  1. NWA... really liked the Brody and Abby stuff. Their real life feud gives us some imaging of what it would look like here when they hook up. Greensboro was definitely in for a treat with this card. Part of me want to see where Manny ends up here... and how great he and Brody in a big time spot could be. I love the battle royal to set up the main event... old school and awesome. Also going back... TT as the 4th horsemen... makes sense... he fits the bill... one has to wonder if he can hold the mustard and with opponents like Rocky Johnson... we're going to find that out quickly!
  2. You had me at Leduc and Hansen... no sell potato fest if there ever was one. I can appreciate Ron Simmons coming here to be a big star as well. Jerry LAwler will somehow find a way to be at the top of the heap and I wonder who he will take out along the way.
  3. Lots to unpack here... I like the direction that you're going... Eddie Gilbert is an awesome sharpshooter right now. He is like a randy orton type character with these loser leaves matches. It is a great gimmick. You've got some great stuff at the top with JYD, Williams, and Murdoch... but those heels with Luger - Vader - Ivan - & Wahoo... that's a lot of beef! Speaking of beef... Dibiase is in the middle here but still relevant. I like that he's getting a story to follow him and build that interest. The direction of Mid South is great and I am a huge Fan of Luger at the top right now... one has to wonder what it would have looked like if the NWA gave him that same chance in 88.
  4. I totally get what you're saying with the television age and use of other characters. I almost want to find a fine line like WWE did to only show off what they want to show in regards to "new" characters who've been other places. I have a couple of ideas with the titles... they definitely won't be a saturation thing but more of a kick start.
  5. World Championship Wrestling Presents: Main Event Saturday January 21 Des Moines, Iowa The Main Event opens with Tony, Dusty, & Nick Bockwinkle standing by. Bock is holding the US title. He says that WCW has made offers and negotiations with companies throughout the world… including Mexico and Europe and they have sent national champions. We will see Wild Pegasus, the European Champion next week. Konnan, the Mexican champion wil be here tonight. These representatives will be a part of a very special event taking place on January 31st from the UIC Pavillion. The event is called the Chi-Town Rumbles… but there will be a special Chi-Town Rumbles… 20 men will be involved in a special battle royal in which two men start and every 90-seconds a new man comes down. Elimination can occur with an individual going over the top rope and to the floor. The last man standing after all 19-others has been eliminated will be crowned the NEW WCW United States Champion! We’ll also see the Road Warriors take on the winners of our tag team tournament. We’ll finally have the Unification bout of the Windy City and Gateway Championships into the Undisputed WCW World Heavyweight Championship! Tag Title Tournament The Rockers (20) vs The Islanders (10) One of the better matches under this banner. These four go toe to toe for the full 20-minutes Marty and Shawn are really giving off the Rockstar vibe Haku and Tama with Skandar continue to be more dangerous than anyone expected. We get a couple of hot moves from both teams and the finish is pretty awesome We see all four men raising hell inside the ring In the final moments… we see a flurry of superkicks… Jannetty to Tama… Haku to Jannetty… Shawn to Haku… and then out of nowhere Tama comes with another on Shawn and then collapses! The referee does the 10 count in the ring… no one gets up! This one is decided as a draw! Both teams get 5 points for the draw… The Great Muta defeated Chael Mickens via the Moonsault! Tom Zenk - Koko Ware - Johnny Ace defeated Los Conquistadors & Cuban Assassin Tag Title Tournament The Nasty Boys (0) vs The Killer Bees (0) The Nasty Boys show up this week but those Bees are stinging right and left and the crowd is eating it up Blair and Brunzell are really gaining some momentum here in WCW and show off here tonight The Nasties continue to show their frustration… leading one again to a messy finish The Bees hit a huge double dropkick that takes Sags out of the ring But Knobbs then Brunzell out and he tosses him over the guardrail! Here comes Blair off the apron and he tackles Sags! Knobbs… wait a second… he’s got the damn ringsteps… he nails Blair! The crowd is irate! The referee is calling for the bell The Killer Bees get 10 points for a DQ but they don’t look like they're in a good spot here by any means. Jimmy Snuka defeated George Hill via the SUPERFLY SPLASH! Big Bossman & One Man Gang w/ Slick destroyed Mark Singletary & Phil Upton MAIN EVENT Bam Bam Bigelow & Ricky Steamboat vs Harley Race & Bob Orton Huge