Championship Wrestling from Florida
Lots of good stuff going on here with Florida. I really enjoyed the tone of Graham's interview. I also enjoyed Dusty's promo and the effort into making it so him as you've done with the typing of the words. You have now got the supergroups against one another with Sullivan and the Dream at the top of both teams. It is going to be fun to watch it unfold with other players like the Briscoes and Hennig in the background.

American Wrestling Association results
Cliff notes version of the AWA is never a bad thing. Some good results with some fun match ups. With Hogan away, the heels will play and without a doubt they are getting some strength built up in the AWA at this point. It will be an interesting environment when the Hulkster does return and how and who he will be greeted with, especially with the possibilities from the draft coming up!

Memphis: CWA WRESTLING
The dreaded SCAFFOLD MATCH! Always a fun gimmick to get some guys to risk life and limb. With Piper, JYD, Wrestling II, Butch Reed, Lawler, and the accompaniment of others, Memphis has turned into a powerhouse over night. A great group of talent with good placement. The continued story-telling of these individuals intertwining with one another will end up being the true story of how it all goes down and how Lawler holds his crown here with some great tough competitors around him. Throw in the Rock and Roll Express and you've got the makings of a tag division to be reckoned with. The draft will suit you well to put the finishing pieces in this puzzle.

The ReDraft December 1983
I can edit that for sword. I will move Brad to Macw since it is active and if he doesn't get picked then he has a home as I believe that's what the deal was unless I'm mistaken let me know.

The ReDraft December 1983
Nope, everyone starts the same unless there's a need for it. I was also thinking that they'd keep whatever is left from their rosters after the draft if they wanted as well so we wouldn't have to have a completed 31 round draft to complete their rosters. So Stampede and MACW have picked their five keepers, while other on their roster can be drafted, if those individuals are not, they retain rights to them if they'd like.

