take that title from him right now or down the line, it only matters if he will sign on the dotted line. The crowd then pops when Magnum TA comes out. He tells Rude to shove off. He says that he has got Wrestling II’s back and if he needs someone to defend the title for him while he’s out, he’d be more than happy to do it! Rude and Jimmy back off as this one is brewing. *COMMERCIAL* -MSW returns with Jim Ross putting over the issue with Magnum TA and Rude and then talks about how Bill Watts helped Magnum out the other night in the Superdome. We see some stills from the match and Ross says that Watts was in very serious condition following the contest. Ross says that he is unsure when Watts will be able to return to Mid South but we will keep the fans updated. He then welcomes out our next contest and the debut of the World Tag Team Champions… The Guerreros! Los Conquistadors vs The Guerreros -We see Hector, Mando, and Chavo all walk out as the crowd isn’t quite sure what to do with them. They work some heat and then get engaged into a fun little contest with Los Conqustadors. They go about 6-minutes and we get to see the great selling of the Conquistadors and the heat magnets that the Guerreros are. It is Chavo and Mando in the ring with Hector working the outside. We a Gordy Special from Chavo for the tap out on Conquistador #2. The Guerreros grab the belts and work the crowd before initiating a 3 on 2 beat down. The crowd then pops when Jose Lothario runs out to the ring and attempts to fight the three of them off. The Guerreros retreat only to show him the gold and work the fans. Jose looks ready for a fight and they may just be bringing him one! *COMMERCIAL* -MSW returns with Jim Ross working the crowd about the Guerreros and how they have signed on to face Jose Lothario and two mystery partners this Friday night in San Antonio. We then hear a roar as out walks Michael Hayes, Buddy Roberts, and Terry Bam Bam Gordy as the Fabulous Freebirds are here! They join Ross and put themselves through the roof and talk about their history with JYD. They say he is the toughest of the tough when it comes to competitors in the middle of that ring. Then Michael Hayes goes off…. Michael Hayes: I wanna take a second and talk about Bill Watts! He isn’t always the most fun man to work for but we respect him! When we heard about what happened in the Superdome… it turned my stomach. When you got a low down like Bruiser Brody, who was too afraid to show up… then Bill Watts steps in the ring and fights the good fight, you gotta respect a man for that…but I don’t respect Gino Hernandez and Tully Blanchard. I don’t respect what they stand for or what they’ve done. When it comes to playing dirty, the Freebirds are the dirty birds from Badstreet in Atlanta GA daddy and Tully Blanchard and Gino Hernandez are going to find out the hard way that the Freebirds play by their own rules and if they wanna do the dance, just sign the dotted line! -Ross continues to put over the Freebirds as we cut to the ring for more action… Wahoo McDaniel vs Omar Atlas -Wahoo comes out looking good here tonight. He makes pretty quick work of Atlas and looks to have an extra flare in his step. We see the big overhand chop for the 1…2…3!! Wahoo then jumps over and gets on the microphone and talks with Jim Ross…. -Ross and Wahoo put over the big fight from the Superdome with King Kong Bundy… he says Bundy put him down for 3 but there’s no way he could ever put him down for 5! He challenges Bundy to come at him again and see if he could try it one more time. Wahoo says he is coming to San Antonio is and he’s coming to get a piece of the big man! *COMMERCIAL* -MSW returns with Jim Ross putting over the Ted Dibiase situation. He then brings him out and Dibiase looks to be in rough shape. He has got a heavy bandage on his head and is walking pretty gingerly. He and Ross talk about the match. Dibiase says that he has some disks loose in his back and may require surgery. He says he had to get 15 stitches in his head. He said this was the toughest match of his entire life and he respects the JYD for the fight but knows that he won’t bring him back no matter what! This gets some boos from the fans but he explains that he wouldn’t want to face him again and he’s going to do whatever it takes. We then get a stir from the crowd as Gino Hernandez and Tully Blanchard walk out to the booth. Tully and Gino talk about Dibiase finding a reason to leave so he wouldn’t have to defend that title against either of them. Dibiase