It what was supposed to be Triumph only confusion has reigned in the world of World Championship Wrestling out of Chicago. The confusion was not just from this weekend's past show "American Meltdown" but the happenings over the course of the summer. The biggest change was a shift in power and creative from Dusty Rhodes to Ric Flair. How is that? Rhodes was initially on as one of the top contributors to the promotion and creative of WCW. The problem occurred on multiple occasion when Rhodes would be show on television... WGN... covered in blood. The head honchos as WGN feel that wrestling is a main draw for them and Chicago can be a true center hub for the promotion... but not the way Rhodes was going. It was then that they explored other options and through the grapevine... Ric Flair's name came up and his contract was due... then the negotiations began. Once Flair had verbally agreed, Rhodes caught wind, and needless to say that some wounds won't heal. Rhodes asked for more power but was instead offered a lucrative payout and deal to leave the promotion. Now, Flair is the one who is in the same role that Rhodes was in and has buddied up to WCW officials quite well... other than Jim Herd. The too keen on some of the same ideas. This would explain notable changes like Sherri moving to Bam Bam and dropping the Nasties, The Six-man Titles not being discussed and possibly dropped, the soon to be disappearance of the international division, and more importantly... getting out of these big stadium shows. Flair prefers to run medium sized shows that can sell out but also show that the company is successful were Rhodes wanted the ambiance of the stadium... but that also meant empty seating. As it stands right now... only 15,000 tickets have been sold and word is that some of them are comps from WGN officials. With Flair in power... look for more direction in regards to the WCW Title and re-establishing the other singles titles... but maybe not the International Championship and the six-man titles. The tag titles are said to get the major push and main event spot going into Wrigley... the Cage Match will close the show. Some other notable happenings were the movement of talent... Race and Orton being two of the biggest names along with the Road Warriors. Michael Hayes was also said to be on Dusty's side and he ended up in a different territory because of the deal. Rhodes has since gone on to have a stellar start with another promotion and the dust has settled... pun intended... Flair is in WCW... Randy Savage is champion... and WrestleFest at Wrigley is weeks away!

World Championship Wrestling Saturday July 15 Decator, Illinois WCW opens to footage from American Meltdown. We see all the highlights… the new International Champion the Great Muta, New WCW Champion Randy Savage and so much more. We also see quick clips of Arn Anderson showing up and attacking Ricky Steamboat with Ric Flair! We go to Tony Schaivone and Diamond Dallas Page who are standing by… Tony and DDP go over all kinds of happenings… they bring up the big international battle royal and how Tiger Mask gets his chance at Muta at Wrigley. They put over the issue with Bam Bam Bigelow and Sherri. They put over the new WCW Champion Randy Savage. We have to head to our first contest… let’s go to the ring. The Barbarian debuts against Mike Steele and beats him within an inch of his life. Barbarian hits a nice flying shoulder block on Steele to get the victory. We hear a commotion and here comes the Dr. of Style… Slick. He’s got Hercules and the Towers with him. They put over the issue of the Rockers and Slick says that the final battle lines have been drawn… we are going to see the Twin Towers and the Rockers at Wrigley… but this time it is going to be inside a STEEL CAGE! The crowd loves to hear that… but then we also hear that Hercules… the strongest man in the world… is the first challenger for Randy Savage at Wrigley… he is going to destroy his victory party before it even gets started! We return to WCW and the Z-Man comes out with the TV title… he says he can’t wait to be a fighting champion like he’s been already… but now against real talent. Schiavone says that we will see eight contenders turn down to 1 and they will face Zenk at Wrigley… we’ve got four matches tonight… two next week… then the finals… who will be the winner… let’s get things started! Konnan vs Vega w/ Castillo & Perez is a good opener for our tv tournament. Konnan seems to have lost some momentum as of late and Vega seems to be building back up. Here… the numbers get involved and cause Konnan to be distracted and then get absolutely rocked with a spinning heel kick and then a three count as Vega is our winner. Before we go to commercial… we see Mike Rotundo come out and he says plain and simple that he’s tired of this crap that Jake Roberts has been spewing… he didn’t deserve to get DDT’d the other night… but now it is time for Roberts to get what he deserves and Rotundo is going to be the one to do it! We’re back and Tony puts over the issue with Rick Steamboat. We see a video of the injury and the attack from Flair and Anderson. We then find out that Steamboat has been diagnosed with a severe concussion and he will be out indefinitely. We then go to our next tv title tourney match. Chris Benoit vs Masa Chono is a hard hitting bout like their previous contest a couple of weeks ago. Gary Hart is out here and he plays a role but rather gets in the way when Chono runs into him and then falls into a couple of big German Suplexes by Benoit and the final he holds for a three count! Benoit is the winner and he is moving on! Before commercials… we have the Rockers come out and they talk about the tag title match. They say that they just started by coming out ready to fight at American Meltdown… but in Wrigley… at the Wrestlefest… inside the cage… they are coming to fight and coming to win. WCW returns and what a moment… Ric Flair and Arn Anderson come out to a mixed reaction from the crowd. We then get to hear the what and why from both men. Anderson discusses how WCW is going to be the premiere wrestling promotion in the