1983 Project Guide
Welcome to the 1983 project. This informational piece is being created to provide some clarity on what we are doing with this project and some of the guidelines to how things are ran and the many facets of the project that make it run. In this document I have tried to outline the various topics with headers as a simple go to for individuals looking to join the 1983 project and those who are new to provide guidelines to how things run. This is a living document that will without a doubt change over time and evolves to let the game grow. Let’s get started… PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT -The purpose of the 1983 project is to create a world of wrestling that did not see the Territories dry up in then 1980s. Throughout this process we have already seen the WWF close its doors and no company jump to the national spotlight. Each territory in the project runs in its local and regional markets. Invasion is able, however in-game hostilities can arise and hopefully bring out the best in competition. We encourage all individuals to continue to HAVE FUN! That is the purpose of this project to have all the territories work together with the project but still compete with one another from a writing standpoint. HOW IT WORKS -Individuals pick their own specific promotions and run the territory the way that they want it. Individuals can run house shows in their markets and television shows along with bigger shows. Pay Per View hasn’t been utilized yet so that national exposure won’t be possible for a couple more years at least. -The major point in how this game works is for individuals to write shows. These shows can be as long or as short as you’d like in order to showcase your talent, angles, and writing ability. Each of the promotions puts out a different product and it is encouraged for you to separate yourself from the others and put forth the best product that you can. -Simply start your promotions thread in the promotions sub-board and begin to post from there. All active promotions post their shows on that sub-board. FEEDBACK -All writers are encouraged to give feedback on others shows. It is literally the only way that this project will continue to run is if readers and other writers continue to give that feedback and help others present their individual products. TIMELINE -As of the writing of this document, we are running on the 1983 calendar and will soon to be moving to 1984. Along with that calendar, we run on the specific days of the week. Please make sure to check the calendar to make sure you are in line with those dates if you’d like to put forth the best product. Along with these timelines, a lot of talent sharing happens and it is important for individuals to keep with those dates on bookings. This is the best way to gain trust with other promoters and utilize talent from around North America. ROSTER CAP -All promotions have their own home talent. The roster cap is utilized to keep the game on a level playing field and not let rosters get too bloated. As of this writing, the roster cap is 45 active workers as wrestlers, managers, an/or tag teams. The roster cap will go +1 every three months on April 1st, July 1st, October 1st, and then January 1st. Announcers and referees do not count towards the cap. BOOKING TALENT -Each promotion has its own talent and it is encouraged for others to initiate full trades and partial loans with other promotions to showcase talent if they’d like. I will do my best to keep up the roster database with all the roster moves to keep things clear if you are looking for a specific talent. Promoters can also book Freelancer talent if they choose. FREELANCERS -At the time of this document, there are individuals who are freelance talents who can be booked throughout North America for shows. Bruiser Brody Abdullah the Butcher Mil Mascaras Stan Hansen The Minis Little Tokyo Cowboy Lang Lone Eagle Tiny Tom Little Coco Chili Bowl Butch Cassidy The Haiti Kid Sonny Boy Hayes Tiger Jackson The Women The Fabulous Moolah Princess Victoria Velvet McIntrye Debbie Combs Donna Day Wendi Richter Judy Martin Penny Mitchell Susan Star Joyce Grable Leilani Kai Sherri Martel Madusa Miceli -These freelancers are available on a month-to-month basis with a revolving carousel of promoters having the ability to book them out for the month. When a promoter has control of the freelancers, that individual has first dibs, and then other promoters can request dates on these individuals and use them for their shows. It is up to the month promoter to keep an up to date list of those being used and help the freelance function of this project continue. JAPAN -The 1983 project continues with the All Japan and New Japan dates. Individuals on those tours are gone from North American for those times and cannot be used while on tour. Those tour dates will be showcase on the main thread of the 1983 project. DEATHS -One of the specific functions of the 1983 project is the detail we put into the realism of the world of wrestling. When an individual passes away, they are taken out of the world of wrestling. FREE AGENCY -Individuals who are free agents can be picked up off the free agency wire. If a promotion is below the cap, a free agent can be picked up with no drop. If a promotion is at the cap, in order to pick up a free agent, the promotion must drop a talent to replace them on the free agency wire. FRESH FACE DRAFTS -There will be monthly fresh face drafts as new roster debuts. These are often times young, green talent. When Shawn Michaels debuts, he is not the heartbreak kid, he is a job guy who gets destroyed weekly. It is your creative choice to build him, but the realism of how that individual is built must be taken into affect. The fresh face draft is a true draft. Once a promotion makes a pick, they go to the bottom of the line. When individuals drop out of the draft, the draft continues until all promotions have dropped. All individuals left on the fresh face draft are entered into free agency. NEW PROMOTIONS -Individuals who are reading this and the products that we put out are encouraged to join the 1983 project. New promotions will go through this schedule... 1. Announce their intention to join on General Chatter or through PM to LowBlowPodcast 2. We will this discuss the promotion that you would like to activate. 3. You will then select 20 people from Free Agency to begin your promotion with. 4. You will produce shows for 4 consecutive weeks before 5. If you fulfill the 4 weeks, you will then be given full go ahead with the 45 person cap limit and ability to do trades and loans with other promotions. DEAD PROMOTIONS -Unless notified due to circumstances we will be going by a 60-day no communication and 90-days of not posting of a show to eliminate a promotion. We completely understand that life happens. COMMUNICATE with other on the general chatter thread to let us know what is going on. Again, this is a living document that will change over time. I put this document together to cover all the basics for what we are doing here and what we hope to achieve. These are simply guidelines for individuals to follow. This is not the say all be all and most issues can be resolved through communication with the other promotions. Please post any questions you have. Please post any recommendations you have. **THIS DOCUMENT IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE BUT WILL SIMPLY ACT AS A FOUNDATIONAL PIECE TO ANSWER MOST QUESTIONS REGARDING THE 1983 PROJECT. PLEASE POST ANY AND ALL AMENDMENTS SO THAT THEY CAN BE ADDED.