brushes them off but Gino and Tully aren’t done. They talk about what they did with Bill Watts and they tell Dibiase he doesn’t want to end up the same way. Dibiase gets right in their faces and then Gino Hernandez with the cheapest shot right to the eye of Dibiase! Tully and Gino then rip off the heavy bandage and they tear into those stitches! Dibiase is busted wide open and the crowd is gasping from the blood. Tully then sets him up and Gino jumps off the apron for a SPIKE PILEDRIVER ON THE CONCRETE FLOOR! MY GOD! Officials and agents run out and even fans are trying to get involved! We have a security issue here, as Dibiase is motionless! *COMMERCIAL* -MSW returns with Jim Ross quiet on the microphone. We see Ted Dibiase being carted off on a stretcher. We see officials and agents taking him back while Ross says that we’ve seen a travesty here tonight. Ross then tries to focus his attention on the issue with Don Muraco and Masked Superstar. He talks about Superstar turning his back on Muraco this past weekend and Jones leaving him in the ring. Ross says if Muraco wins, he will get Jones in the middle of that ring next week! Don Muraco vs Masked Superstar w/ Paul Jones -A fun main event but limited television time is remaining. Ross puts over this contest and wonders if the fans will take to Muraco. Masked Superstar looks good here tonight as he is one of the most powerful me in the world of wrestling. He is able to hammer down on Muraco who gets a small pop from the crowd. The fans just aren’t buying into him yet, but he is slowly starts to build some steam. We see some big power moves from both men but Muraco is getting the edge! The crowd is starting to get into it when Muraco NAILS Jones off the apron! Jim Ross puts over how business is picking up but we are out of time. We will see the conclusion of this match on Power Pro this weekend!

I think it would be your choice. Florida did some of that shit when Mike took over for his dad and played some blame and bullshit with the Freebirds. It was very touchy and may have ended up being the thing that killed their business... same goes for the Fritz heart attacks... it is a touch and go thing but something that isn't foreign to wrestling. http://pwchronicle.blogspot.com/2005/12/history-most-tasteless-angle-ever.html

Buck Zhumoff could be added to the scum bag list. Personally, Benoit was and is still one of my favorite wrestlers and I love Woman so if I get a chance at both of them, I'd be careful but I don't see the wrong with them in our world's timeframe. In regards to david, I told you how I felt, it would be interesting booking to say the least.

I don't think we have too much competitiveness in free agency. It can be a come and go thing to move around what you'd like as much or as little. You just have to stay within the cap.

Mid South Wrestling on Tour Feb. 1984
Power Pro Wrestling Sunday February 5th {Power Pro Wrestling opens showcasing the top talent in Mid South as we cut to the studio and see Vince McMahon standing by.} Vince: Welcome ladies and gentlemen to Power Pro Wrestling! I am Vince McMahon and fans what a night it was last night in the Superdome in New Orleans. We saw somewhere near 20,000 fans pack the Superdome to see what many proclaimed to be the greatest professional wrestling event of all times. We have video footage of the contests and we will be able to show you here this evening. Last night there were matches held that could have been Main Events anywhere in the country and they blew the roof off the Superdome. One of those contests was a tag team match between Bruiser Brody & Magnum TA taking on Tully Blanchard & Gino Hernandez. When Bruiser Brody didn’t show up, fans you will never guess who stepped in to take his place. *ALL MATCHES ARE CLIPPED VERSIONS… POOR QUALITY OF COURSE* Bill Watts & Magnum TA vs Tully Blanchard & Gino Hernandez -Bill Watts is putting his money where his mouth is here tonight. Gino and Tully are almost laughing until Watts just CRACKS Blanchard right in the mouth as Magnum and Gino are going tooth and nail on the other side. This one is only 11-minutes. We don’t expect a lot from Watts but when he comes in for the hot tag, he is spectacular. The crowd loves seeing him in the ring and he brings the real pain here and Blanchard and Gino sell for him just enough to show he’s still go it. The unsung hero of this contest is Magnum TA who does his best to carry the match but the double teaming is more than he can handle. In the end we see Hernandez and Blanchard