world but they need the premiere athletes… in come Ric Flair and Arn Anderson. They have set the bar higher than any other team or group has ever done. Together… they will ascend to the top of WCW and it will only be a matter of time. Flair then goes in depth on Steamboat… says he trained with Steamboat for the Savage match… but Steamboat wouldn’t listen to him. He told him to take the shortcuts and find ways to get into Savage’s head but Steamboat wouldn’t… so he and Anderon got into his head and put him to sleep. Flair says that there is nothing but gold in their future… Paul Roma vs Arn Anderson is a great showcase for Anderson making his debut here tonight. Roma does some great work and sells very well for Arn who is made to look like a top guy. The finish is the spinebuster and Anderon gets the three count relatively easily. He moves to next week and another big match. Anderson makes his way back over to Schiavone and Flair but wait a minute… Dangerous Danny Spivey comes out and the crowd is rocking. Spivey says he is coming for Flair! Tells him that if he wants gold to come and get it! We’re back with Hacksaw Jim Duggan and he is irate about the six-man title situation… he says that he is going to be looking for Bam Bam and if he finds him he’s going to shove the 2x4 where the sun doesn’t shine and if it is Sherri… well she will get the smooch of her life and a spank to get sent down the road. HOOOO! He then says that he’s got issues with the Nasty Boys too… Duggan goes on to say that people always ask him where he gets his 2x4s and he says it is from the best lumber in the Northwest… he’s got a buddy named Maniac Matt who chops the trees and gives him the high quality wood to chop down his competition… if the Nasty Boys want the fight he’s ready to give them one. Our final TV Title Eliminator Match is between Ivan Koloff and the returning Koko B Ware. Koko has a nice pop from the crowd and comes in like a house of fire. We see the Russians try to get involved but Koko sets up Ivan to hit both of them with a double clotheslines… and then hits his own big time dropkick on Ivan for the 1…2….3! Koko has a tough road ahead next week but could he be in line for the TV Title upon his return?! Jake Roberts is then shown with Damien and he is letting the snake crawl on Tony Schiavone’s shoulder… he goes on… “Mike Rotundo… an All-American Wrestler from Syracuse who has the eduction of a scholar… the athleticism of a gladiator… but the mind of an imbecile. Mike Rotundo you want to come out here and challenge me? Ha..ha… brother you’ve been challenged by the forces of nature to stand the test of time but the real challenge is coming. You want to shake this snakes tree… we… you got it. Remember the thing about snakes is that they don’t do it fast… they do it slow… they take their time… and Rotundo I am going to do the same thing… and it won’t be fast.. But it will be lethal… Gary Hart brings out his men and he even goes on to tell Chono to leave. Gary Hart says he has no time for incompetence and when it comes to guys losing matches… he is losing his patience. He says that Muta is the only undefeated wrestler in the world. He’s the only undefeated champion in the world. He holds three different titles from three different counties and will soon be the undisputed champion when he destroys Tiger Mask II… that is if he survives Crush! Tiger Mask II vs Crush w/ Gary Hart is another letdown for Mr. Hart. Tiger Mask II is prime right now. He is so crisp in the ring and he handles Crush with his expertise. He ducks a big clothesline and then turns it into a Tiger Driver for the 3-count! Tiger Mask looks at Muta and makes the sign of the belt… will his time come soon? Here comes Sensational Sherri and she’s got Bam Bam Bigelow and the Nasty Boys with her. She goes on to say that she is a woman who gets what she wants… she takes it… and what she doesn’t need… she gets rid of… so Nasty Boys… I wanted you to get this man right here… you were pawns in a man’s game… but the woman was running the show. (Security comes out) Now get these punks out of here! Security then escorts them to the back but they are letting Sherri have it! The Nasty Boys say they want Bigelow! They will get their revenge! Sherri then goes on to say that this is the Beast from the East… this is the most athletic and dominant heavyweight in the history of professional wrestling and I am going to finally unleash him on WCW. No one is safe… everyone is a target… Duggan.. The Nasty Boys… Dan Spivey… Randy Savage… I love the feel of gold… don’t think you aren’t in our sights. Bigelow then goes on to say that the world is his for the taking… he is going to unleash the Beast and burn everyone to the ground! WCW returns and we see a quick rundown of the matches for Wrestlefest at Wrigley. We find out that Randy Savage defends the WCW title against Hercules… Tiger Mask II vs Great Muta for the International Championship… Mike Rotundo and Jake Roberts has been signed for a one on one match… plus we will see a huge tag team title match inside a steel cage… The Rockers taking on The Twin Towers… fans it is going to be on fire… but wait just a moment… We end things with the one and the only WCW Champion… Randy Macho Man Savage! He and Elizabeth look great. Savage goes on to say that he’s been right next to Ricky Steamboat since he’s been in the hospital and he has got a list… at the top of the list is Ric Flair and Arn Anderson… but like a man and the champion he plans to be the title has to be defended. Next week the Rockers and the Macho Man team up… because soon they’ll be in the ring against Hercules and the Twin Towers. Hercules may have the power of 1,000 men but barely has the heart of one. The Macho Man has strength, speed, and heart… and heart is what’s going to keep the title around his waist! Hercules the Wrestlefest at Wrigley is going to be an event that makes the beginning of the Macho Man’s reign as WCW Champion and the end of your career! Then… ohh yeah… then Ric Flair… haha… if there’s anything left of you from Dan Spivey… I am coming to clean it up and spit it back out! DIG IT!