Mid South Wrestling on Tour Nov. 1983
Mid South Wrestling is coming to you from the Irish McNeil Boy’s Club in Shreveport, Louisiana on Fox and its affiliates Fox 8 out of New Orleans, KLRT 16 out of Little Rock, WXXV 25 out of Jackson, KOKH 25 out of Oklahoma City, and KRIV 26 out of Houston. {Mid South Wrestling opens with highlights of all the top stars of Mid South Wrestling. We then cut to the Jim Ross and Bill Watts standing by!} Jim Ross: WELCOME EVERYONE TO MID SOUTH WRESTLING! I am Jim Ross alongside Bill Watts! Fans we have got a HUGE night of action but Bill… I think we have got to talk about what happened just this past Friday night in Houston! Bill Watts: It was Black Friday in Houston! The fans saw the RETURN OF THE JUNKYARD DOG! Jim Ross: Fans it was electric in the arena and we know that the JYD is back! Bill Watts: He is a double tough competitor and someone who is looking to get back in the hunt and you know he has got Ted Dibiase and the One Man Gang on his mind! Jim Ross: Fans tonight we will see Ted Dibiase in action against Wahoo McDaniel and the North American Championship is going to be on the line. Plus, we will see that huge tag team battle royal. Bill Watts: Lemme tell ya… tonight we are going to find out who will be going back to Houston and face the Samoans. Jim Ross: It is going to be a monumental night in the history of Mid South Wrestling fans, let’s take it to the ring! Dennis Stamp & Pete Sanchez vs The One Man Gang -A fun little opener as Stamp and Sanchez do their best against the Gang but nothing doing. He is without a doubt one of the toughest men in the sport and he lays waste to these two like they were nothing. He body slams both men on top of one another and a big double 747 splash for the 1…2…3!! He works the crowd as they ERUPT when out of the back walks the Junkyard Dog! The JYD IS HERE as officials and agents are in between him and the Gang… *COMMERCIAL* -MSW returns as Watts and Ross put over the big double night showdown in Houston in just a couple of weeks. They talk about the possibility of the NWA World Champion coming in to defend against the North American Champion. They say that Stan Hansen will be there and so will Andre the Giant and you know that couple spell trouble. They put over the tag team division and say that in two weeks, we will see a special showcase contest from two of the top teams in the country when the Rock N Roll Express take on the Midnight Express. They talk about some of the super teams in this battle royal and then cut to the ring! TAG TEAM BATTLE ROYAL The Blackjacks, Mr. Wrestling II & ThunderBolt Patterson, The Fantastics, The German Destroyers, Masked Superstar & Don Muraco, S.D. Jones & El Bracero, Los Conquistadors, Israel Matia & Raul Castro, Mad Dog Boyd & Jerry Brown -A couple of duds out there but this is a fun twenty man royal. Watts and Ross put over how if one man gets eliminated, then so does his partner. We see that happen right off the bat as Wrestling II and Don Muraco go head over heels and just start lighting one another up. On the other side of the ring Masked Superstar and ThunderBolt do the same and before too long all four men are out of the ring to the floor. We see the Blackjacks do some nice work and throw a couple of guys out. The Fantastics are sporting some taped ribs and bandages as Ross and Watts put over what happened to them the other night in Houston. We get some of the flack out of the ring and it comes down to the final four teams with the Jacks, Fantastics, Destroyers, and El Bracero & SD. We get some fun back and forth action and a close elimination as Fulton goes over the top and one foot touches the floor but not two. On the other