just beat Magnum into the ground until he makes the big tag to Watts who pounds away at both men. The big moment happens when Gino Hernandez pulls something out of his tights and he just NAILS Watts and busts him wide open! He is bleeding like a stuck pig in the middle of the ring. We see a SPIKE PILEDRIVER for the 1…2…3 on Watts! Gino and Tully aren’t done yet as they go to work and continue to beat the bloody piss out of him. Magnum comes in to help but Gino and Tully hammer down on him with some nasty kicks and stomps. They walk out to a chorus of boos as the crowd is throwing debris at them. They go up the aisle as officials come down and help Watts to the back as he is busted open and in a bad way. McMahon puts over the tag team contest and the team of Magnum and Bill Watts. He really puts over Gino and Tully and says they may be the most destructive team in all of professional wrestling. He finishes by putting over the injury to Bill Watts and wonders how Watts will respond this week on Mid South Wrestling. *COMMERCIAL* ThunderBolt Patterson & S.D. Jones vs Masked Superstar & Don Muraco w/ Paul Jones -We keep up the momentum with this tag team contest. This one goes around 9-minutes and is a story of ThunderBolt and SD working well together and becoming an established team. On the other side of the ring, Masked Superstar and Don Muraco are just not seeing eye to eye. Paul Jones is trying to get things going for his men but absolutely nothing is working. Superstar has enough and he backs away from a tag as ThunderBolt nails Muraco with a spinebuster for the 1…2…3! The crowd pops but then we see Masked Superstar and Jones just go to work on Muraco. They are hammering him down something awful. The crowd is irate here as SD and ThunderBolt make the save. Muraco acts confused but he appears to see what went down. He shakes hands with Patterson and Jones… what could be glooming here for the Magnificent one? McMahon puts over the big tag team contest and wonders what will be next for Patterson and S.D. Jones. He talks about how Masked Superstar and Jones turned their backs on Muraco. We get an inset promo from Muraco who says he is challenging Masked Superstar on MSW this week and he is willing to put everything on the line to get his hands on Paul Jones! *COMMERCIAL* MID SOUTH TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP Mr. Wrestling II © vs Scott Casey -Our first title match of the evening has got a lot of meat and potatoes with it. Wrestling II and Casey have been at one another for the better part of 4-months now. We see some fists of fire as Casey is hell bent on trying to rip the mask off but Wrestling II continues to fight back with the passion of 1,000 fires! He is hammering away and Casey just has nothing left to give. We see a nasty spot when Wrestling II goes for the flying knee but Casey moves and Wrestling II destroys the ring turnbuckle. Casey looks to go to work and just destroy the knee to the point that Wrestling II can barely stand. The crowd is chanting and cheering for him as Wrestling II tries to get back up but simply cant. Casey says is going to finish him off and he goes for the Figure Four Leg Lock but Wrestling II rolls him up and gets the 1…2….3! The crowd explodes! Wrestling II gets out but his knee is a mess. He holds up the title but he’s being walked to the back. Scott Casey is fired up inside the ring. This one is far from over in his eyes but so could Mr. Wrestling II’s career. McMahon talks at length about the television championship and how it is up in the air if Wrestling II will be able to defend the title. He says that Wrestling II will be in Fort Wroth this week for MSW to talk about the TV title and its future. McMahon then turns the tide and puts over how the NWA World Tag Team Champions, the Guerreros will be in Fort Worth this week and word has it they will have something to say to the Fantastics regarding their tag team title victory! *COMMERCIAL* Wahoo McDaniel vs King Kong Bundy w/ Jimmy Hart -After the quick action of the previous match, we slow things down a bit here with our next contest that is a great showcase of two big, bad dudes in Mid South. Bundy has got the ace in the hole with Jimmy Hart who looks amazing out there and he is really working up the crowd. Wahoo gets beaten down early and then builds his way back up the only way he can. We see some big chops as both men are covered in sweat as we near the finish. We see Wahoo nails some big chops and then he is looking to finish but Jimmy Hart