main event for WCW right here Race has all the prestige that a wrestler could have and just a little bit of gas in the tank Orton and Race make a formidable team that know how to get some heat and keep the pace slow Steamboat and Bigelow seem to be at odds here and there Some mis-communication leads to Steamboat and Bigelow actually arguing on the apron which is totally out of range for Steamboat Orton and Race then take advantage of this situation and work over Steamboat He makes selling a true art form… only to work towards the huge tag… but the referee misses it Bam Bam comes in like a house of fire but the referee is pushing him out of the ring Bigelow is going nuts… he threatens to hit the referee! Meanwhile Steamboat is being beaten down by Race and Orton Oh my… it is a SPIKE PILEDRIVER! 1……2…..3….as Bigelow watches on! Race and Orton are the winners… Bigelow watched them finish off Steamboat… what is next with these two? We also got to hear from: Dan Spivey put over coming to WCW with a purpose on his mind and he is letting it be known that he will be in the Chi-Town Rumble and he wants that US Title… but tells Bigelow and Steamboat to know he is coming! The Road Warriors put over the tag team tournament and say there is no clear cut favorite but whoever survives is going to have a rude awakening when they step in the ring with the brothers of destruction. Konnan comes up to speak with Dusty and Tony and shows off the WCW Mexican title. He talks about winning this title last week in Tijuana. He says that he has brought the title up to the United States to show that Lucha Libre is numero uno and la viva la raza! Akbar comes out with Kamala to let the world know he will be entering the Chi-Town Rumble. He says that Kamala is the most dangerous man in the sport and he will prove it once again! The Freebirds come out to let all the people know that the three of them will be in the Chi-Town Rumble. They say that the odds are with them and there is a high chance one of the three will walk out with the gold which means all three will! They tell the world that Randy Savage is going to have to watch his back everywhere he turns because he got the brothers from badstreet mad and they are coming for blood! Randy Savage finishes things off with Elizabeth and announces he’ll be in the Chi-Town Rumble. He knows that the US title will be a great prize but he really wants to get his hands on the Freebirds. He plans on eliminating all three of them. He doesn’t care if he’s got to fight by himself… he is coming to take them out once and for all!
  6. Iceman can come up to wcw
  7. World Championship Wrestling Presents: Main Event Saturday January 14 Dubuque, Iowa We open things up tonight with Nick Bockwinkle standing next to Dusty Rhodes and Tony Schiavone. They put over the big night of action. Bock says we have two tag title tournament matches tonight… they are putting on a round robin tournament with points being awarded for each team in the contest… those teams will be the Islanders, Nasty Boys, the Killer Bees, and the Rockers! Later on this evening… we’ll announce the competitors who will be going for the WCW Television title in the coming weeks. Also… tonight… the final two men in the US title battle royal will face off at the Chicago Rumble with the title on the line! Tag Title Tournament The Islanders w/ Akbar vs The Nasty Boys What a way to open things up tonight. The Islanders, with Akbar, seem to be a driving force right now The Nasty Boys continue to build back up here in WCW and bring some big tme strikes Neither of these teams seem to be friendly to the fans but it is okay when it comes to the brawling nature of the contest All hell breaks loose with these four The big moment is when Saggs grabs a wooden chair and just DESTROYS Haku with it but the big man doesn’t even FLINCH! The referee calls for the bell! The Islanders receive 10 points for a DQ win. These four men have to be broken up… the Islanders jump out in front of this tournament. The Great Muta defeated Bart Batten The Twin Towers w/ Slick defeated The Patriots US TITLE BATTLE ROYAL Dan Spivey , Randy Savage , Koko B Ware, Jimmy Snuka, Tom Zenk, Konnan, Johnny Ace, Kamala , Mark Madness, Bob Bradley, Bob Orton, Harley Race, Michael Hayes , Terry Gordy, Buddy Roberts, Luke, Butch, Conquistador 1, Conquistador 2, & Cuban Assassin In a 20-man over the top battle royal - it was decided to be a no contest. We saw a lot of brawling and the offense of Randy Savage and Dan Spivey shone throughout the match. We had a couple of big moments to highlight… A masked man named Wild Pegasus showed up out of the crowd and pulled Konnan out of the ring. Dusty and Tony wondered if these two had issues stemming from Japan or Mexico The tag team of Race and Orton really worked well together but came into a fun fight with the team of Zenk and Ace. The Freebirds were dominant in