side of the ring SD Jones with a clothesline on Von Hess taking him out of the ring to the floor! The Germans are done but The Baron is holding on to El Bracero as the Blackjacks toss SD Jones! We are down to two! We see the classic BIG vs small with the Blackjacks trying to overpower the Fantastics but they are playing cat and mouse! We see some big clotheslines coming but Rogers and Fulton duck and then come back with some huge dropkicks and the Jacks back up but then the Fantastics run one more time with some huge dropkicks and the Blackjacks go over the top and to the floor! The Fantastics have won it! They are going to Houston! The crowd is going wild as this huge contest comes to an end. Rogers and Fulton get their shot in a couple of weeks but can they overpower the Samoans?!? *COMMERCIAL* -MSW returns and out of nowhere Superstar Billy Graham walks out in front of the commentary booth… Superstar Graham: It is the time… this is the place… one week from now the world will be changed forever. I am talking about the premiere body in all of professional wrestling. I am talking about the man who will change the scope of the sport. I am talking about the man who will do what no other has done! I have got the power right here in the palm of my hand and I am giving it to him. I am giving it to the body. I am giving it to the mind. I am giving him the heart and the soul of the Superstar daddy. You are talking about the absolute… the cream of the crop and it has risen to the top! -Just like that Graham walks off as Ross and Watts put it through the roof. We then see Paul Jones come out with Don Muraco. Jones it putting over the television champion and says without a doubt that Wrestling II will never touch that TV title! Just then Wrestling II does come out and he challenges Muraco on the 17th of December. Muraco says it isn’t enough and Wrestling II says he will put his mask on the line against Muraco’s television title! Bill Watts then steps in and says that it is going to be a huge event in Houston and that the television title will be contest in a CAGE MATCH on the 17th! He states that on the 16th we will see Bruiser Brody and Wahoo McDaniel taking on the Blackjacks in a cage match! They put over Andre the Giant taking on Stan Hansen and just announced ThunderBolt Patterson taking on The Masked Superstar! We will have more matches announced as we see Ted Dibiase coming down to the ring for the match that we will have when we come back from commercial! *COMMERCIAL* NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP Wahoo McDaniel vs Ted Dibiase © -We have got limited television time remaining but Bill Watts and Jim Ross have stated that the cameras will continue to roll! Wahoo is out to a huge ovation from the crowd and this one starts out hot! We have got some huge CHOPS and Dibiase is selling like he’s never sold before! Wahoo is not in his prime condition but he puts out some good offense and keeps the pace. Dibiase pulls the referee out of the way and then hits a LOW BLOW on Wahoo McDaniel! He starts to dig and scratch away at Wahoo which draws out the Junkyard Dog to a huge ovation. He is trying to tell the referee that Dibiase is cheating as Dibiase continues to pull something out of his tights and then he puts it back in. Out of the back comes the One Man Gang and he just DESTROYS JYD with the chain on the back of the head! Gang then jumps in the ring and it is 2 on 1 against Wahoo as this one is all over. Watts and Ross are going nuts on commentary putting it over! JYD climbs back in the ring and here we go! We have got fists of fire reigning down as the crowd is going nuts. Watts and Ross sign off as MSW will be back next week!