grabs his leg in the corner and Wahoo picks him up but here comes Bundy with the AVALANCHE! Jimmy Hart holds him and here comes Bundy with another AVALANCHE! Wahoo crumbles to the ground as Bundy covers him for the 1…..2….3! Bundy screams at the referee to count again and we see the 1….2….3….4….KICK OUT! Bundy pulls up Wahoo but he comes back with some huge chops and Bundy rolls out of the ring. He and Hart walk up the aisle, as there is a lot of confusion around ringside. Wahoo wants more as Bundy and Hart leave the ringside area. McMahon puts over the controversial 5-count victory or non-victory. We get a inset promo from Jimmy Hart putting over how Bundy pinned Wahoo for the 3 count and that’s what gets it done at the pay window but he wanted the 5 count to put him down for good! We return to McMahon who says that the victory will not stand and a return bout will be signed in the near future. He then puts over the Forth Worth MSW this week one more time and says that there were rumors of The Fabulous Freebirds- Michael Hayes, Terry Gordy, and Buddy Roberts returning to Mid South. McMahon wonders if they will be here to gloat about the JYD situation or if they have other plans on their minds, namely the Guerreros and the World Tag Team Titles. *COMMERCIAL* LOSER LEAVES MID SOUTH NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP The Junkyard Dog vs Ted Dibiase © -Boyd Pierce does a masterful job introducing this match and says that both men agreed in the back that this would be no count outs and no disqualifications and there MUST BE A WINNER! Dog and Dibiase come out and you can just feel the tension in the arena. For 22-minutes, these two men beat the living shit out of each other. From pillar to post, JYD and Dibiase go all over the ringside area of the Superdome. JYD gets busted open from his own Dog Chain that Dibiase used and Dibiase gets busted open from the ring post. The crowd oohs and aahs with ever movement. Both men are covered in blood before all is said and done and we see a great spot in which the JYD grabs Dibiase for a Boston Crab and Dibiase’s head stains the mat red. Dog can’t quite hold on as he breaks the hold but the damage has been done to Dibiase’s skull and his back. JYD looks to finish and nails a THUMP! He covers for the 1….2……FOOT ON THE ROPE! PeeWee Anderson was so damn close! JYD pulls him up but Dibiase has got something left in the tank with a huge low blow and then a STIFF right hand that cracks JYD right in the eye. JYD then comes back with a huge right hand and Dibiase and he flies out of the ring. JYD slowly goes out and picks up Dibiase and he nails a THUMP OUTSIDE THE RING ON THE CONCRETE AS THE CROWD SHRIEKS! JYD then picks up Dibiase again and hoists him over his back before Dibiase slides off and pushes him into the ring post and JYD cracks his skull! Dibiase is slow… he picks up JYD and puts him in the ring in what seems like it takes forever. He covers JYD for the 1….2…..KICK OUT! JYD KICKS OUT! It must have taken too long! JYD, covered in blood is slow to get up. Dibiase, covered in blood gets to his feet. He pulls JYD up and hits a couple of right hands but his hands have nothing left in them. JYD however with a huge headbutt in the belly, leaves a blood stain on Dibiase’s stomach picks him up for a THUMP but Dibiase slips off his back and then rolls him up for the 1…2….3!!! DIBIASE HAS WON IT! JYD MUST LEAVE MID SOUTH FOR ONE YEAR! Dibiase is a bloody mess as he is hoisted up by PeeWee Anderson and raises his arm and the title but then collapses in the ring. JYD is in a bad way. Much like Rocky, the medics help both of these men out. Dibiase is on a stretcher and JYD on his own two feet before a standing ovation. What does this mean for the future of Mid South?!? McMahon really pumps up the big issue with Dibiase and the Junkyard Dog. He says he spoke to the JYD after the show and he was in tears for letting down all his fans. He says that there were signs and protests to try and get the JYD back in Mid South but word has it that Dibiase had no comment. Speaking of Dibiase, he spent the night in the hospital with back issues and getting stiches in his head from the hard fought match. McMahon finally puts over the Fort Worth show again, he says that Dibiase will be there live, as will the Freebirds and World Tag Team Champions the Guerreros. He puts over how Wrestling II will be there live and the big main event contest with Don Muraco taking on the Masked Superstar. We will see you in Fort Worth this week!