eliminating others as a team and controlling the contest The final four men included Savage, Spivey, Gordy, and Hayes. Buddy Roberts didn’t leave the ringside area though… we saw a big finish where Hayes and Gordy eliminated Spivey. Savage then came over and nailed Hayes and perhaps eliminated him however Buddy Roberts held Hayes in. Savage and Gordy continued to fight until Hayes came over and went under both mena and they both went to the floor! Hayes is jumping around like he’s the champion! We see Nick Bockwinkle and Jim Herd come out… Hayes tries to grab the belt but Bock pulls it back…. Wait a second…Bock and Herd take the title… they tell Schiavone that they’ll be back later on with an announcement…. Derrick Dukes defeated the Pitbull Sabu & Taz defeated Tom Slick & Taylor York Bock comes back out with the US title in his hands… he announces that the battle royal tonight was a NO CONTEST… thus there is no match set up for the Chi-Town Rumble for the title… he has a meeting with the championship committee in the morning and next week we’ll have a final ruling on the title situation. He also wanted to announce that starting on January 28th… we’re going to have a special gauntlet for the gold for the Television Championship. Over the course of 5 weeks… we will have 6 men in a special contest. Two men will face off in week one… the winner goes on to week two… these men will be drawn at random the night of the match… only we know the winner who will go on and be in action. There will be 10 names in the drawing… more to come on that in the coming weeks. Tag Title Tournament The Rockers vs The Killer Bees Big time main event… the Rockers come out and they have some flare from the fans but lots of people remember their attitude in Windy City. The Killer Bees come out to a huge pop and they are going wild in that ring We get a full 17-minutes of fast paced action This one keeps the fans wanting some more Rhodes and Schiavone are putting this one through the roof In the final moments… we see one of the Killer Bees… he jumps off the top rope but Shawn Michaels… out of nowhere with a Superkick right to the jaw! 1…2…..3!!! The Rockers with the win and 20 points. They are in the lead… we’ll see if they can keep it next week Other promos: The Freebirds came out to let Savage know that he may have hurt their Freebird Brother Jim Garvin… but together the Freebirds will live forever and they will take Savage out right here in WCW for the World to see! Randy Savage came out after the battle royal to run down the Freebirds something awful. He says that he doesn’t need any help but he isn’t afraid to take it. He says he would love the title but he has got vengeance on his mind first. The Road Warriors come out and man they are psyched… they talk about not being the real champions until they step in that ring. They don’t care if it is the Rockers, Bees, Islanders, or Nasty Boys… they are going to meet their doom right here with the Road Warriors! Bam Bam Bigelow and Rick Steamboat come out… and have a face off. Neither man is really giving the other any slack. Bigelow talks about how his power and strength is going to take over and make sure that he walks out with the title. Steamboat says that he has all the technique and experience to hold the title and win… no matter who the opponent is! We find out… that NEXT WEEK… Steamboat and Bigelow team up to take on Race and Orton!
  8. Well spaldoni... you never cease to show me just how good of a writer you've become. I like the way you call upon the past and present the future for everyone to buy into AWA in 88. DDP is always going to be one of my faves and has a lot of flexibility in the role of someone who can't wrestle. Warrior in 88 in the AWA... that might be just the shot it needed to get back on top!
  9. You are doing a good job with the way you present these shows. Tremendous writing. You've got a lot of good talent and with Lawler... Hansen... this has instantly become a hot up and coming promotion. Looking forward to where you go.
  10. The Battle doesn't disappoint and there will be some serious fallout from these events. I think Jake Roberts is in line for a spectacular 1988... interested to see where he goes. JYD, Duggan, and Dibiase... Md South mainstays... all get wins and move things on. These guys are the top dogs around here for a reason. The real big note though... Lex Luger is the man and rightfully so. He was primed for the top spot at this point in his career and you'll do him justice. Oh yeah... and then we've got Ladd and Watts... Big Cat walks away with a lot in his pocket... but we know that Watts won't be too far out of the picture. The follow up is good.... Vader is back on the right track...Dibiase and Jake is a feud everyone can get behind. Lastly, JYD... again on top he has got all the skills to be on top of the mountain in 1988 but we'll see if his body holds up!