I appreciate the flow of your show and the feel like I've said many times before. Something about the main event just hit when it is a champion showing why their a champion.

National Wrestling Alliance
You're so quick and efficient with these shows. I like Aces high... good use there... I appreciate the way that you're handling Brody. I had Gino when he died years ago and its tough to do it the right way even though that person's world would be different. Good handling of the Horsemen shakeup. Then we bring out Harley Race to team with Ole... the old dogs are looking for one more run. I think that Hayes, Ron, Jimmy, and Tully are going to be some serious names to follow as we ed 1988.

Sunday, July 9th American Meltdown PPV - Chicago - Soldier Field! Dark Matches: Paul Roma defeated Sabu Hercules w/ Slick defeated Taz Crush w/ Gary Hart defeated The Italian Stallion {We open to a wide shot of Soldier Field and a good crowd of around 25,000 are on hand. We have about 6,000 on the field while the rest are in the stands. The ring is located near the endzone and the fans are rabid. The crowd is hot and here is Tony Schiavone and Diamond Dallas Page!} Tony: Ladies and gentlemen you are looking live on an amazing crowd here in Chicago, Illinois and Soldier Field is buzzing DDP! DDP: That’s right Tony… they know that tonight is the night daddy… we have got everything on the line and brother only a few will be able to survive! Tony: Fans tonight we’ll see 5 big title matches including a battle royal to determine the number one contender for the International Championship… DDP: Plus we got Dangerous Danny Spivey, the US Champ against the Macho Man… winner gets Steamboat later on! Tony: Another question on everyone’s mind is Bam Bam Bigelow… will he be the third man for Sherri tonight in the six-man? DDP: If Bigelow has an ounce of sense in his brain… he will come out there and lead them Nasty Boys to a big victory! Tony: The other wild card in that match is of course… Jake the Snake Roberts. Tonight we’ll also see the Great Muta taking on Chris Benoit… all three titles… the European, Mexican, and Japanese titles will all be unified to make an International Champion… DDP Your thoughts? DDP: Both of these guys are tough and can go with the best of them so I have to give the edge in this one to brains and my man, they don’t get much smarter than Gary Hart! Tony: That may be true…The Rockers will also get their shot at the Twin Towers tonight… the Honky Tonk Man attempts to get the TV Title from the Z-man… fans it is going to be a night… it is time to go to the ring! Winner gets first shot at International Championship Battle Royal: Tiger Mask II, Konnan, Blue Demon, Silver King, Solar, Diablo, Conquistador I, Conquistador II, Vega, Castillo, Perez, Chono, Haku, Ivan Koloff, The Russian Pitbulls, & Dragon Azul {Forearm fest 88 starts things off here. The lucha guys have done all they can to get over but fans just aren’t buying into it. We see guys like Demon, Silver King, Solar, and Diablo out early as their writing is on the wall. Dragon Azul and Chono have a nice little issue but it leads to both of them being eliminated. Ivan Koloff has got his Pitbulls primed but Vega, Perez, and Castillo make it a six-man affair before all of them end up down and out. We end up with both Conquistadors, Konnan, Haku, and Tiger Mask II in the ring. The Conquistadors continue their issue with Konnan leading to him being eliminated but then we see Tiger Mask II come with a double clothesline and he takes the two of them out. It comes down to Haku and Tiger Mask and they put on a little show but nothing much. Haku looks to have it won and when he comes with a Tongan Spike, Tiger Mask ducks out of the way and comes back with a dropkick right to the jaw… Haku is dazed and Tiger Mask runs with a cross body and takes him out of the ring to the floor but Tiger Mask holds on and slides back in the ring. Tiger Mask II is the winner and he will be moving on to face the Winner of the Benoit and Muta Match!} [We then see a quick promo for a special show being held on July the 30th from Wrigley Field… it is the Wrigley Wrestlefest and all the top stars will be in action. We’ll have an updated card next week on WCW. We head back to the ring and Nick Bockwinkel is there to make the announcement regarding the next match and how the winner will return this evening to take on Ricky Steamboat for the WCW Championship! Randy Savage w/ Elizabeth vs Dan Spivey {What an event…. Macho Man comes out to an amazing ovation. The crowd is 100% behind him. Spivey has got some great heat and looks good as the US Champion. These two go about 17-minutes… and it is rough. Spivey beats the living hell out of Savage only for the Macho Man to keep coming back time and time again. The crowd is riled up here and start to chant for Savage. Spivey looks to be working the ring and neck and we see a nasty bump where he tosses him right up against the rampway. Savage makes one good comeback but it just isn’t enough and Spivey comes with a huge knee right to the gut. Spivey says he’s going to finish him off and then he grabs Savage… sets him up for the powerbomb… motions to the crowd… lifts him up… but Savage with a couple of big right hands… he jumps over Spivey’s back and then goes down for a backslide and the 1…2….3!!! SAVAGE HAS WON IT!} The crowd explodes for the Macho Man but Spivey isn’t happy. He grabs Savage and throws him out of the ring to the floor. Spivey then pushes the referee down. He looks like a man possessed. Spivey is being escorted out of the ringside area. Savage is being helped to his feet and it looks like he may have busted up that elbow again when he fell outside… we go to the back where Eric Bischoff is standing by with The Z-man. Zenk cuts a nice little promo on Honkytonk and Says that this is the day the music died. He’s going to shut him up once and for all and keep the TV title as he does it! We see a quick video highlighting the WCW International Championship feuds that have been taking place. It will culminate tonight with the Great Muta and Chris Benoit putting the titles together for one International Championship. We head to the ring for this big contest… TITLE for TITLE Great Muta w/ Gary Hart vs Chris Benoit {Three titles on the line… so much prestige into each of these… the European, Japanese, and Mexican Championships will become one tonight. Benoit and Muta look great coming out here… Muta is just oozing with star power as the fans have really gravitated towards him even as a heel. Benoit is raw and gritty but the crowd gives him support. This one is a 22-minute technical showdown. These two give each other move for move and leave everything they’ve got in the ring. Both men are worn down by the end and the paint from Muta is almost off his face. Benoit goes into a big chop fest but Muta counters back and hits a couple of big kicks to the ring. Benoit then counters for a pair of German Suplexes… he then goes up top… sets up and leaps for a diving headbutt… MYST! Muta Mysts him going down and Benoit misses. Muta shakes his head… goes up the ropes and MOONSAULT for the 1….2….3!!! Muta has won it! Muta is the International Champion and the crowd is riled up. Gary Hart is with him and grabs the titles as they hoist them up! Is this as high as he’ll go or will there be more gold in Muta’s future?!?!} Eric Bischoff is standing by right now with WCW Champion, Rick Steamboat. He is sporting some taped up ribs. He goes on about how Savage may be hurt going into the match and he isn’t 100% either but they will make sure the world knows who the WCW champion is when all is said and done tonight. We then see Ric Flair walk into the scene… he shakes Steamboat’s hand and tells him that he is going to be ringside to make sure this one goes right down the middle. We go to a video showcasing the big six-man title tournament/feuds going on and then the debut of Sherri - the betrayal of Duggan - and the choice of Bigelow. Bischoff is then standing by with Jake, Rotundo, and Duggan. They put over the huge math and talk about the titles… which are meaningless when it comes to honor and respect. Roberts says “They say you can only trust a man as far as you can throw him… well… what happens when you toss a snake and it slithers around you leg and trips you mid throw… when… what is the measurement of trust… Duggan and Rotundo look confused but walk out one by one for their matchup. Television Championship Z-Man vs Honky Tonk Man w/ The Roadies {Zenk gets a huge matchup here for his television championship and these two know exactly how to tango. The Roadies play a fun little role outside the ring but can’t seem to get under Zenk’s skin. When it looks like Z-man has things under control, they are able to slow him down for Honky to get into a nice little heel heat segment. He wears down Zenk but the Z-man has fight left in him. He comes back with fists of fire. The Roadies try to get involved again but out of the back runs Paul Roma! Roma is able to knock them around and send them packing. Honky is screaming at them and Roma but when he turns around… off the top rope… the Z-man with a dropkick right on the jaw! 1….2….3!!!