Dirt Sheets
Notes from The Battle of New Orleans The biggest story coming out of the Battle of New Orleans was Bruiser Brody. He was a legit no show at the event. He worked with Mid South on Friday night in Houston against Stan Hansen in a no contest Texas Death Match. The story is unfolding that Brody was told the finish of the match in the Superdome before his match with Hansen and then subsequently phoned in his effort. Hansen, who has a good relationship with Watts, did business but Brody was non-committal. It is said that Vince McMahon brokered the deal for Brody to come into the Superdome and booked the program with Magnum and Brody taking on Gino and Tully. McMahon is said to be very high on Gino and thought the best way for him to get over again would be to pin Brody. Magnum offered himself as the sacrificial lamb, but McMahon said with his return to Mid South, they want to keep him strong for house shows and the loss on Brody would mean more. There were rumors that Brody and Magnum would go against the grain against Tully and Gino leading up to the event Saturday night, but instead, Brody no showed and Mid South was left without the top star. The call for Watts to come in was very last minute, however this is one way in which Watts may cycle off television and be more in an administrative role. Mid South has been looking around the area for possible color commentators to go along with Jim Ross and have even reached out to Gorilla Monsoon but Watts balked the idea right from the get go. He said he had respect for Monsoon but he doesn't belong in Mid South. Vince McMahon is still looking to possible get him in as a road agent. Danny Hodge is a name that has been floating around to come in as a road agent and possible color guy or even Grizzly Smith who has done some booking for Watts in the past to come in and help with the new workload. Outside of the Bruiser Brody debacle, the Battle of New Orleans was a major success. With around 21,000 people in attendance, the early figures shows close to if not over a $100,000 gate. Watts had his crew taping the event and he may be trying to sell it to Closed Circuit providers. The Junkyard Dog is legitimately gone from Mid South at this point. Watts made and call and gave him the time off, no telling if it will be for the full year or sooner. It would be hard to see Mid South without JYD come Thanksgiving and Christmas. Ted Dibiase was severely banged up following his match with the JYD. He's said to have gotten at least 10 stitches in his head and possible a ruptured disk in his back. This isn't good for Mid South as Television Champion Mr. Wrestling II may need to have his knee scoped following his contest with Scott Casey. Maniac Matt Borne was in Mid South and may be gone already. He said to have had some heat with McMahon or Watts over his return and them not making it a big deal. He could be looking for work already for the right promoter. Adrian Street has not made his debut on television yet and Mid South is looking for the right moment for him or the right price as other promotions have shown interest in Street but will Miss Linda be too much to bring along if he goes?