  11. Fresh crop of young stars... PCW opening up 1988 with a bang. I am interested to see who will rise to the top here. I like Windham but now with Owen building up...Bret and Pillman... even Scott Hall has got a tremendous upside. Without question... the PCW roster has got a high bar that we have to measure up to. I have my money on Neidhart being the breakout star here in 1988!
  12. I wanted to tell you that starrcade was a blast. I thought I wrote something on it... but it never posted from my phone... I apologize. Coming to now... you've got some new names and people showing up in the NWA. World Wide Wrestling is the perfect showcase show that the NWA was known for. The Rock N Roll come in huge... so does Brad Anderson. While I think that Ricky and Robert will soar... I hope Brad can stay afloat. Ron Garvin has got the hands of stone but I am interested to see who he uses them on. Does Ray Candy hand out candy to the kids like Brad Armstrong did?

Brian Blair The Killer Bees defeated Mike Riggins & Tim Snow We then see a promo from none other than Skandar Akbar who has brought out the Mighty Kamala along with Tama and Haku! Akbar says that his men are perhaps the most dangerous trio in the sport of professional wrestling. He says that he was banned from countries throughout the world but here… we will stake claim to what we want when we want and there will be no PRISONERS! Jimmy Snuka defeated Ken Wright via the SUPERFLY SPLASH! *COMMERCIAL* Bob Orton & Harley Race defeated Bob Shaw & Tommy Williams via the Spike Piledriver! Orton and Race then walk up to Dusty and Tony. They are putting over their talent as a tag team and then Harley really starts goating Rhodes. They are beginning to jaw jack a little bit until we see Slick walk out. Slick has got some big muscle behind him… it is Akeem and the Bossman as he's being called. Rhodes looks at both men… he has history with them… but he is in a different role now as they head to the ring… The Twin Towers w/ Slick defeated Frank Morris & Sam Bough via the 747 Splash! Slick and the Towers tell Rhodes to turn out the lights because the party is over! Rhodes takes off his hat and comes towards them but we have officials and agents who come out and hold things off. Some big tension here as we cut to break *COMMERCIAL* Nick Bockwinkle comes out with the WCW Tag Team Titles… he then welcomes out the Road Warriors. They hand over the Windy City Tag Titles and Bockwinkle says that they are the number one contenders for the tag titles… but not the champions. They will face off over the next couple of weeks. The Road Warriors make everyone aware that they don’t want to be paper champions… they will take on all four of the teams if WCW will let them. The Rockers defeated Brad & Bart Batten via the Double Fist Drop! The Rockers come over and still work heel. They talk about the Road Warrior ducking them for months but soon they’ll have nowhere to run and nowhere to hide! They plan on Rocking and Rolling… Strutting an Strolling… and taking the titles out on the town all night long! *COMMERCIAL* Tony and Dusty welcome us back and put over the big night we’ve had and put over our big main event. The Macho Man Randy Savage is going to be in action… let’s go to the ring! Randy Savage w/ Elizabeth defeats Pitbull via the Elbow Smash! Koko runs and jumps up the ropes and then with a back cross body nails Madness for the 1….2…..3!!!! Koko has won it! The crowd pops as Koko gets out of the ring and works the fans Madness can’t believe it as he makes chase The Renegade Warriors vs Bob Orton & Dick Slater w/ Paul Jones The Renegades come out and work the fans Slater and Orton… they are pros and they look good tonight This one isn’t overly special The Renegades get some offense but nothing crazy The spike piledriver and pinfall by Orton spells the end 1….2….3 and Orton and Slater walk on. CHICAGO STREET FIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP Scott Casey vs Black Bart A nice little showcase for Scott Casey Lots of weapons get used The trash can on Bart’s head lead to some fun chair shots Casey then hits a middle rope bulldog 1….2….3! The Chicago Streetfight Champion reigns… Dan Spivey vs Kamala w/ Skandar Akbar Big time showdown with these two Lots of brawling and battling around the ringside area Skandar Akbar is afraid for his life while Danny Spivey looks to go after him as well The finish sees Kamala tackle Spivey and they go into the crowd! The referee hits a count out and the crowd isn’t happy WINDY CITY TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP The Road Warriors vs The Nasty Boys A good showcase for both teams The Nasty Boys bring