} Eric Bischoff is in the back and he’s outside of the training room where Randy Savage is shown getting his elbow looked at. We see them close the door and Bischoff says he isn’t sure how Randy Savage will be able to continue here this evening… but then out of nowhere Dan Spivey comes… he kicks the door open and it slams shut! We can hear Elizabeth screaming and crying… oh my! SIX MAN TITLES Hacksaw Duggan, Rotundo, & Jake Roberts vs The Nasty Boys w/ Sherri {Well it's the six-man title… but only five men and a Sherri show up. These guys have got a solid little story but the variable of Jake Roberts is soon unleashed. He gets in some offense but backs off. When Duggan or Rotundo look for a tag he is slow to accept and even denies it. The Nasty Boys are working well enough together but the numbers outweigh their team unity. That is until Jake Roberts pops down from the apron… and he walks over to get damien and walks out… this leaves Rotundo and Duggan wondering what’s going on. Rotundo runs after him but Jake nails him and hits the DDT! Rotundo is out for the count on the floor… Roberts is walking to the back… inside the ring, it is a 3 on 2 now to a 2 on 1 and Duggan is getting hammered! The crowd is chanting USA…USA…USA but out of the back runs Bam Bam Bigelow! Bigelow pushes Knobbs into Sags and they go flying out of the ring. Sherri gets up on the apron and starts to scream at Bigelow… he walks over and gives her a huge smooch on the lips and she looks flabbergasted. Bigelow smiles as Duggan walks over and grabs his shoulder… this gives Bam Bam a chance to back up and then hit a nasty heel kick to the back of Duggan’s head and puts him down. Bigelow walks over and pins him for the 1….2….3!} Sherri gets in the ring and hugs her man… the Nasty Boys come in but Bigelow and Sherri kind of leave them behind… Bigelow has the six-man titles and he walks out… with Sherri… but the Nasty Boys… well they are left behind! We get a special video highlighting the big Rockers v Twin Towers feud… so much has gone into this matchup and the fans have seen the ups and downs. We see the inclusion of Hercules and the six-man fiasco. It comes down to this big rematch for the titles… who will walk out with the gold? Before the contest… we see Rusty and Dusty… the Jesters come out and they work the fans. They come over and run a little gag on DDP to where they both have a bucket and act like they’ll throw it on him but instead they fake him out… then Rusty does throw it but it is just paper confetti… DDP laughs it off… that is until Dusty comes and throws the bucket of water on him and the crowd explodes with laughter! WCW Tag Team Championship The Rockers vs The Twin Towers w/ Slick {The Slickster leads his men out to the ring to a chorus of boos. The interesting thing though… when the Rockers music hits… they don’t show up. The music hits again… they don’t show up… Slick gets on the microphone and starts to work the fans about how scared they are and how they are too dumb to show up for the but whooping that the Towers would give them… that is until out of the crowd… Michaels and Jannetty come out and they’ve got weapons! They jump in the ring and they hammer away at the Towers! The referee isn’t sure to call for the match to start or end but we’ve got a fight here! The Rockers then hit Slick with a double dropkick and sent him out of the ring to the floor! The Towers get back up and the Rockers are on the offensive with big time rights and lefts! They take another pair of big dropkicks and send the Towers out of the ring… the Rockers then hit the ropes and then suicide dives through the ropes and take the Towers down to the floor! The referees and officials run out to break this up as all hell has broken loose! The Towers are all befuddled outside the ring with Slick who had his hat knocked off. The Rockers were disqualified with the weapons but they may have won the battle… this story is far, from over! Eric Bischoff is standing by and he is trying to track down Jake Roberts… Roberts is questioned about his actions and he says… “You know something… they say that you can measure a man by his ability to handle adversity. Well… I guess we just saw the measurement of Jim Duggan and Mike Rotundo. Well… you see… I don’t put myself in adverse situations I create them. So… haha… you won’t see me relying on anyone but myself… and Damien… ever again. Trust me…. We then see a special promo video for a huge show taking place on July the 30th from Wrigley Field as WCW Presents: Wrigley Wrestlefest 88! In the back we see Slick standing by and he is huffing and puffing up something awful right now. He is letting everyone know that his Twin Towers were cheated and something has to be done! He says that he is taking this to the board of directors and come WCW on Saturday Night… he is going to put it all on the line and the Rockers are going to have to put up or shut up because he is going to tear them apart! {It is the moment we have all been waiting for. The crowd is excited and the building is at a hush as the Macho Man’s music hits and he comes out with the Lovely Elizabeth. Macho has his arm heavily wrapped with the brace and Elizabeth looks worried. We then see the Nature Boy Ric Flair make his grand entrance… he is in the suit and tie but still an intimidating sight. Then we see the champion… Ricky the Dragon Steamboat walk out with the WCW title and the fans are going wild. We head to Mike McGuirk in the ring. Mike McGuirk: Ladies and gentlemen this is the main event of the evening and it is for the WCW Heavyweight Championship! This match is one fall with a sixty minute time limit. Introducing first, he is a special guest who will be joining the ranks of WCW. He is a former heavyweight champion of the world. Ladies and gentlemen… the Nature Boy… Ric Flair! Now… the challenger… he hails from Sarasota, Florida. He is the former WCW United States Champion. He is accompanied to the ring by the Lovely Elizabeth. Ladies and gentlemen… Randy Macho Man Savage! His opponent… he hails from Charlotte, North Carolina… he is the reigning… defending… WCW Heavyweight Champion… Ricky the Dragon…. STEAMBOAT! WCW Championship Ricky Steamboat vs Randy Savage {Perhaps the most important title match in the history of WCW. We know that Steamboat’s ribs are hurt. We know that Savage’s elbow is smashed. But both men… their hearts are full and here we go. 35-minutes… we get to see both men go move for move with neither giving an inch. Flair is pretty easy going outside the ring… that is until he makes eyes at Elizabeth… and then he goes to help Steamboat get up from a fall. When it happens to Savage… Flair all but ignores him. We get a spot early on when Dan Spivey walks out but Flair is there to meet him in the ramp. Spivey tries to go past him but Flair with a couple of huge chops! He nails Spivey to the delight of the crowd. Flair is able to back off Spivey into the officials… In the ring both men know the weaknesses and go for it. Steamboat gets close to a submission on the elbow but Savage is able to pull him through and he goes out of the ring to the floor. Savage and Steamboat are able to brawl a little bit outside… we get Savage hoisting Steamboat into the rampway to hurt the ribs. Steamboat has to find a way to survive and then he tosses Savage’s arm right into the ringpost. The fight goes back in the ring and we get into the final moments. Steamboat is looking to finish and even nails a piledriver! Steamboat goes up top and flying karate chop! 1….2… KICK OUT! Steamboat then goes back up… FLYING CROSS BODY and Savage is down for the 1….2… FOOT ON THE ROPE! Steamboat is reeling now… Steamboat picks up Savage… Steamboat goes to the ropes but Flair pulls the middle rope down! Steamboat goes flying out of the ring! Steamboat looks hurt and here comes Savage but Liz screams about Flair. Savage is right in Flair’s eyes now but here comes Steamboat from behind and Savage moves and Flair is rocked! Savage and Steamboat get back in a series and go into the ring. Steamboat then hits a spinning heel kick out of nowhere… he goes to the ropes… Steamboat is going up top but Flair runs and pushes him off into the ring and he comes crashing down! Savage was groggy but now he gets up… Steamboat then gets up and swings big, Savage ducks and goes for an atomic drop but Savage goes over his back and then pushes Steamboat into the ropes… they hit the ropes and duck clotheslines… then a double clothesline and both men are down! Flair has now ripped off his tie and is screaming in the ring. Both men get up slowly… Steamboat throws a big arm and it is Savage who ducks…grabs Steamboat for the Atmoic Drop and Steamboat goes over the tope… runs Savage into the ropes and then they criss cross again and Savage out of nowhere with a back elbow… Steamboat is reeling and Savage with a huge PILEDRIVER! Oh my! Savage goes up top… puts his hands high in the air and ELBOW DROP!!! 1…..2…..3!!! We have a NEW WCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION!!} {Savage hoists the title high in the air in one arm and Elizabeth in the other! The crowd is giving them their due as they go up the ramp. Inside the ring though… wait a minute… Flair is in there screaming at Steamboat. Time is running out on the broadcast… wait a minute… ARN ANDERSON IS HERE! Anderson and Flair have attacked Steamboat! Time is running out! Anderson and Flair pull Steamboat out of the ring and … oh my… SPIKE PILEDRIVER ON THE FLOOR! Savage is running back… we gotta go!}