Mid South Wrestling on Tour Feb. 1984
2/4/1984 - Mid South Wrestling Live - New Orleans, Louisiana -The Superdome Dr. Death Steve Williams vs Krusher Kruschev -USA vs Russian to kick things off here tonight in the Superdome. The crowd is wild as we see Williams and Kruschev come out to the ring to continue their issues with one another. This is a fun little brawl to get things going. These guys go about 8-minutes before Williams is able to counter a big Russian Sickle clothesline into a backslide for the 1…2….3! Williams works the fans as Kruschev is irate inside the ring. He threatens PeeWee Anderson before leaving in a profanity laced fasion. ThunderBolt Patterson & S.D. MID SOUTH TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP Mr. Superstar Billy Graham vs Rick Rude w/ Jimmy Hart -This is one of those master vs protégé contests with Rude just oozing confidence or perhaps arrogance. Graham doesn’t look the greatest he ever did but decent enough for the contest. The problem is, he struggles to work the strong style that Rude is enforcing. This one only goes about five minutes as Graham goes big but Rude goes smart. We see Rude utilize the ring post and do his best to destroy the shoulder of the Superstar before taking it to his neck and then hitting the Rude Awakening. He says it isn’t over though and he picks him up again for another Rude Awakening! The crowd gasps for the 1…2…3 as Rude and Jimmy Hart celebrate. Graham is helped to the back holding his throat… this doesn’t look good for him. MID SOUTH TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP The Fantastics © vs The North South Connection -This is one that everyone has been waiting for. These guys how off some great tag team action as the 60-minute time limit is enforced. These four men put everything together and go 22-minutes. We see Adonis & Murdoch just tear down Bobby Fulton and they are wearing him within an inch of his life. Fulton is able to get the big tag to Rogers who comes in but falls under the same fate. Adonis and Murdoch just outmatch these guys here tonight but the crowd begins to stir. The crowd begins to boil. The fans are just going wild for Fulton and Rogers and they turn it up a notch. We see Fulton come in with some big chops on Adonis who is selling big time for him. Rogers comes with a huge cross body on Murdoch and the Fantastics are rocking and rolling right now. We see some nice double teaming… even a wheel barrow that gets the crowd going. Adonis and Murdoch cut them off one more time but it builds to the big moment when we see Murdoch hold up Rogers for a Brainbuster but here comes Fulton with a huge dropkick right to the face of Murdoch and Rogers falls on top of him! Fulton attacks Adonis as Rogers gets the cover for the 1….2…3!! The Fantastics retain the tag team championship! They get out of the ring with their lives and the tag team titles for all intensive purposes. The crowd is hot for this one. {Before the contest, we see Gino Hernandez & Tully Blanchard come out to the ring. They are joking with the fans saying that Brody isn’t going to show up. We then see Magnum TA come out by himself. He begins to cut a promo on Hernandez and Blanchard before Bill Watts jumps into the ring and shoots on Brody. He says that he couldn’t handle the fight tonight and won’t be back in Mid South if Bill Watts has anything to say about it. He says he isn’t going to let Magnum go it alone… he then takes off his shirt and the crowd EXPLODES! Bill Watts & Magnum TA vs Tully Blanchard & Gino Hernandez -Bill Watts is putting his money where his mouth is here tonight. Wahoo McDaniel vs King Kong Bundy w/ Jimmy Hart -After the quick action of the previous match, we slow things down a bit here with our next contest that is a great showcase of two big, bad dudes in Mid South. NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP Hacksaw Duggan vs Ric Flair © -Big entrances from both men here tonight. Ric Flair looks to be in the best shape of his life and the same could be said about Duggan. This one is an interesting brawl, wrestling, brawl combo. These guys only go about 25-minutes and even then, Duggan looks to have spent everything he has in the middle of the ring. Flair looks to have worked everything he could have over the course of the contest. Flair is masterful at working over the knee and does everything to destroy Duggan’s left leg but the big man fights back and we see him with some humungous right hands and Flair is bumping all over the place. Duggan is hobbling around and he is looking to finish as Flair is selling everything and even a huge shoulder-block that sends him out of the ring to the floor! Duggan is in a bad way as he goes outside and goes for a couple of big rights but Flair ducks and hammers away with some chops. The referee is counting as Flair ducks a fist and then comes with a huge chop block and Duggan goes down. Flair gets back in the ring as Duggan is pulling his way up. Flair holds the