the big time fight The Road Warriors look like all-pros We get some serious blows and potatoes from both teams The Nasty Boys are able to get some heat but eh Road Warriors fight back We get some chaos near the end Saggs looks to piledrive Animal but Hawk comes off the top rope with a clothesline! Animal rolls up Saggs and gets the 3-count! The Road Warriors get the win… but this one is far… far from over. GATEWAY CHAMPIONSHIP NO DQ - NO COUNT OUT - NO TIME LIMIT Ricky Steamboat vs Butch Reed © w/ Paul Jones These guys put on a clinic From the opening bell to the final moments… These men leave it all out there. Steamboat sells every single shot from Reed Reed hammers down with all his power and strength The big time shoulder block from Reed gets as close to a 3-count as possible Steamboat then goes into a series… deep arm drags Some huge dropkicks Steamboat then with a crossbody and both men go over the top to the floor We get the final 3-minutes… Reed uses his power and strength again… and hits a huge powerslam on Steamboat Reed waits for Steamboat to get up and then hits a huge SHOULDER BLOCK! Steamboat goes flying across the ring! Jones is screaming for him to make the cover… but Reed goes back up… now to the top rope…. Steamboat is stumbling up to his feet Reed Waits… maybe a moment too long… he leaps for another shoulder block Steamboat side steps and grabs Reed for a powerslam! 1……2……3!!!! Ricky Steamboat has won it! Steamboat is the new GATEWAY CHAMPION! The crowd is going nuts! The Rock n Roll Express vs The Rockers A great showcase for both teams 30-minutes…. They go… then another 15-more! We see both teams work the fans with the Rockers playing heel to a T. The Rock N Roll sell like no one before and make Michaels and Jannetty look like legit beasts in the ring. We get a couple of great hope spots with Ricky and Robert both making hot tags only for the Rockers to break them down in their comebacks In the final 5-minutes… it all comes to a head We see Ricky get the hell beat out of him only to make the big tag to Robert Robert is a house of fire with big rights and lefts…. Then clotheslines…. The Rock N Roll put Jannetty in a spot for a huge double dropkick and send him flying over the top rope The referee is admonishing Ricky Morton when out of nowhere Shawn Michaels pops with a huge superkick and knocks him smack dab out! Robert then goes for Michaels… but by this time… Jannetty is up and he springboards off the ropes with a clothesline to Roberts back tripping him into Michaels who comes with a huge superkick! Michaels covers for the 1….2….3!!! The Rockers have won it at the 45-minute mark! We get a show of respect from the Rock N Roll as they offer the handshake but Michaels and Jannetty turn their backs…. Then come with kicks but RnR duck and hit the ropes for a pair of dropkicks that send the Rockers flying! The War may be over… but don’t think for a second that the Rock N Roll are done with these two! Hey everyone, thank you for reading this. I was making good headway on this show but then the holiday hit and my mom broke her leg and then my grandmother passed. Needless to say it has been a trying time. I apologize for the lack of description in the final two matches… especially since they are my two big blow offs. CAGE MATCH I-QUIT MATCH Randy Savage w/ Elizabeth vs Jim Garvin w/ Precious This is one of those matches that will go down as a hallmark of Windy City. These two have been going at it for the better part of three months. The issues with Elizabeth led to the Poffo brother feud and now this. The match is dirty… sloppy… and bloody. Both men juice… hard… both men get offense in and look dangerous. We see some big spots and even Savage countering the brainbuster into a back drop that lands Garvin right on his neck. Savage does a hug elbow smash off the top of the cage to the delight of the fans. Savage then hoists Garvin up and locks him in a hangman’s neckbreaker and finally Garvin screams “I QUIT!” The crowd erupts and Savage, a bloody mess, with Elizabeth by his side is victorious! CAGE MATCH WINDY CITY CHAMPIONSHIP Bam Bam Bigelow vs Harley Race Big entrances… big match… these two have a lot to follow up with. Race gives that one last performance to show why he’s an all-timer. Race is a bloody mess before it is all said and done. Harley is able to get in his offense and even hits two big piledrivers but Bam Bam Fights his way back. Bigelow then hits a huge powerslam to follow it up with a diving headbutt. Bigelow then looks to the sky… oh my… Bam Bam goes on top of the cage… MOONSAULT! HE NAILS IT! 1…..2…..3!!! Bam Bam wins…. Bam Bam retains the Windy City Championship!