World Championship Wrestling Saturday, July 8 Cicero, Illinois WCW is live and fans we are moments away from finding out just who Nick Bockwinkle has signed to World Championship Wrestling… Sherri has promised to reveal her third man… we have a huge main event… Dan Spivey and Haku taking on Randy Savage and Ricky Steamboat. All this and more as we head into American Meltdown tomorrow night from Soldier Field! Let’s head to the ring for our opening contest! Rusty & Dusty the Jesters defeated Ryan Ford & Kyle Ripken via the Atomic Leg Drop! The two clowns make their way over to Tony and DDP with smiles but those smiles turn upside down quickly. DDP plays a fool and backs up from them… acting like he doesn’t like clowns… Tony asks what their motives are… Dusty says that they are here for fun… to make the kids laugh… and then Rusty comes back with… to inflict pain. You see there is nothing worse than a sad clown… someone who makes people laugh all day but can’t crack a smile when his paint comes off… so we leave our paint on… we want to make everyone smile… except our opponents… there will be no smiling for them… weird stuff here… the Jesters walk off and the fans aren’t sure what to make of them. WCW is back with Tony aad DDP running down some of the big matches tomorrow night from Soldier Field… they talk about the Savage vs Spivey match which will set up the main event… we also head about the big international battle royal… we find out that men from all over the world will be a part of it… right now we’ve got a pair of those men in action… let’s go to the ring! Konnan vs Diablo is a decent enough contest with Konnan putting the finishing touches on this feud. Dibiase just doesn’t have any momentum and the lucha movement isn’t going very well due to feedback from the fans. Konnan hits a corkscrew brainbuster and that spells the end for our friend Diablo! Before we head to break… Tony and DDP are joined by the Honky Tonk Man who says that it is a travesty that he is being forced to wrestle the Z-Man tomorrow night but because of it… he’s going to play all his greatest hits and show the thousands of fans just why he’s the greatest entertainer in all of professional wrestling! WCW returns and here comes Chris Benoit… he holds the Mexican and European titles… he points out that these mean a lot to him but it is the third that will mean the most. Unifying the titles is something so few people get a chance to do… Muta is going to feel the intensity and the first he’s had for years and it all comes down to this. We’ll see them in a six-man in a few moments… right now we’ve got more action… Jake the Snake Roberts defeated Mark Marcus via the DDT! Diamien even gets to come out and see everyone and slither around the ring… Roberts walks over and Tony asks him about the six-man title match tomorrow night… Jake goes on… “Do I look like a man worried about titles and gold? I don’t think so brother… Ia m worried about pride… justice if you will. I have been on the highest mountains and in the deepest valleys and there is no amount of gold that can keep you alive when you have nothing left to breath. That’s the thing about a snake… they can’t be bargained or bribed… they are in it for survival and I am the same way. I will wrap myself around until there is only a glimmer of light and then… well then you’re all mine. Nasty Boys… Sherri… you talk about the titles like they are the end all be all well you’re looking at the real end right here… and don’t that beat all. Gary Hart brings us back to WCW and he’s got his crew primed and ready for the six-man. Muta, Chono, and Crush all work the crowd into a big spot as Hart says tomorrow night he’s going to unleash Muta and his full potential! Right now we’ve got a huge matchup… let’s go to the ring! Benoit, Tiger Mask II, & Dragon Azul vs Chono, Crush, & Muta w/ Gary Hart {A good six-man here with plenty of juice. All of these guys have got some story and history but it is Tiger Mask and Muta that set the stage just a bit higher than anyone else. Benoit gets his chance with Muta and they give us a taste. The finish is quick with Tiger Mask and Muta going out of the ring. Azul goes and attacks Crush who throws him over the ropes to the rampway. This gives Tiger Mask a chance to hit a Tiger Driver and pinfall on Chono! Tiger Mask, Benoit, and Azul try to regroup. Muta and company aren’t happy. Gary Hart is letting Chono have it! Rick Steamboat comes out with the WCW title and tells the fans quick and simple… he may not be 100% but he is bringing everything he’s got tonight… he knows there is no better partner than Randy Savage… wait just a moment… Tony Schaivone says that when we come back… Nick Bockwinkle is bringing out the newest WCW signing… Steamboat says he’s going to wait around and see what happens. WCW is back… the fans are stirring… Steamboat is waiting… here comes Bock. He has got Brisco with him… he then gets on the microphone… Bockwinkel: Ladies and gentlemen… I am so excited for this announcement. Over the last couple of weeks… I have been in deep negotiations with this talent and I have the privilege to introduce to you… the newest member of WCW… he is the former heavyweight champion of the world… ladies and gentlemen… the Nature Boy Ric Flair! {The crowd goes bonkers here… they are in shock as out of the back walks the Nature Boy himself. He is stylin and profilin here and works the fans…} Flair then walks over to Steamboat and they shake hands and share a hug. They look to be all smiles… Ricky says he can’t believe he’s here and Flair himself says he is honored… he then grabs the microphone… Ric Flair: Wooo! I am so excited to be here in the major leagues of professional wrestling! Chicago… are you kidding me… greatest city in the world… the finest restaurants… tallest buildings… best night clubs… fanciest hotels… and now you’ve got the Nature Boy! WOOO! Rick… I have to tell you… I’ve been watching you man… this is an amazing run that you’re on… first WCW champion… defending it against all odds. I know that tomorrow night… you step in the ring with Savage or Spivey… both great competitors… I know you’ve got some pretty busted up ribs… but I can tell you right now… outside of myself… there is not a man walking this earth with a bigger