referee as out of nowhere Krusher Kruschev comes and DESTROYS DUGGAN WITH THE RUSSIAN CHAIN! Kruschev disappears into darkness as the referee gets to 10! Flair retains the title and holds it up in the air. Duggan begins to stir and he chases Flair to the back, hobbling all the way! Andre the Giant vs The Executioner -After the chaos of the previous match, things slow down but go quickly in this one. We only see these guys for around 6-minutes and it is big man vs big man. Executioner is able to get in some strength moves and heat on Andre who inevitably fights back. He hammers some big time rights and lefts and even a big boot. Andre even goes for the nice butt drop and crushes Executioner’s chest. Executioner is struggling as Andre waits for him as he gets up and Andre grabs him for a huge body slam! The crowd pops! Andre with a huge elbow drop and then the cover for the 1…2….3!! Andre has won it as the executioner is in a bad way. Andre works the fans who always enjoy seeing him. MAIN EVENT LOSER LEAVES MID SOUTH NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP The Junkyard Dog vs Ted Dibiase © -Boyd Pierce does a masterful job introducing this match and says that both men agreed in the back that this would be no count outs and no disqualifications and there MUST BE A WINNER! Much like Rocky, both of these men are helped out by the medics. Dibiase on a stretcher and JYD on his own two feet before a standing ovation. What does this mean for the future of Mid South?!?

1983 Project General Chatter Thread
I am good with the idea of celebrities being free to use. We can just announce it on the free agent thread or something like... Mid South has agreed to a 3 appearance deal with Muhammad Ali. The dates of the appearance are as follows... That way others can use him if needed or work around it. With Thesz, Bruno, and others, if it is just a territory specific thing, that works. I just thought it would add extra flavor with them coming in as special referees or even a judge for NWA title matches or something along those lines. I would argue that Danny Hodge and Grizzly Smith would be guys that I'd like to bring in to do some of those same things. To go along with Fenton, I'd definitely use the sheets to build it up.

Well Jose Lothario I know is on his last legs as a full time in ring performer. He had roughly 16 matches recorded through cagematch, so he will remain "active" throughout that year and then be able to transition into a different role for me. I think everyone is going to use retire differently. If I had Ladd, I would use him up through his last active month and then transition him into another role in the company since he can be used in multiple different ways. It's like if I brought in Lou Thesz... he couldn't work full time at this point, but he could definitely be a guest referee and MAYBE do a tag match, but it would be highly unlikely. Pat Patterson would also be under the same guard in my opinion. He is on his last moments as a full time in ring performer throughout this year but come 1985, he wasn't active full time but sparingly.

Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling Events
The reign of the Macho Man begins. I loved the title swap and while you could see it happening, pulling the trigger is always great. The Richmond card is coming together. I think you've got some great pieces here and are fitting them in good spots. I personally love the Windhams vs Freebirds program right now. Looking forward to Kamala becoming the man beast we all know and love out of all of this as well.

1983 Project General Chatter Thread
The questioning about Bruno is due to possibly him and some others like we talked about with Fritz and even Lou thesz, these polarizing figures in the history of professional wrestling. Is there a way that we could possibly use them for a one or two shot deal as possibly guest referees or something along those lines. I don't personally have any reason to use Bruno Sammartino, but I figured he is the biggest name in the world of Wrestling that is not in our database and wanted to question as to why that occurred in the first place. I was not here when the initial list came in Kris is not here to justify it so I just wanted to ask the question. I would like to ask the same question in regards to celebrities, I would love to use Muhammad Ali as a special guest referee for a superdome show. I don't know how that is accessible right now with the way that we currently run things. Would it be fair to do something where we could book bigger name talent for one or two or three shows in order to build up and use their name value to add value to the presentation of our product. That's all I'm trying to figure out. I already have the rest in peace list going on the Gamestation page if there needs to be a retired list I suggest that we put that together and then start doing some research on who is active and who is not active at this point in our world of wrestling.