  18. Okay... sorry to do it again... but I don't see Eric Bischoff anywhere... could I throw out Craig DeGeorge and add Eric to my Windy City roster?
  19. Windy City Wrestling #23 Saturday December 17 Okay… late… but here we go… December the 17th was a pretty good showing for Windy City. It was highlighted by a huge 20-man battle royal in which the winner would go on to face Butch Reed for the Gateway Title at the Christmas Day Special from the UIC Pavillion. We get word from Joe Pedicino that Race v Bigelow will be inside a STEEL CAGE! We got a promo from Randy Savage that he is challenging Jimmy Garvin to a cage match since they will have one. We find out that the Rockers will take on the Rock N Roll Express in a 60-minute time limit match! Mark Madness kills some jobber but when he goes to continue to beatdown Koko Ware comes out and breaks it up. We’ll see these two line up one more time in Chicago. We see a big match in which Bam Bam defeats Dick Slater and shows his gut. The main event is the big battle royal and we get the final showdown with Orton, Kamala, Spivey, and Steamboat (who has made a miraculous comeback!) The final moments end with Steamboat hitting a crossbody on Kamala and going over the top to the floor…. But Steamboat hung on…. Steamboat will go on to take on Reed on Christmas Night!
  20. December 16 - Kenosha Show opens up with a view in the back of the arena - there is a big bunkhouse set up with a couple of hay bales, a piano, a bar, and some other various weapons. We then see various men come out…. It is time to figure out who will walk away with the Windy City Chicago Street Fight Championship!?! CHICAGO STREET FIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP BUNKHOUSE ELIMINATION MATCH Scott Casey vs Killer Khan vs Kabuki vs Wild Bill vs Dutch vs Jaggers vs Black Bart vs Mark Madness Well looking at who is involved… you can tell that this isn’t that great We get some fun weapon spots… especially seeing Mark Madness body slam Black Bart through the piano! Scott Casey picks up Kabuki and back drops him over the top of the guardrail to the floor and he’s eliminated. Dutch and Jaggers are able to get Wild Bill out after he hits Black Bart with a lariat and eliminated him We’re down to Casey, Khan, Dutch, Jaggers, and Mark Madness We then see a commotion when Koko Ware is shown coming out… he then leaps off the piano and dropkicks Mark Madness! Koko is all over the big guy and the fans are going wild! Meanwhile, Casey with a nasty show to Khan with a broom stick and then he clotheslines him over the rail! Madness turns the tide on Koko and picks him up for a bodyslam but tosses him over the rail but not too far behind comes Jaggers and Dutch who double clothesline him over the rail to the floor! It is Casey, Jaggers, and Dutch… two on one for all intents and purposes. We then see some more weapons get involved but the highlight is Casey back body dropping Jaggers on the bar! He then comes with a huge clothesline on Dutch and takes him over the top to the floor! Casey picks up a shovel… Jaggers turns around and Casey DESTROYS HIM WITH THE SHOVEL! Jaggers is out and now Casey tosses him over the rail and we have got a winner! Casey holds up the Chicago Street Fight Championship and the crowd is going wild for him. Scott Casey is on the run of a lifetime… can anyone stop him? Scott Hall vs Kamala w/ Akbar Scott Hall just hasn’t been able to put all the pieces together and it shows here when Kamala beats the living hell out of him Hall does everything he can to make it an offensive contest but Kamala looks to be a renewed monster right now Hall makes one little rush to get ahead but when he goes for the Fallaway Slam he can’t get the big man over and Kamala crashes down on top of Hall This spells the end as Kamala with some nasty chops and then headbutts Kamala with a big powerslam…. And then a huge SPLASH! Kamala with the cover and the 3-count… this monster is finding his feeting again… who will be next to clash with the Ugandan Giant? The Renegade Warriors vs Bob Orton & Dick Slater Good tag team showcase for both teams Orton and Slater don’t look like they’ve lost a step since losing the tag titles and keep coming with some big time shots The Youngbloods get in enough offense to look decent but it doesn’t do enough The big spike piledriver spells the end with the 3-count on Mark and Orton and Slater walk away as the winners. Bad Company vs The Rockers Another decent showcase… Bad Company just couldn’t hit the ground running. The Rockers are so over right now and they’ve got some serious heat