  1. I loved running that little version of Mid South... I was actually going to introduce the Oklahoma championship and then join all three for a tri-state title at one point before everything went different. I think this is going to be a fun little group you've put together and no doubt there's a lot of talent and potential to work with.
  2. I'd say the cap is 40. You can use 3 managers. They don't count against the cap. With all of us working together it doesn't need to be a stead fast rule but more of a guideline to follow.
  3. Georgia is going to sign Ron Garvin MACW is going to sign Mr. Fuji & Tenryu
  4. GCW Television taping results from the WTBS Studios in Atlanta, Georgia Bundy & Studd defeated Tom Vance & Ryan Wheeler The Freebirds defeated Mike Jackson, Steve Trevors, & Nick Mikeals Paul Orndorff defeated Mike Rotundo in defense of the GCW Television Championship The Iron Sheik defeated Miles Simpson Tommy Rich defeated Matt Borne via DQ when Sullivan & Sawyer interfered but the Hacksaws made the save! Other notes: Ole Anderson has welcomed the challenge of MACW next week and says he will be there with Bundy and Studd and it will be a night they’ll never forget because it will be like Deja Vu! The Freebirds went on a tirade about Hansen and Dibiase not really being the champions due to Buddy Jack Roberts being pinned. Hansen and Dibiase come out and they welcome the challenge anytime… looks like we’ll get it next week! Paul Orndorff continued to put over being the top wrestler in GCW… he says that the TV Title is a true testament to his ability but he wants to get the shot at Tommy Rich and he will do whatever he needs to in order to get Tommy Rich in the ring!
  5. MACW TV Taping - TV-Show @ in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA MACW Opens with some footage from the July 4th show and the big highlights of Gino and Tully winning the NWA world tag titles, Steamboat, Wahoo, & Youngblood winning the six-man titles, and then Harley Race retaining the NWA World Title against Roddy Piper. We cut to the studio and here is Jim Crockett Jr and he has got the Mid Atlantic Tag Team Championships with him… Crockett Jr: Welcome everyone to Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling… I have a couple of announcements to make here this evening. The first being that the success of the July 4th show in Greensboro has really put Mid Atlantic on the map in the realm of professional wrestling and Mid Atlantic will continue to put together these huge shows for our fans all over the territory. Secondly, I want to talk about these tag team titles. Due to the commitments of the NWA World Tag Team Champions… Gino and Tully had to vacate these titles and they will be held up in a one night tournament in two weeks in Charlotte. We’ll have eight teams all taking place and I am excited to see a couple of those teams here tonight and next week plus a couple of new teams debuting here in Mid Atlantic. I’d also like to talk about something that happened last night… Kabuki, while defending the Television Championship blew the Green Myst in Ricky Steamboat’s eyes… he was scheduled to have a television championship match here tonight and I have agreed to bring in a special replacement… he will be here tonight to take on Kabuki and the TITLE WILL BE ON THE LINE! Lastly, I want to address this issue with Georgia Championship Wrestling. Last week, Jake Roberts, Barry Windham, and Blackjack Mulligan did lose to Ole Anderson and his men… but one battle does not decide the fate of a war. I am here tonight to open up a challenge to Ole Anderson and his men for a rematch next week… right here on Mid Atlantic… a six-man tag team match… Ole… bring the best you’ve got! Bret Hart & Rocky Johnson defeated Tim Smitts & Bob Blake via the Boston Crab! Greg Valentine then comes out and he is on fire! He is irate that the television championship is on the line and he isn’t going for it! He is screaming at Crockett and says whomever steps in there tonight better watch their back! *COMMERCIAL* MACW is back as Caudle and Crockett are putting over the announcements from Jim Crockett. They wonder who will be the one to challenge Kabuki later on this evening. We then see Sgt. Slaughter & Cpl. Don Kernodle! Slaughter let’s everyone know he’s come to Mid Mid-Atlantic to show his true colors… but more importantly to get gold. He and Kernodle will be in the tag tournament but he has got his eyes on Roddy Piper and the US Title… He says Piper is on borrowed time… but soon he and Kernodle will hold the treasure and be on top of the mountain! Wahoo & Jay Youngblood defeated Mike Hammer & Henry Smith via the High Cross Body! Wahoo and Younblood then put over their six-man title win but also talk about Rick Steamboat being hurt by Kabuki. They talk about him being in the back with someone and it will change the scope of things here in Mid Atlantic! *COMMERCIAL* MACW is back and here comes the Nature Boy Ric Flair! Flair puts over his win against Dick Slater last week and says that it is only the beginning… he and Orton have got a target on their back and soon he is going to hit the bullseye… but more importantly… he is letting everyone know that he is stepping up to be the leader of Mid Atlantic to take on Georgia Championship Wrestling. He lets Ole Anderson know that he will go all the way to Atlanta to whoop his ass and there is no one who can stop him! The Assassins defeated Willy Jones & Danny Dukes via the double shoulder block! Ken Patera is here with the Mid Atlantic Championship. He says that Andre the Giant is in the rearview mirror… now he has got his eyes on bigger and better things. Harley Race… the NWA Title is on Ken Patera’s mind and he has got big things to make it happen... *COMMERCIAL* Mid Atlantic is back with Caudle and Crockett putting over the big announcement from Ric Flair that he will help lead MACW against Georgia. They wonder just what will happen next week when Ole Anderson shows up here for a six-man rematch! Jake Roberts defeated Vince Skiles via the DDT! Barry Windham & Blackjack walk over to the booth and put over the six-man next week. Jake Roberts joins them and they want to have the fight right here tonight… they have no problem waiting till next week and they know that this time it will go their way! *COMMERCIAL* MACW is back with Roddy Piper standing by with the US title. He puts over how he has been champion for a long time and he’s defended against a lot of different people. He says that Sgt. Slaughter is calling him out… he isn’t afraid of that… he welcomes the challenge and he’ll do whatever it takes to show why he is the true US Champ! Ivan Koloff & Nikolai Volkoff defeated Ryan Reed & Mike Gregory via the Russian Sickle! *COMMERCIAL* We’re back and we see Ricky Steamboat come out in street clothes as Gary Hart brings out Kabuki and the tv title. They are running Steamboat down but he says that he isn’t able to go tonight and that upsets him and the fans… but in his place… a good friend of his… a man who these people may know but Gary Hart wasn’t ready for… TITO SANTANA! MID ATLANTIC TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP Tito Santana vs Kabuki © w/ Gary Hart -Tito Santana with a huge debut here in Mid Atlantic and the crowd is pretty shocked. They may know this guy as Richard Blood from late in 1979 but now he’s back, new name, and a solid pat on the back from Ricky Steamboat. Tito and Kabuki go quick and have an action packed 9-minutes. Kabuki is able to get the upperhand and tries to wear him down but Tito is able to build back up in a huge way. We see a slight referee bump which causes Gary Hart to grab Tito on the apron and here comes Kabuki with the MYST but Tito ducks and the GREEN is all over Gary Hart and his suit! Tito hits the ropes and then comes back with a flying forearm on Kabuki and hits it for the 1….2….3!!! WE’VE GOT A NEW TV CHAMPION! Tito Santana is working the crowd as he and Steamboat celebrate! Gary Hart and Kabuki retreat into the darkness and then we see Greg Valentine in the entryway and he’s pissed!
  6. Made the changes with new tag team champions... also the six-man champs, Wahoo, Youngblood, & Steamboat will be homebased with me in MACW but will be open for bookings for those interested.
  7. Title changes! July 4th, 1981 - Gino Hernandez & Tully Blanchard won the NWA World Tag Team Championship! Ricky Steamboat, Jay Youngblood, & Wahoo McDaniel were crowned NWA World Six-Man Champions!