heart than you when it comes to stepping into that ring and of course being the champion. I am pulling for you pal! (Shakes Steamboat’s hand) but I also want to say… haha… I want to be the first man to get a shot at the title when it’s all said and done. Huh? Ricky Steamboat smiles and they shake hands… Flair raises up the hand of Steamboat… Bockwinkle announces that Flair is going to be at ringside for the big WCW title match tomorrow night. This will be something the fans can’t afford to miss! Before we cut to commercial… we see a fun little contest with… Bam Bam Bigelow defeated George Shaw via the top rope headbutt! WCW is back and here is Bam Bam. He says that this is a time to be in WCW right now. He is pumped for all the happenings and he wants to be the man to put it all on the line… out of the back though… wait a minute… Sensational Sherri comes out… and he looks right at Bam Bam. She walks over and says something in earshot of the microphone… “It is time for you to make a decision…” Sherri then walks off… no clue what this means… is Bam Bam the third man?! Los Conquistadors defeated Ralphy Riggins & Mike Redrock via the double suplex! Z-Man joins us right before commercial. He talks about the WCW Television Title being one of the most contested titles in the sport. Tomorrow night… it gets a first class look from all the people on pay per view and he doesn’t want to disappoint. He wants to show the Honky Tonk Man that it is more than swinging those hips in the ring… Zenk is going to be swinging those rights and lefts and coming from every which way with his offense to shut him up once and for all! WCW returns and here comes Slick and the Twin Towers. They look massive… Slick goes on about how tomorrow night it isn’t going to be a technical masterpiece but rather an execution if you will. Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty are going to be walking the plank in front of 50,000 people and they will meet their end when it comes to the Twin Towers. He then puts over Hercules as the man who is going to step up to the plate to be the next WCW Champion… Slick isn’t worried about Dan Spivey… Randy Savage… Ric Flair… he ain’t worried about any of them… he has got his man prime and ready for Ricky Steamboat and it is going to be a slaughter because his party is going to be OVER! Hercules beats the hell out of Pauly Wallace and finishes him with the Torture Rack! Before commercial… we see an argument going on in the back… it is Duggan and Bam Bam… these guys are buddies? Here comes Mike Rotundo as well… he’s in action when we come back! WCW is back and here comes the Rockers. They put over the big tag team title match tomorrow night. Out of the back comes Paul Roma who says that he has got their back and looks to be on the lookout for Hercules and anyone else who wants to try and stop them from getting the titles. Shawn and Marty agree and shake his hand as they let the fans know they won’t let them down. It is going to be a fight to the limit tomorrow night and the Rockers haven’t found their limits yet! Mike Rotundo defeated Tommy Knight via the Fisherman’s Suplex… We then see the Nasty Boys come out… they are circling… Sherri is laughing and looking on… here comes Duggan and he’s got Bam Bam with him… Duggan throws Bam Bam the 2x4 and he is going after the Nasty Boys… the ring is getting cleared but when Duggan turns back around Bigelow with a shot right to the skull with the 2x4! OH MY! The board is split in half… Bigelow looks on like a man possessed… he walks to the back… Sherri is laughing so maniacally. Has he sold his soul to be with Sherri!?! WCW returns and DDP and Schiavone are putting over the big night so far… we’ve seen the debut of the Nature Boy Ric Flair who will be ringside tomorrow night for the WCW title match… we’ve see Bam Bam Bigelow… for all intents and purposes join Sherri and the Nasty Boys… plus we’ve still got a big tag team main event coming up. They hear that Eric Bischoff is on his way to find Bigelow right now… Vega, Castillo, & Perez defeated Solar, Blue Demon, & Silver King in a six-man lucha match. One last shot for these guys to get over and all they do is go over the ropes a couple of times. Fans do give them a little love but this seems to have ran its course and the PR Trio is going to be looking to make waves in another way while the Lucha Boys are looking to find a place in this world of wrestling. Before commercial… we see Bischoff running in the back to find Bigelow who is ignoring him and walking away. We see he push Eric and then get into a limo… the limo speeds off… is he the third man for Sherri!?! We’re back and WCW runs a special promo for American Meltdown tomorrow night live from Soldier Field. We see all the big matches highlighted. We’re back in the arena here and we’ve got limited time remaining… Spivey and Haku are in the ring… here comes Savage… then WCW Champion Rick Steamboat! Ric Flair comes out to another good pop and joins Tony and DDP… Randy Savage & Ricky Steamboat vs Haku & Dan Spivey {Short, sweet, and to the point in this one. Flair is putting over Steamboat in a big way on commentary as he plays babyface oh so well. We see Savage and Steamboat with some good tags. Spivey doesn’t quite look enthused to be here. When he gets in though - he makes Savage and Steamboat pay - dearly. Spivey has really come into his own but he knows what the game is all about and he tags in Haku. Around the 9-minute mark, we get Spivey and Savage outside of the ring battling. Inside the ring… Haku turns and here comes Steamboat with a high cross body and then the 3-count!} Spivey sees his opening and he tosses Savage into the ringpost and attacks Steamboat from behind! Spivey tosses Steamboat out of the ring and they’re on the podium. Spivey yells something at Flair and then he powerbombs Steamboat once again right in front of them! Officials and agents run out. Here’s Bock and now Spivey pushes him to the ground. Whatever they had going on must be done. Brisco escorts him to the back. Savage is hurt and busted but checks on Steamboat… Flair is checking on him while he and Savage then have a word. Fans this is going to be something to behold tomorrow night from Chicago… We’ll see you there live on Pay Per View!