with the crowd The fans are letting them have it but Marty and Shawn could care less. The finish is a double superkick on Diamond… then double flying fist drop for the 3-count! The Rockers look primed for the tag titles… or the Rock N Roll Express… or both!?! GATEWAY CHAMPIONSHIP LUMBERJACK MATCH (Dutch, Jaggers, Bart, Kabuki, Sato, Fuchi, Champion, Chip, Youngbloods, Wild Bill, Orton, Slater, and Johnny Ace (making his return to Windy City)) Ricky Steamboat vs Butch Reed © A fun lumberjack match between these two Last time they fought it was a countout finish with Steamboat getting the victory This week, Reed has nowhere to run and we’ve got a good contest These guys go about 17-minutes and give the fans some good work. We see the Lumberjacks get involved but nothing too offensive That is until Orton and Slater double up on Steamboat and this causes some chaos outside the ring Reed tries to capitalize but Steamboat keeps control Reed tries to retreat outside the ring with Slater, Orton, and the other heels but here comes Steamboat off the top rope with a cross body taking everyone out! The crowd is going wild as we’ve got a bunch of fights going on outside the ring Reed is pushed into the ring by Paul Jones but then Orton and Slater grab Steamboat again and then deliver a SPIKE PILEDRIVER ON THE FLOOR! The crowd is going nuts as the referee calls for the bell! Steamboat has been awarded the match via DQ but Reed remains the Gateway Champion We get a stretcher job for Steamboat who looks to be in a serious way NUMBER ONE CONTENDER MATCH Dan Spivey vs Harley Race Two men who are not strangers to one another go at it again These guys only have about 13-minutes in them Race… he’s near the end of true competition but he won’t let anyone see it Spivey is on the cusp of being the next big thing in wrestling if he can keep up this momentum The crowd is solidly behind Dangerous Danny and he gives Race all he’s got to handle and more The finish is a little messy… Race looks to be hoisted up for the powerslam but Paul Jones pulls his leg down and Race stumbles… Spivey comes with a boot that destroys Jones but his leg gets caught on the top rope Race comes with a LOW BLOW! The referee didn’t see it… Spivey shuffles back and Harley grabs him for the PILEDRIVER 1…..2…..3!! Race has won it Race is the number one contender! The Road Warriors vs Rock N Roll Express Tag Titles Talk about a huge tag team encounter. These are quite possibly the two best teams in the world right now and they take it seriously in this huge title bout The Road Warriors are clearly more powerful that Ricky and Robert but the Express has fought and beat bigger teams before They give Hawk and Animal everything they’ve got and with the speed they come out ahead throughout the contest The quick tags of the Rock N Roll is thwarted by the sheer strength of the Warriors Around the 20-minute mark… we see the Rockers make their way down to the ring… the referees are trying to hold them back but Shawn and Marty say they are just watching. We see a huge double dropkick by the Express that sends Animal out of the ring to the floor! The referee is losing control now as Hawk nails a huge double clothesline and the Express are down! The Rockers walk over to Animal but here comes Hawk out of the ring and he attacks the Rockers! The crowd is going nuts right now Michaels and Jannetty back away as the referee is trying to gain control… as Shawn and Marty pop back in the ring they line up for a double superkick on Ricky but Robert pushes him away! The Road Warriors come back in with a huge double clothesline and the Rockers go flying to the floor Ricky comes flying at the Road Warriors but they duck, pull the ropes down, and he goes flying to take out the Rockers again! Robert gets up and Hawk comes with a big boot that takes his damn head off! They hoist him up for the DOOMSDAY DEVICE! 1…..2……3!!! The Road Warriors have won it! They retain the titles! They get the belts and walk up the aisleway as the referees are breaking up the fight in the ringside between the Express and Rockers! Wait just a moment… at the top of the stage… is that the Nasty Boys!?! Sags and Knobbs come out with chairs and DESTROY HAWK AND ANIMAL! They are beating the daylights out of them with those chairs! The officials are tied up with the teams at ringside! MAIN EVENT WINDY CITY CHAMPIONSHIP Bam Bam vs Jimmy Garvin w/ Precious Our “main event” due to the lights out match taking place gets some good entrances and both men look primed. Garvin has only had a couple of shots at the title and some would say