  8. MACW - Event @ Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina, USA - July 4, 1981 This is a big time house show. Tom Miller is announcing the candidates. We have television cameras there to get some of the action on tape. Bret Hart vs Greg Valentine -Greg Valentine won the contest at the 14-minute mark of a grueling back and forth. Hart really showed some courage after Valentine wore his knee down something awful. David Von Erich vs Bob Orton Jr. w/ JJ Dillon -A throwaway match for all intents and purposes. Orton and Von Erich have got some good fire and JJ Dillon is making his presence known. In the end, Orton defeated Von Erich when Dillon distracted David and Orton got a roll up with a handful of tights! NWA SIX-MAN CHAMPIONSHIP Ricky Steamboat, Jay Youngblood, & Wahoo McDaniel vs Gino Hernandez, Tully Blanchard, & Kabuki -First title match of the evening went about 18-minutes. Gino, Tully, and Kabuki seemed to have things under control but the momentum of Steamboat, Youngblood, and Wahoo really shone. Kabuki tried to go for the Myst on Youngblood but after he got him, he turned around and Steamboat came flying off the top rope with a high cross body for the 3-count! Steamboat, Youngblood, and Wahoo won the six-man tag titles and will defend them throughout the NWA! Ric Flair vs Dick Slater w/ JJ Dillon -This one has got some juice to it following the events of the last couple of weeks. Slater and Flair go about 22-minutes and they are beating the living hell out of one another. Flair gets busted open from the guardrail outside the ring but finds a way to fight back. Slater looks to finish with the brainbuster but Flair goes over his back and then hits a backslide for the 3-count! Slater isn’t done though as he attacks him and here comes Orton! They are putting the boots to Flair until the officials come out and break it up. Special Attraction Bullrope vs Russian Chain Dusty Rhodes vs Ivan Koloff -An interesting one to say the least. These guys go about 15-minutes. It is a bloodbath. Ropes uses the rope while Koloff has the chain and then they use the other ends on the opponents. It is a pretty typical Dusty match with him getting beaten down and then building back up for the victory. Koloff continues to look strong here even with Dusty knocking his knees out from underneath him. NWA WORLD TAG vs MACW TAG The Von Erichs © vs Tully & Gino © -Titles for titles here and the crowd is solidly behind Kevin and Kerry. Interestingly enough, Gary Hart isn’t out here for this one. Gino and Tully are still a little worn down but they have got all the underhanded tricks to keep them going. Kerry and Kevin have got all the fans behind them. All four men get going and we’ve got some juice from Kerry. In the end, we see the double teaming of Tully and Gino rise up and they isolate Kevin. Kerry looks to have made a big tag but Earl Hebner stops him… this gives Gino and Tully a chance for the SPIKE PILEDRIVER! Gino covers while Tully attacks Kerry for the 1...2...3! WE HAVE NEW NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS! MACW CHAMPIONSHIP Andre the Giant vs Ken Patera © -A huge semi-main event with a lot of implications on the line. Andre comes out to an enormous ovation from the fans. Ken Patera looks to be in a foul mood. These two only go about 12-minutes and it is a stiff contest. It looks like neither man is willing to sell for the other. In the end we see Patera trying to get a bearhug on Andre but he just can’t do it. Patera goes for a slam but Andre falls on him for a very close 2-count. Patera gets back up and we see Andre come for a clothesline and Patera ducks and hoists him over the top rope to the floor! Tommy Young doesn’t call for the DQ but after Andre gets up and pulls Patera out.. They battle all over the ringside area. They hammer off the pillars and posts of the ringside area. Young makes the count to 10 and it is a double count out. We get all kinds of officials out here but nothing can stop these guys from fighting all the way to the back. NWA WORLD TITLE Roddy Piper vs Harley Race © -Main event time… Tom Miller throws out the intros and here we go. Piper and Race fight a different style than Flair and Race. These guys go 27-minutes. Race ends up with a bloody nose and Piper with a gusher above the eye. Race has the upperhand late in the contest but Piper is able to counter the piledriver and toss him over his back. Piper then gets into a rhythm and he is looking to finish. He locks up the sleeper and the crowd is going nuts! Piper may have the title firmly in place. Race somehow counters and pulls Piper’s head down and hits a jawbreaker! Piper wobbles back and Race with a big right hand but Piper ducks and then rolls him up but Race uses his momentum and a hand on the ropes to get the 3-count! Race holds the title high in the air as Dillon leads out Orton and Slater who come to beat the hell out of Piper. The crowd is stirring but then we see Ric Flair run out and he starts hammering away! The fans are going nuts right now as Flair fights the men off and they retreat. Flair helps Piper up as they stand tall and Race walks to the back with his buddies and the NWA World Title.