Bring on the Bash... Michael Hayes is here and he fits right in... plus now he plays a role with Garvin and Garvin... I smell something fishy. There are plenty of big matches at the bash but I am most excited about the Garvins, Rock N Roll v Andersons, and then the Flair and Taylor matches. Looking up and down the card... not too many spots for people to afford to miss.

AWA Major League Wrestling
"Randall 'Tex' Cobb" is one of my all time favorite characters in movies... many great spots... here... he gets us pumped for an event to kick AWA in gear... I love it. Bad News and Nikita... this is what I've been waiting for. Nikita is a little past is 1985 prowess... but damn he can still be something fun in that ring. I am going with the News... Bad News that is.

Mid-South Wrestling Revolution
"What a night. Three new champions. Vader is forced to leave Mid-South Wrestling. Dr. D and the Million Dollar Man put on a classic… yet… all anyone can talk about is Hacksaw Butch Reed. " This is a great summation of what is going on right now. Huge news with the Dream coming up but then he gets walloped by Butch Reed. Vader is gone and Luger survives... but what will he do to get out next time? He's at a point where whomever beats him has to be big and meaningful because this is a guy who FINDS a way to win no matter what.

What's up Mr. Hughes? Always was a fan of his. Bullet Bob is also a fun guy at this point to work around and I just look at this... " “The Rebel” Dick Slater and “The Canadian Lumberjack” Jos Leduc taking on “The Nature Boy” Buddy Landel and “Wildfire” Tommy Rich" What a main event to look forward to. Memphis is alive and well.

Some very interesting pieces to this puzzle. Shoot fighting isn't for everyone and not many can hang... I am excited to see how this can evolve.

I really like the newspaper stuff as I've said. I am also encouraged by the use of the ladies. They have a spot in the sport and I am glad to see people using them as such.

I agree. In early wcw drafts I had, Sherri was with the heel rockers but I just can’t see her play baby face with them when I have Elizabeth doing similar. I can only encourage to keep with it as this is only the beginning for the sensational one

1989 Rookie List
2 things - 1. Stampede sends their second round pick to WCW 2. What is the match minimum for an individual to be "debut" in accordance with this structure? I am doing some research on a couple of people who only had 5, 6, 7, 8 matches in 1989... does that mean they debut or do they need to have a minimum number in order to qualify?

Duggan looks like he’s going to say something to her but the Nasty Boys attack! Duggan is laid out… they Nasty Boys and Sherri walk off… Duggan gets back up and makes chase! Los Conquistadors vs Solar & Blue Demon Jr. {A simple enough tag team match. Conquistadors have a bit of a future here but Solar and Demon seem to be on the way out. Hercules joins Slick and the Twin Towers as they make it clear that the issue with the Rockers is going to come to an end at American Meltdown… Slick says the match is signed and the titles are on the line but in reality… it is going to be the end of the Rockers and all that’s left for them to do is cry like the little boys that they are! WCW returns with the Rockers coming out and getting a huge pop from the crowd. They let the fans know that the match has been signed with Twin Towers… the titles are on the line but it is going to be about respect and no one is going to disrespect them anymore! The Great Muta w/ Gary Hart defeated Silver King via the Moonsault Hart brings over Muta, Chono, & Crush. They put over a big six-man tag next week but they doubt that Benoit is going to be there… Hart says Muta has a special myst ready for Benoit… not only will it win him the International Championship but also send him into the abyss! We’re back here and we see DDP and Schiavone putting over the big international championship match. Right now, Crush is in the ring and here comes the Mexican and European Champion… Chris Benoit! Let’s go to the ring! Chris Benoit vs Crush w/ Gary Hart {A simple enough contest with all the shenanigans going on outside the ring with Gary Hart. Crush is really turning into a monster here. He is very intimidating and has some great power. The fans don’t really seem to be behind either of these guys. Benoit has a little steam but once he gets going… Chono and Muta jump in the ring. They are pounding away until Dragon Azul and Tiger Mask II come running out. We get a DQ victory for Benoit. The six-man brawl until officials come out… time told tale…} WCW is back with Schiavone and DDP. We then see Tom Zenk come out… he brings Bock to the back… while we wait… it is time for the debut of a new team here in WCW… Rusty and Dusty… The Jesters… these two guys come out… as clowns…? They seem to be happy go lucky… but then their smiles turn to frowns when the bell rings. Rusty & Dusty defeated Bob Collins & Seth Green via the Last Laugh (Rusty holds Seth for an atomic drop while Dusty comes off the top rope with a leg drop following a spinebuster) Tom Zenk comes back out and he’s got Bock with him… Bock doesn’t look happy… Bock announces that we will see a television championship match at American Meltdown between The Z-man and the Honky Tonk Man! Now… we welcome out… the one and the only… Randy Macho Man Savage. He puts over the big showdown in two weeks with Spivey and Steamboat. He says he’s training for two matches… he wants to walk out with the title and will do whatever it takes. He wants to stay ringside for our big main event… Ricky Steamboat vs Haku {Huge opportunity for Haku who is starting to make some waves here in WCW. He is a monster inside the ring but Steamboat, the WCW Champ, is on a different level. He throws rights and lefts and chops and kicks and stands toe to toe with the Tongan Monster. Haku is able to slow things down a bit and get control only for Steamboat to make a grand comeback. The crowd is 100% behind him. They are chanting and cheering but that quickly turns to OHHHs as here comes Dan Spivey out of the back. Steamboat isn’t giving him any attention… Haku goes for a huge kick but Steamboat ducks underneath… comes through with a backslide and the 1…2….3! Steamboat has won it but this isn’t over. He says that Ricky Steamboat and the WCW title is the Ultimate Prize and he’s going to reach the mountain top and drive this elbow right through his heart. DIG IT! On an interesting note… in the crowd… is that…. Is that Sherri? DDP is really agging on Schiavone about how the Honky Tonk Man is the superior wrestler and entertainer over the Z-man. He talks about how the Rock N Roadies are going to have his back 9 times out of 10 and twice on Sunday jack. They put over how they want the shot at the tag titles but Slick has his demands and not only will they meet them but they will exceed them and get the gold back! SIX-MAN TOURNAMENT Konnan, Solar, & Blue Demon vs The PR Trio {The Lucha Style just hasn’t caught on and you can tell that the fans are just not into it. Konnan has a little bit of a name while the PR Trio look the part. There is some fun brawling that gets the crowd going but the high flying seems out of its element… especially when the heels do it as well. Long story short… these guys all end up tossing one another around until they’re outside the ring. Konnan then hits a huge plancha and everyone is down. The referee counts to 10. Double Count Out… what does this mean for the tournament? WCW returns and DDP has walked over and he approaches Sherri and asks her why she’s here. Sherri just smiles at the camera and says that she has been watching WCW for a while now and this is the big league of professional wrestling. She is in a league of her own and she’s going to stake her claim at the top of WCW when they least expect it! DDP asks who they are… and Sherri just smiles and blows a kiss! Tiger Mask II defeated Diego Charles via the Tiger Driver! Tiger Mask walks over and he’s joined by Chris Benoit. They put over the big International Championship match at Meltdown and how tonight Crush is taking on Dragon Azul but next week he has Chris Benoit! Benoit questions if Muta even has the guts to show up! Gary Hart is at ringside and he’s got Muta in the full get up and Chono with him. Here comes the monster that is Crush. Hart is telling Chris Benoit to come out here and get the beating he deserves! Crush vs Dragon Azul is a colossal beatdown. Azul tries to fly but Crush grounds him early and gets the better of him. It gets to a point where the referee is trying to stop it but Crush shoves him out of the ring! It is a DQ victory for Azul but he is far from the winner. Here comes Benoit and Tiger Mask to fend off Gary Hart’s men. Hart just laughs and smiles… he tells them that one by one they will all go down! WCW Champion, Ricky Steamboat brings us back to television. He and Eric Bischoff put over the big triangle situation at American Meltdown. Steamboat points out that both Spivey and Savage have had their shots and he is still the champion… but now it is the final shot… for either of them… the title means a lot to Ricky Steamboat and he’s going to prove why he’s a champion at American Meltdown! Dan Spivey beats the living hell out of Brad Merchant and nails a NASTY powerbomb for the 3-count! Spivey then walks over and grabs the microphone… he is calling out Steamboat and Savage… he says he wants them both at the same time! Spivey says the US title is good but the WCW title is the top and he is the top guy in WCW… he’s the baddest… he’s the best! WCW returns and here comes Bam Bam Bigelow. He puts over the big American Meltdown pay per view and says that he plans to be there and to make an impact. He wonders when Dan Spivey is going to defend that US title again. He says he wouldn’t mind having a shot at the International Title as well. He’s also going to keep a close eye on the WCW title match and hopes to get in the mix for that sooner than later! Haku comes out and almost rips Ken Worth’s nose off and beats him with a Tongan Chop for a 3-count! As we’re preparing for our break… Sherri Martel shows back up and tells DDP that she has got a big surprise for everyone… and it is going to shake WCW down to its very core! DDP Also points out that he has just heard… next week… it’s gonna be live when Ricky Steamboat is wrestling… and he goes against… Haku! They pump it up along with our big main event… let’s go to the ring! SIX-MAN TOURNAMENT Hacksaw Duggan & The Nasty Boys vs Hercules & The Twin Towers w/ Slick {This is a pretty fun six-man to finish off a hectic night. We’ve got Duggan and the Nasty Boys… an odd couple if there ever was one. They aren’t smooth by any stretch of the imagination. The Towers are primed for big things and they showcase some great continuity in the ring. We then see Hercules come in to clean up the mess. These guys go about 12-minutes and we’ve got limited time remaining. Just when the Towers and Herc look like they are going to finish things off - here comes Shawn and Marty… they pull the attention of the Towers… Slick is trying to get his men back in the ring but now the Nasty Boys jump off the apron an take them out. Hercules turns around and Duggan with a huge clothesline and then the 3-count!} The Rockers just cost the Towers and Hercules the six-man titles. Slick is going nuts outside the ring. The Rockers are laughing all the way to the back. Duggan seems to be happy with the outcome as the Nasty Boys seem to ignore him and walk off. The Towers are calling out the Rockers right now.. What’s going to happen with these two teams meet up?!