he has become a let down by not getting his hands on the gold Garvin works the crowd is gets some serious heat from his stalling tactics on Bam Bam We see Bigelow control things early with some big time power and strength as he manhandles Garvin A couple of big moments occur when Garvin hits a nasty low blow behind the referee’s back This sets up a good heat segment for Garvin to work over the neck and back of Bigelow Bammer is a long way from gone though and he fights back in a huge way These guys take the fight to the outside and we even see Bammer get a little juice the hard way thanks to a nasty guardrail shot Garvin even hits a brainbuster outside the ring but doesn’t land it clean He rolls Bigelow into the ring and he is looking to go up top… wait a minute… RANDY SAVAGE FROM OUT OF THE CROWD! SAVAGE RUNS UP AND PUSHES GARVIN OFF THE TOP ROPE AND HE NUTS HIMSELF! THE CROWD IS GOING NUTS! Bigelow gets up and pulls Garvin over for a big POWERSLAM Bigelow goes up top for the DIVING HEADBUTT 1…..2…..3!!! Bigelow retains the title…. Thanks to Savage…. Garvin is in a bad way! The announcer thanks everyone for the night and the event… they then lower the lights down for 10-seconds…. Then we hear Mike McGuirk say… SO YOU WANT SOME MORE HUH!? It is now time for our LIGHTS OUT MAIN EVENT… NO DISQUALIFICATION… NO COUNT OUT… ONCE A MAN DOESN’T ANSWER THE 10-COUNT THEY LOSE! Lights Out Match Randy Savage v Lanny Poffo Violence… the easiest way to explain it Savage is out here in jeans and cowboy boots Lanny is in his wrestling outfit. These guys only go 12-minutes and it is a bloody mess Savage opens up Lanny early on and is pulling out all the stops Lanny is finally able to get control when Savage is up top but Lanny hits the top rope to interrupt him Lanny then hits a dropkick on Savage who is sitting on the top rope and Savage goes tumbling down to the floor! We see Poffo crack Randy with the ringbell and gets an 8-count Savage is so good at selling and makes Lanny look special A Piledriver from Poffo on the ground and another 8-count… Then we get the moment…. Poffo rolls Savage in the ring… then Poffo GRABS ELIZABETH! He pulls her in the ring and yells at her to stay in the corner Randy is a blood mess right now Poffo comes over and picks him up for another PILEDRIVER! Lanny then grabs Elizabeth’s arm and makes the referee count Lanny is screaming at Liz the entire time as the referee gets closer to 10 8……9……10…NO NO NO! Savage is up and he has got WIDE EYES! Savage runs at Poffo and is unloading on him Rights and lefts Rights and lefts Savage then goes down and takes off his cowboy boot… Poffo gets up and Savage with a SHOT right to the skull! The crowd is going wild… Poffo… a blood mess… tries to pull himself up on Randy’s leg… Savage grabs him by the hair… then sets him for a PILEDRIVER!!!! Savage walks over and goes up top…. HE FLIES FOR AN ELBOW DROP RIGHT THROUGH POFFO’S HEART! 7….8….9….10! Savage has done it! Savage wins! We get a great big hug with Savage and Elizabeth. The crowd is going wild. Savage then grabs the microphone… and says…. Savage: GARVIN…. I AM COMING FOR YOU NEXT!
  21. I like the opener here for FCW. Don't be afraid to go with what works... Sullivan works... looking forward to see how this one shakes out.
  22. I love that wrestling figure ring set up... wait till 1988 when I jump that up to a new level. AWA is a great hallmark for our world of wrestling. The Road Warriors come over to give it some spice. Bad News is a big deal. Jerry Lawler looks to reign as the king. I am interested to see who comes out early in 1988 to be a top tier guy. Chris Adams is at the top of my list and I can't wait to see what Larry Z has in store.
  23. As others said... these vignettes are getting us excited about what is to come. It is almost like seeing a commercial for your company every couple of days. IT keeps us hooked into what could be happening next! The Force of July is my new favorite tag team name.
  24. Medusa is money... Rockiin Robin is on a roll... love these ladies and hope to get more involved with them in 1988!
  25. Any way that you can add intrigue to your promotion is good and you've done it in a multitude of ways. McGee winning the battle royal but losing to Hansen is still a win for him. He has shown his grit and perhaps on another night when he doesn't have to beat 19 others... he can beat just the 1! Interesting to see Dusty down on the card a big but everyone needs a spot and he still has one. I always thought 87 was going to be the year for the Bees but it didn't come to fruition... maybe 88?