  9. GCW Live from the Omni in Atlanta, Georgia - July 4, 1981 Mike Rotundo & Terry Taylor vs The Assassins -A good opener with Terry Taylor and Mike Rotundo being a pretty good little team. The Assassins are good heels who get good heat but in the end it is a top rope dropkick from Terry Taylor that spells the end and he and Rotundo look good in their first outing here tonight. TEXAS TORNADO TAG TEAM MATCH The Hacksaws Reed & Duggan vs Matt Borne & Kevin Sullivan -The opposite of the first match… this is raw and uncut from the beginning. Lots of brawling all over the ringside area. The referee is trying to keep control but it isn’t working. Duggan and Sullivan throw some huge bombs and the crowd is ooing and ahhhing. Borne and Reed don’t hold back either. Reed was busted wide open over the eye and he is gushing. The Hacksaws do end up getting the advantage but out of nowhere… Mad Dog Buzz Sawyer comes out from under the ring and he nails Jim Duggan with a 2x4 over the head that breaks the board in half and Duggan goes down. Sullivan then with a double stomp on his sternum and covers him for the 3-count! GCW TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP Steve O vs Paul Orndorff © -An okay contest here… Steve O can’t seem to get anything going against Orndorff who looks like he’s on a different level. He works the fans all the while beating down Steve O. O is able to get some decent offense in but it doesn’t go too far. Orndorff then finishes him off with the piledriver and he is still the champ. NWA NATIONAL TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP 2 out of 3 Falls Ted Dibiase & Stan Hansen vs The Freebirds -Triple main event… the first of three and it is Hayes and Gordy out there for the Birds. Once again, these two teams fit together like PB and J. Dibiase is the workhorse. Hayes is the showman. Gordy and Hansen bring the boom. The first fall goes down when Dibiase nails Hayes with a huge right hand and then Hansen comes out of nowhere with the Lariat for the 3-count! Hayes is really hurting but now Gordy gets involved and he’s able to calm the storm for a bit. We go about 5-minutes and then… low and behold… here comes Buddy Roberts. He gets involved and is able to distract Dibiase who turns around and Gordy with a nasty ASIATIC SPIKE to the throat! Dibiase is down and Gordy with the quick 3-count. We head into the final fall, Dibiase is hurt, Hayes is hurt, and then we see Hansen and Gordy turn it up to another level. They go about 6-minutes before we see Hayes get his wind back and gets involved. He and Gordy do some nice work before chaos ensues. We’ve got all four men involved but then Hansen with another lariat on Hayes who falls out of the ring. Buddy Roberts then tries to get involved but when he does… Stan Hansen out of nowhere with a Lariat and the 1...2...3!!! WE’VE GOT NEW CHAMPIONS! Hansen and Dibiase celebrate with the titles and the fans pop. Hayes and Gordy are trying to get the referee to turn the decision due to Roberts taking the fall… uh oh. MACW vs GCW SIX-MAN TAG Jake Roberts, Blackjack Mulligan, & Barry Windham vs Ole Anderson & The Monsters of Mayhem w/ Jimmy Hart -Lots of hype around this one. All six men bring it tonight. Bundy and Studd have got some big time power and Mulligan does his best to hold it off but he can only do so much. Barry Windham and Ole have got some history due to the situation with Gene. Roberts and Ole have got a lot of heat. The fans seem to be kind of split due to the men involved for GCW but still cheer them on halfway. This one goes about 18-minutes. The final moments see Mulligan and Roberts tied up with Bundy and Studd before Ole gets his revenge on Barry thanks to a nasty shoulder breaker. He is able to get the 3-count as Barry looks to be in a very bad way. Mulligan vows that this isn’t over. The monsters looked pretty good tonight and they’ve got a lot going for them as this one is far from over! TITLE FOR TITLE CAGE MATCH Tommy Rich © vs Masked Superstar © -Big time main event. Cage match. The stage is set. We get about 20-minutes. Tommy Rich is busted open early and he is gushing. Masked Superstar even gets some color when Rich grinds his face on the cage and rips his mask! Superstar looks to have control late in the contest but Tommy Rich… the wildfire fights back and the crowd is going wild. Masked Superstar is able to duck and jive through some of the shots only to get control and then go for the Heart Punch but Tommy Rich counters and tosses him to the ropes and THESZ PRESS for the 1...2…..3!!! Tommy Rich has won it and the crowd pops! The referee gives him both belts and he stands tall and the proudest man in Georgia right now!

  21. So one thing we wanted to change is how to approach this game in the year 1981. There are so many people who are "tied" to their home promotions and if anyone is interested in writing, we want to give you a chance to start with some of those big names. What we've done is come up with some of the promotions that were active in 1981 and put 5 workers a piece with them. This number may increase to 10 over time but these five would be individuals that were consistently with the company during this time. Additionally, you would then be able to draft out the rest of your roster from the free agent pool. If you're interested in writing for one of these promotions - these are the names you'd start with. Additioanlyl, if there is another promotion you'd like to write for... we would accommodate you to put the individuals on that roster to start.