We’re back and here comes Gary Hart… he’s got Muta, Chono, and Crush… he is flaming hot right now. He tells everyone that Benoit is speaking out of his… well… he can’t say the word. Benoit has cost them the six-man titles. He tells Crush to go and get some revenge… Crush goes in the ring and destroys Kyle Ford and finishes him with a nasty chokeslam! Here comes Nick Bockwinkle… he is followed up by Gerald Brisco… He is cornered by Gary Hart and they have a quick conversation… he has a contract… Bock then goes to the microphone and announces that two matches have been signed for the big Pay Per View from Solider Field. The first will be a unification bout between Chris Benoit and Muta where the European, Mexico, and Japan championships will be unified. The second… there will be an invitational battle royal… the winner will receive the first shot at the unified championship on July the 30th when WCW Presents the Bash at the BallPark when we have a big event from Wrigley Field in Chicago! The crowd pops for the announcements… but then here comes Dan Spivey… he is yelling at Bock and says he owes him the title! We’ll be right back… We’re back on WCW and Brisco is standing in between Dan Spivey and Bockwinkle. Spivey says that Bock broke their deal and he wants the belt! This brings out none other than the Macho Man Randy Savage and he has his finger right in Spivey’s face! They are jaw jacking as Brisco is getting pushed around and disheveled. Bam Bam Bigelow defeated Tom Robbins via the top rope heatbutt! Bam Bam walks past and makes a funny look at Spivey but now here comes Ricky Steamboat! Bockwinkel is trying to calm all the men down… Brisco is not ready for this… here comes Bischoff and he is almost punched right in the face by Spivey! We’ll be back with some kind of a resolution… We’re back and Bockwinkle is putting all three men in charge. Steamboat says that he will defend the title against both of them at the same time! Savage says he wants the title. Spivey says he was the title. Bockwinkle then calls for a meeting in the back… Mike Rotundo, Tom Zenk, & Jake Roberts vs Honky Tonk Man & The Rock n Roadies {A fun little six-man…. Honky does everything but get in the ring. Jake is also laying low on the other side. Zenk and Rotundo have some good stuff with the Roadies. Honky keeps hollering at Zenk and before too long The Z-Man strikes and he goes right after Honky and they are throwing hands outside the ring. Davis is out there trying to stop it… here comes Rotundo… that leaves Lane in the ring and he turns around to find Jake Roberts and a DDT! The crowd explodes for the 3-count! Jake leaves the ring… the Roadies tackle Rotundo… Honky then comes from behind and DESTROYS a guitar on Zenk’s back! The crowd is going nuts… more officials come out… pure chaos…. We’re back… Nick Bockwinkle comes out… he announces that at American Meltdown… Randy Savage will take on Dan Spivey… the match will NOT be for the United States championship but WILL determine who will face Ricky the Dragon Steamboat later on that evening in the main event for the WCW Championship! A huge announcement… plus he says we’ll determine the six-man champions at that show… what a night it will be! The Rockers & Paul Roma vs Hercules & The Twin Towers w/ Slick {This one has got some good heat with Slick, Hercules, and the Towers. The Rockers have got some really good love from the fans. Roma is a new face to the crowd but he sells well enough. The Rockers and Towers are really throwing hands here and One Man Gang is giving Shawn and Marty all kinds of love with his sells. This one has limited time remaining in regards to TV time. Schiavone is heard yelling that we’ve only got 3-minutes left on the air. The Towers are looking to finish but the Rockers have something left. We’ve got a little chaos to finish the match but we see Roma go for a cross body but he takes out Shawn Michaels instead and they go out of the ring… that leaves Jannetty to be turned around for Bossman and the Bossman SLAM! 1…2….3! Making a quick run of it - love Tully on Top. I think this could have been a gold mine IRL especially playing Tully against Flair with Arn in the middle. Big money lost. I will also say that BattleBowl is one of my all time favorite gimmicks. I am fully on board with how this turned out and you did an amazing job. Did you actually radonmly select names? That always makes it even better!