The ReDraft December 1983
As kind of a frame of reference, I know we have a couple more people interested in joining so we can try and get them set up. Jhawk and Superfan have yet to reply if they are going to take part or not. It is currently Tuesday, so I say we at least go until Friday and see what happens and possibly start Saturday. Put the word out to anyone you know who is interested and we can pick things up from there.

Roster Database
Should be good to go now.

The ReDraft December 1983
I can edit and have the Flame and Don Bass full time for you as that is probably what would happen if they were 50/50 and one company went out of business they would more than likely join the other anyways so that works. If you do want to add people, it would be done through Free Agency and the Fresh Face drafts like we've been doing. Free agency will get some people when we try to refit into the cap plus we still have to decide on what to do with all the left over talent. Does it stay with the promotion or does everyone become free to pick up for free agency.
-
Trade deals
As long as we're good with that... Andre will become a freelancer starting January 1st since he is in Japan most of December and already has some bookings for December. The whole Freelancers booking portion of this is something we will need to look into and re-doing the list to make sure everyone is up to date on who has which month and who is available.

The ReDraft December 1983
All active promotions please post your 15 keepers and then your list of those who will be up for draft and I will edit the main post here. We just need to finalize if managers will be 36 total or 36 + 3 managers. I am fine either way.

The ReDraft December 1983
Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the Re-Draft of the 1983 project. As we approach 1984, some promotions have fallen while others have risen. Some promotion have found new owners and others have ceased to exist. Some wrestlers have not seen the world while others have traveled too hard too long. The main purpose of this draft is to re-introduce members of the inactive rosters into the active rosters and utilize them to their individual potentials. Keep in mind that individuals must follow the 36-wrestler cap when drafting. Here are the rules… The draft will go in SNAKE order with a strict 24-hour time limit. The purpose of the 24-hour limit is to not take picks from someone, but rather continue the draft to finish it in a timely manner. If you know that you will not be available, simply let myself know your top 10 and I can make a proxy pick for you. If you do miss your pick, once you are available, you can come in and pick at your earliest convenience. You will then be re-entered into the order and pick at your next available spot. In order to enter the draft, ACTIVE promotions must initiate their 15-player hold. The rest of their roster will then be eligible to be drafted by others. IF MEMBERS ON YOUR LIST DON'T GET DRAFT, YOU KEEP RIGHTS TO THEM. IF YOU ARE OVER THE CAP WHEN THE DRAFT IS COMPLETE, YOU WILL NEED TO RELEASE TO FREE AGENCY. NEW promotions will have the ability to keep 5-people on their hold and then draft the rest of their roster. Again, no promotions can go over the 36-worker & 3-manager cap. Individuals can drop out of the draft at any point and then utilize free agency to continue to build his individual roster. ONE POINT to remember is that the draft picks will not be active until the individual drops from the draft. For instance, if Mid South were to draft Ric Flair, I would not be able to use him until I completed the draft and dropped out. Those individuals in the draft can keep proposed dates and then become free. Please work this out with the individuals that draft said worker so that you don’t have to change up your plans due to this happening. Each person picked is one draft pick. Teams can be picked, but it forfeits your following pick in the next round. For instance, if Mid South were to draft the Road Warriors, I would get Hawk in round 1 and then Animal in round 2 and my round two pick would be automated. This is exactly the same as the initial draft back in June. You can also just choose to draft one member of a team and keep that person without his partner (and maybe get lucky later in the draft). Our draft master BEAST will be releasing the order once we have a complete set of who is in and who is out. Please let me know if you have any questions and I will update this as needed. Discussion 2 Rosters etc.
Do we want the cap to be 36 workers + 3 managers or just 36 total for everyone including managers?
-
Discussion 2 Rosters etc.
I hear ya there PW... the thing I think everyone is jumping to about the cap is that you must get there. The cap is there to let you know the max. If you want to run a promotion with 15-20 people, you are more than welcome too. Don't let the cap say, you HAVE to have 36 people, it is simply an option for those who are looking to do more. Everyone is going to be on the same playing field, just some will have more players but there will be no one who completely rules the roost. None of the territories are going NATIONAL right off the bat. The cap just allows for growth for those who want it and those who don't can run their promotion as small as they'd like or move up and down within the cap with no hesitation.

1983 Project General Chatter Thread
Sounds great. I think we have two more in the hopper right now but we will definitely be getting going on the re-draft in the coming days. I am working on the draft thread tonight to put up.
-
1983 Project General Chatter Thread
Absolutely, the winds of change are here and now is the best time to join. Check out the inactive promotions and see who'd you be interested in.

1983 Project General Chatter Thread
That would be great PWsony. Check out the http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?/topic/32535-roster-database/ and let us know who you're looking for. Gene has said he's interested in MACW or ICW depending.

Trade deals
One thing I did want to put out there for everyone was the trade with Andre that Dawho and I had. The initial trade was for the Fantastics for Andre. Andre was up front with the Fantastics coming in down the line. As we have discussed, Andre as an attraction is a great way to present him and I wanted to see if there was objection to reverting this trade and offering up Andre to become a full time freelancer? Andre would then be available for everyone to book with no issues and he would also be stepping in for the Sheik who I believe is going to be going into semi-retirement next year. Any thoughts? I am good either way, but thought this would be a good thing to throw out there and allow Andre to be used by everyone.
